โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโxxxxIn light of learning the true nature of "Capture the Flag," the Bakir daughter was extremely disappointed coming to revelation that violence was to be kept to a minimum. "Why, my darling sister, the typical human doesn't hunt one another for sport! Remember that! This is 'Capture the flag' not 'Capture the enemy" her brother lightly chastized with a bemused smile, "Buuuut," he lightly conceded, "No harm partaking in a little fuuuuun." As always, he drew out his words in a way she found particularly distasteful; but, hidden beneath the idiotic idiolect, Hana could pick out the underlying message.
xxxx Partaking in fun she shall.
"If you see something that looks dangerous, my advice is to not stick around long enough to find out."
xxxx The words spoken by the tall, handsome man had the young girl's fingers twitch in anticipation, eyes widening at the prospect of her hopes being fulfilled if she transversed deep enough into the dark vegitation. Forests weren't an unfamilliar enviroment to the Bakir daughterโsummers of weaving through tall foliage in pursuit of a bountiful harvest fresh in her mind. But, unfortunately, this sort was. In preparation of such habitat, Hana had opted to exchange her typical heels for more appropriate footwear: a thick boot with decorative spikes running down the back.
xxxx Quietly emerging from the foliage, she approached her first victim to exchanging pleasantries: @Meiyu Xiang. "Hello Meiyu," eyes flickered upwards, transfixed on the new hair that ran down her back, "I find the the new hairstyle you've chosen to be quite pleasant. It suites your features well. I wish you luck in today's activitiesโmay we emerge victorious."
xxxx After bidding the girl goodbye with a blink of the eyes, she sped towards her next victim. She offered pleasantries to the others scattered amongst the groupโ@Evpraksiya Vinogradova, accompanied by a young girl attempting to fuse herself to her side [@Livia Machavariani], a Slytherin prefect whose name she failed to remember [@Charlotte Winfield], and a young man with a considerably sized nose [@Jamie Saeng]โbefore turning towards the more familliar faces. Leaning over the shorter boy's shoulder, wide eyes bore into his [@Aodhan Shaw's] side profile, "Hello Aodhan. You've chosen an interesting outfit for the huntโone, I believe, that shall carry us to victory." Before she could slither towards her next victim, a boy with blackened hair [@Fire Davies] suddently materialized beside her muggle companion While she couldn't pinpoint the particular moment in time she'd met this boy, his odd mannerisms rang familliar. She let out a small huff in amusement at the strange look that donned his features, taking his words into consideration. "You wear a humorous expression, so I shall humor your request. I will present you with 20 galleons if we prevail triumphant..." she paused, head tilting slightly "however, if we fall at the hand's of our opponents, I believe an appropriate punishment would be seeing you hang from the moving staircases at Hogwarts."
OOC notesHana thinks the word "familliar" too many times!!!!!

Toucan vs. Scarlet Macaw
Joseph brushed aside a cluster of leaves, taking in the earthy tang of the rainforest. Something cawed overhead, hopefully a Scarlet Macclaw, that bird thing his team was named after. It wasn't his first time treading through a forest -- he was a rather frequent visitor of the Forbidden Forest back in Hogwarts, after all, hidden under the quiet comfort of his Camo Cloak.
Still, Brazil's rainforests felt... different. More lush and alive and full of little journeys, less 'theres a monster creeping up on you' vibes.
He inched toward his friend, Avery, who had that determined glint in her eye as she watched their competitors. Sizing them up, maybe. Quickly analysing who would be the main threats, or formulating some team strategy. They'd never really established a proper team captain, but she'd have his vote in a heartbeat. Probably her boyfriend's too. That's two.
A familiar voice piped up beside him, and he turned to find his sassy Hufflepuff buddy Emiline. Needless to say, she took the opportunity to tease him again. Joseph snorted, then offered a sheepish grin. "And somehow I'm still not any better at navigating the terrain."
As if to prove his point, a fruit tumbled down from somewhere above and Joseph stumbled back, almost losing his footing on a patch of moss. He seized the nearest thing he could find which turned out to be a tree trunk, causing him to accidentally rip out a piece of bark.
A bead of sweat rolled down his face. He shot the tree an apologetic look.
He didn't even really know how the game worked. Everyone buzzed about capturing a flag, hiding a flag and loads of other stuff he couldn't bother to pay attention to. How hard could it be to just grab a flag? Unless the flag was somehow enchanted to have basic martial arts skills.
That wasnt all that unlikely. He'd just have to hope he didn't leave Brazil with a flagpole stuck up his nostril.
My. That would be memorable.
Life is like a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans; you never know what you are going to get.
