Interacting with @Lydia Cooper
Mentioning @Santario Martin
This was a disaster. Not only was the ball falling into chaos, but Aaron was over here choking when it mattered. He had attempted two attacks on the mosps now - one a high-spun kick and the other with this music stand as a weapon - and he had missed both times! What was wrong with him? Were the nerves getting to him? He could do nothing but watch as Lydia continued to evade the attacks of the two mosps that had decided to target them. She took off her shoe and decided to use it as a weapon, which was smart considering they hadn't learned many offensive spells this year.

He looked up at the flying creatures that were (in his mind) trying to kill them, and it hit him like a ton of bricks. There was no way they could handle these things! They were two twelve-year-olds up against magical beasts with two huge stingers. EACH! He was never one to rely on magic considering how awful he was with his wand, but in that moment he wished he knew a spell that could get rid of these things. As it was now, escape was the only answer. They couldn't continue to dodge forever.

Aaron looked towards the exit of the ball and noticed several things. One was that the fires he had noticed earlier were screaming. Were those people? Had someone caught on fire? But HOW? They had gone through a lot of effort to make sure the ball was fire-proof (at least an hour of encasing individual candles in those protective bubbles)! Another thing he noticed was the completely overwhelming number of the flying things. There had to be at least a dozen, maybe even more! Which meant at least twenty-four stingers flying around the ball and attacking students! Why were they even here?

The most important thing Aaron noticed, though, was a certain camera-wielding girl pulling out her wand and attacking one of the creatures by the entrance. People needed an escape route, and it seemed like she was trying to provide one!

"Lydia, after they swoop down on us, let's run and get everyone onto the brooms! We can outfly these guys and get back to the castle!" he suggested, gripping the music stand even tighter than before. As soon as one of the creatures came near, he swung.

Mentioning @Mildred Wilson and @Lizzie Verdine and kinda Mosp #7 (But also any nearby mosps)
Crystal had to do something, she had her wand with her. She saw Mildred hiding under a table, and it seemed like the girl who helped her was going to do something. To her surprise, she tried to throw something at the Mosp again. Something Crystal had noticed while she was hidden, was that most of the mosps were attracted to the flowers, most of em didn't seem to care about people unless they aggravated it. Others seemed to be running with the flowers in their hands to gain the attention of the mosps, but what if they didn't need to hold them, but could still move them around. It would prevent them from getting hurt, or at least decrease the chances. "Hold on..." Crystal muttered. There was a spell that would let her move the darn things without actually touching them, Wingardium Leviosa, the levitation charm. She learned it last class, and she had her wand tucked on the inside of her suit jacket.
Crystal reached around her jacket in the dark, gripping tightly onto her wand. She looked around, trying to find the nearest flowers. Spotting them, she pointed her wand towards them, and with a swish and a flick of her wand she spoke quietly, barely a wisper, but with all the confidence she could muster. "Wingardium Leviosa."
IF IT SUCCEEDS
She watched as the vase of flowers slowly rose into the air, and she let out a small sound of glee. She looked over towards the mosp, and carefully manuvered the vase of flowers next to it. She hoped it would pay attention to them, and get distracted from the things being thrown at them. Then she continued it on a path forward, trying to lead the mosp away from Mildred and the other girl. She slowly raised it higher into the air, leading them up and away from the tables. She had a good feeling others weren't the only ones hiding under the tables. So the farther away she could get the Mosps, the better. Though she couldn't tell if they were going to follow yet, she was hopeful. If not, she was acting like an idiot. But she had hope, and right now that is all one needs.

Where's the Fire?
Several people had realized by now that the fire surrounding two of the students at the ball was not normal - it was connected to the flowers! The priority of extinguishing the fire should be on the flowers! Of course there was some weird, blood magic happening. This was a Hogwarts ball!

@Katrina Walker came running from the other side of the pitch, snatching up about a quarter of the flowers and extinguishing them in goblets of water. In the process, she pricked her finger and could feel a burn flowing through her veins, but as soon as the flowers were in the water, the pain left her. The rest of the flowers were left burning in their vase, waiting to be extinguished.

@Victor Moore, one of the poor unfortunate souls currently on fire, attempted one last extinguishing before collapsing on the ground. Unfortunately for him, his cast was not enough and he collapsed in a heap of flames, losing 200 health as his potion wore off. @Marion Davenport was at his side in an instant, able to connect the dots about the flowers. A perfectly cast spell extinguished the rest of them, causing instant relief to those who were burning. She called out for @Vladimir Athanatos, her cries almost blood-curdling as Victor lay on the ground.

