It was certainly amusing how one could hate someone with such intensity, without really knowing that much about them at all. Surely it would be sensible to think that you would have to have some knowledge and some justified reason to dislike the person, right? In Skys opinion she did have a reason, she did know someone she hated with such venomous dislike that whenever she saw the girl in passing she could feel it pulsing dangerously through her head. Ariana Walker. Ugh she could even think about the girl without it ruining her mood. The girl was too loud, she always attracted attention to herself. She was a typical gryffindor, loyal and dare she say it ‘brave’, hot tempered and naive. And always surrounded by people. Could she be alone without having to talk to someone in 5 minutes? Sky hated these kinds of people, she couldn't understand them. The slytherin girl was often quick to act without much thought, witty comments, snappy remarks, she was well known and respected within her house for her skill to stay quite emotionally blank at times, as not to let her opponent see through to what she was feeling. Menacing and cruel as she was, this was just one side of her. Once the facade was down, the girl was surprisingly soft, kind and fun-loving, unusually shy too. However around Ariana this was a different matter, ever since she had met the girl on the train her presence had consistently brought an unpleasant hatred burning in the pit of her stomach.

Sky was particularly bored this monday afternoon, she wasn't hungry, so she hadn't gone to eat. The castle was deserted, the dim lit corridors silent aside from the distant sounds of clattering cutlery and chatter emitting from the great hall. She found herself wandering around the castles many floors and corridors aimlessly and was not surprised when she found herself straying into an unlocked empty classroom, she usually did these sorts of things. Practicing spells, reading, annoying other fellow first years, drawing [surprisingly] playing quidditch, this was what she would usually do alone in her spare time, apart from plotting her next attack on her disgrace of an enemy of course. Although taunting the infuriating gryffindor did not necessarily fall into the category of ‘standard hobbies’ she found herself carrying out this task quite often.

She sat down lazily on the desk, picking up a broken quill and tossing it into the trash clumsily so it toppled over the edge and lay helpless on the polished floor beside the teacher's desk. Shrugging, she turned around crossing her legs before she extracted her wand from her pocket and began waving it around, refining a few spells here and there. The girl was quite talented when it came to this sort of thing, potions, spells, it all came quite easy to the bubblegum haired snake. It was of course a pure blessing, she didn't care much for strength and physical ability, not necessarily seeing the point of this at all. In fact, she was left wondering why anyone would need such a thing when you had all the possible power at your fingertips? Her bewildering thoughts circled lazily around her head; she felt slightly drowsy, yet stubbornly bored, bitter even. Nothing to do, nothing at all. She thought of Cassie back in the common room, probably waiting for her return from the library, but she bit back the urge to stand up and follow through with her promise, for now she just wanted to lay here and fall asleep, the concept was highly intriguing in fact, she had hardly gotten a wink of sleep the previous night. At any rate she was sure that her friend would do perfectly fine without her, sure that she would assume Sky had some business to do. “Not that I do have anything to do...'' She muttered darkly, still sluggishly attempting to levitate a stray feather from the desk next to her. Peaceful, ha! Well she was in for a shock wasn't she?

It was a boring Saturday afternoon.

Ariana was out of breath, hot and sweaty as she dashed down the dim-lit corridors, coming to a halt outside a classroom, gasping for breath as she placed her hands in her knees weakly. She had left her bag in here earlier, and had forgotten to return to retrieve it. It was only when, halfway through her treacle tart, Janet thought to mention that she hadn’t seen Ariana come down with it. The forgetful girl had choked on her desert, stumbling over the bench as she darted right out of the hall, venturing through the castle's many corridors. As she caught her breath, the brunette now realized that the door was slightly ajar. She frowned. Was someone in there? She thought everyone was eating. Who had decided to skip lunch? Ariana pushed the door open a fraction more, surveying the many desks and chairs before her observant gaze landed on. Oh no. What was she doing here?

Sky Evans. Of all people.

She bit her lip, trapped between the desire to go and retrieve her bag from the back desk, [sky hadn’t seemed to notice it] and to back away, in hope of avoiding another fight. Ariana wasn’t so fond of the pink-haired Slytherin. In fact this came as a rather large understatement.

