Dreams really do come true...
Aurelia walked down the corridor nervously, she had been thinking about this day for a while. The day she would finally learn to fly. She was thinking of her mother, a professional Quidditch player, who surely would be disappointed if it turned out that Aurelia was bad at flying. Her palms were sweating and she was furiously trying to keep herself calm as she walked out the big oak doors. A bit further she saw the training field, where dozens of brooms were lined up. The sight of them made Aurelias heart drop. She could already see the face of her mum, disappointed that yet another of children didn't share her talent. she had tried make her mum teach her for a couple of years now, but she had refused each time and only taught her theory. She arrived at the brooms, no one else was there. She was 5 minutes early and it seemed like the teacher hadn't arrived yet. Aurelia glanced at the brooms, they all looked old with twigs sticking out. They didn't look like the nice shiny, elegant brooms her mom owned. She sighed and looked around. The sun was high and wind was blowing through her hair gently. She closed her eyes and took in the nature when she heard someone running towards her.
This is the second version, because I'm stupid and locked the first one

Rose was excited. This would be her first time on a broom. And she couldn't wait. Rose walked with a ln obvious spring in her step. Not only was she going to get on a broom, but she would be doing it with her Gryffindor friends and fellow Quidditch fans, Aurelia and Mystery Anne. She had met them when they were watching the Gryffindor Quidditch players practice. They had instantly connected and had a lot of fun out there. Rose had fast walked to her first flying class from her last class. During her last class, she kept checking the time, willing the time to go faster. When she arrived at class, she was a little bit early. The teacher wasn't there, but one girl was. Rose regocnized her right away when she saw her blue tipped hair. It was Aurelia! Rose went and stood next to Aurelia, saying, "Well, fancy seeing you here," her voice was light-hearted. "I'm so excited," she whispered, mostly to herself, anticipation bubbling, fizzing, and cracking like a fire inside of her. She rocked on her heels for a little bit before detecting a hint of concern in Aurelia's eyes. "You okay?" her eyes and voice were concerned.

Aurelia turned and saw Rose running towards her. The sight of her immediately made her feel better. "Well, fancy seeing you here," said Rose "I'm so excited," Aurelia smiled, typical Rose always happy and energetic, especially when it had something to do with flying. Rose immediately spotted that something bothered Auri and said: "You okay?". Twirling her hair blue-tipped hair, Aurelia looked up at Rose and nodded. "Well, I'm just nervous. You know?", Aurelia looked at her for validation then turned to look at the brooms and said: "What if it turns out I completely suck at flying? What will my mum think?". She saw Rose's concern and quickly said: "I'll be fine. Don't worry" She felt weird acting this way, normally she was overly confident about everything, and nervousness just didn't suit her. She spotted the teacher flying overhead and said to Rose: "Seems like the teacher is here. Where is Mystery Anne? Did you see her?" Auri looked around, a few students had gathered but under the eager faces was no Mystery Anne. She sighed: "I hope she won't be late. Class is about to start" as if on queue the Professor landed in front of them and all students brought their attention to him. Aurelia smiled, this was the day she had been dreaming of since she was a small child. Even if all went wrong, Auri was determined to make it a happy memory and she knew having her friends by her side would certainly help.

"You won't suck at flying," Rose reasured Aurelia. "It's in your blood. And even if you do turn out to have zero natural talent, I think the Aurelia I know wouldn't let that stop her. If you work hard enough, you can be even better than those with natural talent. And your mom loves you and will be proud of you matter what." Rose may have been saying it to Aurelia to reassure her, but really, she was also reasuring herself, too.
Hoping she had said the right things, she answered, "No, I haven't seen Mystery Anne... I hope she isn't late..." Rose looked around, scanning the other Gryffindor faces for the bubbly girl. There was still a little time until class officially started, so Mystery Anne wasn't late, but if she didn't hurry up and get here, she could be. Rose wondered what could be taking so long. Maybe she got lost. That happened a lot at the beginning of the year. Rose had had several exploring expoditions and she still got lost sometimes. Good thing the teachers knew about this and some cut them slack. Some other teachers, though... She hoped this teacher was the kind that cut Mystery Anne slack. Rose anxiously and excitedly bounced on her feet, waiting.