With the flowers finally out, a cast from above (from @Evelynn Decipio) extinguished the third year that had collapsed. He was put out now, but still severely burned. Perhaps the splash of water from @Ivy Bellamy aided his wounds?

Marion Wisdom Roll: 30 (natural 20) (to cast extinguo on flowers)
Evelynn Wisdom Roll: 28 (to cast extinguo on victor)
@Anastasia Beckett on the other side of the flowers was determined to help herself this round. Perhaps the shock of being on fire had dulled slightly as she wielded her wand and attempted to extinguish herself. Coupled with the efforts of @Dealla Prince's successful cast and @May Moonstar pouring goblets of water, Anastasia soon felt the sweet relief of being NOT on fire. She was severely burned, and probably still in a lot of pain, but she was free of the flames!

However, the ground around her had not been extinguished, so it continued to spread. The pitch is still on fire, and it's growing.
Anastasia Wisdom Roll: 15 13 (to cast extinguo on self) (disadv from being on fire)
Dealla Wisdom Roll: 22 (to cast extinguo on ana)
@Erin Ryan and @Oliver Hart mounted a broom together and abandoned the scene of their (attempted) crimes. @Thomas Lestrange was left on the ground behind his fire wall, dancing in a manner that can't be unseen. @Ruka Tan instinctively aimed his wand to release the boy from his curse, successfully ending the boy's dancing fever.

The small wall of fire Thomas had created wasn't something to immediately fear, but it seemed that it was beginning to spread. The firewhiskey that fueled it kept it going long enough to catch on one of the tablecloths nearby. The fire wall had spread and now engulfed a table.
Ruka Wisdom Roll: 20 (to cast finite)
@Erin Ryan and @Oliver Hart successfully leave the ball
Victor's date @Wren Caster over in a corner of the ball had not moved (didn't post) since she had been unpetrified, and would take another 25 damage from the still-burning rose on her ear. However, the rose would now drop to the ground in ashes, completely burnt through.
The Dance Floor
There was a thief on the dance floor who thought he could get away without consequence, in possession of some important items from @Vladimir Athanatos' bag. The owner in question wasn't going to stand for it. He acted swiftly and decisively, bypassing the others on the dance floor in order to reach the thief, @Selim Faust.

"Think you're getting away!" Vladimir grabbed for Selim's neck, but the smaller boy evaded the attack and turned to face the upperclassmen with a dagger in his hand. He lunged forward in an attempt to shove the dagger into the third year's shoulder, but Vlad dodged the attack with the finesse of a practiced fighter.

"I apologize for my actions, senpai- I do hope you don't take this personally, I am merely trying to complete a mission that was assigned to me, nothing more." Selim tried to explain his actions, but it seemed that Vlad was being ganged up on from all sides. From one side, @Bridget Collins cast at him.

"Flipendo!"

Taking 170 damage Vladimir was sent flying, only to be cast at again. This time from behind, his date @Opeila Seilun cast.

"Tarantallegra!"

The upperclassman would lose control of his legs as they began to dance in a fashion against his control. In this predicament, @Jack Burnett would appear with a bottle of (holy) water and splash it in Vladimir's direction. Either through evasion or poor aim (probably a combination of the two), the water did not connect with Vlad's person.

Fifth mosp
"Incendio!"

The recently-wounded first year @Willow Anderson cried out, hoping to finish off this mosp. She dealt another bout of 110 damage, causing the mosp to go from crispy to pretty much dead. With its last breath, though, the mosp attempted one last attack. It failed miserably. The mosp's eyes were melted and it was no longer able to see, so its stingers landed in its ally (Mosp #11), dealing 99 damage to the creature. It was immune to its own toxins, of course, but it still protested to the pain of being stabbed in the chest by an ally.

With this last act, the red mosp hit the floor, completely charred and broken. The creature was unequivocally dead.

This purple mosp had been angered, and it was certainly showing it. It flew all through the entryway: back and forth, up and down, clearly buzzed off. @Santario Martin noticed its agitated behavior and yelled at @Percival Rainwood, who had been the one to . Knowing this was the only real exit for those choosing to forego the brooms, she took it upon herself to clear the way.

