Katrina turned to Mars, "Just Katrina is fine. I always end up being too formal... product of my mother I guess," A smirk pulled at the side of her lips.

Katrina was suddenly surrounded by people. A familiar Slytherin jumped into the conversation just after Katrina. "Hey Adonis," The lioness gave him a wave watching as he popped some of the tasty snack in his mouth.

The leader, whom she still needed to figure out her name, explained that the popcorn was from her mother. Katrina gave her a crooked smile and shook her head in fascination. That was a ton of popcorn for one person to make.

A loud, "Bren, Bren, Bren," Distracted the Gryffindor. There was a Hufflpuff-- bouncing? across the courtyard. So the coordinators name was Bren. Katrina was glad to finally have a name to the face.

As Bren introduced all of the names, Katrina struggled to keep up. There was already a growing swarm of popcorn seeking students around. As the mostly anti-social girl she was, the lioness had only met one person out of the crowd. It was only then that she realized there were that many students at Hogwarts. Not at the big gatherings did she realize this, but now. She have a silent laugh and shook her head in disbelief.

"Probably should have mentioned I use they/them. Try to remember or I'll have to jinx you." Mars joked. Katrina nodded, adding the note to her mind, along with all of the names that she had now forgotten.

With the comment about a tragic story, Katrina remembered that she still had to go to the library and research up some Greek mythology. Even as a muggle child, she had never really been introduced to any of that lore and now was falling behind all of the other students who knew much more about it.

Katrina rewound the conversation on her head and remembered that the leader said that 'Bren' was a nickname. However, she couldn't remember what the girl had introduced herself as. Making yet another mental note to follow up on that and ask about it later, Katrina ate some more of her popcorn.

Mars mentioned smelling the popcorn and Katrina nodded, "My curiosity and nose led me," The lioness shrugged with a joking expression on her face. Usually in groups she was worried and hesitant, but today and all of recently, she had been comfortable enough. Katrina still felt the introverted side of her begging her to talk to one person and pull away from the confusing mess of a conversation it had become with so many people.

Yet another first year came over and began talking to not-Bren. Finally, the girl-- Not-Bren-- introduced herself. Crystal Jagger. Another note to add to her long mental list of things to remember.

Katrina tilted her head to the line of popcorn servers and smiled, "Gonna go get some more popcorn... anyone want me to get some for them too?" With the offer extended, Katrina somehow managed to finish her cup. If anyone asked, Katrina would nod her head before heading into the line.

"You could say I organized it," she had chuckled "Though I didn't really plan this, an unexpected package of bags upon bags of popcorn pushed me to do it." Crystal had said in response to him. "Bags upon bags of popcorn? Sheesh. If it was me that all this popcorn had been sent to, I would have probably just kept it all for my dormmates and I to get fat off of most likely." Adonis said with a wide grin, chuckling. He wasn't kidding either, the boy really would've probably kept it all for him and his dormmates. Now that he thought about it Jack probably could've used the Engorgement Charm on them today and fill their dorm up with them. It wasn't a bad idea and seemed like fun. Alas, they didn't have all that popcorn though to pull it off.

"Hey, I'm Mars. I like your name, by the way. A Greek tragedy, as always, but a beautiful guy nonetheless," they grinned at him. "Yeah, I've been told that before. I just hope that isn't the case for me as it was for him and that I hopefully don't die. Thank you though. Appreciate it." Adonis gave them a nod with a bright smile. "Probably should have mentioned I use they/them. Try to remember or I'll have to jinx you." He was told by Mars, his brows furrowing slightly for a moment until finally relaxing as a chuckle escaped his mouth. "Sounds good to me." He said shrugging and taking more popcorn out of his cup to eat as they all conversed with one another.

"Hey," they asked, "Mind if I steal a piece? I was going to try all the flavors but that mess," they pointed to the table, "is too much social interaction for me." Mars had explained to him after asking to try some of his popcorn. "Oh! It's only kettle corn by the way, my favorite." Adonis teasingly pulled his cup towards him as if he were guarding it before extending his arm back out with the cup towards Mars to taste. "Sure, I don't mind. Knock yourself out."

