It was quite the lovely day on the grounds of Hogwarts, what with the clouds covering the sky’s massive expanses, bringing a cool blanket of shade to the grounds of the lovely Hogwarts. A perfect breeze blew through the air, chilly and gentle, a welcome breath of relief granted by the universe, whistling off the edges of the fair castle in the most lovely sort of way, sending ripples upon the water of the Great Lake and tousling the clothes of any wayward traveler who dared journey upon the grounds. The same breeze stirred the grass, sending little dandelion petals floating through the air, disturbing the flower blossoms that had once sat idly upon the grass, blowing loosely in the wind as birds flew overhead, decorating the skies in a lovely torrent of feathers. Few students mulled about the courtyards, leaving the grounds rather empty, nearly void at life, the wind less than optimal for studying or meeting with friends. A welcome blessing, Rafael supposed, as his eyes surveyed the pitch, looking for his partners. Less distractions made for a more successful errand.
It wasn’t often, he supposed, that one found themselves in the position to compete as an errand. After all, teachers really seemed to go with the mushy-gushy school-excelling options, such as decorator errand, or love notes, or things that generally made a woman want to put on a Hallmark Movie. And, really, that was all good and fun. For some. For the young Gryffindor, such activities had always bored him, he supposed. Where was the excitement in writing gushy, compromising letters? Or, picking flowers? What kind of man woke up in the morning, wanting to make some embroidery? Such things slightly disgusted the boy and his fine tastes, leaving a sour bile in his throat and his head sore from the very concept of such vile acts. No, there were some activities that he simply couldn’t force himself to partake in, House Points or no. A man’s code simply could not be broken.
[Well, broken more. After all, he could vaguely remember taking part in half the offered errands.]
He wasn’t currently sure which genius was responsible for the Relay Race errand, but to put it frankly, that teacher had earned his undying respect. It was just… so smart. Why write an essay about how awesome the female race was when you could climb some monkey bars? It was an errand that the boy could properly enjoy – after all, it was no secret that the child leaned towards the more athletic options offered by the school and its many facets. The advertisement for such an activity had immediately caught his eye on the billboard, his mind already spinning concepts of what the race would entail, who his trusty partners would be, which teacher would be his scrutinizing timer. Alas, theorizing could take a man nowhere. Which meant that the young Captain would have to start rallying his troops.
After little consideration, it became clear to him who his partners for the race were to be.
Willow was a rather sweet girl, all smiles and energy, traits that the boy had been able to pick up on from the little time he’d spent with her, in the owlery, and at the ball. Yet, there was something more to that energy… she was unlike any girl he’d met at Hogwarts thus far, an adventurous, brave sort of girl, not far off from a Gryffindor in the way that she’d had his back, though his request at the ball had been asking of a lot. He didn’t know her all that well, but if her sunny vibes alone weren’t enough to satiate the boy’s respect, then her valiant, warrior-like actions certainly did the trick. After the events of the cursed ball, the boy hadn’t gotten the chance to talk to her again, a fact that helped little to alleviate his growing anxiety. Specifically, regarding the Umbridge Murder and the disastrous Vampyr Mosps. What better time to bond more, then a good-natured obstacle course?
On the other end of the spectrum, Charlie was a real friendly fellow, but that wasn’t to say he was a fearsome foe in and of himself. Specifically on the Quidditch Field. God, that kid could score. He was one of the reasons that Rafael was so proud to be the Gryffindor Quidditch Captain, having supposedly been responsible for his ability. During their impromptu practice after the big game, it had certainly come as a surprise, Charlie’s lack of knowledge regarding Quidditch and its facets. That went to prove the boy’s flexibility in new situations, not to mention his aptitude for learning new things. The Captain had found a sort of likeness towards his fellow chaser, and for a while, had been longing to speak to him again, properly meet the Quaffle-adept boy with the Silver Arrow.
Looking around the pitch absently, the boy would glance down at his watch, before sparing a look at the aggravated timer, patiently biding their time in waiting for the other two participants of the relay race. Where were they? Perhaps finding out was only a matter of patience. After all, the day was still young, not to mention that he’d arrived a few minutes early, in the hopes of yanking his reeling mind from the clutches of sleep. Too many nights of staring at the ceiling of the common room had taken a toll on his health, he supposed. But that didn’t matter, he was ready for whatever Kibitzer had to throw at him. His lips pursed themselves in an inquiring manner, his eyes skimming the field for his impromptu team in a curious manner. Would they be on time?

