Tantalizing teabags
It was one of those days when the sun shone down warming your whole body and you just felt wonderfully and inexplicably happy. Janet breathed a sigh of content and skipped through the courtyard, she had spotted the tables and chairs earlier today when the house elves had set them up and had agreed to meet her best friend @Ariana Walker during lunch break. She didn't actually know what was going on here but the two friends didn't have anything in particular to do so why not? Janet sat down on a chair and waited for Ariana, she had grabbed an egg sandwich off the table at lunch and she pulled it out of her pocket now and began to hungrily devour it. Now was probably a good time to figure out what they would be doing so she glanced around at the other students already occupying some chairs, they seemed to be crafting something out of tea bags and on closer examination of a boy with a little dragon tea bag they were all animals. This looked fun! Janet stuffed the rest of her rather small sandwich in her mouth and began to get started. She chose a random selection of different tea leaves and put them in a piece of cloth she used as a bag. Janet hesitated, she wasn't exactly an expert on tea and to be truthful had no idea what she was doing. Glancing around she attempted to copy what everyone else was doing but when she tried to craft something out of the tea bag all the leaves just fell out. She sighed, Janet just wasn't patient enough for this sort of thing and couldn't keep her hands steady long enough. Well maybe when Ariana finally came she would be able to help her. Where was she anyway? probably stuffing her face at lunch still... Janet was still starving and it was a big relief to see the platter of biscuits standing temptingly before her nose. It was just when she was dipping some chocolate biscuits in tea that Ariana finally arrived.WC: 350

Ariana absolutely hated tea.
It was one of the typical British things that she despised, not simply because it was ‘something English’, no. Rather because in her opinion it had no flavor, yes she was much more inclined to drinking coffee as a beverage, at least the bitter granules were something to taste. Janet, on the other hand, seemed to like the plain, bland taste; it was one of their rare differences, for the girls were both very alike in many ways. Ariana knew that there was a small event being set up in the courtyard today, serving tea and god knows what else, so after much pleading and begging from Janet, she had decided that in spite of their friendship, she would go. Strolling into the sunny courtyard, she scanned the crowd of people, green orbs narrowing in search of her best friend.
After a few observant seconds, she located her, at one of the far tables, dipping what seemed like biscuits into the tasteless liquid tea. So she set off, weaving through groups and conversation, stopping only to say ‘hi’ to fellow acquaintances and friends before she found herself at the table. Grinning mischievously she hesitated for a fraction of a second, standing right behind her fellow gryffindor friend. “Hope you didn't forget I was coming,” she said loudly into her ear, shaking her shoulders as she did so. The sudden movement was bound to shock the poor girl, but it was a simple joke, in fact Ariana could hardly imagine them falling out over spilled tea. The idea was preposterous, each of them proved far from petty, well at least Janet certainly did.

“Ariiii you idiot I have tea all over me!” She said laughing, “Ugh now I have to go and change before next lesson.”
Janet punched Ariana playfully on the arm. She wasn’t really mad of course, if there was one thing Janet hated it was pettiness and she wasn’t going to let it cause any stupid arguments. Part of why Ariana and Janet got on so well was because it took a lot to cause an argument between them. Probably because they both grew up with plenty of siblings and were used to playful teasing. Disgust was written all over Ariana’s features as she looked down at the tea being drunk all around them. Janet knew Ariana hated tea, she was easily more of a coffee person. Janet herself loved tea, especially with some biscuits, and it was certainly better than bitter coffee, how could anyone stand the taste of it. She tossed some cloth to Ariana.

“You idiot I have tea all over me!”
The gryffindor couldn't suppress a giggle as she sat down opposite Janet on the small table, eying her best friend's expression that portrayed both the feelings of frustration and the desire to laugh. “We’re meant to be making animal shaped tea bags or something, at least that’s what everyone else is doing.” Ariana snapped her gaze back from the tea she had been staring at. “Huh? Oh really? Sounds cool!” As long as she didn't have to drink it, everything was good. If she did, then, the answer was downright no. She reached for the materials, taking a handful of filter paper and then Scissors, sewing supplies, embroidery thread and paper for tags, all of which the house elves had kindly provided for them.
“I suck at sewing.”
She voiced this plainly, after having stared at the needle for a few solid minutes. She placed these items gingerly down on the table before examining the different tea leaves, “Hrrmmmm” She pondered, “I think I'll make a dolphin!” She exclaimed brightly, lifting her head to examine Janet's view on this. It was clear by her companions' expression that Janet supposed this was a bad idea. “Hmph” Ariana huffed, crossing her arms defiantly, “I'm not a total noob, I'm sure it's a ‘work it out as you go’ type of thing, right?” The last bit was somewhat to reassure herself.
To give it the effect as though it was swimming in the blue ocean, Ariana acquired the Butterfly pea flower tea, raising it to her eye level as she examined the pretty deep blue color. “This is awesome!” She breathed in awe, setting the jar down as she picked up her sewing materials again.
“Ah, bet i'll prove you wrong Jan.” She said cockily, keeping her eyes on the needle, “I'll be a pro at sewing in no time.” She waved her hand airily, flashing a grin to her best friend.
Casting her gaze back down to her work she fought down a laugh as she anticipated the dumbfounded ‘I-don't-think-you-know-what-you’re-doing’ expression she was sure Janet was sporting at this moment.