Toucan vs. Scarlet Macaw
The further they went inside their allocated part of the rainforest, the quieter Mikey became. Not out of nervousness though or rather not only because of that. It was more the fact that everywhere around him he kept discovering something new to look at. Something caught his attention every several steps. Colorful birds fluttered between the leaves and then vanished. Vines coiled themselves around the trees bigger than any Hogwarts' classrooms. Even the very atmosphere of this place was different. It smelled of wet soil and of something alive instead of stones and books.
Mikey shifted his satchel's strap and glanced at his other teammates of the Scarlet Macaw team. It helped him relax a bit more than he thought it would. Right now Avery was standing near him, looking as gorgeous and thoughtful as ever. Joseph did his best to look as comfortable as possible. And Olivia seemed to observe all the things that surrounded them with the same attentive eyes she always had. The moment she suggested to divide the group into smaller ones, Mikey nodded almost instinctively.
He cast another glance towards Avery, caught her eyes and gave her a friendly smile. Being close to her somehow managed to calm Mikey even when he was standing in the middle of a rainforest half of the planet away from home. Then another person joined their conversation. Mikey turned to the young Ravenclaw and smiled at her. "Pleasure to meet you, Diana." He waved her gently. "I'm Mikey." He gave a quick look at everybody who surrounded him right now.
His eyes turned back to the thick jungle stretching out in front of them. Right now somewhere in there another team was making their plans of their own, hiding their flag somewhere there and, most likely, hoping that Scarlet Macaw would make the first move. The thought made Mikey feel a spark of excitement. Such games always turned out to be more exciting when none of the participants knew exactly how they would develop. Mikey shrugged lightly, grasped his wand tighter and gave one last look at his teammates. "Alright," he said with a grin. "Let's go give Team Toucan something to worry about."

The quiet stretch before the beginning of any contest wasn't quietโ for Evpraksiya, at the very least.
Around her, conversations fluttered through the humid air, someone laughed too loudly a little while back behind her while another student nervously adjusted the straps of their dragonleather gloves for what had to been the tenth time. A few, scattered here and there, attempted fearlessness, though their darting eyes betrayed them whenever they kept glancing back toward the dense wall of stony, inscrutable foliage.
Evpraksiya had pulled her pale hair back into a neat braid that rested over one shoulder, it'd grown longer over the months since she'd cut it and she'd need another haircut soon if she could find a barber of suitable repute in America. It was a more practical choice than what she would've usually gone for but it prevented the humidity from becoming an annoyance. Her uniform had long since been exchanged for clothing more suitable for the jungle enironment that they were winโlightweight trousers tucked into sturdy boots, a fitted shirt, and fingerless gloves that were honestly more decor than utility.
In the comforting noise, her gaze drifted toward the canopy overhead, watching shafts of sunlight slip between enormous leaves. Somewhere unseen, brightly coloured birds called to one another as insects buzzed in an endless chorus (annoying, it would've been a disadvantage for her to put in earplugs beforehand but it was one she was debating would've been it). The air smelled of damp earth, fresh greenery, though rain had not yet fallen in the day.

This event is part of the Castelobruxo International Capture the Flag event
26TH OF JUNE, 2026 IN THE JUNGLE ARENA
MODERATION โ ROUND ONE.
The teams were sent off their bases, and the Headmaster claimed his observation spot in a nearby tower. Since it would take a while for the teams to hide their flags, he calmly strolled through the familiar jungle until he reached the ladder. However, even to him, the nature could be unpredictable. From there, he got a birds-eye view of the different zones and the environmental obstacles that rolled in over the parts of the jungle seemingly at random. He was largely left unaffected himself regardless of what would happen in the arena.
Casually, he leaned over the edge of the observation spot, observing team Toucan in zone one, gathering to discuss their strategy. @Aodhan Shaw was the lone Hogwarts student left in zone one, tasked to build a trap. Whether this was a deliberate choice or simply an unfortunate assignment, Santiago could not determine. It would not have surprised him if the others had ulterior motives to get rid of him. Having little patience himself for the loud, obnoxious commentary, he could sympathize. @Meiyu Xiang had not seemed particularly happy to see him, profantities leaving her mouth at the mere sight of him. Santiago observed the interaction with mild curiosity before returning his attention to Aodhanโs work. Squinting slightly, he attempted to decipher what exactly the boyโs unclear movements were meant to accomplish. A collection of leaves and sticks had been arranged on the ground, and after further inspection, Santiago arrived at the conclusion that it was, in fact, intended to resemble a trap. A rather optimistic interpretation.
Nature, however, seemed determined to make the attempt easier than expected. Perhaps it was due to boredom, lack of attention, or simply a failure to recognize the potential threats surrounding him, but the boyโs attention began to drift. Without any obstacle actively working against him, without interference from the environment or pressure from the opposing team, he ultimately failed to complete even the simplest version of his task.
