xxxSkylar cackles like a madman at her friends' reactions, both Ellaine and Paul running in opposite directions. Her hand had slightly less mucus now, thanks to the ever handy Paul towel, but still enough to haunt someone. Though she normally would have gone for her unfortunate housemate, Skylar decides that she has vexed the boy enough today. After all, there was still someone who had not experienced the joys of flobberworm mucus.

"Oh, Ellaaaineeee!" The blueberry muffin, as she was dubbed, calls out playfully, dragging out her friends' name. "Twenty, nineteen, eighteen..." Counting down with a singsong voice, Skylar's eyes track the Hufflepuff's movement as she runs through the trees. She had promised that she would wait thirty seconds, but once the time is up, she is going to chase. She had always wanted to be a Chaser, after all.

"... Three... Two... One! Ready or not, here I come!" She yells out, immediately running towards the direction Ellaine had went. The Gryffindor laughs with glee as she weaves through the trees, undergrowth beneath her feet and canopy of leaves above her. She dodges and jumps over fallen logs, her steps not slowing one bit. Finally, she catches sight of a flash of yellow.

Gotcha.

"You can run but you can't hide!" The girl calls out, her eyes zoned in on her friend. El seems to be distracted, which proves to be a benefit for Skylar as she successfully tags her friend. The poor, unsuspecting girl did not have anytime to react before she got a nice trail of flobberworm mucus down her sleeve.

Skylar grins with triumph and laughs, mirth shining in her eyes. "Got you! Now catch me if you can!" With that, she runs off again, this time finding Paul. "Ellaine got tagged, I repeat, Ellaine got tagged!"

The childlike joy and adventure was evident as the three run through the forest, chasing each other under the green canopy and filtered sunlight.

"Got you! Now catch me if you can!"

A startled screech was all that she managed to do for a precious second, before she was much more distracted by the mucus trailing down her sleeve. She wrinkled her nose, rooted to the spot, debating whether she should try a Scourgify on the offending goo, when—

"Ellaine got tagged, I repeat, Ellaine got tagged!”

Well. She couldn’t very well let her win without a fight, could she?

The rain-wet grass beneath her shoes were trampled in the ensuing chase, and she fancied that her boots must be very dirty, by now. She was sure that a few birds had squawked out of the trees in a flight, what with all the racket they were making, but she couldn’t care less— not when she’d caught a glimpse of blue in the corner of her eyes, and so Blue it was that she pursued!

Running after the blue-eyed menace, she weaved through and between the shrubs and trees, ducking under a stray branch or two all the while. She very nearly went down a few times, slippery mud keen on littering the ground, or almost-tripping over a root poking out of a tree— again— such was her clumsiness, but she always righted herself in time.

“Hey!” An odd-looking log just so happened to be on her path, and Ellaine jumped over it with joy, a giddiness she’d have dubbed childlike catapulting her up a few feet. “Just wait, I’m gonna catch you—” a laugh, and on impulse she sped up just a little bit, honing all the more on her friend— “and you’re gonna make me muffins! And pies! Both of you!”

It was an absurd thing to say, and she didn’t even know why she’d said that, but she was delighted nevertheless when it finally started to seem like she was gaining ground.

For a second, Ellaine wondered where Paul went— she couldn’t see him, but she was sure that he was near them… where else would he be? A movement in her peripherals caught her eyes, and she was momentarily distracted, tripping over something squelchy, sending her sprawling on the ground.

Paul watched his friends chasing each other with a smirk on his face, shaking his head over their silliness, though he was planning to join them soon. He was standing and holding the net bag with the Flobby. He pulled it up then, to the level of his eyes, to speak to the creature.

"Hey, you. Doing good so far?" Did he ask the creature, pausing for a bit, as if expecting it to give him an answer. He turned the back slightly, so that the creature would get an opportunity to see his friends, if it even physically could. "These two... running and leaping creatures, aren't antilopes, but my friends, by the way. El and Sky. Sky's the one that found ya, and also mistook my sweatshirt for a napkin when cleaning her hand with your slime." After that, Paul grimaced, but he didn't look like it bothered him much still. "On the bright side tho', this is a reason to practise the Scouring Charm. And any opportunity to use the spells we know, is good, ya know..." Added the boy, looking around. "I'll introduce ya to them when I can, don't worry. We call ourselves Wayfinders. El came up with the name. I think it fits us, but... you can see that for yourself."

"Ellaine got tagged, I repeat, Ellaine got tagged!”

Paul rised his sight and put his hand with the bag back down to his hips. Sky's voice seemed to be quite distant now, so he checked how far his friends managed to get during his monologue to the Flobby.

Damn, they've managed to get that far? No way! I need to catch up! Ran through his mind.

"Alright, that's it... here comes the cheetah!" Exclaimed the boy, sprinting forward as fast as he could, avoiding as many tree branches as possible, jumping over the shrubs, roots and other obstacles on the ground.

“and you’re gonna make me muffins! And pies! Both of you!”

Paul giggled at that, as he approached El from the side, keeping a safe distance in spite. "Whoa... someone's revved up. Gotta get away from ya, ya could set the forest aflame with that zeal!" Joked the boy, however, kept moving around.

When El sprawled on the ground, Paul was still nearby, so he approached her, the expression in his face worried. "Geez, El. Ya okay?" Did the boy ask, getting his wand ready, just in case it would be needed. "Sky! El's down! I repeat, El's down!" He called loud and clear.
