What is the First Rule... Slytherin Event

Koko's feet had begun to ache after waiting in line. It wasn't the act of waiting that made the little needles of pain stab the soles of her feet, but rather that she'd not sat down since the early morning hours. An awful idea? One could say that.

The girl had been pleased to receive an invitation, and she naively thought nothing could be off. It wasn't as if London was a place she wasn't used to, anyway. Koko had grown up in the old city, and it was still a second - or third? - home to her.

It was safe to say that London didn't scare the girl. She hadn't been exposed to what could go wrong in society, especially Muggle society. She believed London was fairly safe, at least much safer than her new home in Los Angeles. Koko had rejoiced upon knowing she could return, and she'd owled her aunt immediately. Of course Vienna had been more than willing to take her favourite - and only - niece to the London Quidditch Stadium for Merlin-Knows-What.

Koko shot glances around at the students in line, suddenly aware that she recognised most of them. She was only close friends with one person near her - Ruby - and she gave the dark-haired prefect a nod hello. Ruby was practically one of her only friends; it was no crime to be kind. Ruby gave Koko a nod of acknowledgment in return, making the blonde-haired girl smile. It felt great to have a friend, even if it was just one.

By the time Koko was in the front of the line, she began to have just a few second thoughts. She wished her aunt could have come, could have seen whatever this was. Koko smiled a cold smile at the boy when he mentioned a ring. Maybe she would get to keep it.

He took her invitation and burnt it, making Koko raise her eyebrows. Not necessarily questioning; rather, she was amused. Although Koko had been exposed to magic her entire life, and yes, she'd seen a Howler before, she had never heard a piece of paper let out a strangled cry. The expression of amusement left her face as she jolted in place, feeling a searing pain in her shoulder that reminded her all too much of the time she'd been bit by some form of spider.

The girl's breath hitched in her throat, and she shot a glance at her exposed shoulder, pulling over the strap of her emerald-hued tank top in order to see what looked like ink on her arm... Except... It hurt. Had she been given a tattoo? Koko squinted, initially seeing a seven, but upon further examination found that it was in fact an eleven that had been branded onto her formerly flawless pale skin.

Hefting a sigh, Koko gazed at the boy from under her eyelashes. "Thanks," she said blandly, her voice void of emotion, before she began stalking off to join the rest of the group. She was already tempted to untie her jumper from where it rested around her waist. Although it was most certainly not cold, the girl would do anything to shield the new number from the sight of others. Koko gave in to the temptation, pulling the black jumper over her head and slipping her arms through the sleeves. Once she'd done that, she began jogging in order to keep up with the rest of the... kids?

They were all kids, weren't they?
Godmodding permission from Ruby Cazares was granted.

Wyatt was not a quidditch fan, and at first, he was not going to go. Not until he got an owl from his mother. She’d written to him, telling him that he should go. Quidditch was a big part of her life when she was present in the wizarding world, and she wanted to share that with him, though he didn’t care for it very much from what he'd heard. He felt like he’d been waiting in line forever, but that was most sporting events, wasn't it? Back home, he and his mother did a million things to get away from the house, and most of it was waiting. She was always okay with waiting though, she can make anything fun.

He stepped up to the wooden desk. Seated in front of Wyatt was a teenager with… dirt on his face? Wyatt didn’t look away. He knew from experience, looking away makes the other person feel awkward. He just looked at the boy as he would look at anyone else. When he asked to see Wyatt’s invitation, he handed him the paper. He wore a confused expression when the paper was set on fire. He felt a small sting on his right arm, he couldn’t see the number twelve that branded itself under his hoodie sleeve. He said, “thank you,” put his hands in his pockets, and joined the rest of his house.

It seemed a lot of her fellow Slytherins were in this lineup. She stood in line and waited with her invitation in hand, and as she moved up in the queue, she saw the desk with the boy squinting at his face for just a moment before replacing it with her emotionless façade.