The young lion resented her.

It was unlike Ariana to step away, as though she were scared, as though she was a coward, because she certainly wasn’t. There were many brave things the gryffindor had done, many natural headstrong instincts that she had chosen to follow. Yet today she didn’t feel in the mood for a pointless row with her worst enemy. She had been so happy until now, why did this have to happen? She internally groaned, taking a further step closer before gathering her confidence and slamming the door open, so that it ricocheted off its hinges, narrowly avoiding Ariana, who had fortunately stepped out of the way to avoid its vicious rebound.

Without sparing a glance for the girl sitting on the desk, she strode forward and picked up her bag from the far table, finally turning round to face her enemy. “I'll just be taking this thank you,” she said in a rather matter-of-fact tone, “no need for such a venomous look, I haven't done anything. Oh but I forgot, that’s just your normal expression, dear me, I’d have thought you would have been wise enough to change that by now” she smiled savagely, slung her bag over her shoulder and began to stroll back over to the door. That had definitely been maybe a little too mean for her liking.

Then something awful happened.

Her bag caught on the sharp corner of a nearby table, ripping it open with an agonizing tearing sound and sending the contents flying everywhere. Ariana gazed down in horrified shock. Why now! She furiously bent down to retrieve most of the books scooping them up into her arms as she repaired her bag and placed them in again, this time with extra care. The remaining mess contained an assortment of ink bottles, sweet wrappers, an old snitch, scraps of old parchment and broken quills. Sighing to herself, she turned to place her bag on the desk behind her. Turning back, she gathered the broken items and walked over to the trash can, temporarily oblivious to the fact that Sky was still in the room. “There!”she commented with a satisfied smile, dusting off her hands as she spun around to see-

Oh no, this was trouble.

Why was that gryffindor everywhere Sky went?

She jumped slightly as the door was rudely slammed open, and her expression of shock swiftly turned to one of deep resentment as the one person she hated most in the entire school strolled in. Honestly where was the respect? That gryffindor really thought she owned the school didn't she? Sky rolled her eyes, sitting up on the desk. Before she could say a word however, Walker decided to open her stupid fucking mouth and comment on whatever the fuck she was doing. Honestly, Sky didn't care if the girl was coming in here freaking play quidditch, the fact was, she didn't need to know. Did Walker have to make sure her appearance was known to everyone? Ugh.

“No need for such a venomous look, I haven't done anything. Oh but I forgot, that’s just your normal expression, dear me, I’d have thought you would have been wise enough to change that by now” Sky scowled back at her, now irritated even more by the smirk that followed Ariana's spiteful comment. Sky opened her mouth to speak yet again, but was interrupted by the tear of material reaching her ears. It took a moment for the snake to contemplate what had happened, but upon doing so, her mouth split into a malicious grin, one that the girl in the room with her failed to notice in her dismay at the ripped bag. “Karma” Sky muttered under her breath.

Now that she was fully standing up, she scanned her chocolate brown eyes over the mess of books parchment and various other items that littered the classroom floor at her enemies feet. Her gaze landed upon a peculiar book stashed among it all and while the gryffindor was over trashing the broken items, Sky quickly reached for the book, a cruel smirk plastered on her face.

Ariana turned back round, her expression of satisfaction turning to one of blood-cold panic in a flash. “Are you looking for this walker?” Sky teased menacingly, resuming her spot on the desk as she waved the book tauntingly in the air. “Who knew that you, of all people, had a diary?” Her tone carried amusement along with its mocking tones, and she flicked the pages scornfully, enjoying the unpleasant effect she was creating. “Well well, lets see what you have to say Walker, no doubt this will be interesting”

May was having the most boring day of the week. Even tho the whole week was boring. Even tho she just couldn't help thinking about the current and unusual events, the whispering and clattering coming from the student's mouth was just...depressing.

As she passed through classroom through classroom, she couldn't help but notice a few whispers in a particular one. 'Is that...Ari?'

