Slow down 'Roach Prodigal Finished

May was feeling what was called boredom. She looked at the Hufflepuff common room, at her roommate, and at her friends playing things or reading a good book. But the book she was reading had fell from her hands to her lap, and she hadn't even sensed the touch of the book hitting her legs.
The only thing she was interested right now was to get out of her unusual boredom, and yes, she knew exactly what to do. Running to the Plant Palace of the common room, she pushed open the door and looked around for her Charms book. Yes, it showed signs of frequent use, and it was, of course, year two, since she already knew all the spells of year one. She opened up the leather coated (and big) book, and went to the spell she was practicing. But she could not concentrate. If only she knew a muting charm for all of the people of the world! And then, she could shut them up with a wand movement as fast as a horse. Or a cockroach.

As May kept listening to the disturbing rambling and giggles of the Hufflepuff students, she decided to go where she loved most. One could ask if it was the library. Well, she had said to other people that yes, it was the lovely book filled library that she enjoyed the most, but that was not true. She loved the Charms Classroom more than any place at Hogwarts. When she had entered the school of wizardry in Britain, she had always thought that she would love Defense Against the Dark Arts, or maybe even Herbology. But no. DADA was ok, she guessed, but Herbology was too distracting. The professor wasn't too handsome young to teach? May wondered, rolling her eyes. She grumbled at the thought of Astronomy, her worst class of all. But, oh! What about Transfiguration? Well, yes, she loved that subject so, too. As much as she loved Charms.

In Charms, nothing could distract you. Nothing...nothing could stop you to simply recite an incantation and a wand movement and succeed. You could use that to help your friends, to help yourself, to help your family.
Or maybe to just jinx one of your friends up.

As May walked the corridors, into the...Third Floor that was. She was trying not to fall out of the stairs. Why were they jinxed anyway? May wondered, as she made her way, slowly not to disturb anyone, into the ginger cookie smelled classroom.
Seeing that nobody was in, she looked at which seat she should take. Aha! There it was. Her favorite seat. She sat and began to read up her Charms book. Such interesting things they were. As May read, she was distracted by something and looked down the floor. A cockroach? May raised an eyebrow. Just concentrating May, and you know you will do it.

She looked at the cockroach, and picked up her wand. Pointing at the cockroach's little but fast feet, she slowly shouted: <<Arresto Momentum!>> she 'drew' in the air the letter 'M'. That was the wand movement. The cockroach slowed down for a split second for May to marvel at her own work and crush it down with her shoe.

Internal thought: I have to wonder why on Earth would my Charms classroom have roaches in it? I...I keep my classroom clean. And I know that I have snacks hidden in my desk but they're not opened so...where did this insect come from?

Artemis would wonder this as he came around the corner after being alerted to someone being in his classroom and witnessed May Moonstar casting Arresto Momentum on the disgusting creature before smashing it with her foot. He was very distraught about the idea of his room being filled with bugs and he knew that he wasn't the culprit of the creepy crawlies being in there. It must have come from the Hufflepuff Common Rooms. Lord only knew that his old friend wasn't keeping track of all of his little badgers. Plus they're closer to the kitchens. The elves have lost their minds so maybe they're not cleaning properly either. That had to be it. Roaches in the Hufflepuff Common Room and the lass just brought one up with her into his classroom. Nevertheless, Artemis was about to go on a cleaning streak.
May Moonstar has successfully learned Arresto Momentum...and hurt a bit of my pride in the process.