What and interesting approach, Santiago thought, though the mild amusement was quickly accompanied by disappointment. Santiago faintly shook his head. The rest of the team moved in unison to the second zone, where nothing extraordinary greeted them except the familiar dangers of the jungle, if you weren't careful: the waterfall, dense terrain and slippery rocks.
On the opposite end of the arena, however, team Scarlet Macaw was being put to the jungle's test. The team divided into even groups, though it seemed like @Lauren Wong and @Bree Grey had simply missed the memo when the others moved to zone three without them. The two shellshocked, or perhaps confused, girls were rendered useless, and soon, the Iara had sensed their presence. Materializing in a nearby river by the jungle's edge, she attempted to lure the remaining players into her grasp with her seductive song. Three of the girls were instantly drawn in by the "pretty mermaid", clearly not possessing enough wits to recognize a threat when it stared them straight in the eye. Little did they know that the lovely creatures in Toucans would worsen their chances. For all her faults, however, Lauren snapped out of her petrified state only to scream at the rest before they could become mermaid food, before she, once again, mentally signed out before the team could put her to work.
Hissing, the Iara disappeared into the river once more, though @Olivia Williams, @Bree Grey and @Emiline Hunter suffered the consequences, spending the rest of the round dazed. If they had even realized what had been about to happen was questionable. Either way, @Olivia Williams attempted to lighten the mood with a joke, and it was perhaps by luck that Bree had forgotten to leave the zone, otherwise Olivia's hilarious joke would have fallen on deaf ears. Even @Emiline Hunter heard the joke from further down the trench and laughed along. The trap, too, seemed to become a success, but not thanks to Lauren.
In zone three, the other four members of team Scarlet Macaw entered the thick, dense terrain, where several eyes observed them from the canopy ahead. Leaves rustled and a large group of Capuchin monkeys emerged from their hidings to assault them, though the creatures were mostly harmless. Santiago couldn't help but chuckle to himself as he watched the scene unfold. While they were not dangerous, the relentless animals managed to steal the wand of @Diana Roberts and @Avery Gray, forcing them to run around the zone throughout the whole round in search of their wands. Meanwhile, @Mikey Forville and @Joseph Sims, still in possession of their wands, could afford to merely laugh from a distance at their teammates getting harassed by them.

HOW TO PLAY
The game ends when either team successfully retrieved the other teams flag to their base. Team Toucan will be starting the game in Zone 1 and Team Scarlet Macaw will be in Zone 4 at the opposite end of the arena. There will be at most 10 rounds, each requiring a post of 200+ words. Please make sure you include your character's stats in your post.
During the first round only, each team must state which zone their flag is hidden in to the thread moderator. You may chose to hide the flag in any of the 4 zones. The flag remains in that zone unless successfully discovered or moved through gameplay mechanics. Do not reveal in game where the flag is located.
Each round, everyone in the team must make at least one action from the Capture the Flag actions list, unless they are unable to act due to a status effect or restriction. These actions are zone dependent. The team scores points by making successful flag actions or interceptive actions towards a flag carrier. Please note that players may only move between adjacent zones and cannot skip zones while travelling.
At the conclusion of each round, the zone state map will be updated to reflect all player locations. Players may only target characters who are in the same zone as them at the end of the previous round. If a target moves out of the zone during the following movement phase, the action automatically fails, with the exception of Flag Intercept and non-magical support actions that include a chase mechanic. When performing these actions, the player automatically follows the target into the destination zone as part of the interaction.
If the action fails while chasing, the pursuing player is left behind in the original zone while the target successfully gains distance.
Rules regarding roll resolution, action priority, and other game mechanics can be found HERE.
At least one member of the team must owl the entire teams' action list to @Santiago Peralta before the posting deadline.
DEADLINE IS 120 HOURS (5 days) FROM THIS POST

"money grabber?" Fire echoed, already in annoyance. Damn this kid @Aodhan Shaw was a headache. Why did he even give him the benefit of the doubt.
"Quit trying to mog us, man. Itโs not working." The shrill shrimp spoke shaking his head. Fire furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance, but a stupid goofy smile quirked across his face. Like it pained him.
"Nah, Im not trying I just naturally lookmaxx like that, unlike you victorian fetus child," Fire said attempting to flick the kid's head, figuring it was the lost he could get away with when it came to inflicting damage to teammates.
The then turned his head giving a more genuine smile, speaking of victorian. There stood the girl more equipped for a funeral than a jungle excursion, he raised a single eyebrow in a cartoony way.
