The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.
When you just pass the door from the Entrance Hall, Hufflepuff's table is a bit far. This table is the fourth one, after Gryffindor and Ravenclaw on the left and Slytherin on the right. Hufflepuff students are sharing meals and good talks at this table, and you will always be warmly welcomed there.
This is a RPG topic where all students are welcome to post.
All RPG rules apply. Word count per post is 200 words, not including quotes, ooc chat or other people's words. Any flood type of message will be deleted after a warning owl is sent.

Minyu made her way down to the Hufflepuff table. She still had no idea what to expect.
The sorting ceremony had gone fine, she thought, although she did find it a bit awkward that her sorting had gone on for so long. She was eager to learn more about her new house. While waiting to be sorted, she had heard chatter among the other students, learning that some had strong preferences. Luckily, Minyu, who had grown up in a Muggle household, was still pretty clueless about everything Hogwarts. She was just happy to be here, regardless of the house.
She sat down on the first empty seat she spotted and turned her attention to the food. She had suddenly remembered how hungry she was. The nerves from earlier must have made her suppress her appetite. After all, the last time she ate was on the train, and that was hours ago, and Minyu wasn't even sure if half of a chocolate frog counted as food.
The table was filled to the brim with more food than Minyu had ever seen in her life. There were tons of food she didn't even recognize, but it all looked delicious.
She decided to start with the chicken drumsticks, and after what felt like seconds, Minyu had mindlessly filled her plate up completely with everything within her reach.
She was shocked when she saw the plates she had just emptied fill up on their own. Minyu still hadn't gotten used to the magic here.
Everyone at the table was chatting and eating, but Minyu was still too afraid to join in. She had never been good in big groups, but she still obviously wanted to make friends. She knew she was too shy for her own good and felt her cheeks redden. She hated being shy and suddenly felt a pit in her stomach. What if she would never make any friends here? Spending the next year all alone in such a big castle surrounded by people at all times sounded like torture. She needed to at least try, and desperately wished for a new Hufflepuff to come to the table. She didn't want to interrupt anyone else.

━━━Ability━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━The Sorting Ceremony continued after Elara took her seat at the Hufflepuff table. Every few moments, another name echoed through the Great Hall, followed by applause from one of the house tables. She watched each first year wore the old hat before finding their place among their new housemates. By the time the last student had been sorted, the hall had grown noticeably livelier. A moment later, the empty plates were suddenly covered with food.
Elara paused and blinking once. She had expected to see plenty of magic at Hogwarts, but watching a feast appear all at once was still enough to catch her attention. Around her, the older students carried on as though nothing unusual had happened. They passed dishes along the table, reached for serving spoons, and continued talking. Following their example, Elara served herself a little roasted chicken, potatoes, and vegetables. Several dishes looked unfamiliar for her, but they smelled good enough to make her curious. She decided would try them another time.
The sound of cutlery against plates mixed with laughter and conversations that drifted from every direction. Every now and then, Elara caught the names of professors, bits of stories from older students, and places around the castle she had yet to see. She quietly tucked the unfamiliar names away in her mind. Most of the students nearby already seemed to have someone to talk to. Elara didn't mind listening to all of it. It had always been easier for her to learn about people that way.
After taking another sip of pumpkin juice, she glanced toward the student seated beside her. They looked about her age, and from what Elara could tell, they seemed to be another first year. Elara smiled a little. Then she looked back at her plate, quietly continued her meal. Elara considered introducing herself, but decided to wait a little longer.

“HUFFLEPUFF!” the sorting hat shouted as it perched on seraphina’s head. a burst of applause echoed the great hall as she joyfully sprung out of the chair and waltzed over to the hufflepuff table, upperclassmen cheering and welcoming her in. her hands were buzzing and her mind was crazed. “hufflepuff…just like mum,” she thought, smiling to herself. seraphina looked over at the ravenclaw table, her older sister evangeline flashing her a huge smile and a reassuring nod.
although a small part of her had secretly hoped they would share the same house, she couldn't help but feel proud that she was continuing her mother's legacy. hufflepuff had shaped her mother celestine into a strong yet incredibly compassionate leader in the ministry. if hufflepuff had seen something in seraphina, perhaps it meant that she, too, possessed those qualities, even if she hadn't discovered them yet. the thought filled her with a quiet sense of confidence.
the sorting ceremony droned on for what felt like forever until the feast began. within a split second, the long tables filled with what felt like endless plates of food. slices of roast beef the size of pumpkins, towers of shepherds pies, and trays full of treacle tarts filled the great hall with the rich aromas of a feast unlike anything seraphina had ever seen.
seraphina’s mouth gaped open. her eyes caught evangeline’s sitting at the ravenclaw table, giggling to herself as she watched her younger sister’s reaction to the endless feast before her. “i'm in heaven,” seraphina thought. her eyes darted around the table and grabbed from every plate of food she laid her eyes on, amazed by how each tray immediately filled back up. on her far left, a heaping pile of chicken drumsticks caught her eye. as she reached out to grab a few, she noticed a young asian girl quietly eating across from them.
seraphina noticed the girl’s eyes glancing around her, silently observing other’s conversations. she studied the girl for a moment. the girl looked around her age, though she seemed decently shorter than she was. she was quite pretty, with pale skin and hair that fell just past her shoulders. unlike some first years who were eagerly chatting away, she seemed more reserved, carefully taking everything in. “she must be a first year,” seraphina thought to herself.
“hey, do you mind passing me that tray of wings?” seraphina asked the girl with a friendly smile. the girl looked up, seemingly surprised to be spoken to, before nodding and sliding the tray within seraphina’s reach.
"thanks!" seraphina said, before turning back toward her with a bright smile. “by the way, i’m seraphina ashford! what’s your name?”
