Jay was interested in the more unknown magic of Hogwarts, and who was to blame her? After all there were so many myths and legends about magic that even the magical world had nearly nothing to go off about them and Jay was intrigued in finding out the little pieces she could.
About an hour ago she had been sitting in the courtyard, reading Dracula when she overheard a bunch of sixth years whispering about something Jay knew had been circulating around the castle for a while.
The Room Of Requirement.
Apparently the room appeared when someone needed it most but that was all she knew, no location, no way to find it at all, she had nothing to go off.
So she went to find who would know the most about anything magical around Hogwarts. The Portraits.
She waited for one to actually wake up before asking her question
“What do you know about the room of requirement?” she asked sharply as the portrait fluttered awake.
“Oh? Why do you wish to know about such things? For you are only a wee little girl” Jay gritted her teeth to stop herself from yelling at the painting “Because I want to know how it works and the way magic works”
The portrait chuckled “no no no my dear you are going to need a better reason than that!” Jay took a breath and stepped back, thinking for a moment before replying.
What does magic mean to me? Why do I want to understand it? Why do I want to know?
“I want to understand how magic works so I can use it, not for fame or glory I’m just interested and really value magic” Jay said, it was all true and that was all she had to say.
The portrait looked down at her and smiled “what do you need to know?”