Mystery Anne ran as though her life depended on it. She wasn't normally late. She was also not one those early birds. She comes to class just in time to find a seat in the middle of the class, if they could choose their own seats, and read a few notes in her notebook before the teacher comes in. This time, though, she was later than usual. She certainly hoped she'll arrive earlier than their professor.
As she ran noisily on the corridors leading to the ground where the flying class was held, she wondered if Aurelia and Rose Moon werethere. She couldn't remember asking if they had the same class but she cetainly hoped they had. It would be more fun if that was the case. If they were classmated, she will have someone to share notes with in class. And, someone to share with an opinion on their lessons, classmates and teachers.
A smile appeared despite her worries about being late. Well, not exactly late, but later than her usual arrival time in a class.
She finally arrived on the grounds and sighed in frustration as she spied their professor. But the class hadn't started yet, so that was something. She was pleasantly surprised to see Aurelia and Rose already there talking.
She must be the last student to arrive. She didn't like that. She must make an effort to arrive earlier. But she slept late last night after reading through her lessons on Astronomy. She regretted borrowing another book for reference on her homework because it obligated her to read more.
"Hi! We're classmates!" she gasped reaching the two girls.
"I thought I was going to be late!" she exclaimed breathing heavily. "That was some exercise. I'm not doing this again!"

Auri listened to Rose's reassuring words and calmed herself down. "You're right. I can do this!", she said smiling. How good it was to have a reassuring friend, she thought happily. Rose didn't know where Mystery Anne was either and Aurelia was starting to worry, they had maybe 2 minutes before class and still no sign of Mystery Anne. What if she was in trouble? Then, suddenly someone said behind her: "Hi! We're classmates!". Aurelia spun around and saw Mystery Anne. Her face lit up, she quickly hugged her and said: "Hey, we were starting to worry about you!". She glanced towards the front, where the teacher was still taking attendance. When he called Aurelia's name she replied with a hasty: "Here!", then turned back towards her friends. "I thought I was going to be late!" exclaimed Mystery Anne "That was some exercise. I'm not doing this again!" Aurelia laughed, but at that moment the teacher started his lecture about the rules of flying and Auri gave him her full attention. She was determined to remember his every word, and with every second that passed, she got more excited about flying and her nerves calmed down. When he finally finished, they were instructed to summon their brooms. Flying mode inside Aurelia turned on, she was calm, focused, and ready. She looked down at her broom, whose twigs weren't quite as bent as some of the other ones. She glanced towards her friends and then back to the broom. In a clear, slightly stern voice she commanded: "Up!"

Rose smiled as Aurelia became more determined. She had done something right. Every time she heard footsteps approaching, she whipped her head around to see if it was Mystery Anne. A thin layer of anxiety was growing over her Excitement, stifling it. She shifted her weight to her right leg. Hearing fast-running footsteps, Rose jerked her head around. A puffing Mystery Anne was sprinting in their direction. The anxiety instantly disappeared, leaving plenty of room for her excitement to keep burning inside her.
"You made it!" she said as Mystery Anne came to her right.
The teacher then began his lesson, talking for what seemed like forever. All Rose wanted to do was get on with the interactive part of the lesson. She tried her best to listen, though, hanging on every word for tips and direction. Then, finally, he instructed them to say, 'up!'
"Up!" Rose said loudishly, a firm kind of tone in her voice. The rest of the class erupted into ups. She didn't know what exactly she was expecting, but the broom didn't fly up into her hand immediately. It twitched, though. Taking a deep breath, Rose said it again, louder this time, "UP!!!" To her delight, the broom obeyed and darted into her right hand. She smiled to herself.

