── The throbbing pain in Ceclia’s head left feeling incredibly disorientated. She had been hit by bludgers many times before but a bat? That was a new one. A really painful one. Two bludgers and now a whack - that girl truly had it out for her. Then again that was often the tragic fate of a keeper. She would certainly be reporting back to Lottie about how her experience in the position of keeper totally sucked. And if Lottie would not listen, Milica would likely have to endure that conversation.
It was rather difficult to focus on Livia as she flew forward. For a moment it almost seemed like there were two of her. Unless she had learnt some duplicate spell, that seemed very improbable and very wrong. There was no attempt to hide her shock when she blocked the Quaffle. It was as though there were multiple Quaffles flying at her whenever Livia tried to score – a horrifying sight really.
Cecilia could only offer Livia a faint smile when the girl nodded before clutching her head. Admittedly, she was not a girl of many thoughts, but it was a struggle to form any coherent thought. She would certainly be swinging by the hospital wing to get herself checked up after this match, even if she remained conscious.──

When looping around the pitch – just as stiff and inactive as a horse-shaped seat on carousel – one had little to do but observe the play carrying on without them. Sabrina, the lone 'one' in this scenario, did just that. Not begrudgingly, per se. It has been a while since she's learned that paying attention to your teamates' actions and situation proved more useful than fully zeroing in on your own role. Still, her forced uselessness stung in a way she decided to ignore. Not an ideal response to it, but better than taking the self-set bait and spiralling, she supposed.
It was rather fortunate that no one deemed her essential enough to forcefully drag back into the game – no bludger, sharp elbow or such aimed at her direction. Actually, their beater ignored the rough ball entirely as she sped towards the hoops, raising her bat and – the raven's eyes widened a second before the impact, jaw dropping as she watched in astonishment and slight horror as the charcoal haired girl brought her bat forward, hitting the opposing keeper. Wincing, her grey eyes lingered on the scene for a beat longer, trying to get a glimse of the red-head's face. Was she hurt? Well, obviously, but will she be okay without immediate medical attention? Her successful block of a quaffle seconds later was a good enough sign that, yes, she was well enough not to faint and flop off her broom anytime soon. Despite the points unscored, a relieved sigh left the penalised chaser's lips, eyes slipping away from the action, noting the failed attack at their beater – great – and the shift in their seeker's posture, her movement more purposeful as she went after the golden, flickering spark – even better.

Finding the snitch should not be this hard. Dahlia's grasp on her broom tightened. Her gaze locked on to the space directly ahead of her and the shouts of her teammates faded into the distance. Unfortunately, the universe did not look upon the tired Gryffindor with favor and the snitch had not chosen that moment to fly in front of Dahlia's nose. Her breath beat in her lungs but she had no time to spare on recovery.
The witch darted upwards, then downwards, then upwards, then downwards. No orderly strategy had worked for Dahlia yet. Hence, perhaps, the avoidance of all strategy would. Perhaps she had to stop thinking about the snitch in order to catch the snitch. Such thoughts struck the Gryffindor as impossible so she ignored them. She was thinking about the snitch. As it was, Dahlia would still be thinking about the snitch at five in the evening on the following night. She could not, simply, drift through the wind with little aspiration towards the golden bird. The golden bird ought to feel her passion, her desire to find it. Then, perhaps, it would decide she was worthy of noticing it.
Dahlia continued lapping the court in search of the snitch.

She wasn’t ready to give up on Ophelia just yet. Despite their last attempt at taking the girl out of play not having well, they were positioned well enough to try again. Remy’s continued indecipherable yelling into her ear was only encouraging her. The faster she was gone, the sooner her ears would have some peace again.
She watched closely, looking for an opportunity where she could get a good angle for Remy. Preferably so good that they wouldn’t have to send another one. Jada had taken her eyes off Ophelia for just a second when she’d disappeared, off into the direction of their keeper, Cecilia. “That little…” she muttered under her breath, flying after her.
She attempted a new strategy. “Hey Ophelia!” she called out, giving the girl a full view of her pearly white teeth. “You feeling alright over there?” It was more as an attempt to distract her from hitting either Bludger or person with that bat of hers.
A rogue bludger meant another opportunity, and they sure weren’t about to waste it. Remy sent it off once more. Maybe it was something about his size but whatever strength he had, it didn’t make up for his poor accuracy as Ophelia dodged it, once again.