May peeked inside the classroom, but quickly saw that her friend, Ariana Walker, was not alone. She was with a pink haired girl, and she didn't seem happy. At least both of them didn't. Feeling that she should know at all costs what they were doing, May entered the classroom, quietly. She layed slightly in the door post, crossed her arms. With a friendly smirk, she said: <<Wotcher doing Ari?>>

Not wanting to disturb the pink hair (May didn't feel a good energy in the room. Maybe it was the pink hair or the special potion they were boiling...) so she didn't say a thing to her. She only signaled with her head to her so that Ariana could fully see, and with a questioning look, asked her thelepatically who she was. But really, the pinky didn't seem at Alli good person. Or Slytherin anyways.

There was the hint of voices coming from one of the classrooms as he roamed the halls bored, he couldn't find much to do with himself at the time being and he had spent it randomly searching the castle for amusement. It seems that he might find some shortly though as he made his way on towards the noises, hearing a clutter of falling books coming from inside. Another girl had seemed to enter the classroom a moment before, his curiosity spiked then. A sly smirk played across his features as he followed the girl in, noting it was the dimwitted Hufflepuff. As usual, Zykeal had his aspen wood wand within his fingers, twirling it like a drumstick, a habit of his that he could never shake. The ivory-colored wand spun seamlessly through his digits like it belonged there, naturally.

A freehand would come to push the door aside slowly, silently he let himself into the classroom where he observed the situation going on. His first notice was of the bright-haired pink girl, it was hard not to see such a color when first entering a room with how much it contrasted against the dull colors of the castle. Golden hues flicked across towards the girl, Ariana was it? Zykeal couldn't remember. They met once before when Katrina made a little party in their common room, but it was a brief encounter and he didn't take note of that interaction, his attention then was focused on another girl.

The situation seemed to be a little tense though inside the room, which made Zyks smirk turn into a full smile. It was like the room had an air of hostility, he'd amuse himself with watching, curious if he could test his charm works on anyone that deemed necessary. One thing was for sure though, Zyk didn't take sides, even of those in his house. Most of the students in his own house, he resented, their bravado was absolutely annoying to him and most of all, he detested quidditch players, which he observed a few of them in the room currently. Letting himself slide into the room, he'd sidestep a few feet and let himself put his back against the wall, still spinning that white wand of his through his fingers.

Zyk had only caught the last few words of the exchange between Ariana and the pink-haired girl, this looked like it would be fun. May's timid introduction was noted, for whatever reason, that girl annoyed him to no bounds; if there were going to be a side taken in this situation, he'd probably favor himself above all others, but he wouldn't let a 2 on 1 situation go down if things unfolded the way he thought they might be headed to. To this regard, he'd decide to speak up, almost trying to instigate the situation, as he noted the pink-haired one holding what she said was the diary of the Gryffindor quidditch player, "Well, let's hear it then," he spoke up, the devilish grin masked in amusement.

The Saturday had been quite pleasant, and most likely would have stayed that way if Lucille hadn't lost her precious note-book."How can I be so stupid?"Lucille asked herself miserably. As she wandered the halls, every so often Lucille would peek her head into an empty class but eventually she made her way to one classroom in particular. When the young Ravenclaw walked in a feeling of uneasiness washed over her.Four students were in in the supposedly empty room, two of which didn't exactly seem friendly towards one another.A nervous looking Hufflepuff had just been followed by a particularly suspicious Gryffindor boy who seemed to be twirling his own wand.Just out of worry,Lucille clutched her wand in her pocket."You'll be fine."She reminded herself firmly."Sorry to barge in,"Lucille announced with an awkward smile."Just looking for a belonging of mine."She added quickly.Lucille was about to look in one of the desks when she truly realized what was going on.Two students, a Gryffindor and a Slytherin,(one with bright pink hair) looked at each other with true loathing for each other."Oh merlin.."Lucille muttered to herself quietly."What if they start fighting?"She thought worriely. As the Ravenclaw took a small step back, Lucille realized why the Gryffindor girl looked so angry. The pink haired girl was holding a diary, and by the look on the Gryffindor girl's face, she knew just as well as Lucille there was gonna be trouble.