"Flipendo!"

Taking 170 damage, the purple creature went flying higher into the air, clearing the way for several students to make their escape. @Griseldis Edelhardt, @Alan Noble, @Maria Dee and @Persephone Barret were able to leave the ball unhindered thanks to her efforts. @Mars T'ien would enter, see the chaos, and promptly leave all in the same breath.

However, the memory of the photographer's face (Santario) was burned into its yellow eyes, and it dove back into the pitch with its stingers outstretched. It found the girl easily, and before she could properly dodge, the twin stingers submerged themselves into her chest, burying deep enough for a painful deposit of venom. As it withdrew, it left a bleeding and painful wound. Feeling accomplished, it flew higher into the air to watch its victim writhe in pain from the 118 damage she had taken.

Unfortunately for the creature, it flew right into the path of @Ariana Walker flying on her broom. The Quidditch player would stick out her leg and kick the creature, causing another 160 damage. The creature would collapse to the ground in front of Santario, dead and unmoving.

Seventh mosp
@Lizzie Verdine would not give up her fight to distract this mosp. It was angry at her for throwing things, and she was angry at it for attacking her Hufflepuff friend @Mildred Wilson (who had also thrown things). Its attack of Mildred was presumably the reason for Lizzie's nickname "Huffle Hater." Nonetheless, Lizzie decided she wasn't done throwing things. She grabbed a random object from a nearby table and threw it at the mosp as hard as she could - only to find that she had grabbed a napkin. The blur that she saw was the gentle floating of the paper as it floated in front of her, getting nowhere close to the mosp. What a surprise that must have been for the young first year!

The mosp was smart enough to notice the intent behind Lizzie's throwing arm, even if she didn't end up throwing anything of substance. Although its beady yellow eyes caught sight of a vase of flowers that had been successfully levitated by @Crystal Jagger, its fury at the Ravenclaw on the ground was a more powerful pull. It zoomed to the ground with stingers outstretched again. Lizzie reacted quickly enough to dodge its efforts, though, and the mosp once again rose into the air without landing its attack.

@Ethen Emrys and @Atlas Reid were giving this massive red mosp a run for its money. In all this time, it hadn't landed a single blow, but that was about to change. It swooped left and right, causing confusion among the two young Hufflepuffs, before zooming in for the kill. It stabbed both of its stingers into Atlas, whose floral dress briefly made the mosp linger. Its proboscis would flail at the decorative ornaments on the dress, quickly deducing that they were fake, then the mosp would retreat. It left a bleeding wound in her chest and a whopping 122 damage. Fighting through the venom that was now coursing through her, though, Atlas would raise her wand and cast at the mosp.

"Tarantallegra!"

The mosp would once again lose control of its bulbous body, and it would begin to shake its lower extremities. The tiny little legs/arms that were flat against the mosp's body would begin to do a little jig. Although it still maintained control of its wings and flight, its butt and stinger began to move about wildly - out of its control. It seemed like it would have a hard time attacking now.

@Lydia Cooper and @Aaron Jones were in the sights of two red mosps, one of which now descended on them. It was focused more on the girl, who smelled positively divine. Lydia nimbly dodged out of the way (yet again) and landed a hit with her shoe, dealing 25 damage to the beast. Aaron cranked the music stand behind him and swung, finally landing a hit, but only able to deal 56 damage with the thin piece of metal. Their plan was to run, but as the mosp rose back into the air, it was clear that it wouldn't let them out of its sights now that they had dealt more damage.

Last round, @River Dewlight had produced some flowers that attracted this mosp's attention completely. But it was growing restless, looking for something else that might be fragrant and fun to chase after. Its eyes landed on @Zykeal Lane, who was leaving the area to go someplace else. The mosp had no idea where, but it was intrigued to find out. Especially given the fragrant smell the boy was giving off.

Eleventh mosp
This mosp was positively furious at the fact that it had been mistakenly stabbed by its own ally (Mosp #5) who now lay on the dance floor dead. @Flash Holmwood's attempt to tackle the creature failed miserably as the mosp spiraled out of the way, flying higher so it could slam its stingers into the boy. As it descended, though, Flash made a spectacular dodge of his own and was able to avoid the enraged creature.

