Quidditch Stands || Secret Blossom Ball
(RP Post for the previous two turns)
Alexander then saw a few massive red flares come from the quidditch pitch and looked in that direction. This indecisiveness, as well as the decision to look at the flares, made it so he could not react in time when the fog began to surround him. As he did so he looked around and saw he could see nothing. It had already been hard to see with how dark everything was but now he could see almost nothing at all.
The fog preventing him from seeing anything that wasn't right in front of his nose. As he did so Alexander felt his heart rapidly beating faster and a rapid panic beginning to set onto him.
He did not like this, he did not like this at all. The sensation of that anything could happen to you and you would not be able to expect it. The sensation of being helpless.
It brought him back to the bad times before Hogwarts. Alexander stood there petrified in fear for a few moments, rapidly looking around. Where was Aida, he needed to help her. And maybe she him.Alexander shouted with a slightly panicked voice. "AIDA !!! AIDA WHERE ARE YOU ?!!!" hoping to see her.
In an effort to make sure he could see his surroundings better Alexander grasped his wand tightly. He then gave a small twirl and said. "Lumos"
As Aida treated the Mosp ALexander was conflicted. Should he go now or should he stay and help Aida as a friend. On the one hand Alexander knew that Aida was a woman that could take care of herself and make her own decisions. He trusted her to help the mosp and in the end the effect of him helping and possibly getting caught was worse than the benefit of helping Aida. But she was his friend..... so what should he do ?Interacts with/mentions: @Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood

Quidditch Stands || Secret Blossom Ball
Aida had been trying to bind the torn-off sleeves of her riding top around the then-immobile stingers of Mosp #4 when the insect suddenly jerked to life. The mosp’s stingers lashed out, cutting across Aida’s palm and applying its venom. The young white witch began to gasp but rapidly squelched the sound in the back of her throat, trying to remain quiet though her hands jerked back instinctively. Her hand felt like it was in flames, causing a fog to shroud her mind. Or was it just the pain? No, there was also an actual fog. A smokescreen was blowing in from elsewhere in the stands. Aida focused on breathing smoothly to try to focus her mind through the agony of her wound.
With her Blindvision Aida was accustomed to knowing and remembering her position in space. It was not unlike being in her secret cave when a light would fail and she would be able to navigate with something akin to a photographic memory of the place. As her various senses heightened as a natural reflex to the lower light conditions, sounds near and far confirmed what she knew about her position in space. Actually, the topography of the stands was quite regular and easy to remember compared to the extremely complex geometry of her cave. Aida could smell the acrid fumes coming off the burned-up mosp, intermingled with the familiar smell of her dense wool riding coat and the almost grassy smell of the lasso. Her attempt at preparing the stingers for the mosp’s remobilization had failed, but the thing was still bound by her very professionally tied lasso knot. At least the thing was not able to fly away to die alone somewhere. A-ha, but your flight may yet be useful, thought Aida with a smirk. However, Aida then felt the air around her stirring, and it was not the mosp.
“AIDA !!! AIDA WHERE ARE YOU ?!!!” came the call from Alexander. Immediately Aida spun to look at Alexander. With her Blindvision she could see he was accosted by something similar to a panic attack, causing a wave of memories to sweep through Aida. Griffith’s voice, now distant. The hysterical thunder of hooves about to tear down an entire structure. The screaming whinny of Manticore. The low voice of a very disturbed man. Aida squeezed her good hand into a fist and focused on the presence behind Alexander’s voice.
“Alexander,” said Aida, channeling a deep well of calmness and control regardless of the horrific sensations of burning in her hand. “I’m here. We can leave. Follow the sound of my voice.” Aida’s voice rang out as smooth and soothing as a silver bell. Aida attempted to take the most distant end of the lasso in her good hand, remembering its location with her near photographic memory of the environment (Blindvision). Her eyes narrowed in the dark as she imagined the unfortunate pain she would have to inflict on the mosp temporarily in order for her plan to work. Aida then turned and attempted to head towards the stands’ exit, dragging the poor mosp behind her along the ground. Hopefully the coat would shield it from the worst of the trip.
“Alexander, listen to the sound of my voice and come this way.” Aida continued to speak as calmly and reassuringly as possible while still being undeniably audible to the person behind her. She would need to talk a long time in order to continue giving an auditory lead to Alexander. “I have an ability that I think will help. I walk in darkness. It’s almost as if I can see, no matter how dark it is. It was a gift from my sacred cave. My other senses are heightened, and I remember where things are even when the light dies. In the darkness I hear better, smell better. This mosp smells pretty bad,” she said with a laugh. Yes, humor would be a good way to lighten the atmosphere, she thought. She had to continue talking though, so that Alexander would hear where she was. The mosp was probably making unhappy sounds as it was being dragged, and it hurt Aida to have to listen to them. “I can feel the air moving better, in the dark. The little eddies of wind and changes in temperature. All of my senses heightened – now you may understand why I love the darkness. It makes me feel so alive. Go slowly when you get to this little step, here.” Aida made sure to be far enough in front of Alexander that he would not be in range of any flailing stingers, but would still be close enough to be able to make sense of warnings about changes in the terrain. She had to keep coming up with things to say, but Aida had always found it easy to talk to Alexander. “I think we said we could go exploring together during the summer break. We could play some fun games in my secret cave; I can show you where I got this funny ability! There are so many things I want to show you out there.” With a giggle, Aida seemed to have remembered something. While Aida knew that Alexander was not in a good emotional place right now, she was not trying to ignore it. She was trying to bring up his spirits. “Oh Alexander, there's something I'd like you to help me with. Once we exit this smokescreen, could you please cast levitation on this mosp? I'm just dragging it behind me right now, but I would like my very own MOSP BALLOON! Oh please help me have a mosp balloon! That way it will be high above us and not able to reach us with its stingers but I won't have to drag it on the ground anymore. Just focus it on the coat that is wrapped around it, since we can't usually levitate living beings themselves. This rope is quite snug so I think it will work. Can we try it once we get out of this smokescreen anyway?"

