Similarities PV Alina Closed

Alina received the letter. She first thought it would be her Required Quill-Pal, Ravenclaw Nell Zoldak writing to her. Her second thought was her father. She had written him a little more these last few weeks at Hogwarts, asking him about having friends visit for the summer, asking him to visit friends, discussing the possibility of sleep overs and all that sort of thing. Charles Rosier seemed to be glad that this one daughter was making friendships.

When she got the letter, she read it over a few times. She still wanted to forget about how much of a fool she made of herself that first day. She had come a long way. Some of the best people she met had been in Hufflepuff - and yet still, when she sat down in any class the first thing she did was put on her Hufflepuff tie and the last thing she did after the class was dismissed was remove those Hufflepuff colors. It was a badge that she still wasn't ready to wear so openly, even if when she had to wear her robes it was upon there. Her hair mostly covered that up.

Maybe the letter was from a Slytherin that knew her identical twin sister, Bella who was in that house. Maybe it was some sick twisted Truth or Dare thing. Alina usually did spill her feelings, but not right away and not without meeting someone. Still, if there was someone out there that was feeling as miserable as she had, shouldn't she do what she could to try and stop that misery? So Hufflepuff of her.

Dear Lucia,

Hi. I'm surprised you didn't immediately think I made a fool of myself at the Sorting Ceremony. I didn't mean to make such an outburst but it's ridiculous! A ratty old hat deciding where we should be? No determining our future goals or personalty test - just a ratty old piece of clothing that should be tossed out in tomorrow's rubbish bin.

I feel that we are in the same boat. My father was sorted into Slytherin, as were his parents, and their parents, and so on and so forth. I'm not sure if you saw but my twin sister was sorted right after me and even SHE got Slytherin. I think I would have...if it weren't for me sassing the stupid hat.

It's no use talking to the Headmaster, just a heads up. The almighty piece of headgear rules all and decisions are final. I even talked to the Head of House and nothing.

I am greatly sorry if you feel how I do. If you do...you're not only confused and angry but downright scared about what your family will think. I have forbid Bella to tell our father about it and right now am letting him assume I was placed in Slytherin. Sometime I'll get around to telling him. I think.

I have to be honest here. I think you were really brave to do what you did.
Standing up for yourself infront of the whole school... I'll admit that your language was a bit rough but I really do wish that I had your courage.
I don't know what to think of the Hat. They say it can read your mind and determine where you should truly be, but how can they say that when we have become Hufflepuffs?
Hufflepuff is the exact opposite of Slytherin.
Slytherin is for people with cunning, ambition, and Hufflepuff... Well, my mother always says that Hufflepuff is where people go who don't fit anywhere else.
I have to admit that I'm not sure about that, but it's certainly not where people from families such as ours go.

Yes, I think we are. The Fox family has been sorted into Slytherin for generations past and I have no idea how Ebony (that's my mother) will react when she realised that I, her eldest daughter, am a Hufflepuff, of all things.

You have a twin? That's really cool!
I have two younger sisters; I love them to pieces but sometimes I do wish that I had someone around who was my own age.

I haven't told my family yet either.
Ebony sent me a letter the other day assuming I had been sorted to Slytherin and I haven't replied yet. I'm going to speak to our Head of House soon and ask what I should do - I wish there was some way of changing things but I know that for the staff the Hat's decision is final.

I would love to meet if you would like to; where and when?

I have been thinking about a time and place for us to meet, and I had a wonderful idea, though it is admittedly against Hogwarts school rules so you may not be happy with it.
I thought that we could have a midnight feast.
In books about boarding schools, midnight feasts are a part of daily life, and it would be fun!
We could even make it into a small party, if you know any Hufflepuffs who you would trust not to tell. Oh, I'm getting so excited just writing this!
I would be able to get some food from the house-elves in the kitchens, and we could all meet in the common-room at quarter-to-midnight, when all the teachers and perfects are asleep. Then, as long as we are not too loud, we would be able to have some food, tell stories and jokes, maybe have a little dance if we felt like it!
What do you say? Oh, I do hope you say yes!
If you do, we could meet in the courtyard tomorrow at lunchtime to talk it over.

P.S. I probably don't need to say this, but please keep this letter hidden! If anyone found out what we are planning we might be planning then we might get detentions.

I love this idea of a Midnight Feast deal. I cannot say I know what people normally do in school such as this as Bella and I were always taught by a governess before this. Still, it's got to be one of the best ideas there's ever been and I'm glad you've brought it to my attention!

I have met some Hufflepuffs that are pretty great which I didn't think. I thought it was going to be all sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows until I wanted to get sick.

But before we plan this out, yes. I do think we should meet in the Courtyard tomorrow. That way we can make sure we're both on the same page with the planning process. I do like a good plan! I'm a listmaker by nature.

We can get together and discuss our plans for this. It's a good goal to work towards. I have a Slytherin friend who our year's goal has been trying to get into the Forbidden Forest. No luck on that though.

I wonder if it's a pureblood thing... I and my sisters were always homeschooled by Ebony.
Great! I still don't really want to be in Hufflepuff, but I guess that we should make the most of it - still haven't told Ebony though!
It's brilliant that you're a planner person - I can plan, but I don't often write anything down if you get what I mean - I keep it all in my head!
The Forbidden Forest? Wow, I'm not surprised that they haven't had any luck! I wouldn't dare go in there.