@Dale Kurt continued to mock the red mosp with his lack of retaliation (no post). The mosp once again launched itself at him, missing miserably.
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 8 vs Dale Evasion Roll: 11
Thirteenth mosp
@Adam Harrringtom was thinking quickly on his feet. He didn't have much time to act and keep the mosp occupied so the first year group could escape. Where could he hit the beast that would deal the most damage? It wasn't hard to deduce that the fleshy, bulbous part was probably the most vulnerable. As Adam slid underneath the mosp, his ingenious plan meant he had an advantage over any plain old attack.

"Diffindo!"

The spell was cast and landed, but the mosp struck in that same moment. The creature sank its twin stingers deep into Adam's torso and dealt 115 damage at the boy below. The wound would be full of venom and burning. But in that same moment, Adam sliced open the creature and wrecked it, dealing 190 damage of his own. Adding another 100 damage missing from the last diffindo cast Adam slid the rest of the way out from under the creature to avoid it collapsing on top of him. It now lay cut open and dead on the ground beside him.

Fourteenth mosp
This mosp had an ally (mosp #9), but working together clearly wasn't its strong suit. The mosp dove separately from the other creature, allowing @Lydia Cooper the time to evade (AGAIN). It was growing agitated and somewhat bored, and it seemed like it might choose to find a more stagnant creature soon if it did not find purchase on its next attack.
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 12 vs Lydia Evasion Roll: 21
Fifteenth mosp Philipe
Philipe was not happy with his current predicament. The mosp would struggle against the uncomfortable conditions, and it would take @Charlie Woodward's entire action just to avoid getting stung and keep the mosp from getting free of his restraints. Philipe was not happy to be there, and he was definitely making it known. It seemed Charlie would be unable to even attempt an escape with the purple mosp moving the way it was, constantly trying to attack and get free, rocking the broom precariously for the two occupants already onboard.

@Evelynn Decipio would get her wish to not leave, as the broom didn't get far at all before Charlie had been forced to stop and wrangle with Philipe. Her spell cast down at the fires below actually helped Victor, successfully freeing him from the fire.

Sixteenth mosp
This mosp was no longer satisfied by the boutonierre's that @Vincent d'Arque had tossed aside. It wanted something more. A glance around the ball revealed a vase of flowers were being floated into the air. It caught the mosp's eyes. The creature would fly up to vase and become engrossed in the flying vase's contents.
Mosp Distracted by Vase? YES (1)
Twenty-first mosp
Perhaps because it was ignoring the boy nearby, this mosp wasn't viewed as very threatening. @Percival Gray thought it would be a good idea to just reach over and grab the flowers from the mosp. This was a mistake. The mosp reacted quite vehemently to its pride and joy being stolen, and its stingers landed themselves in the boy's arm. Percival would take 97 damage as the twin stingers pierced his arm, depositing some very painful venom and reducing the accuracy of his future movements. As he grabbed the vase of flowers, he would have to do so with his non-dominant arm or risk dropping them. As he ran away, the mosp would follow angrily.
Mosp Accuracy Roll: 19 vs Percival Evasion Roll: 14
Twenty-third mosp
This mosp would descend on the fragrant-smelling boy down below. @Rafael D'Spacito was so preoccupied by his task, carrying his bag across the pitch to set it on fire, that he hardly batted an eye when the mosp swooped down on him with stingers outstretched. He nimbly dodged out of the way, perhaps not even realizing he had done so. The mosp would have gladly followed the boy for another swipe, but he was nearing a fire. That was a no go for the mosp. It angrily buzzed around, looking for its next target.

[font=Segoe Print]The fire was catching.

With every moment that passed, the fire burned brighter, eating away at the bag in the clutches of the fire. So satisfyingly bright, sparks dancing before the eyes of the young boy, lighting up his face, his demeanor – the sight was utterly perfect. A solace to the cold heart of the entranced boy, leaving his being full and teeming with hope, satisfaction, righteously angry energy. He was doing the right thing. He was. Perhaps the method was far from the righteous to choose, but by God, everything was falling apart. The Ball, friendships. His own code. He was losing his touch, identity, in the hot, licking flames, watching the bag slowly burn into nothing. It would be a hot moment before the bag actually caught fire, more before it incinerated. He’d better do well to keep people from interfering with his plans, then.

