"Oh, hey Lauren! There you are! Are you excited for this? I definitely am, even though I don't really know what 'this' even is!" Rosie said, hearing her friend's voice and immediately turning in the direction of the sound, spotting Lauren and walking towards her. She was glad that the girl had come, and not just abandoned Rosalyn to being alone in this adventure.
She didn't have time to listen to the answers to any of the questions she asked to her friend, as the older boys who seemingly organized the event began to speak, drawing her attention. She doubted that ignoring them would be a very good idea, since she still didn't know what they were even there for, and was sure that somebody would explain it.
Drink the cup in front of me-got it! Can't be too hard, I mean, what could they have possibly put in this?
Looking around at all of the things being concocted, Rosie noticed one of the boys, whom she believed to have seen in the Slytherin Common Room before, mixing up something strange. She couldn't see all of what was going into the cauldron, but she could see some ginger and cinnamon going in, but she looked over to Lauren before she saw the rest, assuming it didn't really matter.
"What do you think we're going to get? I hope it isn't anything too crazy!" she said, before turning back to see a cup being pushed in front of her. Picking it up to take a quick whiff, she caught bits of cinnamon, ginger, and pumpkin spice. Oh, she loved pumpkin spice, and cinnamon and ginger could never go wrong! She was sure there were a few other seasonings in there, though she couldn't pick anything else out.
Later on, she would most definitely realize that the reason she could only smell the good things was because her nose was trying to protect her from having to process the rest of what was included. But, because now and later were very different things, she had no idea what she was about to get herself into!
"Bottoms up, I guess!" she said to Lauren, and the room in general, before raising the cup to her mouth, and beginning to drink.