The Dream Team
Interacting with @Rafael D'Spacito Mentioning @Charlie Woodward Rosalind Kibitzer

Willow was a rambunctious energy filled child. Especially with the coming of spring there was no shortage of energy that she felt the need to get rid of in her body. At home she would often spend her days running around her family's backyard, climbing trees in the forest, often she would exhaust herself before dinner. Being at Hogwarts was different, academics took up most of her time and she felt like there was a loss of energy spending activities. Maybe it was what drew her to Quidditch so much, she was always exhausted after practice mentally and physically and it was exactly what she needed especially in the warm weather that seemed to fuel her.
That's why she was filled with so much joy when she received a letter from the Thunderbutt bird himself asking for her to participate in a relay race. She was incredibly fast and agile, why wouldn't he pick her? If he wanted to win she was an obvious choice. There was another name mentioned in the letter, a Charlie. She knew who he was just from knowing who else was on the other Quidditch teams and knew he was a force to be reckoned with. They were going to be absolutely unstoppable.
As she approached the pitch, her hair was tied back into two tight braids to make sure her hair would stay out of her face. It was her go to hairstyle for Quidditch as well, incredibly practical and incredbly cute. Just her style. There was a literal skip in her step as she made her way down, when she spotted Rafa she burst into a small run and called out to him with a wave. "Rafa!" Before he could turn around she leaped onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. "Are you ready to totally dominate this thing? Because I am!! I made sure to eat fruits and veggies this morning so I'm ready to go!" She ruffled his hair, and scanned the field to look at what they were up against. "Dibs on monkey bars! I can absolutely destroy those in no time. Please let me do the monkey bars!" She had maybe too much energy? Her gaze stopped on Professor Kibitzer and waved her way. Willow laid her head on Rafa's shoulder, just hanging out for the moment before the race begins.

"Rafa! Are you ready to totally dominate this thing?”
Now, Rafa was known for a lot of things. His Captain status. Flighty nature. Ill classtime manners. However, above all, those who knew even the slightest about him, knew of his fear of jump scares. Growing up on the streets of Buenas Aires, the child had learned long ago that surprise attacks were a terrible time, even when they were made in the name of friendship. Which was why, when Willow hit him like a sack of bricks – light bricks, ladies – jumping onto his back in raw excitement and joy for the situation they were to share, the child nearly had a panic attack on the spot, his eyes shooting wide and his breath escaping him for a short moment as his balance wavered, rocking between his two feet. It was strange, as he really should have anticipated such an ambitious move from the crazy, energetic Willow. It was for this reason, that a grin crept onto his face, his eyebrows wiggling as he recovered from her koala-tackle. “Where have you been?” he joked about, cocking his head to the side in question as he playfully [albeit gently] bounced, as if trying to buck her off. “Do you have any idea the glares I’ve been getting?” Teachers didn’t like him, it wasn’t a secret, as he certainly did cause them a lot of hassle. But no matter. Grinning wider, “What kind of question is that, now? You’ve gotta ask? You realize I’m a Captain? Winning is just what I do, is it not?”
It was a prod, all in good fun, evident by the shit-eating grin on his face, humor in his eyes. Though, it was in that moment, that he found a bout of curiosity wash over his train of thought – “Monkey bars?” he voiced aloud, eyebrow raised in amusement and question. It was an odd request… though he wouldn’t question it. Everyone had their reasons, he supposed. Besides, he’d had his eye set on a different activity. “If you’re taking that, then I’ll do the hurdles,” he announced in concession with her own request, a bout of elation attacking his senses as Willow rested her head on his shoulder. She was too cute. “Guess that leaves Charlie the rope net…” Where was he?
The eyes of the Captain scanned the grounds for his fellow player, no where to be found. Strange, he was usually punctual. And, while he would love to wait, they couldn’t stay out all day long. The Captain would be surprised if they even got a few minutes more of time – while they may have had the teacher’s pet on the team, such titles would surely be canceled out in double by one of the staff’s youngest nuisances. He supposed they would have to apologize to Charlie later, for if they didn’t act soon, there would be no more activity to work on. “S’pose we should go ahead and get started, then,” he voiced absently, a small frown now taking his features as he searched the pitch for his friend one last time. Then, the blonde beauty being nowhere in sight, “Charlie can just… join in, whenever he gets here.”
And, that was that. It was time for action now – the child would kneel down, as if asking the Hufflepuff to dismount her noble steed, before he stood to his full height, a staggering 5’4, opting to shake out his limbs as he focused his gaze on the hurdles he was to face. From the distance he stood, they looked small, shorter than the fences he used to jump in his glory days, back in Argentina. A shame, he would have preferred more of a challenge. But he supposed it was all in good fun, as it would make their collective times faster. Waiting until his muscles were nice and loose, he kneeled back into a running stance, balancing on the balls of his feet. Then, steeling himself, he nodding at Willow, sending her a charming smile and quick question. “Hey, you ready?”