Before he could do anything to defend himself, however, disaster struck once again – surely enough, a cursed bat from hell swooped overhead, trying to steal away his health and train of thought. It seemed as if the universe were against his efforts with the bag once again, sending its serendipitous elements at the cursed child with a new, dangerous sort of ferocity. No matter, the boy had been fighting fate long enough to know how to evade its nasty clutches. The mosp had caught him by utter surprise, but the boy’s quick reflexes were sharper than his shock – he was able to narrowly dodge the winged creature, his muscles acting on adrenaline and not thought, the ghost in the machine only tightening its grip on his consciousness. He didn’t know what this was, what drug was running through his veins, what cursed monster had hijacked his thought. He could only succumb to its clutches, a soldier to its will, his actions now fueled with rage and impulse. An even more deadly monster than before – but a danger to others, or himself?

It would be then, that he would pull a sock off of his foot – a nasty, stinky, sweaty sock, reeking of manliness and victory. Most likely what the poor Ricky was after. If only he had asked nicely, perhaps the Gryffindor would have given it to him. But no one dissed Rafa and got away with it. He was the alpha predator, and he would do well to get that fact across to the damned mosp. Stepping back, curling inward, much like a pitcher ready to hurl his baseball at the home plate, he trained his iron gaze on the creature – and then released his sock of death through the air in one swift movement. If only the article of clothing had been a real ball, perhaps he would have chanced actually hitting the creature. However, the sock being light, the wind soon caught it, the sock landing pathetically a couple of yards where he stood. The failure didn’t stop him from telling the son of a bitch mosp his feelings. “DIE, MOTHERFUCKER!” he yelled in a deadly growl, his face contorted in rage. “NO VUELVAS, MALDITA MURCIELAGO DEL INFIERNO!”

His expert cursing seemed to work – the mosp was leaving, hightailing it away from the obvious danger in which it faced. Good. The Captain allowed his limbs to relax, chin cocking upwards as he turned his back on the monster. If the universe’s tendencies were anything to go by, there was a high chance that his decisions regarding the bag would be contested by his peers. That was fine. He was angry, fuming with a rage he knew he had never once felt in the entirety of his life. Everything was fucking burning. There was no point in stopping the inevitable, especially when one could harness the power for good. The fire was slowly destroying the bag, and with it, Victor’s hopes for hurting his friends. First Wren, and then Ana. There would be no more hurt. There would be no more pain.

There would only be fire.

Katrina's frantic and delusional idea to grab the roses and dunk them in the goblets somehow worked. But in the few steps it took to douse them, she managed to prick her finger on one of the stems. No big deal, right? But the instant she had, fire coursed through her blood. Almost causing her to drop the flowers. The pain, the fire, traveled through her blood? Katrina looked back to the flowers in an attempt to grab more and saw that they had been estiguished. The people who were on fire too.

Suddenly, Katrina's left ear began throbbing and ringing. Her ear! Katrina had already forgotten about that. She again put her hand up to it and flinched at her own touch, ignoring the reflex tears that came with it. Her hand was stained red. The second-year's ear was bleeding a lot more than she thought it had been.

The adrenaline already running low, she looked out over the mess of a ball. Two people burnt almost to a crisp, a couple dead mosps, many more mosps attacking people. Her smoke spell had now stretched across the entire pitch. So much for helping. One mosp in particular (12) seemed to be targeting only one student. The rest of the mosps seemed to be against two or three others but Katrina didn't want one mosp against one student.

Wiping the blood from her hand on her once beautiful teal dress, Katrina slowly made her way over. She was trying to help, but adrenaline and delusional bravery was likely causing her to do more harm than good. Certainly the professors would appear soon and help all of the rest of the hurt students before she ended up getting herself in a situation that could kill her.

Before approaching the mosp, Katrina grabbed a handful of flowers from the side, apologizing to the people who likely painstakingly put them there. Reaching the mosp, Katrina would wave the flowers in the air, hoping to catch it's attention. Once she hopefully did, Katrina would run a few steps from the boy @Dale Kurt and throw the flowers onto a table not too far away.

If it doesn't succeed:
Katrina vowed to put more effort into building up her arm strength. How pathetic was it that she couldn't get flowers onto a table not too far away? She mustered up the strength she had and decided that it was time to get more physical with the mosp. She drew out her wand preparing a spell in her mind.

If it does succeed:
"Come on," Katrina growled at the boy, "You need to get out of here before it decided to come back for a snack," Her voice was low, hoping to not make herself more of a threat to the mosp. The flowers wouldn't keep its attention forever.