She then remember that there were also two other people standing there as well. "This is Adonis, and this is Katrina," Crystal told Alina, introducing the girl to the two. "Hello," he waved to the girl with his signature smile, "pleasure to meet you." He pulled his cup back towards him once Mars had presumably finished taking some from his cup to try for themselves.

"Oh how did you guys hear about it? I know a few of my dorm-mates were talking about it to some of their friends," Adonis simply munched on the kettle corn that came from his cup, raising them to this mouth all the while listening to her question. He swallowed the bits that he had put into his mouth until finally speaking, "Well, I was on my way towards the Great Lake to study," Adonis raised the book he had placed in between his legs when he walked up to the group earlier. It was Curses and Counter-Curses by Vindictus Viridian. Katrina probably would've recognized it from when they had first met at the library in which he looked towards her with a smirk at the thought.

Eventually, the leader of this gathering and the party had finally introduced herself to them and Adonis gladly made a mental note of it to remember her name. He was glad to be meeting so many new people as of recently. "Nice to meet you, Crystal." Adonis said with a nod until turning to face Katrina upon hearing her offer. He looked down at his cup and noticed how quickly he ate most of it alongside with some of what Mars took, which wasn't much at all. "Me, please. Kettle corn. It seems Mars took most of mine already." Adonis said teasingly towards Mars as it was obviously a lie, handing his cup over to Katrina to take with a smile and nod in thanks.

"Oh! It's only kettle corn by the way, my favorite," Adonis said. Mars reached a hand out, assuming that meant he gave them permission. But the snake pulled the cup back, closing the top off with a hand. Mars gave him a little look, but he didn't allow for more than a second of confusion before laughing and tipping it back to them.

"Sure, I don't mind. Knock yourself out."

Mars shook their head and took a small handful just to spite him. The boy promptly proceeded pop a few more into his mouth, chewing softly. Mars did the same as they listened to Katrina and him explain how they'd come here. It seemed like all of them had been drawn by the buzz and the smell.

The kettle corn was good. They liked it a little more than the salt and vinegar popcorn. They'd always had a bit of a sweet tooth—the kettle corn reminded them of lollipops and bubblegum. How long had it been since they'd had either of those?

"Gonna go get some more popcorn... anyone want me to get some for them too?" Katrina offered.

Adonis looked down at his cup and then asked, "Me, please. Kettle corn. It seems Mars took most of mine already."

Mars snorted. His tone was obviously teasing and Mars shook their head as they punched him lightly in the shoulder.

"Right, totally," they rolled their eyes and then strode over to Katrina's side.

"I'll come with you, if that's okay?" they glanced over at the line almost snaking around the Courtyard, "Seems like you could use the company. And I wanna get a look at the rest of the flavors."

Faking glaring at Adonis, they said, "Besides, the people over here are accusing me of being a kleptomaniac."

Aurelia was on her way to the owlery. She wanted to send a letter to her parents to tell them she got sorted into Gryffindor. On her way through the corridors, she took a look at the numerous paintings lining the walls and the shiny silver suits of armor. She still couldn't believe that she was actually in Hogwarts. It was so much bigger and so much more beautiful than she had ever imagined. She looked curiously at a painting of an old lady, that was drinking wine.

A swarm of students passed behind her and whispered excitedly. Somewhere she caught the word popcorn. Aurelia spun around. Before her was the courtyard, where dozens of students were gathering. A lot of students were standing in line and some were eating what seemed like popcorn. Aurelia stepped closer and suddenly the smell hit her. It smells like cheese... and vinegar. Aurelia entered the courtyard and was surprised to see boxes over boxes of popcorn, all labeled with different flavors. Salted caramel, cheesy, rainbow, brown butter... The long line of students was waiting to fill up small plastic cups with popcorn. Since when is there free popcorn in the courtyard? Aurelia was always down for free food and immediately joined the line. She choose the rainbow flavor and ate it peacefully in a corner. That was delicious. Now I'm really curious to find out who made the popcorn. Aurelia asked around and after a few clueless people she found out from a third-year that it was a girl named Crystal who set up all of this. He pointed her towards a red-haired girl standing with a couple of other students. "She is right over there" After hesitating for a moment she tapped the red-haired girl on the shoulder and asked: "Hey! Are you Crystal?