He would wait a few moments for her concession, before starting in a full-out sprint at the hurdles. A small smile played on his lips at the deja-vu that was washing over his senses as he began running, his hand shortly meeting the first hurdle, legs swinging over in one fluid, visibly well-practiced motion. If it weren’t for the fences he’d hopped in his youth, then one could gladly blame his expertise on sports-related knowledge. It was no secret that the boy was practically a prodigy in all things physical, after all, especially that which involved his feet. His only worry in the moment, was the timer’s opinion on his takes in hurdling. His movements weren’t what one would call typical hurdling form, after all. But he was no horse. [Well, maybe for Willow. But that was it.] A human method would prove beneficial, would it not? Would points be counted off?
He would have no time to consider this further, as he’d promptly jumped the last hurdle, marking Willow’s time to shine. He would look over his shoulder, cupping his hands together as if to focus his voice – “Finished!” he’d yell, before sending her a thumbs up. It was then, that he found his curiosity piqued once more – what was Willow like, on the monkey bars?

The Dream Team
Interacting with @Rafael D'Spacito
Mentioning @Rosalind Kibitzer for that sweet sweet approval.
Rafa's attempt at bucking her off was futile as she kept a steadily tight, but not uncomfortable grip. She was just trying to chill out and he was doing this, how rude. Quickly a joking pout came over her face as he had the audacity to ask her where she had been. She wasn't even that late! "I was warming up, thank you very much. And hey, I'm not even the last of our team here. Where is Charlie anyway? I was excited to meet him formally. I've only heard of him really because of Quidditch." She paused and teasingly poked his cheek. "Are you sure they were glaring at you or staring at your freakishly tall height for your age? I would definitely stare at you for that reason." With how far apart their heights were it wasn't hard to just continually make height based jokes. If he ever got too mean about it though, she was prepared to take him out at the knees. That was a promise.
Their combined Quidditch prowess was also something to be envied for. Him, a successful captain winning their last game against Slytherin. Then Willow, an all star keeper that blocked a goal and saved her Captain all in one game. Her first game no less. "Don't forget, it's what I do too. I'm quite the keeper when it comes to being on a team." She followed it up with a cheeky wink. It was a joke she used often, it was low hanging fruit based on her Quidditch position, but fruit none the less to be harvested.
He seemed to question her decision for her tackling, quite literally later on, the monkey bars. But she often climbed trees and frolicked through forests, it wasn't an abnormal task for her. "You'll see. You'll be amazed, trust me." She had a secret trick up her sleeve, one that she was hoping would get her even more in the favor of her favorite professor. Even though... she wasn't even technically her professor yet. Her eyes drifted once more over to Professor Kibitzer, spotting her timing the last groups. They really needed to get started and Rafael seemed to echo her thoughts exactly. Starting to ponder where Charlie could be. It was a three person race, but they would have to start off with two and hope that their spectacular third showed up. "If anything we could just tackle the rope net together if he's not here by the time that we need to do that to finish." As he was crouching to let her off, Willow simply let go and slid to the ground. Her feet softly hit the ground and she wiggled out her legs to get them all warm again. She wasn't particularly worried about her arm strength for this.
With a small nod, "Let's do this Thunderbird." He was off, and Willow positioned herself at the beginning of the monkey bars for when he finished his part. It had to be helpful that he was tall for him to tackle the hurdles, but it didn't make his ease of success any less impressive. She would have to ask him later if he did this kind of stuff before Hogwarts. She knew that track often existed in muggle schools but he seemed like a professional at it. Her cheers of support and encouragement filled the already energetic air. "Come on Rafa! Show those hurdles what you're made of! Let's go!" She did various whoops and hollers until he called his finish and she burst off.
Her eyes narrowed in on the monkey bars in front of her. Quickly she climbed up the beginning steps that were there to help you get to the height of the bars themselves, but that would take too long to swing. So instead, she jumped and grabbed onto the first bar, pulled herself up and simply ran across the top of the bars. It was something she would always do as a kid that would absolutely frighten her parents when she did it, but at this point she rarely fell while doing it. She kept her eyes on her feet looking towards the next step, and her arms out to maintain her balance. When she reached the end, she jumped off and let herself tumble clumsily on the ground. Laughing as she did so.
The impact did strike some pain through her legs, but nothing major that she couldn't just walk off. For now the adrenaline coursed through her body. Even if Charlie didn't show up, and they didn't win or get best time. What mattered is that she was having fun with Rafael, and getting outdoor activity that she so craved deep in her body since coming to Hogwarts. She stood up and dusted herself off, quickly attempting to find Professor Kibitzer to see her reaction to her ingenious method to overcoming the monkey bars. At the very least, she had to hope that it was even allowed that she conquered them that way.

