However not much could be said for her teammates. She hadn’t seen much of them and she wondered how in such a large arena they would be able to play a game like this. But nevertheless she persisted. Even when her shoe fell through a bit of a sinkhole and the mud swallowed her formerly pristine boot and sock.
The terrain she had moved into was different from where she had been previously. Hopefully it was a little less muddy over here and there weren’t any snakes like last time. Snakes… why was it always snakes?! Why couldn’t her outdoor activities ever revolve around butterflies. Or more peaceful flowers??
Last time she had been in a situation as perilous as this had been at Hogwarts during one of the ball events. She had been trying to have a wonderful evening with Alphonse but the school’s pyromaniacs had thought it clever to set the scene on fire. Literally. It seemed that wherever a Hogwarts student was involved, such was danger and craziness.

“Spanish.”Eden wiped beads of sweat from her forehead. At least this time she didn't have to worry about random creatures tormenting them as they went throughout the zone. Thankfully, her trap was successful. Eden smiled at her hard work and brushed her hand off on her outfit.
Eden turned at the sound of another girl's voice: Devon, an American student. She congratulated her in Spanish which surprised Eden. While Spanish was a common language and--in Eden's opinion--not very difficult to learn, hearing a foreign student take time to translate their words so she could understand it surprised her.
“¿Hablas Español?”¹ she asked.
Eden, despite having lived in two separate continents before she was ten, struggled to fully fit within the constraints of language. At home, she spoke a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish with her parents. Her thoughts followed that, blending her heritage into one whirlwind. Eden spoke limited English, finding it to be too wooden and stiff. What she had learned came from her grandparent's background in England and her love of music.
Eden wished she had a better understanding of new languages. She wasn't sure what she would have done had she not had access to muggle music through her father; most of the English she spoke came from stumbling over lyrics until she made sense of the words. Maybe she'd ask Devon or one of the other English-speaking students to help her later.¹= Do you speak Spanish?

@NAME NAME | MENTIONINGNote: My apologies, this was insanely bad written and rushedWhy in the world had Jun decided to sign up for this? How was any of this supposed to be fun? Well, perhaps it would have been if the Ravenclaw wasn’t in such a bad mood. Nothing was working, the weather and zones weren’t particularly playing to their advantages and with the full moon do close? Jun already felt exhausted. This was clearly why she usually did not socialize a lot. Not that any of her teammates seemed like they were unkind or not fun to talk to — surely they would have been — the problem was that she had no particular desire to do so.
Or rather that Jun was simply too stubborn and antisocial to make the first move, even when she would have never admitted that.
Her competitive streak was coming through and while this game would have required team work, it annoyed Jun that they had no idea what the other team was doing or how far they had gotten. However, there wasn’t really any time to think about that, since they had to work to even try and find the Jaguars flag in the first place. Getting through the zones was not exactly easy though, which should have been suspected as this wasn’t supposed to be easy. Who knew what was yet to come.

Marie decided to stay in Zone 1, well she wanted to guard the zone for now. Someone might’ve decided to come and attack at any moment in any given time. However knowing a vast variety of kids, they have a survivalist mindset in which Marie did not have a skill for. She unlike some is very shy and introverted, which caused her to freeze like a fragile glass statue waiting for it to be broken.
“We got this!” she only piqued sheepishly
Encouraging with her might it was her the best of her capability.
“I must do something or my team will become extremely injured!” she was becoming more timid. Perhaps fretting on the plausible situation where they might not make any progress, yet she’d digress as plenty of her teammates had already whisked away into the dense forests. Castelobruxo was very exotic and perhaps tropical and the school was quite enchanting quite polarizing from Hogwarts. Yet despite her worries she finds herself grounded and decided to keep her eyes peeled and her mind sharp for she could not have her eyes unfazed.