MENTIONS: @Elena Jangleton
As far as Lamik was concerned, there was only one answer to Elena's question. Only one place that the creatures currently attacking them could have come from. "The forbidden forest, I think!" In the muggle-borns mind, any dangerous creature of magic origin that was encountered at Hogwarts came from that dark place. Whether he was right or wrong didn't really matter though. His current goal was making sure that he and Elena stayed safe. Taking care of whatever nest-pack-party-gathering-meeting thing that these things had going on was a job better left for the professors. Because of this, the mystery of their origin would have to wait for a different time.
In the darkness and smoke, Lamik quickly realized that maybe he needed to find a different go-to spell. Sure, he might have been able to see things alright, but as soon as Elena cast her own spell it became clear to him that he had practically removed her from the fight- at least until the two left the smoke that surrounded them. Before he had time to decide that he had ensured the two's demise though, the boy head a screech. Two screeches, actually, and what sounded like a scuffle of sorts. Something was keeping the wasp-thing busy, and whatever it was could also be Lamik's opportunity to escape with Elena. "Come on!" Lamik called out, trying to grab onto Elena's hand to pull her out from under the bleachers away from the smoke.

Annie had successfully made it out of the Changing Rooms without attracting too much attention to herself. She held Saskia's broom in her hand and got into position before swinging her leg over the broom. The girl quickly flew high into the air and hovered on the broom looking at the chaos below her. It seemed the main ball was a disaster and seemed the worst out of all the places to be. No matter how much she wanted to help others she felt that was the most dangerous place to be. The brunette turned to the direction of the stands and sped off.Abilities: Obnoxiously Strong
A few spells flashed and someone had cast Fumos it seems. Annie got closer to the ground and spotted a purple mosp in pursue after a familiar someone in a blue dress. She raced towards her and Serena and another person with them. They seemed to be running from it even though it wasn't buzzing angrily. As soon as he caught up with the small group she flew along side them. "Saskia-" Her voice broke. She wanted to ask if she was okay, apologize for running off and tell her how she felt. No no no, it's not time for emotions..
Annie cleared her throat before continuing. "The purple mosps like flowers, the red mosps are a lot more violent.." She paused to look back over her shoulder at the purple mosp who lost interest and a red one now pursued the group. "I can distract it, just keep running and hide, I'll catch up with you later hopefully okay? Stay out of trouble, wait for the professors to arrive." Her eyes softened and a small smile appeared on her face before she stopped hovering and turned the broom around to face the purple mosp following after the group.
She narrowed her eyes at the creature before calling out "Incendio!" and pointing her wand at the mosp. Thankfully she had a broom if anything went wrong, which was likely to happen.