May saw that what she was doing was working. Already with hopes raised for the beautiful girl (Anastasia) to stop being on fire. Obviously, the fire stopped, and she wasnt on fire anymore. So May began rummaging into her bag for things to cure her. "W-what can I do?" May said, feeling stressed like probably everyone else. She wasn't a Healers Sage, but she could try.

She picked a tiny bag and began searching for something. After a few seconds, she found some healing Alcohol and bandages. She picked up a cotton tissue and poured a little bit of the liquid in the tissue. Then, she began helping the burned girl.
"I will just sting a bit. But I'm trying my best." May said. Really, that girl looked really alike her friend @Ivy Bellamy. But it wasn't the moment for comparing.

When she finished with the tissue, she bandaged her burns softly. She was trying to help, right? Now, she was thinking, 'I just remembered! Katrina Walker probably could help me out with this.'

She searched for her second year friend. It wasn't easy. There was less fire, but more injuries.

When at last she found her, she began to panick again. "Kat! I need your help! There's this girl...yeah, THAT ONE!!!! And she's burned! I just did a few basics, but you're a excellent healer! Please, help me!"

Now, May was feeling awful for shrieking at her friend. She was a super good one, and once, she had helped her with her broken leg. But it wasn't time for recalling memories. "Can't we just have one normal Ball for once?!

The blue and yellow light that shot from her wand hit the mosp square on shooting it upwards. As the mosp flew upwards, she saw people escaping Four, four people in total escaped. Technically five if you counted one person’s (Mars) random entrance and immediate exit. "Maybe you guys can help put the fires out or help others escape?" Maybe it was that she actually succeeded in helping people escape, that her spell was so successful, or that she was trying to plan for the people behind her, but either way, the allowed distraction would teach her a valuable lesson the hard way.

It wasn’t until it was too late that she saw the mosp’s bulbous body was in her face and its stinger piercing her chest. A silent intake of breath happened as the stingers slid into her chest. Her eyes going wide and tearing up a bit with the pain. It would cause her to take a small step backward to regain her balance, though it is possible, depending on how close Vincent was behind her, she back might have collided with his for a moment. It was only a moment because the stingers coming out of her chest were enough to pull her slightly forward and off-balance. A sharp exhale of breath could be heard the mosp left her with her free hand pressing over the new wound in her chest. She dropped to a knee her other hand white-knuckling around her wand.

Were you supposed to put pressure over a venom wound? Slow the venom… Right. Slow it down. It was like a fire burning rampant through her veins, and too close to her heart, it would spread it faster. Her brain became foggy as she shut her eyes tears unwillingly started to fall down her cheeks, biting her bottom lip hard to stop from screaming and trying to, if only minimally, distract herself from the pain coursing unchecked through her. If she had to rate this on a scale of one through ten with ten being taking skelegrow with no pain dampener like she did after the masque, she would rate this a solid eight maybe eight in and a half.

A thud in front of her forced her eyes open only to see an unmoving mosp. She knew there was no way that she had done that much damage and silently thanked whoever it was that finished the poor creature off. Before, another wave of burning pain caused her to hiss and close her eyes again as if that somehow helped her fight against igniting her pain receptors. Every muscle in her little body was tensed as hard as it could be, and it would be clear that she was not going to be moving by herself.

The pain stopped. It was over. No more fear. No more pain. No more sense of urgency. There once was and now there was nothing. It did not matter what happened, the voices and the screams, most of them his faded away into the darkness. He did not hear Marion cry. That was good, he always hated that sound. He did not see Rafael attempt to level the killing blow. That was fine also, he should have known better. Seeing it would have only added to the anticipation and fear. This was not a time to fear. The darkness and the void was a respite from his suffering. A release from his fears and his insecurities. A temporary peace that might be forever, not that he desired it but it was out of his hands. It was queer really how that fact did not make him apprehensive.

For so long he had lived in fear. Time seemed to move of its own accord, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. It was as if there were moments of lucidity in what was otherwise a dream. No, a waking nightmare. The prospect of being or at least pretending to be normal appealed to him. How he wanted what everyone else had and failed to appreciate. To go to a dance with a girl. To make her smile, tell her that she was pretty and for her to be happy that those words were coming from him. To make some friends, laugh and joke. To forget the fact that he died a long time ago, that he was here merely on borrowed time.
Actions: Nothing.