A fresh wave of panic now broke over the girl and she stood frozen for a fraction of a second, her voice stuck uncomfortably in her throat as she took in what was happening. No No No! she thought desperately, staring at the diary as though her gaze could magically summon it into her waiting grasp. It was being tauntingly brandished in front of her face and Ariana was helpless. One small flick of the page and Sky would know her secret, her fathomless, grievous secret.

She felt numb with shock, her secrets were hidden in there, it wasn't just any diary, it wasn't just mere writing and thoughts that resided, concealed between the leather bounds that fixed the pages together. There were confessions, secrets, family secrets even she wasn't supposed to know. Sky would be exposed to everything, she would know elements of Ariana's past that the gryffindor had never even dared to talk about to anyone. And finally, as though the numb, blood-chilling shock had been obliterated, feeling came back, rage, anger. It was wiping out every feeling that had previously controlled her body, scorching her insides with vindictive desire.

“Give that back” And her words came out menacing, almost a growl, her tone contrasting greatly to the usually high, ebullient, alluring tones her normal self usually possessed.

She had to make a move.

“Wotcher doing Ari?” The words drifted steadily through her head, reverberating around her brain, and Ariana struggled to identify who the speaker was, her attention was on Sky at the moment, she was surprised the snake couldn't feel the waves of white-hot fury radiating off of her.

"Well, let's hear it then,"

Another voice. And this time the brunette's head snapped up, green orbs travelling to the source of the speaker, a boy who obviously thought he looked menacing, superior even, twirling his wand through his fingers with a malicious smirk on his face, amusement seeping through his features. Arianas eyes temporarily rested on him, taking in his appearance, she had seen him before. Where? At this point it deemed unnecessary, His careless words brought a sense of reality back to her thoughts and she lashed out at him, spriting her words angrily, hardly contemplating what she was saying. He was a gryffindor, one of her own house, yet it seemed he was siding with the snake in front of her, his words leaked, savagely engulfed in cold malicious tones as he gazed expectantly at the scene before him.

“For Christ's sake! You think you look intimidating standing there don't you!?”
She spat menacingly at him, her words coated in scornful disgust. “Lets bloody well not hear it, unless you are willing to take on a few fists coming your way and in any case you don't look in any fit state to accept that offer, so I suggest you keep your fat mouth shut” Although it seemed slightly childish to say, this wasn't an empty threat. In fact she was more than willing to take him on, was it not for the fact that her present needs were on retrieving the diary from the Sky. She wasn't at all that bad at fighting, in fact if she were to flaunt her abilities experience was fact from absence, for her size she was admittingly strong, one element of proof being her amazing performance as a beater. She supposed her appearance did not support this view however, she looked dainty, graceful still, upon meeting, no doubt again a consequence of her veela heritage. As of that, she rather expected the boy to laugh at her, to mock her even.

"Sorry to barge in,"

Another voice yet again, although this time Ariana wasted no time in casting her gaze over to the entrance, where she was certain the speaker stood, harmless, yet Ariana couldnt help feeling already humiliated, an audience was forming, no doubt about to witness her downfall as the words engraved into the pages were slowly revealed.

Sky meanwhile, seemed preoccupied by the newcomer's presence and to Ariana's relief, had supposedly forgotten about the diary temporarily, as it lay loosely clutched in her grasp, her fingers enveloped around the edges carelessly. She had a chance to take it. Why was she even hesitating, she could easily lurch forward and take her on. But was it worth the risk? Was it worth fighting over something that was seemingly so small? She spoke again, mild panic present on her features, forcing her voice to come out calmly.

“I'm giving you one last chance. Give it back. Now."