Katrina was offering to get popcorn for other, but considering she had already had more cups than most others, and was already feeling full, she decided to not go for any more. With the amount she was eating it definitely wasn't very healthy. She should probably stop before she overdoes it. She turned to Adonis and Katrina "It's nice to meet you as well Adonis, you too Katrina. Oh and," she turned to the exited Ravenclaw that had recently showed up "I don't think I caught your name," she mentioned to her. There were so many people, so many names she would need to remember. So she wanted to make sure she got all of them. "I don't really need any more popcorn, I have a few more bags saved for later if I want them so I think I'll be fine," she told Katina. She heard mars say that they were going to tag along with Katrina, and then gave a fake glare towards adonis. "Besides, the people over here are accusing me of being a kleptomaniac," they said. Crystal gave a small snicker "Maybe you are a klepto, we don't know!" she teased mars. She was considering tagging along as well, to catch up more with mars. But that thought was cut off by a tap on her shoulder. She turned around and saw another Griffindor standing there, with dark brown hair that seemed to be dyed blue at the ends. "Hey! Are you Crystal?" the griff asked her. Crystal nodded, "Yup! That would be me, do you need anything?" Crystal asked her.

Alina smiled in greeting to the others as Crystal introduced her to everyone. "I adore your mother," she said in response when Crystal answered for probably the 10,000th time where the popcorn came from.

Flashing Crystal a smile she let her converse with the others as she walked back over to the table. She had first grabbed a bit of the buttered popcorn flavor but it was time to get more adventurous. She took a bowl full of the rainbow because it was the prettiest of all the kinds.

She wasn't always good at talking to people at first. Alina was a bit full of energy and just didn't give the best of first impressions so she thought she'd hang off to the side for awhile and enjoyed some of the popcorn. She wondered what Crystal's mom was like and figured someone who baked a lot had to have a sweet personality - no pun intended. But to make something for others to enjoy just said to her that her mother must have had a giving personality and wanted to make others happy.

That must be nice. Alina couldn't hardly remember much about her own mother. When she was still around, she really wasn't present and surely she had never baked anything - they had the hired help for that.

Let your confidence shine, pretty girl. <3

Aurelia got a chance to look at the Hufflepuff. She was a bit shorter than Aurelia, with greyish blue eyes and freckles spotted over her nose. She had seen the Hufflepuff before, in the corridors, although Aurelia wasn’t quite sure why she remembered this face. She noticed two of Crystal's friends heading towards the ever-growing popcorn line. "Yup! That would be me, do you need anything?" Aurelia hesitated for a moment, unsure if she might have disturbed something, but then replied: "I am Aurelia Roberts, but you can call me Auri if you like. So that you don't get me mixed up with the other Aurelias". She was still confused as to why so many people shared her name. “Sorry to disturb...”, Aurelia sighed and looked at the other students behind Crystal chatting happily. Aurelia still hadn’t found any friends and her heart was slowly sinking. “I think many people have probably asked but... how?” She gestures towards all the popcorn boxes piled on the table. “It’s really good by the way. Do you mind if I get some more? I still have a bunch more flavors to try”, she mumbled quickly with a wavering smile. Aurelia doesn’t like showing her feelings and always wants to seem brave, happy, and energetic towards others, although at this moment it is not quite working. The extrovert in Aurelia just wanted close friends she can laugh with, just like in this group.

More poeple, more mental notes. Katrina matched Adonis' smirk when she saw him draw out the same book that he had had in the library. With a nod, the second year grabbed his cup and added another mental note for kettle corn.

Mars offered to go with and Katrina smiled glad that if she forgot any of the popcorn refills that at least they could help. "Sure, thanks!" Katrina laughed at her comment directed at Adonis, "But you have to help me remeber which is which," The Gryffindor grinned.

