The last warm day

Arlen sat on the warm grass, enjoying the sunset. She raised her head and gentle wind disheveled her long hair. Arlen smiled and looked at the nature around her.
It was one of the last mild evenings, that were in that September offered, before the long, cold season began. The sky was clear and the sunset was really bright. The gold apple of sun was lazily hiding beyond the horizon. The surface of the Black Lake was smooth and crystal-clear. Soft autumn wind swirled in the tree crowns.
Arlen looked at her cat Isida, who was sitting near her. Her silver fur was shimmering with gold light from the sunshine. Her bright emerald-green eyes sparkled with satisfied sparks. Arlen stretched out on the grass and closed her eyes. That moment she didn't care about her appearance or the opinions of others about her.
Time flew by and suddenly it became cold and dark. The sun hid beyond the horizon and only weak, dim rays were seen. The dank strong wind blew. The grass had become stiff and prickly. Everything became grey, as if all the colours of the world disappeared.
Arlen raised her head, uncomprehending of the sudden changes. She wrapped herself up in her robe and sighed sadly. Isida went to her and gently rubbed against Arlen's feet. Arlen decided to still stay there, even though there was nothing beautiful in this landscape already.
Suddenly someone called her.

The last warm day

Ellie couldn't believe it, she was a third year. She had made it through two years of school, only five more to go. The year was starting quick though and already the teachers where assigning homework. Since the students now where third years, and knew the pattern of what was happening, the teachers went right into it.
It was a beautiful evening, one the reminds you that no matter what there was beauty. Ellie loved this kind of view, a sunset over the black lake. It was a bummer she couldn't see it from her dorm. The Hufflepuff dorms really did not get a high enough view of anything. his was the only time she was jealous of Gryffindor, and well, she was always jealous of Ravenclaw anyways. Ellie sat there, watching the sunset, it slowly became dark, but not quite curfew time yet.
Then, Ellie noticed someone. There, sitting in the middle of the field though, was a girl. Sitting alone stroking her cat. The girl looked sad, lonely. Not thinking Ellie walking towards her, despite the deal she was made to herself to keep to herself this year. She knew that would fail anyways.
Ellie looked at the girl, she was rather pretty. With brown hair the seemed to glow in the moonlight and glasses that fit her face seemingly perfect. The girl was a Ravenclaw, a first year no doubt, based on her clothes and her height. Not that Ellie could judge on height, she was rather short herself.
Ellie sits down next to the girl, hoping it is okay with her. "Hey" Ellie speaks softly, "Not my place, I don't know what's going on, but are you okay?"

Arlen raised her head, when someone sat next to her. It was a girl, a bit older than herself, probably year 3, with light brown hair. The girl said softly "Hey. Not my place, I don't know what's going on, but are you okay?"
Arlen watched the girl and nodded. "Hi. Yes, I am fine, I guess," Arlen said thoughtfully.
She really felt lonely now. Thank God she had Isida, but, she was still lonely. When Arlen was in Ireland, it was much worse. Even though her parents loved her, she was strange among normal people. However here, in Hogwarts, she was a strange among strangers. It was good, but Arlen was shy, she needed time to get used to living here. You should probably think, that she didn't like Hogwarts, but Arlen loved it with all her heart. Everyone was so kind and empathic here. Arlen was very pleased for that.
Even now, when she was sitting lonely on the empty field, listening to the upcoming thunderstorm, someone noticed her, this very girl, that was so kind to her.
Arlen smiled to the girl slightly and said gently, "Thank you, thank you for coming here and," she stumbled, "and asking about me". "I really appreciate it, especially right now," Arlen said with a smile. "I am Arlen, from Ravenclaw, first year," she said shyly.
