There was one thing he missed and even, to an extent or another, yearned for while in the UK. And that was the sun. The whole fiasco with this country not getting a sunny day in forever was, at times, a slight exaggeration and, at other times, very true. Then again, the climate was very different regardless. And while Kasem did enjoy not having to melt in the sun half the time either, in days like these, it was more than welcome. Not too warm, not too cold, it was a perfect start to a summer day.
He also secretly took advantage of the free time to take Suriya on a walk, more or less, yes...a cat...on a walk. The furball even had a harness with a small bell on it, with every movement, a soft tinkling resounding (likely also ruining any attempt for the orange cat to hunt if he so wanted to. Fair to add the only thing Suriya would hunt, though, would be a pre-packaged treat sticks with how unbothered he was.)
Wind breezing through, some plants in full bloom, the sun giving a slight warmth, almost as if too scared to scorch too much. An ocelot playing with dandelions. A what now?!
He had to do a double take here, stopping in his tracks observing the slightly bigger than a house cat feline roll around in the grass, trying to pin some of the dandelions down only to free them from its claws soon afterwards, as if playing tag with the plants, all the meanwhile not even a puffy seed from the flowers was moved, it was with such care that the cat was playing with them.
On any normal occasion, and any normal person, be it wizard or muggle, would at least question (slightly if not a lot) why an ocelot of all things was there. How did he know it was an ocelot and not an oversized house cat with more defined markings? Well, he knew his cats, and to be fair, it didn't take too much knowledge to at least come to the conclusion that this was no domestic animal.
It also didn't require much thought to realize this was not...exactly a wild animal either. For one, why would an ocelot be around so many people, and on school grounds, to top it off? Secondly, well, you know the saying, it takes one to know one? Call it gut instinct, or observation of how the spots created intricate, albeit a bit unnatural-looking, patterns in the fur.
For what felt like a solid 20-3o minutes, he had observed from afar, to the point even his own actual house cat was looking at him confused, like he was the weird one, not the ocelot animagus, gently playing with dandelions.

Malaika Omenuko was in love with the Earth. The coursing rivers through dense forests, clear streams within which swam aquatic creatures ; the stones covered with moss, overshadowed by tall reed reaching for the skies ; flowers blooming alongside a trail forged by countless feet, all converging towards a singular point ; tall and imposing trees, each circle of their trunk another hundred years added to their lifetime ; and human — laughter, dances, losses and loves, every single moment that composes a life unique to one individual. The dragonfly had a fierce love for anything living, anything inert, for the beauty and danger of this world. For the Earth.
In her mind, the only way to fully and completely appreciate what Mother Nature had gifted their planet, aside from experiencing it through her human heart, was to merge with it. Become one with nature, with its creation and its inhabitants. Malaika had to become an animagus.
The process was long, tiring, at times painful. It resulted in odd situations — like someone finding you asleep in your own yard, believing you passed out. And yet the result was worth every single tear, every single pearl of sweat dropped in the process. Malaika adored her animagus form. Agile cat, she could climb any tree, run for miles without feeling the pang of exhaustion knocking on her ribcage, explore the wilderness and become part of it. She would spend hours, days at time, running through forests and lands alike. Clever-eyed, she would seek shelter in the voided bark of a tree, in its hearth. Drops of rain would pearl from the sky, gently crashing against the leaves above her head, as she rested her muzzle against her crossed paws, and closed her almond honey-colored eyes.
Within the shape of an ocelot, her mind and soul were aligned with the universe — her human swirling thoughts smothered, the worries of the future, the memories of the past, dissipating to leave room for the present. Because she was transforming so often, and because within her transformations, she spent hours on end thinking in very human processes, reflecting on her life and the choices that brought her there, Malaika had an excellent control of her animagus form, and could transform for lengths of time without fearing her psyche would slowly become more animalistic.
Exploring Hogwart's Grounds under the form of an ocelot had become her new favourite activity. Scotland had new smells, new herbs and flowers, the likes of which she had little seen before. Having obtained the position for less than a day, Malaika had had few moments truly belonging to herself and what she decided to do with her free time. Today was one of them — late morning dedicated only to exploration of Hogwarts wilderness.
Oh look, a dandelion! Must be the last of the season.
Hopping excitedly, Malaika lowered her muzzle towards the cloud-like plant, eyes glimmering with mischief. Knowing exactly how much strength would cause the fleeting achene to be carried away by the wind, the ocelot quickly made it a game of capturing one within her claws before gently letting it go, jumping around the area with childlike wonder. Caught in the bliss of her game, she had not noticed a feline presence a few feet away, observing under the cover of the forest. As still as a statue.
It was only when a whiff of wind carrying the intruder's scent blew in her direction, making her head straighten up, alert. One ear turned downward, shifting to catch eventual sounds, her eyes narrowed to slits until she finally spotted the cloudy leopard, and a tinier companion by his side. Aw. Lively, chaotic as always, Malaika immediately identified the new presence as a game partner. Animagi had a special eye to remark the other, and he was no stranger to this phenomenon.
Tail curling in the air, her body arched for a second before being propelled in the air, making a beeline for him. Her paws hammered the ground as she ran, if she had possessed the necessary component to laugh she would have, but perhaps from the other's perspective it simply looked like a feline lunging at an impossibly high speed towards them. Oh well! Who said the smaller creature couldn't be the cat? And she had just found her mouse.