Interacting with: @Ariana WalkerAriana giggled as she sat down opposite from her. Once Janet had told her the activity they would be attempting she seemed much more enthusiastic than Janet had anticipated (but that wasn't saying very much, Janet had been expecting Ariana to throw up at the very mention of sewing and tea).
“Huh? Oh really? Sounds cool!”
"Wow I thought you'd puke at the thought of making tea bags," Janet said grinning.
Ariana reached for the materials and grabbed a fistful of the paper, cloth and sewing stuff. Janet followed her lead and started fiddling with the string, she had no clue what she was doing and was stalling in the hope that Ariana might have some experience so Janet could copy her actions, a few glances at her perplexed expression told her that Ariana was perhaps even more at a loss than her. After staring broodingly at the needle for a few minutes Ariana voiced her thoughts.
"I such at sewing."
"Well I'm not exactly a natural but I've had some experience, my grandmother made me practice sewing with her every time we visited. She said it might make me more lady-like." Janet made fake retching noises and laughed.
Ariana placed the items back on the table and chose a type of tea leave she thought fitting.
"Hrrmmmm I think I'll make a dolphin!”
Janet raised her eyebrows, although she had slightly bended the truth about having experience (she had avoided sewing as much as she could and had only done it about twice in her life... with failed results) she doubted Ariana had ever picked up a needle in her life. And a dolphin sounded difficult.
“Hmph I'm not a total noob, I'm sure it's a ‘work it out as you go’ type of thing, right?”
Janet laughed at her friend's defiant attitude.
"Sure thing Ari, but doesn't a dolphin sound pretty complicated?" She said teasingly, "I'm sure it's wayyyy above your level."
She laughed again and began to sift through the materials picking out the ones she would need, maybe she would do something simple, like a fish? Despite her cockiness Janet wasn't experienced at all and it would be better to do something simple than do something disastrously wrong, although she might even mess a goldfish up. But so what if there was a slight risk of it failing? Maybe a turtle. That would be cool.
“Ah, bet i'll prove you wrong Jan. I'll be a pro at sewing in no time." Ariana reassured Janet humorously.
Janet's eyes remained focused on her work.
"I'm sure you will Ari, I'm sure you will."
But Janet's competitive nature was stirred up immediately, she would not accept defeat and was determined to make an incredible turtle and beat Ariana's dolphin.
Her eyes snapped back up.
"But I'm sure I'll be even more of an expert" Janet said teasingly, she knew Ariana would likely take the bait and begin to work twice as hard.
That was the problem with Janet she just had to make everything a competition.WC: 350+211+513= 1074

"I'm sure it's wayyyy above your level."
Ariana scoffed, rolling her eyes with a grin as she stabbed the fabric with her needle. “Nothing is above my level” She said rather haughtily, “I bet i'm amazing at sewing” In fact as she held up her partly-done dolphin in front of her eyes, she was indeed convinced that it was coming together rather nicely. “Ah, see?” She said, rather satisfied with her work. “I would say its per-”
"But I'm sure I'll be even more of an expert"
Another huff escaped the young beater's lips and she shot her head up, knowing that Janet was determined to make this a competitive sport.
Now and then she earned a few stabs to her thumb as she focused on her teabag, determined to prove Janet wrong. Before she closed it up however, she made sure to fill the tea bag with the Butterfly pea flower tea leaves before sewing the last bit up. She had almost completely forgotten about their competition as she finished, placing her tea bag to the side before arranging her teacup and pouring hot water into it. She then picked up the tea bag and held it above the water for a few seconds before dropping it in. The effect was mesmerising. Her dolphin swam around in the contents of the teacup, the water turning blue as a consequence of the choice of tea leaves. Ariana stared, eyes glued to the dolphin that was now swimming around in the tea. Well it couldn't hurt to try and taste a bit, could it?
Eyes still focused on the tea, she grappled in front of her for Janet's arm- tapping her friend to get her attention. “Look! Ooohh! Its swimming!” She sounded like an over excited child, but she could care less, it had turned out really fun.
She raised the tea cup to her lips, taking a sip with her eyes squeezed shut. The liquid wasn't as bad as she had expected it to be. The flavor was subtle, but sweet. It wasn't at all as bad as she had anticipated. Although it wasn't something she would drink on the regular, coffee was the preferred beverage. She raised her head, casting her eyes momentarily to her teacup before turning to Janet. “Guess I won” She said smugly, “Have you finished your turtle thingy yet?”