Just as Katrina was almost ready to leave she caught her name and she nodded in thanks at Crystal (Who's name she had finally caught).

"Alrighty Mars, off we go!" With a look at the increasing number of people greeting Crystal, Katrina turned an headed off to the line. She needed to refill Adonis' cup with kettle corn, hers with another flavor and probably Mars would get their own.

The line thankfully was pretty quick, even though it was really long. "So Mars, I haven't really seen you around. What have you been up to?"

Katrina was happy that this was such a calm event. Usually there was chaos and hurt people, it was Hogwarts after all. But this was refreshingly calm and no chaos had sprung up yet.

"Maybe you are a klepto, we don't know!" Crystal exclaimed. Mars shot her a falsely annoyed look.

"Right, and you're a Rougarou," they retorted. Katrina snickered, grabbing Adonis' outstretched cup from his hand.

"Sure, thanks!" she said to Mars' question, letting her own cheeky grin slide out, "But you have to help me remember which is which." Mars faked another long-suffering sigh.

If I must," they joked, walking over to Katrina's side. Mars turned right before they departed to wave by to the popcorn people. Crystal seemed like she wanted to say something, but before she could, another Gryffindor tapped her on the shoulder. Mars heard her say, "Hey! Are you Crystal?"

They snickered as Crystal dropped her sentence, a look in her eyes, and turned to the witch. The poor girl. She'd really be explaining this madness all day, huh? Mars turned, walking over to Katrina's side.

"Alrighty Mars, off we go!"

They nodded with a smile, amused by the lioness' enthusiasm. The two of them traveled through the crowded Courtyard, weaving their way around the excited popcorners, and over to the end of the line. It actually moved much faster than they'd thought, people quickly scooping up cupfuls and going to other places of the yard to chat with their friends and snack on the tasty treats.

"So Mars, I haven't really seen you around. What have you been up to?" Katrina asked. Mars looked up at her in surprise. They put a finger on their chin, trying to recall their half a year's worth of activities.

"Well, classes are breaking me slowly," they said, "but other than that, I've managed to learn guitar, climb up to the roof of the Owlery, and bother a fair amount of people. Not many second-years though," they added with a glance at Katrina.

"I've spent a lot of time moping around the Ravenclaw Common Room too, so that's probably why you haven't seen much of me."

Honestly though, anyone with half a brain could find a way into the Ravenclaw Areas. The riddle door was hardly full-proof protection, unlike the painting of the Fat Lady or the Hufflepuff—whatever it was. But nevermind that, no one in the other houses really wanted to spend time in a room built for studying anyway.

They glanced over at Katrina at the end of their answer.

"How 'bout you? Get into any trouble this year?"

"I adore your mother," Alina told Crystal, and she laughed. "I adore her too, she really is the best," she smiled. It made her wonder about Alina's parents, maybe she could meet them sometime? Maybe over the break she could try and hang out with her if Alina would be fine with that. Crystal was also amused by Mars' retort to her calling them a klepto, a rougarou is some sort of werewolf like creature if she remembered correctly. The griffindor that had tapped her on the shoulder finally spoke up "I am Aurelia Roberts, but you can call me Auri if you like. So that you don't get me mixed up with the other Aurelias," she told crystal. Crystal made a note of that name, and the nickname. She hadn't really met any other Aurelias yet, but Auri was a cute nickname. Auri appologized for disturbing Crystal, but she didn't really think of her asking a question disturbing. “I think many people have probably asked but... how?” Auri asked. Oh boy, here we go again, "My mother went into a baking spree, but this time over popcorn. She sent the results to me, so I had to figure out how to do something with it," she explained to Auri. Auri gave a wavering smile and mumbled “It’s really good by the way. Do you mind if I get some more? I still have a bunch more flavors to try." Crystal nodded and gestured to the popcorn "Go right ahead, there is plenty of the stuff to go around. And I'll tell my mother that people like them popcorn," she smiled kindly towards Auri. For a Griffindor she was rather shy, but it was sweet in a way. "If you wanna talk to someone, you can always talk to me," she told her, grinning.
