Her spell worked! It was the first time in this game she had made something that was truly useful for their team. A wide grin appeared on her face. Yet it was shattered by her own mistake really soon. Her Wingardium Leviosa had done basically nothing. She grunted and glared at her wand for a second. Competitive but incompetent. The worst combination in the sport.

Thinking of the popsicles they could get after winning, Rosaline found some confidence back in her and calmed down. Cece’s console was having an effect on her too.

The benched pair tried again to strategise, but they did even worse than last time. “Wha’s goin’ on?” Silas groaned, eyes desperately trying to track everything that was happening. The updated score was announced, and the other boy echoed Silas’s thoughts. “Wait, how?!?” “Dunno, bruv…” He sighed, shaking his head. Trying to make sense of this was starting to give him a headache.

It seemed Lottie was painfully unequipped for this. Each spell she could conjure in her mind fell short on a breath, lost to her limited knowledge of spell casting despite three years at the bloody school. While her teammates seemed to be somewhat holding their own, she was beginning to stagger behind.

Veela, Keeper's Catch

As the game began, the sunchild found herself cheating during the first very round. Stepping in front of Kaitlyn's stone, she attempted to block it, unfortunately being seen by the referee. However, she still had one shot, making it into the blue and knocking not one but two(?) stones from her very team out of that section in the process. Colin made an attempt to stop or shove her somehow in the process, but Lyanna wouldn't have it, managing to evade him by what some might call sheer luck. The game continued as she waited to play, readying herself for the best moment to strike.

Second-String Actions

Giving up on strategising, all three of the second-strings left on the bench decided to yell out cheers and boos instead. Silas and Sabrina both took the low route, though Silas ended up with a tickle in his throat and his boo ended up more like a wheeze instead, while Sabrina's insults would slightly rattle Meiyu. On the other hand, Max was on the high road, successfully cheering on his teammate Elena. Aly gave all three of them a thumbs-up. "Now you've got the hang of it!"

Player-Based Defensive Actions

Meiyu was certainly having a rough time of it, having been blindfolded by a spellcasting in the previous round. Luckily, she was able to tear the blindfold from her eyes before the next summoning portion. "Looks like Xiang has managed to take off her blindfold. She's back to normal for the first time since the beginning of the match, I believe!"

Player-Based Attack Actions/Debuff Fouls

Four wands were whipped on each other, though only one spell would end up being cast. Charlotte and Rosaline on one team, and Alyss and Della on the other, all had the same idea about getting rid of their opponents' wands; unfortunately, the Exterminator girls couldn't quite remember the incantation. Expelliarmus was cried out by the Ringmaster lasses, but Alyss's didn't quite seem to be correct and no light left her wand. Only Della correctly remembered both the incantation and the wand movement, but her attempt was weak enough to be resisted by her target of choice, Charlotte, who clung tightly onto her wand.

"And no one seems to have dropped their wand this round. Lovely - everyone will get a turn at Summoning!"

Summoning Stones

Aly kept wincing as more and more people failed their casts. "Blimey, that's Xiang's spell not gone off - oh, and Barfield's, too - oh, and Everhart's! Is the pressure getting to you lot? Do I need to remind you that this is just for fun?"

Luckily, the fourth caster in line, Alyss, pulled off a barely-successful Summoning Charm that pulled her stone beautifully into blue. "And Gilmour scores fifty for her team! But will she keep it?" It seemed for a while that she'd have no competition, for the next caster, Charlotte, only managed to pull her stone into green. "Not to be outdone, that's Winfield for forty!"

The last casters, Elena and Cecilia, would each go twice; unfortunately for the young Slytherin, they had diametric fates. "That is Clark's first stone into yellow! Goodness, she very nearly missed that pull - you'll have to be more accurate than that! And she's heard me, folks, for that is a second stone in blue, very narrowly missing pushing out her ally Gilmour's stone onto the grass. Poor Merrick, though, that's two spell failures in a row. Someone ought to check on her, make sure she's all right..."

KOB Fouls

Aly's keen eyes and sensitive stare at the players were ready to catch anyone who tried to shove each other off the stage, but luckily, the players seemed to be scared that three of the ten first-strings were currently in time-out, and no one wanted to push each other off anymore. "This is what I want to see," she called out with a thumbs-up. "A good, clean match!"

