School was finally wrapping up. "One month left," Veda muttered to herself. This countdown wasn't to imply the idea that Veda hadn't enjoyed this year, but rather to highlight the length of it. Veda had basically doubled the amount of friends she had, and while still heavily focusing on her schoolwork and academics, she had gotten more out of her comfort zone than ever before.

Not to mention the amount of fun she had. Veda's first year was more along the lines of... figure out what is happening and roll with it. Now, she knew the castle, recognized most of her teachers, and had somewhat of a social platform to stand on if something went astray. Likely, it did.

Today was a day like no other. Veda descended from her Charms class on the third floor (thankfully the staircase was the right way this time and she didn't have to take the long way). She started humming to herself as she walked through the hall, but after one too many glances thrown at her, she looked down in embarrassment and stopped her slight tune.

Sadly, the subtle glance down distracted her long enough to not see the girl angrily storming closer. As soon as Veda and the other girl looked up from their distracted states, they realized how close they were too late.

The girls crashed down, books flying out of Veda's bag. Veda groaned, massaging her leg as she fell on the side of it. "Nothing broken, thank god," she thought, shivering at the thought of her last visit.

Veda quickly oriented herself, scrambling to shove her books back into her bag. "I am SO sorry," she apologized profusely, even though the other girl was the one who walked into her. Veda looked up at the Gryffindor's face and braced herself for the elder girl's response.

Lily's day had been very long and exhausting. She was very glad that school was almost over for the term so she could finally relax from the homework they were being assigned. She'd gotten a grade back on her essay and been mortified that it was an A. She was veryyy unhappy so by the time she got out of class, she was fuming. Not at the professor, but at herself for not studying enough and not putting enough hard work into the essay. As she stomped down the hallway she had her head down not really watching where she was going. She looked up periodically to make sure she was still going straight, but this time she looked up too late...and rammed right into a younger girl. Lily lost her balance and her grip on her schoolbag, as books fell everywhere. "Son of a bitch." Lily hissed, rolling over on her side and getting back up. "Watch where your going, girl! Running into people is not a good thing around here." She snapped, a little more harshly than she meant to as she bent over and started collecting her textbooks, stuffing them back in her bag, trying to be quick about it.

Veda swallowed nervously. The girl was mad, with a capital M. Veda finished grabbing her books, accidentally picking up one of the girls as well. She was about to put it into her bag before realizing. She offered it out to the older girl, hands trembling slightly. ”I really am sorry,” Veda whispered. However, she wasn’t sure the girl would hear it. Veda had gone through this before, where a person had something else happening and Veda just so happened to be in the right place for them to blow up at her. In those moments, the other person rarely admitted they were in the wrong, rather choosing to blame Veda. And Veda being herself, she always took it to heart.

”She didn’t mean it, it’s not you,” Veda thought to herself, but it still didn’t stop her from mentally beating herself up or stop her eyes from turning blue due to her being a metamorphmagus. ”Great, now she’s gonna think I’m even more of a freak,” Veda told herself miserably.

As the other girl took the book Veda was offering, Veda stood up with her own bags. She was unsure of what to say, so she said nothing, opting rather to stare at the girl. Her ginger hair popped with her green eyes, and if Veda wasn’t scared of getting verbally berated, she would tell the gryffindor (assumed by the robes) that she was very pretty. That's when Veda remembered staring at someone was rude, and she quickly swapped her gaze to her feet. ”God, I cant do anything right.”

Lily snatched the proffered book back a little more than was really necessary, but at this point she could care less. The day had been terrible and her hormones were all out of rack, so to say she didn't mean any of this was an understatement. But she couldn't back down. Her brain just wasn't wired that way. [purple]"If you had run into someone that wasn't as nice as me, you might be missing a few limbs! Don't mess with the people at this school, or you might not survive!"[/purple]] Lily said in a low voice as she hooked her bag closed after checking that everything was in it. She went to push past the girl before thinking better of it and turning back. [purple]"Learn some spells. You look like a first year. And if you keep running into unknown people you're going to need it."[/purple] As she walked away, she called over her shoulder. "I'm Lily by the way, Lily McCoire. I'll personally help you learn new spells." She walks away, throwing the girl another look, but less hostile this time. Lily heads to her common room, thinking about the run-in. She wondered if she would take up her very generous offer.