Quinn took some time to respond to her, but she'd stay with him until he did. He decided to not mount the broom that clearly was too small for his posture. He advised her to look for others who needed help and fast. Nico was sure that Quinn could handle things by himself. He was tall and had most likely alot of strength to shield the student.
Since the dhampir had the advantage of flying on a broom, she'd better use it wisely. Honestly, she'd rather want to stay by his side, but they could meet up later. Hopefully in one piece. Nico whimpered but nodded firm at Quinns orders. 'Be safe.. okey?' Giving him a meaningful look before flying above the Pitch, carefully avoiding any mosps, trying to not pull their attention. As anyone was already dealing with many mosps, Nico wondered how bad things were at the main area of the ball. Kids were screaming, fists were swinging and was that... Someone knocked out on the floor? Things were way worse than the Stands. Still horribly bad but ... Wauw.
The Prefect couldn't tell who was knocked out but they had to be removed from the center of the chaos. What happened? Realising that the Professor might not arrive at all, Nico decided to swoop down and hopefully manage to carry someone to safety.Action: attempts to leave the Stands to the Main area on her Tinderblast

actionHe had no idea how long he had been crouching there, it was probably just seconds but the terror and thought that he was giong to be there till something came and killed him kept hanging around and it just felt too long, every second felt too damn long and he just wished he was back at his dorm sleeping and not facing whatever the hell this was. He had never once been in a situation like this before, the most fear he had experienced was probably the one time he dozed off in class and thought his parents were going to be called for it. This was a bit worse than that so it made this the worst experience Noah had had so far, he knew weird stuff always was happening at Hogwarts but to actually be a part of it... He never even thought that would happen.
So here he was, sitting there alone in vain with no idea how to deal with anything, his wand at hand but it would've made no difference if it wasn't there, what would he have done anyway? Try shooting a spell at the creature? As if he had the courage for that.
But in the distance, he could see someone trying to approach him, he wasn't sure if it was actually for him or just coincidentally in the same direction but he didn't dare doubt the only hope he could see in the situation. Fortunately for him, the person was indeed trying to approach him. Noah let out a breath of relief and took his hand, getting back on his feets, his breathing now deep, every exhale making him feel less panicked but his still as wide as ever, "I'm okay, t-thank you so much.." He said, speaking in short bursts of words, still not completely over the shock, "I had no idea what to do and... and I thought I should just try and hide but I still have no idea what to do.. o-or how I'm going to get out of here or anything like that..."

-interacting | @Dmitri Jones, @Cecily Quinnmentioning | N/AThe sound of glass shattering on the ground was one of triumph. "Thanks, Cecily," she grinned, raising a hand for a quick congratulatory high-five before following after the Owls, nudging Dmitri to follow—wow, he seemed to be really deeply affected by the trance on this spell. Not something that usually impacted her this much. Hopefully he'd be partially conscious enough to get that he had to get up and follow or get trampled on later.
So, someone had gotten their little trio interested in a new target. That was fine. Following the owls, she soon found herself plunged into a smokescreen, making her cough in surprise and undo the fabric of her belt and cover her mouth with it. There was very little she could see through this, except the flutters of feathers as the owls darted in—one even got a hit, the owl she'd healed earlier, but this smoke wasn't doing them any favors. Looking back to Cecily, she waved, calling her name to make sure that she was watching, though she had really no doubt that she was—Cecily wasn't oblivious. "Cec! Over here!"
Pointing her wand straight into the smoke—not that it was difficult to aim, seeing as it would be much harder to aim away from it—she muttered the words for the idea she had hanging in her mind. "Fumus lamina." She wouldn't be able to aim at the mosp well enough from inside the smoke, and she didn't trust herself not to hit either of the owls. This would get rid of two problems at once—making the smoke disappear, and attacking the mosp. She didn't trust her knife throwing skills either, she hadn't done that in far too long, but she trusted Cecily. Instead of the usual army of classic daggers, she had instead imagined ive throwing knives, from the polished wooden handle to the Damascus steel blade, symmetrical edges that curved down to a sharp point.
She kept her wand pointing straight up to keep the daggers, should the spell succeed, from dropping on all their heads. With her free hand, she made a gesture towards Cecily, then pointed to the knives. "Throw," she said, rather bluntly. These were throwing knives—a set of five made for ammo, deadly projectiles that she really hoped Cecily wouldn't miss, because those could probably cause some pretty bad damage if they hit someone else. And then she released them, hoping Cecily would have the sense to catch them on the handle, not the blade.STAMINA 5