The Dream Team
Charlie was what one might call... dreadfully late. The whole day had been practically a warzone... And he was late. He'd really planned to be there on time, the invitation sent by one Rafael D'Spacito, his Quidditch Captian, really meant something to him. He was happy to finally have been making friends after the blunders which occured... last year. He was finally being more social! Finally making friends again. It was exciting-- if he wasn't such a terrible timekeeper- that is.
He and Rafael had been on good terms for awhile, and he wanted to show the captian he meant business- the invite was impromtu, but one he was genuinely thankful for-- one he was happy to recieve. He was stoked to finally have a guy friend! It had been girls since the summer before his first year- he was really happy to finally not feel left out, considering this was one of the rare times when he'd ever been invited to an errand. (Not that he was particularly interested in house points, as an American, the system made no sense.) but either way, he wanted to be there for his new friend!
And then today happened. Good lord, today certainly happened.
Where would he even begin with the slew of things he'd been through before finding himself bounding down the halls of the caslte, stuffling to make it to the training pitch? His alarm didn't go off this morning, so he overslept (woke up only after a bird hit the window next to his bed, which startled him so much he screamed), missed his first class. He had an owl attack him during brunch- where he'd been sitting out in the courtyard! Then, well, he forgot his homework, and the extra credit he'd meant to turn in for potions- Lunch was... a social nightmare, one he wasn't even daring to broach at the moment. His study hall was spent trying to find his tie which he'd only JUST realised he forgot... and he'd forgoten about this relay race.
Terrible timing, really, his forgetfulness. He never was this forgetful, usually- it just so happened nature was out for him, on the one day he really wanted to be there.
But he was determined to get there in time, and compete with his newfound friend, and possibly meet a new one in a girl Rafael mentioned to be one Willow Anderson, who sounded rather pleasant. He was determined to show his Captain, even if he was a year below him, that he was going to hold himself accountable!
That determination could be heard throughout the halls of the wings as he nearly fell down the stairs, through the courtyard, across the bridge, through the grounds (where he promptly tripped over a large rock he had not been aware of until he was eating dirt) before accidentally going to the ACTUAL quidditch pitch (out of habit) before rearing back and making his way, finally, into the training pitch- bolting in with a desperate search for his teammates.
He felt terrible, was he incompetent for being late? For forgetting? Honestly, he was surprised he even survived the sprint across the field without slipping on the mud under him, although his face and sweater was already covered in mud, so he supposed it wouldnt make much difference if he sprinkled his icing with turf.
Finally, he spotted his teammates, who were promptly already done, and waiting for him. Ah, that just made him feel worse.
"Rafael! Miss Anderson!" He called out, running towards them with strained breaths. "I-I am SO sorry I'm late! I-I was all the way on the other side of the castle, ties... owl- ROCK!" His brain was a little fried, making him incapable of fully explaining his tardiness. "-But I'm here now-- I-I'm on the rope net, right?" He turned to the course, before taking a double take to nod his head to Willow Anderson. "Charlie Woodward, by the way, Miss Anderson. A pleasure to meet you an' all that." His texan accent was probably insufferable under the emotional stress of running he just did.
He didn't waste any time- seeing as he already had- prepping himself up to hopefully not fail as he'd been doing so thus far that day. All he had to do was complete the rope course, it wasn't hard- it wasn't impossible. Considering he'd used to run through the forest, hopping and swinging off branches-- as long as he did that again, it would be the same thing, right?"
He cracked his knuckles, beginning his course with the timer beating in the back of his head, focusing on his breaths as he tried to work through his section of the relay race. He tried desperately to ignore the parts of his brain that felt as if he wasn't good enough, or he'd failed his classmates because of happenstance and issue. He focused on his movements, his body, the ropes- making it through without any hassle, trying to imagine as if it were his forest back home, rocks and trees and branches and old tire swings- he tried so hard to get into his element, despite jumping into the course without having drank any water or caught any breaths- He was jumping right into it as if him running across the campus had not just happened- as if he didnt desecend nearly 10 fligths of stairs, an eat dirt on his way here.
Eventually, he did find that rhythm he was used to, that satisfaction, that flow as he followed through the course, and the thoughts left him in an ephemperal moment of running, jumping, and mauvering his way through this course.
And then he was done, and the timer completed.
He turned to look at his teammates, taking a single step towards them before falling flat on his face, having lost his balance in a moment of rather in-character misfortune for that day, the turf making his mud smudges all the more obvious. He groaned.
"Got it done!" he announced in the dirt, deciding it might be safer to just stay down, now that he'd completed. "How was my time, Rafael?"
