The Great Hall was loud and buzzing with energy, as it always seemed to be. Sia’s steps were slow as she entered and took in her surroundings. Her long curls swayed softly with every turn of her head. Up, down, left, and right. She grinned shyly, enamored with the view.
She took a second to twirl, easy and serene. Her steps drifted away from the Slytherin table. There was a curiosity in her, a need to take a good look at all the tables before going to her own. She admired the masses of gentle yellow and wise blue, until she reached the brave color red.
Her eyes were stuck to the crowd of students at the table, all so comfortable and chatty. Distracted, she failed to notice the student near her. Until she inadvertently collided with his shoulder.
“Oh!” She gasped, turning to look at the guy. “I’m sorry! I- I was so distracted. I didn’t see you at all.” She fiddled with the hair tie on her wrist, nervous. She took a deep breath, and put on a polite smile. She extended her hand toward the stranger. “I’m Sia. Sia Rose. Um, sorry again, for bumping into you. I swear I’m not usually so clumsy.”

Sia’s smile seemed to become more sincere, pleased with the response. She pulled her hand back, and pointed at the crest on her own robe.
“First year, Slytherin.” She held her hands together. “It’s nice to meet you, Thomas.”
She swung back and forth on the heels of her polished black shoes, curls swaying along, and glanced over at the Gryffindor table near them. Her smile turned to something more similar to a smirk.
“Quite the energetic group you’ve got here. Is it like that every morning?” She asked in hopes of continuing conversation. She didn’t wish to walk away from the interaction so soon. The guy seemed like pleasant company. There was a gentle feeling to him that she was drawn to.
She tilted her head slightly upward to get a better look at Thomas. He looked slightly disheveled, but still pretty easy on the eyes. Sia’s eyes lingered on the tiny scar on his eyebrow. She didn’t have any scars, but she knew those came with stories. Though curious, she forced herself to look into his eyes instead. The last thing she wanted was to pressure him into telling her anything.
His eyes held warmth, she noticed. They were kind of nice to look at. She tucked a stray curl behind her ear at the thought.