Finally, it was her turn, and he asked her for her invitation. She would hand it over willingly and watch as he put it over a candle flame. Was there hidden text only to be revealed by the heat? No, in fact, as soon as the paper ignited, it howled as if it were in its own pain. A stinging sensation on her upper arm made her look away from the boy pulling her shoulder of her shirt down to reveal the branded number thirteen.

She looked back to the boy for only a moment committing his face to memory so that she wouldn’t forget him again before walking away from him towards the group while gently rubbing her shoulder.

Emmanuel stood in the young man's line, hands stuffed into pockets and face clearly revealing an amused expression. Between the tents and processes of entry, he could assume things would be fairly interesting. Though the wait was almost too much to bear, luckily is turn would come up after counting the number of tents for the 5th time.

" Ya era hora, ah yea, aquí— here." Emmanuel would hand over the invitation before his arm was riddled with slight pain and discomfort. Instinctively his body wanted to react and land a nice punch in the teens face, though he'd quickly gain control and sucked in his teeth instead before heading in.

London was a place of mystery to Margo. It was the reason why she kept her wand up her sleeve and her eyes on the ground, the muscles in her legs pulled taut in anticipation. But it was also the reason that excitement whizzed through her veins, lighting a spark of curiosity in her eyes that would not remain unquenched. Her invitation was tightly clenched in her right fist and her boot tapped the grass impatiently as she waited to see the source of interest at the front of the line.

It was a boy. A boy with part of his face coated in... soot? Oil? Margo didn't know. He was young. Strangely young to be accepting invitations with so much authority, but Margo didn't think of him as incapable because of it. No, it was he who held the power in the tent. They were waiting in line for him to act, for him to speak. It didn't matter that there was a whole world of other tents and teens behind the thin walls of fabric. They were in his domain, waiting in an illusion of simplicity where he was the sole focus of their curiosity.

Okay, so it was possible Margo was giving the boy too much credit. He took her invitation like he undoubtedly had for the others before her, a practised gesture that he must have performed many, many a time. It was only when he set the parchment alight that she tried to withdraw her hand, hissing when she felt a sting on her upper arm. Margo hastily pulled aside the neck of her jumper to see a number seemingly branded onto her skin.

"Fifteen."

She frowned before grazing the boy's gaze with her own and leaving the tent. It was just a number, she told herself. A way of marking the visitors at the event. But the Wizarding World did not have a good history with magic tattoos.

Cassie wait in line like the rest of their Housemates. Their feet began to ache for standing too long in line but when the girl before them finished, it is time Cassie stand in front of the young man's table. At first Cassie thought the particular mark on his face is the result of domestic abuse but when they look at it meticulously, it is his birth mark.

The boy have piercing green eyes and harden facial expression. When the boy ask for Cassie's invitation the green eyes girl gave it to the boy. When the letter being place above the small lit candle and its howling, Cassie jumped. Then they feel a sting on their left arm. They clenched their jaws to stop from cursing out. They look down and number sixteen was branded on their left deltoid.

A number?, Cassie thought. They seen enough livestocks getting numbered before going into the slaughter house. After the Blossom Ball, Cassie a bit worried for their safety. They get out just in time before all hell break loose from the previous event. But heard what happened at the Ball, it will put anyone into nightmare(s).

And when the boy mention something in the basement, Cassie get a bit weary. Nodded their head as the way they say thank you to the boy, Cassie then get out from the tent. Nothing will go wrong and this should be fun, right?

What is the First Rule... Slytherin Event
Dmitri Kazimir Jones didn't know why he was there--but he was.

The dewy grass cushioned his footfalls as he followed a thinning group of Slytherins to a random tent in the field of hundreds. It was really conspicuous, not only because of the number of children gathering around it but by the way most of the crowd disappeared into the seemingly-small establishment. He shouldn't really be surprised, by now. He lived in a world of magic. The whole Empire State Building of America could very well be in there for all he knew.

