Amara walks into class and imminently goes to get the paper. It has been a great week of corespondents with Sheep and Amara hopes that it will not stop after the weekend. Amara uncrumples the parchment and begins to read. When she is finished (and grinning like a fool) Amara grabs her ink to respond.
Amara folds her paper up and tries to pay attention to class.

Sheep-
The dungeons are actually pretty cool. We are close to the lake so our windows look out at it like it is an aquarium. And no, I do not sleep on concrete, I sleep on a bed with about 10 blankets piled on it. Sadly, it does not smell like fresh cookies though, but for some reason, it does not surprise me that the Hufflepuff common room smells like that.
I completely agree about potions though, when I went to muggle school, science and math were defiantly my worst subjects.
This weekend, I have no idea what I will be doing. Maybe explore the castle or something. I know we should not meet this soon, but it would be fun to hang out with you. My wand core is snallygaster heartstring. What is yours? And what will you- or what did you do over the weekend?

Ross never did much on the weekends, no no quite the contrary. Even at home on the weekends he would simply laze around as the hours passed by. There was never much homework at home, so it really just felt like a weekday without the school. This habit of his had not changed while he was at Hogwarts. If Ross' future self had teleported from the depths of the future and informed him that he was doing things on the weekend, Ross would likely to believe his future self even if they slapped him in the face. On weekends he would often forget it all, which is perhaps why when he entered class he was much more casual than normal. That same excitement that had kept him rushing in every day was gone, and replaced with pure confusion.
That was until he plopped himself down and he took notice of that familiar crumpled up parchment on his desk.
His eyes widened, realizing he had completely forgotten what he asked. The HUfflepuff anxiously reached towards his stack of supplies and pulled out his quill. The Hufflepuff had to reply, and so he sent himself to work.
Hi Nyx!
I mean, the Slytherin common room sounds okay I GUESS. Still can't beat the candy train in the boy's dormitory based on this cool place. We even got our own little rooms in there and such! I haven't decorated mine though...
Don't suppose you were best at English either though, unless you meant defiantly. Did you have strict parents or something? Is that a wizard thing? Did you get to skip parts of school for being magic? That'd be so awesome!
I think the guy said something about my wand coming from a Phoenix, which I haven't even HEARD OF yet! All I know is they are cool birds. Anyways, I sorta just hung out in the library. wasn't much better to do besides look around, but what's the fun in getting it all over in one day?

Amara had a relatively boring weekend of sleeping in, reading, and hanging out in the courtyard. The whole time, she was looking forward to Monday just so she could read the next note. When the time finally came for History of Magic, Amara imminently went to read the message. When she was done reading, Amara took out her quill and started to write.
Amara set her quill down, crumpled the parchment, and listened to the lesson.

Hello Sheep,
A candy cart does sound nice, as does having your own room. But you have not decorated it *GASP* you should know that I am a master at decor and such. And actually, I am good at humanities type stuff, I must have been distracted or something.
As for strict parents, my Dads are not strict, just a bit overprotective. I did not get to skip any classes but I do not know if that is something others do. And a phoenix core, that is VERY impressive, they are the rarest wand core. I personally love phoenixes for the symbolism though- rising from the ashes and such.
I also spent the weekend in the library working, who knows, maybe we shared a table! Now for the questions... what is your favorite part of campus so far and what is your favorite meal to have in the great hall?
Yours,
Nyx

Ross took a seat, unsure where the conversation was going. It was small talk, but at least it was decent small talk. Ross normally despised it, but he was quite fond of this. It gave him time to think before he responded instead of being forced to come up with something on the spot. It was a breath of fresh air in contrast to the stress that were regular conversations. The Hufflepuff would be rather fine if he just stuck with writing letters to the girl in all honesty, and with how it looked it might stay that way. Pen pals was his cup of tea apparently, and he had not even realized it. He uncrumpled the note again once more.
I don't know if you'd be up to the task! It's pretty cramped. Only enough room for about my bed and a little book stand. Walls are really my only option. No idea where i'm going to get my hands on a poster, but I got a feeling the paintings on the wall wouldn't like it if I took them from their spots.
And Phoenix feathers are rare? Must've been luck or something. Can't recall doing anything that impressive, but I like my wand a lot! It is like a pencil but I don't got to hold it right or anything. Oh yeah, also they make magic. That is pretty interesting too. Don't Phoenix's die and THEN raise from the ash? I don't really wanna die first...
That'd be pretty cool though! My favorite part of the school has to be the Hufflepuff common room! Never found a better place to be. Never an uncomfortable place to sit in that good old place. How about you? Also, favorite meal at school?

