Butterflies
Caroline kept her nose in her book, while keeping her grandmother in the corner of her eye. The book was Travels With Trolls, One she had read once before, but out of boredom decided to read again. Her grandmother Patricia was a few feet ahead pushing through the crowded platform. Once they reached a clearing she turned to Caroline and smiled.
"Do you have everything dear?"
"Yes Grandmum" Caroline reluctantly replied.
As her grandmothers finger pulled the book down the security she felt was gone and for the first time she got a proper view of the bustling Platform 9 3/4. The people were loud and moving about like madness Loading luggage onto the train and hugging their children goodbye. The train and the platform itself looked old, built by muggles just like her father. Caroline looked up at her grandmother sadly. "Your Parents would be so proud." Her grandmother said Placing both hands on each of her shoulders, I know I am. Caroline Hugged her grandmother tight.
" It's time to go dear."
she said looking down at Caroline's book. "Now I know you like your studies but I want you to promise me you will have some fun while you're at Hogwarts, Make friends." Caroline forced a smile and nodded. "Yes Grandmum, I will try." Taking her bags, stepping onto the train and looking back she gave her grandmother a smile. This one was real, she was going to miss her Grandmother who had been there for her when nobody else was. They had taken care of each other for years, and now it was time for her to learn how to take care of herself. But that's what she came to Hogwarts to do, to Learn and become a great wizard.
moving through the train Caroline found an empty Compartment and sat her things down next to her. Making herself comfortable in the seat the butterflies began to flutter around in her stomach. She sighed and opened her book turning to the page with the purple ribbon marking it. The butterflies subsided and Caroline felt something she hadn't felt before, excitement.