This girl was a fascinating speciman of some sort, he didn't feel like figuring it out because 1. That ruined the fun and mystery, and 2. The humidity was making it so hard to think, that he just gave up and decided not to bother with it.
Fire brought up the topic of betting, his favorite pastime of you willed.
The underdeveloped giant was the first to speak up, "Bro, forget the bets. I got something more important, like how youโre being very Oliver Armani-ish lately. Did you know that? Seriously suspicious how youโve been popping up around me so often."
Fire practically gagged at that, doing his best to regain composure. Then a slight fear settles in.
"HOW THE HELL YKNOW MY TUTOR? You soul-snatcher," he said pointing his finger towards what he now considered blackmailing. "Sounds more like YOU stalking ME ! also I consider that an insult, Im nothing like that broccoli headโ" He held his hand out to silence him turning.
It was now time for the living dead @Hana Bakir to tilt her head, but for some reason is was more akin to a scary doll. 20 GALLEONS ?! He liked the way she thought, he was ready to agree and shake on it whenโ
"however, if we fall at the hand's of our opponents, I believe an appropriate punishment would be seeing you hang from the moving staircases at Hogwarts."
"You're kinda a violent punk aren't you..." He paused tapping his chin for a moment, before a huge grin appeared on his face. "You got yourself a deal, I like the way you think Sanderson-Hamilton thing!"
Reaching his hand to shake and seal the deal, although he seemed aloof in nature he noticed the small shuffle Aodhan had made towards him whilst he spoke to the nameless Slytherin girl, which was only nameless because he couldn't recall her name shamefully.
What was up with him? Fire said peering at him momentarily from the corner of his eyes, odd....
The boy didn't get a chance to mention or even investigate the shift in the Gryffindor further before it was time to head out. Maybe he'd ask later, he stored it into the back of his mind for later. For now he just turned to look at him giving him a quick pat on his shoulder, after hearing the given after hearing the given orders.
"Good luck kid," Fire affirmed, before turning catching up with orders.
the group as they made their way through the thicker terrain, the boy almost slipped, thank God he had caught his footing in time as a large drop became abrupt with the changing zone.
Zone 2: Rushing rivers and bonecrushing waterfalls, damn it. He hated water, Fire sneered, it made everything slippery, not to mention he had an irrational fear of drowning, he wasn't the best swimmer, which he'd never admit. He looked at the the rest of him team, wondering the next mode of action.

Toucan vs. Scarlet Macaw
The first monkey appeared to drop out of the canopy too quickly for him to realize anything had happened before Avery had been off after her stolen wand. A second later, Diana joined the race as well, and somehow the whole jungle erupted into chaos. Of course, it wasn't that he found either of the girls losing their wands entertaining. It was the monkeys themselves. Those little thieves appeared to move with perfect confidence, darting through branches as if they'd practiced the perfect wand robbery. Every time it seemed as if either of the girls got within range of her wand, some other monkey popped out of nowhere and moved the stolen artifact further away.
"Stop," he whispered, resting a hand on the tree. Another chuckle escaped his mouth before he could stop himself. "...Okay." Taking a deep breath, he waited until Diana returned with her wand safely stored in her pocket. "...I'm glad you found it." He smiled and scratched the back of his neck. "For what it's worth... Those monkeys definitely know what they're doing. The game hasn't even really started, and I have already imagined how difficult it will be to try and explain that two members of our team have been disarmed by the forest's wildlife."
The jungle slowly returned to normal around them. Leaves continued moving overhead, and somewhere further inside the trees a creature made a distant cry that reverberated across the jungle. "...There are still eyes watching us, I'm sure." Mikey stared upwards. That seemed like the best way to describe what was going on. The rainforest didn't seem to be actively preventing them from reaching their destination. They simply refused to make things easier. Adjusting his grip on his own wand, he examined the dense vegetation that surrounded their little group. Now it all seemed the same in any direction โ huge trees stretching toward the canopy, tangled green vines forming almost impenetrable walls, and sunlight filtering through the leaves in random spots.
That was another thing Mikey found himself doing unconsciously. Looking at Avery, who still managed to look great somehow despite all those monkeys stealing her wand. A little irritated, perhaps. Having your wand stolen by an overconfident monkey couldn't be anyone's idea of a great introduction to Brazil. "...I've decided something," Mikey announced after a small smile. "If monkeys ever ask us for wands politely..." he paused. "...I'm still going to say no."
Because standing around and worrying wouldn't help anyone in capture the flag. Mikey stretched his shoulder muscles and looked around the jungle again. Beyond those trees Team Toucan was doing whatever Scarlet Macaw was doing right now trying to decide what to do next. Which meant they wasted their precious time standing still while the other team prepared.