Amara had a good day. For lunch, she had her favorite- falafel and hummus and got an O on her charms paper which is the best grade she has received yet. Amara skipped into History of Magic excited to read Sheep's latest note. She was getting used to having a pen-pal. Amara uncrumples her note and begins to read.
After reading the note, Amara takes out her quill to respond.

Sheep,
I have no idea where you could get a poster, but I do think that the posters would be upset. Their personalities are very amusing.
I agree with your point about wands though, mine has almost become an extension of my arm. And yes, phoenixes only rise from the ashes after they die, but I think about it slightly differently. I like to look at it as if death is more like a hardship and they grow from it to become stronger.
Anyways, my favorite place is probably my common room too, or the great hall or this nook in the library that looks out into the lake. My favorite mean... breakfast. I am NOT a morning person, but I have a love for a late breakfast with creamy tea. I guess that leads to my question, what is your drink of choice and what is your favorite painting in the school?

Ross had spent the last couple hours since the last note carrying a weight of dread that seemed to bring him down. Of course he had his hopes up that perhaps meeting the mystery girl would be just like an adventure, but what would happen after that? Was the mystery the only thing that was really keeping it going? They did not seem to have much in common besides their admiration for charms. He was drawn in enough to be curious certainly, but why would she feel the same? Was it even a good idea to meet this early? His head was filled with doubts, but he had not a clue how to solve them. Should he solve them?
Perhaps he did not have to.
Procrastination was always an answer
And so that was what he decided to do once he took out that ink of his once more.
Hi Nyx!
Well, I'm no longer really in the business. Never was really. Once my dad met my mum, he gave up that part of the business to the rest of the family while he changed to my mum's business. They own a little bakery and all, so I really only know how to make some stuff and such.
Levitation really isn't as cool as it seems! Can only do it with some stuff, no living thing. It's a tad bit boring, but I suppose it could be cool for decoration and all. Bet you those candles are held up by the same charm!
And well, I was thinking about it and such and was thinking maybe we should wait a little longer maybe.
No No, Ross was not a fan of how that sounded. He was not a Coward. He was not going to just back out like that, it was rude. He had to try something else. He scratched it out and tried once more.
While tense, he let out a relieved sigh. He had avoided confrontation for another dayMaybe we should keep it more of a mystery! Perhaps we should try to figure it out or something on our own and reveal our guesses in a week or two maybe through the paper! I don't really know much of anyone, so I can keep a look out.

Amara had been freaking out all day. She deeply regretted bringing up the idea of meeting Sheep but knew that she would appear coward-like if she dropped out now. As Amara walked into History of Magic she started to think about what she would say. Maybe lie and say she got sick or that she has a ton of work needs to catch up on. When she got to her seat and opened the note, she relaxed; Sheep clearly was also not ready to meet. Amara sighed in relief and took out her quill to write a reply.
Hello Sheep,
A bakery, that’s so quaint and adorable! Do you bake? If so, what is your favorite thing to bake? I wish I could cook or bake but I am a total klutz in the kitchen.
Anyways, I think you had a point with keeping this whole thing a mystery. I think we should keep going until we figure out who each other are, or like until one of us guesses the other.
Should we continue the question thingy? If so, I should tell you something about myself in this note. So far, you know that I am a snake, a girl, I am horrible in the kitchen and that my mother was a squib. Anything else you want to know or that I should tell you? Maybe favorite colors? Mine are emerald and black. What are yours? I just realized how many questions I asked so I am going to stop now.
Bye,
Nyx