Mystery Anne stood by her broom with anticipation. This was it. This will test whether she had it in her to fly. She had read books about flying, studied them until she dreamt about them. And they all say the same thing. If you're meant to fly. You'll fly.
She looked over at Aurelia and Rose. They were all looking as eager she was. That was to be expected, though. They were all a fan of Quidditch. Naturally, they would be excited to learn how to fly.
Mystery Anne listened intently on the lesson. She'd write down later some of the things the Professor had said that she had missed or forgot reading about. Then, the class was now moving on to the more practical part. She could barely control her excitement. She breathed deeply to control herself.
"Don't get too excited, pet. You won't control your broom with it. Relax and concentrate," her mother had said when she asked about flying.
"Speak firmly and mean it," was the advise from her father.
Relax. Concentrate. She reminded herself. Then as instructed, she raised her hand, palms down above the broom lying on the ground to her right. She closed her eyes and cleared her mind of thoughts. She focused only on the broom and word she was supposed to speak to command it.
"Up!" she commanded with a firm voice and without shouting too much but loud enough to be heard by a few students. To her surprise, the broom flew up exactly to her waiting hand. She grinned as she gripped the floating broom tightly.

"Up!", Aurelia shouted. She had made sure that she followed her mother's advice, which was to be clear and slightly stern, like teaching a puppy. She looked expectantly at the broom and after a split-second of hesitation the broom rushed up into her hand. Relief was written plainly on her face, she had done the command more as an instinct and it worked well, maybe Rose was right about flying being in her blood. She looked proudly at the other two, who both had brooms in their hands as well. Aurelia's grin widened and she high-fived the others. She looked at the broom clasped in her hand, and a thought rushed through her head. Should I try and mount it? She decided yes, grabbed the broom with both hands, and swung her right leg over. It took her a second before she found the correct spot that was perfectly balanced. Auri pulled her legs up... and balanced. Now that she had mounted, it all felt natural like this was something she had done before. A gust of wind roared through her blue-tipped hair and she smelled the afternoon breeze. She closed her eyes, taking in every second then let go of her hands and felt the wind rush through her fingers, her fingertips feeling slightly cold. It took her a while before she returned to reality, but eventually, she opened her eyes. She then extended her legs, slowly letting the cool grass touch her toes. Happily, she looked at Rose and Mystery Anne.

Mystery Anne grinned back at Aurelia. She was also holding her broom proudly. When she turned towards Rose, she was also smiling. It seemed they were all off on a good start. In no time they'd be able to try out for their team. Then, they'd be competing in Quidditch matches. She could almost feel the sharp cold breeze hitting her face as she flashes from one end of the pitch to the other. She could almost imagine she was holding the beater instead of ther broom.
When she finally stopped day dreaming, she realized it was time for her to try and mount the broom. She must not try to fly it though. Not yet at least. She must master holding on to her seat first. That was second on her list of things to remember when she finally started learning flying.
She mounted the broom as instructed. Adjusting her seat so she was comfortable. She leaned slight forward and gripped the upper part of her broom. Everything was going well so far. Then it was time to float. She pushed her feet tentatively against the ground so she hovered for a second or two before it came down along with her. A frown formed on her brow. Maybe, she needed to push a little harder. But not too hard that it would launch her.
She tried a second time. This time, she kicked off the ground. She'd put just enough force so she could push herself and her broom up. This time she was higher than her earlier experience. But that was okay. She was still low enough that if she fell, she'll not be injured. She wiggled and made herself more comfortable. She was enjoying floating too much. She almost leaned forward to test if she could make the broom move. But, somehow, she managed to stop herself.
Getting down was a bit trickier. But eventually, she managed to force her broom lower. Then she jumped off the broom. It wasn't what they were supposed to do. But she was afraid that if she didn't jump off, she'll just continue to hover. She'll need to practice more on that, she noted to herself.