Pericles exclamation at catching the plummeting freak, was anything but reassuring. He had no idea what he was doing did he? This was surely how it was going to end. "Fine! We're both mad!" She retorted, in an uncharacteristically shrill tone. Everything seemed alright for awhile. For a second. That seemed to be a frequent theme tonight. The large silhouette of the wounded mosp, continued to bob in their direction. Xailahs constrictor-like grip around her friend, only continued to tighten... and tighten, as the broom sputtered to a halt. The Gryffindor made the mistake of looking down. There was nothing there, just like before. She wasn't scared of the nothingness, but more so what waited beyond the nothingness. She was afraid of the crunch that would follow with the impact of both the fledgling, and the cub hitting the earth.
"No." She bounced her legs in a impatient manner, as if that would make their ride go. She continued to observe what was beneath them, realizing that there was something in what she thought was nothing. The pitch below wasn't just dark due to a lack of light. It was dark because there was also a thin blanket of smoke covering it. And what was beyond the smoke? Lights. Very faint lights. Xailah knew exactly what it was, she had seen what flames looked like, when they danced behind a curtain of smog. Someone had started a fire down in the main area- it was still small, but fires spread. And they do so, quickly. "Oh nonono. Nein no!" No matter how many "no's" she verbalized; the brooms descent into the smoggy pit of hell, would not be stopped. "Pericles, do not let the broom control you. You control the broom."
Pericles told her to hold tight. But she was. She was holding tight, but not for her own well-being. "I-I am!" It would seem that the fates would be drawing cards in the favor of both children, because somehow, someway, the broom halted its downwards drifting- and started drifting upwards! Rejoice! The Gryffindor let out a small, and nervous laugh. The two astronauts were off! This. This was freedom. They could go anywhere they wanted- they could go to infinity and beyond. If they dared to. If they had enough sense to leave all of this behind- which they thankfully didn't.
It was then, Xailah knew Pericles was going to be okay. She could let him go now. That Mosp? They outflew it. Poor thing probably didn't stand a chance. The lioness snapped around to see Pericles other friend flying for the dying insect- but why? Had the creature not endured enough pain? Why not use the wand that she obviously had in her hand? Perhaps she wanted to hurt herself, in hopes that someone would come to the rescue? Maybe she wanted to be a hero? Breanna was no hero. There was no praise, or redemption, that came from harming something that was already dying. The group consisted of children. Not gods- proving ones worth was pointless. "Your friend is fine. Just cut above the hip it looks like. There is nothing fatal there." She tried to reassure Pericles. No one would be a hero tonight. No one except for Meenauh. Meenauh would be the one to put the Mosp out of its misery.
Meenauh sent a Diffindo in the direction of the miserable creature. Ending it for good. What others might have seen as grotesque, or morbid; Xailah saw the action as an act of kindness. An act to undo something that shouldn't have been done. It was a show of mercy. Xailah had made a mistake, and Meenauh would be quick to fix it. Upon arriving in the light of Rubys, Lumos, the Gryffindor would watch the limp body of the mosp fall into the pitch below. Xailah would not get off the broom. No. She would simply stare at the place that the mosp had been previously. Her head would bow and she would mourn in silence. For the mosp. For herself. For the short-lived freedom that she never new she wanted. The mosps were not the monsters. They were not the villains in this story. They just wanted a chance to live, just like everything else. Xailah didn't understand that until it was too late. Her sorrow was soundless. No tears fell from her eyes, but inside, she was drowning in them. She was going to have a lot to think about after this. She would mutter something from beneath her hand. "They... ssstarted a fire, in the pitch."
She raised face, and looked at Margo and Ruby. For once, the Gryffindor wouldn't know what to do. She had no ideas, be they good or bad. Her mind just drew a complete blank. The one thing she dreaded happening, was happening. And right below her, and the group. The worst part, was that they most likely couldn't do anything about it. Her heart dropped when she remembered that Illowy chose to stay down there. She couldn't help but feel that she should have stayed with the snake. But what was done was done. Hopefully Illowy made it out before the fire had started. To make matters worse, smoke was rolling into the stands now too. But was it smoke from a fire in the stands? Or from a spell? She didn't know anymore. She didn't want to know anymore. She just wanted this to be over. She just wanted to wake up, and discover that this was all just a bad dream. Was that too much to ask?
Xailah mourns the mosps for a little bit, and remains on the broom. She takes no action this round.