• Alyss's stone and Elena's second stone are in blue, and Elena's first stone is in yellow, for 130 points to the Ringmasters
• Charlotte's stone is in green for 40 points to the Exterminators
• Meiyu took her blindfold off
• Alyss failed to cast Expelliarmus at Erast
• Della successfully cast Expelliarmus, but her target Charlotte was strong and held onto her wand
• Charlotte and Rosaline could not cast Expelliarmus because they don't have the spell
• Lyanna, Kaitlyn, and Erast all behaved wonderfully during their time-outs and are being set free back onto the court for next round

• Second-string players will now be allowed to use certain potions on themselves only (since several of you have asked). No, you cannot use foul potions from the bench. Legal ones only. Please see the updated rules for which potions have been added.
• Critical fails on summoning spells will, after this round, give the user 50 dmg.
• I have added an extra bit for Metamorphs who have Impartial under the "Impartial" ability description, taken from Broom Racing.
• HEY TEAMS: Please check your trunks for spells and potions before you send in an action. I hate having to void actions because you don't have something!!! And remember, trunks are locked, so you can't buy something new now.

What could possibly be more shameful than one failed spell? Why the answer was simple: two failed spells! As Cecilia lowered her wand in defeat, she struggled to discern whether her cheeks were burning due to exposure to the heat or shame. Although she rarely experienced the latter, this game was truly cutting it close. It seems that neglecting her studies for the pursuit of 'greater ambitions' -- that have yet to come to fruition -- was not her brightest idea. Knowing Cecilia, it would certainly not be her last.

He had spent far too long trying to strategize over this game that couldn’t possibly be understood by anyone. His head hurt, and so did his eyes from squinting against the bright sunlight. He was starting to severely regret signing up. Fair enough that he was a second string player, but he could at least do something useful! So he squinted at the five girls on the team. His gaze landed on Elena. If he wasn’t mistaken, she had scored them the most points so far. So he racked his brain for something encouraging to shout. He didn’t really know her at all, the only interaction he could remember was being saved from the abandoned toilets. That wasn’t exactly something he wanted to shout out loud about. So he did the only thing he could do: put on a full tonne of fake confidence, raised his hands to clap, and cheered. «You go Elena, show ‘em who’s the boss. Nobody can caw better than you!» Cawing was what eagles did, right? As it was the only thing that came to his mind, he hoped he was right.

Echos of booing had thrown Meiyu off her guard, a scowl morphing onto her features as she tossed an unamused look in the direction she assumed it to come from. Her eyes landing on another prefect who had sat benched for the most part of the game. Meiyu had no idea what was going on in the game, previously too fixated on the pretty Slytherin whom she had began a feud with from this point onwards — somehow, her team winning despite Meiyu's minimal contribution and overall clueless demeanour besides the glances she threw towards the moon's most adorned; Elena Clark.

Upon the removal of her blindfold, her eyesight readjusted to the blazing sun, squinting harshly at the court and where all objects rested. To Meiyu's misfortune and overall lack of luck this academic year, her cast had failed, pure evidence of her lack of practice when it came out out-side classroom spell usage — duelling had thus served as a sheer embarrassment to the lioness, aiding in her motivation for this match even if it differed to what she was typically used to.

Standing near Aly, Kaitlyn crossed her arms over her chest as she watched how the round played out. It wasn’t particularly fun to have a penalty. Thankfully, she wasn’t the only one, and glanced at Erast nearby. As the other students continued the game, her mind revolved around her actions in the previous round to earn this penalty. Perhaps she needed to make different life choices? Ah, now was not the time to worry about that! The round was ending, and she was expected back with her team. She headed back up to the field, once the round was finished.

Hat back on her head, Sabrina was now leaned forward: elbows on knees, foot bouncing, head back in the game. It didn't take long for her to piece together what had happened in the round she's lost to day dreaming. Going off of her rough idea of how the game worked, she decided they weren't doing too bad. Maybe if she played proper attention at the beginning, she would've gone as far as to think they were doing okay. But as it was, she wasn't sure.

Frowning at the prickly gryff, she cupped the side of her mouth to let her disapproval be known, 'Oi, first take a better look at yourself before spouting bullshit about others! Boo,' the last addition might've been childish, but when directed at someone loudly proclaiming their intent of choking her teammate, Sabrina really couldn't care less.