Staying behind to assist Naiane would turn out to be less of a relief than what Logan was hoping for. Their team was really going up in flames, with arguments and petty, biting comments flying in all directions. This French boy was something of a lost cause to her now; no point trying to beat a dead horse. And at this point the horse was rotten beyond recognition. She let any stray digs fly straight over her head, content to watch their receding silhouettes march on through the jungle. Credit where credit was due, Logan also wasn't blind. With a snort of amusement, her gaze trailed over Thales, who had never seemed so bothered by the judgement of a stranger. Whatever was brewing between them, Logan would leave it to them to figure it out.
Finally alone and lost amidst the chirping of distant birds, Logan turned to Naiane with a determined grin. Taking her hands and readying her stance, she heaved her teammate out of the mud with one firm yank. They stumbled back together, finding steady ground to avoid becoming caught once more. Thales quickly found himself rolling his eyes at the boy — apparently French, judging by the gargled escargot spewing from his mouth currently. The Europeans were getting on his nerves; thank the usually-annoying headmaster for having some sense and putting him on a team with Naiane and Logan, or he frankly wouldn't be able to tolerate anyone here. He took a page out of Logan's book and did not entertain Bug Boy's comments any longer, walking away with perhaps more of a stomp than would have been necessary. Blame it on the downpour or some shit; though really, as they walked further, the rain stopped and turned into something frustratingly warm.

26TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE JUNGLE ARENAMODERATION — ROUND THREE.There was a certain shock to being owled to help with an event, and that in regard to another school as well. So one had to imagine that Kasem had to make some last-minute changes to his schedule, life, everything really, to join in and help - which brought him to the situation where the Castelobruxo headmaster was explaining the event, going in quite a bit of detail. Most of the things would likely get learned as the rounds unfolded, and while this place seemed to be to his liking quite a bit, Suriya, the professor’s cat who of course had to join in on this impromptu trip, was not sharing that same pleasant sentiment about the change of scenery, climate, or anything really. After the onboarding and checking on the prefect’s notes from previous rounds, Kasem took his place, grabbing the binoculars and starting to survey the zones and observe what everyone was up to.
A few of the students seemed to choose to stay in their respective zones. @Eden Lorenz-Alves ventured towards Zone 2 and succeeded, only to have to deal with quite the downpour there. For the ones that had chosen to remain there, it may have been a blessing in disguise. Going from a heatwave from the previous round to what could now be categorized only as constant rain cooling the area ever so slightly, while somehow just making the previous heat be felt maybe even more for a while. Zone 3 was not having things any better, though at least they went from no particular events to the downpour compared to the previous area.
The professor moved his gaze through the binoculars towards Zone 4 where in the previous round @Hayato Ichiyagi was. Well…it was great the kid was no longer there now, as the zone now housed an Iara. Lastly, moving his attention towards the first zone, most definitely not taking things in order, it seemed. Two ocelot team members were facing a heavy mist, though they were successful in orientating themselves in the arena.
Looking at the notes, things had been generally calm; Kasem even took some tea to enjoy, counting that it would likely not get more eventful aside from some exploring of their respective zones. It genuinely seemed some of the students had different plans. For one, @Carina Kaede and @Angel Dayes decided to go on the offensive, managing to set up one trap each in anticipation of the enemy team. @Devon Wallen appeared to settle into a more supportive role, lightening the mood with some banter towards Marie.
On the other team, luck wasn’t on their side as much by the looks of things. @Camille De Varenne made an attempt to spot the opposing team’s flag, but whether it was there or not was irrelevant, and the downpour was not helping much, likely having contributed to the failure. Facing a similar downpour but in a different area, @Geneviève Caussade looked to try her luck at trap setting. Safe to assume, it didn’t work out. Well, at least she didn’t get hurt or cause things to backfire. It was important to be optimistic.
Kasem was about to replenish the tea he was sipping from and the snacks he was giving the orange cat, counting that the Jaguars were just having an unfortunate round overall aside from the successful moves some of the team made. Then it happened - a duo that decided to join quite chaotically so in Zone 3. @Jun Mayumi Mochizuki had attempted to make the move prior to anything else, midway to there though or maybe closer than that, @Marina Alacrán took a gambling choice to tackle the Ocelot member. It was not even such a simple attempt, as she seemed to give her best effort to disrupt Jun, succeeding quite a bit at that.