It was her fault. It was wasn't it! She was sobbing when she cast that final extinguo and the flames ceased. Blood magic. Blood magic in a bouquet of flowers. The fool was trying to impress that girl with a 'magic trick.' That romantic gesture was what got him in the end. She always thought it would be his heroics. He was always scared, she could feel his nervous energy across the room. But his fear could turn off like a switch when someone needed his help. It was not that he wanted to be the hero, he just did it even if it was stupid. Even if it was something that could get him killed. She always thought that was what would burn him (an unintended joke) in the end.

Some girl rebuked her for her tears. "Don't try me," her voice shook. "I did more than you," she announced. It was true. If she wanted to cry, she was going to cry. They came from everywhere, unrelenting. They made him burn. They watched him burn. They just let him die. They pushed and they took. They demanded everything as if it was their right. As if it was their due. They were everywhere and they did not care about them. The hell with the 'greater good' or doing 'right' by others. What had they done for her? She choked on her own tears as she felt the squeeze of her hand. It was Arlo. "I am sorry," she was apologizing again and she was not even sure for what at this point. This had to be punishment for something she had done, some unforgivable sin.

She did not push Arlo away. He would feel her shaking, her skin as cold as ice. She wondered if that was what they were going to do to her too. Burn her alive. Like a witch in the old times. Out of the corner of her eye she would see it, Rafael holding Victor's bag over a fire. That was precisely what he they were going to do. That was hers and Victor's blood. They were really trying to kill them both. Vladimir was not exaggerating. She should not have dismissed him. Told him that he was wrong. She should not have gotten so greedy. So lonesome.

What harm was a bouquet of flowers? This was a nightmare. Everything was exactly as Vladimir described. They were coming for them from every side. Dangerous, violent, intrusive. She never stopped holding Arlo's hand as she raised her wand and looked at Rafael.

It did not matter any more. If he did not kill her, hurt her, take everything that she had. The next person would. They were not going to stop were they? She should have stayed hidden. Existed in her tiny universe and been satisfied. She did not believe that they could help her, there was no reason to hope for more when she would not live to see it. Morality a strange thing to consider at her age, but she had been staring it in the eye for some time.

"Flipendo" she announced in a cold, calm voice that was trailed by a sniffle.

Though his attack at Vlad missed, Jack didn't want to miss a beat. Catching sight of Thomas and Ruka out the corner of his eye, the Slytherin's brows steepled in desperation.

"RUKA!!" he screamed at the top of his lungs, pain straining his voice as if he himself was on fire. It might have been less agony for the redhead to actually have been to feel as helpless about being able to save Victor as he did now. Still, they hadn't checked his for breath. The roses were put out and so was Victor's body itself. There was still a chance...right?

"RUKA! RUKA!!" Jack continued, last name formalities be damned. He waved his arms - one hand still holding the torch - and tried to keep his throat from closing up. Whether it was from the tears he was holding back, the choking smoke polluting the air, or a combination, he didn't know. Nor did he care. "VICTOR'S HURT! HE NEEDS YOUR BURN SALVE!" If there was anyone other than Selim who was prepared with medical supplies at a time like this, it was likely Ruka. And if it was for burns, Jack could think of no one better to treat them. He pointed and gestured animatedly to Victor's prone body which Marion continued to cry over.

Jack had half a mind to slap a hand over Marion's mouth as she tried to call for Vlad, not wanting the Ravenclaw anywhere near the burn victim. However, something caught his eye just then that caused him to change objectives immediately.

D'Spacito.

The idiot Gryffindor was trying to set Victor's bag on fire. Arlo, though he'd previously tried to save it, had given up the fight, presumably on Marion's request. However, Jack was not about to let such a thing go so easily. If the bouquet of roses set on fire had also caused Victor to be, who knew what else of his was tied to his well-being?

Grabbing another water bottle from his bag, Jack unscrewed the top just like he had with the first, keeping his torch in his mouth briefly to have both hands free, before attempting to pour it over the bag and the area around it. He may not have been able to wrestle the bag away from Rafa in a contest of strength, especially if Arlo handn't. However...if the tinder was wet, it shouldn't have been able to catch fire. At least...Jack hoped not.
Action:
- Call Ruka over to ask him to help Victor
- Take out a large, full water bottle of (holy) water from his bag to try to dump over Victor's bag and the area around it so it can't catch on fire