Once again, the Cloudbreakers were immensely lucky that it seemed the opposing chasers weren’t too interested in the quaffle as, as both Livia and Denise, their keeper, raced to the ball, the three hoops were left completely empty. Having been caught exercising her free will a little too much and forced to do a penalty lap in the previous few moments, Cecilia seemingly took this as a sign to stay where a keeper was supposed to be: racing between their hoops.Quaffle Actions
It almost seemed like the pair of Cloudbreakers were working effectively as a team as Dido saw Denise race towards the Quaffle, looking as if she intended to pass it to Livia, but, as the ball just skated against her hand, it pushed a finger back and Denise dropped it. The next few moments passed in similar fashion as each of the three took their turn to make a blunder with the ball. Dido turned away. They were boring her and apparently not even that technically brilliant to watch. While Dido’s back was turned, Livia managed to throw the Quaffle into the hoops a total of four times, the fifth attempt only being narrowly saved by Cecilia,

Excited that, at last, it seemed like one of the seekers had seen something, Dido looked at Amethyst with a grin which quickly turned to a frown as the girl hovered in the air, near to the other second year on her team. Sabrina and Amethyst almost looked like they were planning something though, while they did little, Dahlia eagerly continued her fruitless search. The Snitch
“Hey!” Dido shouted at the more stationary girls, “Get on with it, already!”
Several seconds after the words had left her mouth, Dido covered it with her hands, regretting the shout. Perhaps she was getting a little too into the thrill of the game.

Dismayed by the predictable outcome with the quaffle and the lack of snitch activity, Dido turned to the most exciting pair of players in the game: Jada and Remy. The two raced over to the bludger, Remy holding his bat ready and, to Dido’s utter delight, said boy whacked it towards one of the players a little further down the pitch. Unfortunately for the Cloudbreakers, the bludger was sent hurtling towards Ophelia, who was already looking a little dazed. Whether the poor girl saw it or not, it didn’t matter as the bludger was flying so quickly and with such force that there was little that could be done. Almost in slow motion, Ophelia toppled from her broom, which was thankfully reasonably low down, and fell down to the ground below.Bludgering

[/b]Having probably seen the way Amethyst’s face had lit up when she spotted the golden snitch, Elisa made her way across to the determined girl, forgoing her Chaser responsibilities in the process. Thankfully, the younger Slytherin, intentionally or accidentally, chose that moment to soar a little further down the pitch, causing Elisa to miss her intended foul. While Dido wasn’t quite certain whether Elisa had actually been meaning to do anything against the rules, she felt that it was her duty to support the team who had just lost a player and so cried out, “Shakestra! The most impactful result of her and Remy sharing a broom was that they couldn’t be both chaser and beater simultaneously. They’d left Elisa on her own to score for the team, having opted instead to take people out permanently. This meant that the Cloudbreakers were dominating possession of the quaffle.
She sent Elisa a look, trying to apologize for leaving her on her own. They stood no chance of winning, that much was clear, but the least they could do was go down with a fight. Shakestra, too, seemed to have realized this and risked a foul. She headed towards Amethyst, the other team’s seeker. If only she’d been a bit faster or Amethyst a more oblivious, the seeker wouldn’t have stood a chance, but fate wasn’t on their side and their only chaser was now out of play.
She and Remy were on a roll. She steered, he hit. And always, always, towards Ophelia.
Jada had grown a sense of dislike towards her, purely because of this match and the adrenaline pumping through her. Whether it was healthy or not, she did not care much, only that the Gryffindor should be taken out. Perhaps part of her longed to take revenge for when Gryffindor beat them earlier in the year.
This time was just like all their other attempts only, Remy hit harder, the bludger flew faster and Ophelia got hit harder, than ever. Her classmate tumbled off her broom after the flying ball hit her with a heavy thud. Jada let out a loud whoop, lifting her hands off the broom in celebration, then quickly putting them back when she lost balance. “WE DID IT!” she yelled to Remy, they’d gotten Ophelia and they would be getting many more…

Where the hell is Shakestra, she thought as Machavariani scored 40 points. At this point, Team 1 was doing so poorly that the Cloudbreakers didn't even need Denise to be keeper. They had a massive 90-point difference, and with a few more, she really did hope Castillo caught it soon; she really hoped the game would end soon. And the fact that Machavariani was able to score more than Shakestra, despite being two years younger, Denise had to appreciate her, for much to her own horror, she is rather useless.
Blake and Break, well, poor Blake and Break with his bloody grin, bludgered poor Vanderbilt out of her broom. She winced as Vanderbilt crashed into the grass.
Denise couldn't believe it. Vanderbilt was KOB. So quickly, and with a small team of 5, she knew no one would bother to save Vanderbilt. Denise had to score, and Vanderbilt had to do this or that, too much to her own horror, she was gone.
Well, a team without a beater felt empty indeed. And well, the drama wasn't over.
Shakestra tried to blatch Castillo, much to her own horror, and Denise glared at Shakestra. To her own delight, Castillo, likely feeling a bit more cautious after Vanderbilt's own KOB evaded.
She wasn't very happy now, with poor Vanderbilt completely out and now, with rogue bludgers, ready to smack them away.