The game ends when either team successfully retrieved the other teams flag to their base. Team Ocelot will be starting the game in Zone 1 and Team Jaguar will be in Zone 4 at the opposite end of the arena. There will be at most 10 rounds, each requiring a post of 200+ words. Please make sure you include your character's stats in your post.
During the first round only, each team must state which zone their flag is hidden in to the thread moderator. You may chose to hide the flag in any of the 4 zones. The flag remains in that zone unless successfully discovered or moved through gameplay mechanics. Do not reveal in game where the flag is located.
Each round, everyone in the team must make at least one action from the Capture the Flag actions list, unless they are unable to act due to a status effect or restriction. These actions are zone dependent. The team scores points by making successful flag actions or interceptive actions towards a flag carrier. Please note that players may only move between adjacent zones and cannot skip zones while travelling.
At the conclusion of each round, the zone state map will be updated to reflect all player locations. Players may only target characters who are in the same zone as them at the end of the previous round. If a target moves out of the zone during the following movement phase, the action automatically fails, with the exception of Flag Intercept and non-magical support actions that include a chase mechanic. When performing these actions, the player automatically follows the target into the destination zone as part of the interaction.
If the action fails while chasing, the pursuing player is left behind in the original zone while the target successfully gains distance.

Devon turned back to Eden. “Un poco,”1 she admitted with a shrug. Despite the different language, she could identify the surprise in the other girl’s voice. “No soy fluida.”2 She wanted to be completely honest, after all. She was still learning and wouldn’t be surprised if her pronunciation was off. But she was trying, which mattered the most, in her opinion. Plus, she wanted to try, even with her limited Spanish vocabulary. Of course, however, they were playing a game. As much fun as it was to just simply talk, talking wouldn’t necessarily help their team capture the flag. Plus, she had an idea of what she’d do for now.
“Adiós. ¿Hablamos más tarde?”3 Devon proposed, smiling kindly at Eden, and waved at her. Even though they were currently in a competition, she still wanted to be friendly. In her opinion, there was really only one chance that she had to make a good first impression. Plus, they were in the same Maloca, too. So, she figured it would help to be as kind as possible. She brushed a damp strand of hair out of her eyes while turning her attention to the other girl in her zone. If her memory served her correctly, this girl was named Marie.
Another smile crossed Devon’s lips as she decided to talk and banter with Marie. “Hey, we can do this,” she offered some encouragement. “We just need to keep our hopes up to ultimately help our team,” she offered sheepishly. She could be optimistic and hopeful for a desirable outcome.

Planted her feet in Zone 2, a downpour began to crease in. She was slightly grateful for the flush of water, she could use that element to cool down. A trap would do the rest of the Ocelots good. But a commotion was heard overhead in the horizons in Zone 3. Jun! Tackled by a girl similar to their age. This was horrendous and foulplay. But if she was allowed to do so then so be it. She looked very survivalist. Typical.
"Hey! Are you alright!" she yelled unsure whether the member was disoriented.
"Shoot!"
Scowled and irritated. Obviously the kids in Jaguar would play dirty. That should've come to everyone in Ocelot. Angel felt salty. No obviously she was not the type for dramatics but what her pet peeve was people being foul. Whatever, Capture the Flag was a physical and competitive game by nature. Angel made a trap in Zone 2, and by her surprise she had a knack for it. The trap was successful.

Angel decided to make a move on. But whether mother nature or the opposing team gave her grace, she had to take a gamble. That would be to make a move she'd have to strategized. Feeling a bit salty towards what happened with Jun she decided to say something towards the girl who illegally tackled her. As her hands shaped into a cup to make the sound travel.
"Daya mo!" she raised her voice curtly to the girl with a cunning smile. The swan didn't mind feuding at this circumstance. Sardonic.