Janet’s bright green eyes wandered around the hall where various students could be seen eating. Where was Ariana? She had had more than enough time to dash along to the classroom and grab her bag. Janet decided she would wait a little longer and then go and find the girl herself. So she hurriedly shoved down the rest of her treacle tart and picked up her bag, saying goodbye to her fellow Gryffindors. Janet swung her bag over her shoulder and sprinted down the hallway. By now she had gotten used to Hogwarts’ tricky staircases and secret passages so she took a little shortcut through a tapestry hanging over a door and it brought her face to face with a suit of armour. The Gryffindor rounded the corner quickly and pushed the door open gently, she wanted to make sure there were no teachers in there. It appeared empty and she was about to announce her presence but stopped short at the sight before her eyes. Ariana stood face to face with her dreaded enemy Sky Evans. It just so happened that Janet had also had unpleasant experiences with the pink haired girl before her, remembering the last time they had met (when Sky had thought it funny to put itching powder in between her book’s pages) Janet glared menacingly across at her. They were also accompanied by a fellow Gryffindor and a Hufflepuff she recognised as her friend May Moonstar. Janet assessed the situation before her. It was clear that Ariana and Sky were arguing over something and on closer examination the cause of the argument was clear. Bubblegum girl (as Janet liked to call her) was holding Ariana’s diary above her head. Oh no. This was bad. Janet knew that Ariana treated that diary with extreme care and wouldn’t even let Janet read it. She obviously had
some important secrets in there that would be disastrous in Sky’s hands. Ariana’s face said it all, she was obviously terrified and seething with anger. Janet glared at Sky with pure loathing. How dare she make her best friend like this. And Janet knew this was something big as it took a lot to upset this tough Gryffindor. Ariana was so vexed and caught up in trying to retrieve her diary that she hadn’t even noticed Janet standing in the doorway.
“I’m giving you one last chance. Give it back. Now.” Said Ariana with gritted teeth.
Ariana was having trouble masking her worried emotions, which was another sign that something was terribly wrong. Janet couldn’t bear seeing her upset so she spoke up.
“You heard it Pinky, hand it over that’s not yours.”
It probably wasn’t the best idea to mock her like this, Sky was extremely stubborn. She should have been more polite or even better just shut up entirely. But Janet was hot tempered and often spoke without thinking. She found herself clutching her wand tightly in her pocket, hopefully Evans wouldn’t be too stubborn or things might get ugly...

May felt a strong emotion hitting her as someone picked up the diary. <<Stop right there Evans! Or I'll hit you with my wand!>> she picked up her wand from her pocket and pointed it at her.
She didn't want anyone to suffer, and she just hated the fact that the Pink haired Slytherin was about to look inside that diary of Ariana's. After all, May herself had a diary.

<<You give that back. I know a few spells that can hurt you if you open it up.>>

May was prepared. She looked at Janet and tried to use telepathy, but...yeah, that was impossible.
<<And you!>> May looked at the Lane Gryffindor guy, and glared at him. Really, she, May, thought that he was a friend of her childhood friend, Ivy. But that little goblin thought himself proud of his land.

<<I thought you were Ivy's boyfriend Irish boy. I wonder what she would say.>>

She looked at the Ravenclaw, and smiled at her. <<I do not think we need to fight either, but I will do anything to get rid of that stupid diary from the Pinky girls hands.>>

Yes, May was ready. She was wondering, what would be better. Flipendo or Verdimillious? May was already thinking that the pinky was going to have Flipendo and the little Irish guy the Sparks charm. That wouldn't hurt, wouldn't it?

Lucille hoped it wasn't to late to leave the room, but if she did she'd be a coward and honestly the young witch didn't need any help with her reputation.Of course, another Gryffindor walked into the room, this time it was obvious she was on this 'Ariana' girl's side."Am I supposed to choose now?"She asked herself silently.Even though Lucille wasn't the biggest an of Gryffindors, she understood sometimes anyone could be just as bad as the worst Gryffindor. The pink haired girl was practictly swinging the diary in her hand while Ariana and the other Gryffindor girl continued to refer the the Sytherin girl as 'pinky' when asking for the diary back."Look everyone- maybe this is just a misunderstanding. If your not apart of the problem, then just let them figure it out by themselves."Lucille said as she had a nervous smile on her face. She realized her words were probably not going to fix anything soon after she said them. The Hufflepuff girl from before had taken out her wand to start threatening the Evans girl, the Gryffindor boy and Lucille? This was not going to end up well."Look Hufflepuff, I was just looking for my note- book NONE of you have reason to start fighting!"Lucille continued as you looked around the room."Can someone please tell me why this is happening in the first place?"