There lay few difficulties in resigning oneself to the ebb and flow of the game. Given a routine, Livia easily slipped into the role she would play. Reaching for the Quaffle grew ever more methodical, and scoring endured similarly. She largely began to ignore the rest of what was happening on the pitch – Snitch and bludger be damned as long as they did not block her path to the Quaffle or the goals.
In another setting, she would, perhaps, have felt it necessary to ask after Cecilia's well-being, especially considering the ease with which Livia was scoring. However, as in any competitive scenario, any sense of duty towards societal norms or friendship proved to be beaten out by ambition. Neither did she ask after her teammate, only casting the girl a sidelong glance to ascertain that she could still fly. How she had managed to mishandle the Quaffle to the point of harming herself, Livia did not know – and, truly, the specifics of the matter did not concern her.
Despite her general lack of concern for the game's occurrences, a well-timed block from Cecilia had Livia not smiling but instead pursing her lips in thought. The analysis of what she had done wrong would arrive later, perhaps even managing to keep her awake at night; nonetheless, that would not prove an issue just now, as the girl quickly did her best to clear her mind. That did not stop her from realising that her team now comprised one individual fewer than before. Without a beater, their number of available strategic opportunities had diminished; however, Livia doubted they would not be able to pull through and finish this.

Pacing through the wind had its impact as strands of her hair continued to come out, the sun almost invisible due to the clouds, the atmosphere was almost peaceful, if not for the pressure that was starting to seep into Elisa's shoulders, she was the sole chaser in the team, while the other team had various benefits of teamwork, her own lacked it due to the unfortunate sharing of brooms and overall lack of luck on their side.
Her gaze fell on Amethyst, who seemed to have noticed the shiny metal ball that flew around the field at immense speed, on the other hand, Dahlia continued to seem clueless as she searched for the snitch, which hadn't yet fallen under her eye. Suddenly, an urge hit Elisa; there was no way to make Dahlia spot the snitch, but there was a way to avoid Amethyst from catching it.
She dove towards the young Slytherin whom, in other cases, Elisa was extremely protective of, something she'd never admit, even if the world was ending.
She tried to collide against the girl, a blatch, deep inside the thought kept on gnawing at her, it was too low of her to do so, yet the adrenaline took over as she proceeded, only for her efforts to pay back rather horribly as Amethyst, who had been wary, swiftly escaped her attack, escaping narrowly.
"What the hell", Elisa found herself muttering at the failure in the action as she heard Dido, whose constant looks had begun to strike a nerve in her minute by minute, announce a penalty which she had no choice but to follow.

Curiously, even after reentering the game with her foul repented for with a penalty lap just finished, Sabrina remained at the field's outskirts, observing the evershifting scene being painted in front of her, for a moment longer. As a chaser, she was meant to chase; to catch the whirling ball and send it flying towards and through the shimmering hoops. She was supposed to keep close to them – even if just for the reason of enjoying their protector's company – and yet, when her fingers tightened around her broom, taking control of it's direction once more, she flew in the opposite direction.
Definitely off objectively correct course, but not aimless, she drifted closer to their seeker: a fair-skinned, dark haired girl of about her own age (@Amethyst Castillo). Giving her a nod in place of vocal greeting, Sabrina extended her hand. She had assisted in an attempted snitch catch before, and even when it didn't lead them to victory then, the small witch dared to think today's outcome would differ.
And it did.
Because unlike last time, her and the gold chasing girl seemed to be on a completely different wavelength, failing to wordlessly link the way Sabrina expected them to. Embarrassed and too aware of how her failing to communicate her intend not only prevented them from performing any useful move but also stalled the chase, she withrew her hand fast, 'Sorry I- I thought you'd take my hand. I meant to launch you. Which sounds so weird when said aloud but basically I wanted to give you a boost so you could catch the - nevermind, sorry, sorry,' she stammered through the explanation.
The flustered heat in her cheeks soon took on a whole new fiery meaning, the raven's head whipping around to once again glare down at their referee. Her own hand shot up to her mouth, not to clasp, but cup it as she yelled down at the startled snakelet (@Dido Bleaklane), 'Stop giving unsolicited advice and focus on catching fouls,' shaking her head, she then turned to adress their seeker again, 'Don't listen to her, you're doing great. And she,' came an accusatory pointing finger at the young girl below them, 'has literally no idea what she's talking about, or doing, for the matter.'