A loud thud indicated the merciless success of her spell. Or was it mercy in the end? A few seconds later Meenauh realised she went for a kill. It didn't matter that it was self-defence and that it was not a human being. It was alive and then it was not. No matter which power Meenauh held inside, a slight queasiness started to crawl upwards. Something she couldn't afford at that moment. She had to stay strong, but with every minute it was more and more difficult to do. This will definitely be giving her nightmares, but she deliberately came here. Her mother would probably take her out of here the next day if she'd find out.
Xailah was safe. Mission accomplished. Lots of lights illuminated the surroundings, including a strong Lumos Maxima above their heads — definitely a result of hard work, demonstrated by some older student. Normally, Meenauh would silently growl to herself for not knowing the spell, but then she'd calm down in unbearable acknowledgement that it was not possible to know all the spells. Anyway, the situation was so different from her regular days, so she had basically no thoughts that would look like her routine behaviour.
She looked around to find out there were many more students around than she noticed. And more mosps were in there, despite the fallen ones. The student, which were the closest to her — Peri, Xailah, Ruby, Margo and an unknown girl on a broom — they were safe. Others were still in danger. But why did Meenauh have the urge to save everyone? Was the Hat not mistaken? Was she really a Gryffindor? Nonsense. She hated people being hurt. She hated that fact that people could die. Death was her ultimate enemy. She would do anything in her powers and beyond to save everyone.
Saskia was on a broom, the two other girls near Saskia were also on brooms, which meant they had much easier way to escape. The quick analysis put Saskia in a safer position, but then Meenauh would need to move faster. After reaching the proper distance, her body basically forced her to stop and breathe. She had to concentrate. She took a few deep breaths, trying to control them and not get hyperventilating. Another deep breath and another attempt to save or at least drag the attention of the most:
"Diffindo!"
The stress and the uneasy feeling in her stomach restricted her brain activity to what could be characterised as single-tasked. She turned around and calculate the distance to the closest mosp she could reach. The mosp was quite far and it was following a dark-haired girl on a broom, who was probably not realising she was followed. Meenauh stared to move closer as fast as she could, cutting the distance towards the mosp. Halfway through she realised it was Saskia, her old acquaintance. There was another mosp around, heading towards a boy on the ground, and her fellow prefect trying to help him out.Leaving @Xailah Alptraum, @Pericles Dralt, @Margo White, @Ruby Cazares and @Breana Oliveire
"Process, Meenauh, process," the processing voice was trying to encourage her, but only fastened her heart rate, which was already hitting the roof. She felt as her brain liquids were vaporising through her ears as the adrenaline was conquering her bloodstreams.Noticing @Saskia Nicholson, @Serena Towers and @Elspeth Gollens, @Noah Page and @Quinn Healy

It really did feel like a cowardly move to run away from an insect, of all things. Granted, said insect was bigger than her head and their twin stingers might as well have been very tiny daggers, but at the end of the day, she could have grabbed her wand, casted a Flipendo, and sent the damn thing away. But nothing was ever that simple. It was easier to fly away from a target that didn't look like it was planning on attacking than enraging it any further. Not the most sound of strategies, but what could they really do?
Their plan eventually worked. The good news was that the purple bug lost interest in them and flew away to Merlin knew where. The bad news was that a new bug was hot on their trail. Unlike the last bug, it was red instead of purple, and it looked a lot more aggressive. Whereas the purple one looked like it was idly following the group, the red bug looked like it was out for blood, buzzing angrily as they tried to get closer to them. Considering they were on brooms, they probably could have outran the bug if they flew particularly fast, but she didn't want to take that chance. Something told her that it wouldn't be as easy to catch this bug off their tracks.
But before she could do anything else, a familiar figure flew over to their side. Saskia didn't think she'd see her again after the disaster that occurred during the dance floor, but here she was, looking no worse for the wear. "Annie! Thank Merlin you aren't hurt," she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up in relief. The other girl didn't seem take whatever happened back then too badly, but really, Saskia was just glad she was here again.
Ah, so that was what those things were. Mosps. From what she explained, the purple mosps were perfectly harmless and the red mosps were the violent ones. Annie had also said she would distract the mosp so the rest of them could get away safely, but something about that plan rubbed Saskia off the wrong way. She didn't want to leave Annie all alone to fend off the mosp. Sure, it was only one mosp and if Annie was careful enough, she could have gotten rid of it fairly quickly, but she already felt guilty leaving Annie alone after she ran off. Besides, she had enough of running. Or flying away in this case.
"I'll stay. We need to make sure this mosp stays down for good. She affirmed, further cementing her choice. She turned back to Serena and the smaller girl, summoning up the confidence she usually had back when she was still a Quidditch Captain. "Get yourselves somewhere safe. Make sure you don't get stung."
Once Serena and the other girl departed, Saskia turned back to the mosp. She might as well make herself useful this time.
With a flick of her wand, she pointed at the red pest. "Flipendo!"