It was a random invitation that he found which led him here, a few ways away from the London Quidditch Stadium, and from the looks of it, he wasn't the only one who got it. He spent some time debating trusting a random come-hither that appeared in their possessions out of nowhere, and ultimately, Dmitri decided it was an opportunity to wind down after a whole month's worth of grinding for house points.

He was number seventeen in the queue, and although he expected the flash of pain that blossomed on his arm from the children who went before him, Dmitri wasn't ready for the degree of torment it was.

It was as if someone got too trigger-happy with a cow's firebrand and went ballistic on his arm.

Clutching his throbbing limb, Dmitri strode into the shady establishment, already halfway-regretting his decision to do so.

What is the First Rule... Slytherin Event
Ileen frowned thoughtfully as she waited in line until it was her turn. Her fingers were clasped tightly around the invitation she had received - and, it seemed, others from her house as well. She recognized some familiar faces which did not help to calm them down - on the contrary. She had a strange feeling about this situation and the presence of the others reinforced this. Up to now she had stayed out of almost everything and the last time she had been involved in a group venture, it hadn't exactly ended well either.
So why was she here? She could not answer the question herself and had no opportunity to reconsider her decision. Because now, it was her turn and she was asked for her invitation. When she looked at the boy in front of her, to whom she now presented the paper with a quiet "Sure. Thank you", she involuntarily shivered. Something about him was unnatural - she couldn't put a finger on it - but something just didn't seem right about him.
With her teeth clenched she watched him handing her invitation over to the flame of a candle. The second the flame began to consume the note, she heard an inhuman howl that seemed to come from the invitation. At the same time, a stabbing pain in her right upper arm made her gasp in shock. Automatically she pressed her hand on the burning spot and stared at the boy with her eyes wide open.
The pain was intense and subsided only slowly. Carefully she turned her head and pulled the green sweater that she was wearing a little over her shoulder to have a look at her arm.
The number eighteen was burned onto her skin. With an inaudible swallow she stepped aside, as if pulled by invisible threads, to make room for the nearest one behind her. What was going on?

Still holding her shoulder, she stepped away from the queue and turned around to wait for the others. When she looked up from her shoulder, she met the look of two familiar hazel eyes. He looked just as uncomfortable with this situation as she felt.
She looked at the shoulder her checked, catching a quick look on the number 3 on it.

Frowning even more, she looked back at his face, and then behind him at Flash.
She walked towards the two boys. "Two, three, ... four? Are they numbering us? Why? Do we get assigned seats or something?" She pointed at herself first, then Jack and then Flash, saying his number as a question. She had not seen Flash's number, but she could guess it.

She didn't feel good about this at all. Opeila did not want to assume the worst first, the assigned seats were a possibility, but the strange-looking man and the fact that the numbers were burned into their shoulders unsettled her. Not to mention that weird seeming things at Hogwarts had always turned out to actually be weird or more in the end.
The numbers reminded her of a certain for the muggles important historical event, where a group of people had numbers tattoed in their wrists to recognize them.

This could be as well a way to make sure not to lose anyone. And that could be a way to keep them safe as well as to make sure that no one escaped...

After Opeila’s remark, Flash swiftly lifted up his short sleeve to see the number, looking printed on his upper arm. ‘Four’, indeed. Letting the sleeve go with a grumbling huff, he looked over at Burnett’s number as well. Burnett being nearly his size, it was easier to observe properly. It looked burned, somehow. Flash touched the number three with his finger, and there seemed to be some depth to it. He certainly hoped it wasn’t permanent, but magic could generally fix things like this. Well, unless it was dark magic.

”He said the ring is below. I suppose we’ll find out there. Perhaps we’ve been… entered into something.”

That was Flash’s first thought. 'Ring' sure sounded like a tournament of some sort. Number reminded him of drawing for seeds. His brother Darius used to go to tournaments all the time. A guess meant very little though, with such paltry evidence to go off of. He would have to gather more data.
