After all of the excitement from her third broom racing match (and last one for her third year), Kaitlyn quickly exited the racing locker room with her Silver Arrow broom. Sadly, the Brisk Basilisks lost. The game was so very close, though! Thankfully, she was doing so, so well with her flying. The vast majority of the race was pretty uneventful … which, to be fair, she was quite happy about. The last thing that she needed was to get injured, so she was happy to have flown so well! Plus, being about to evade many obstacles made her pretty happy. Yet, just like all good things, it came to an end closer to the end of the race.

Her flying had become quite reckless, and as such, she obtained an injury. Kait wasn’t exactly doubled over in pain or anything, but she had clipped a side of a passageway. To her benefit … if you could call it that … was that the passageway was quite narrow! That meant it was hard to pass through. And, of course, reckless flying didn’t exactly help in that regard. Being reckless and hard environmental conditions didn’t exactly mix. Thankfully, the teenager was still young, so she had plenty of time to absorb such information … hopefully … maybe.

At any rate, Kaitlyn didn’t want to pretend nothing had happened. She was still calming down from the adrenaline from flying so fast. Who was to say if she had injured herself? Or perhaps it was a fracture? She honestly had no idea. While she was an intern for the hospital wing, she wasn’t exactly versed in every injury. Plus, while she was a third year, she didn’t know many spells to help with injuries … or potions for that matter. As such, she wasn’t exactly effective. Most of her time was spent watching, after all. As much fun as it was to watch, actually participating was so much more exciting to her (and, frankly, from an educational standpoint … she was far more likely to understand how to help if she participated).

The teenage Slytherin slipped her wand from behind her ear and pointed it at her arm, tracing a lowercase ‘h’ shape and tapping her arm. “fer-ROOL-lah,” she properly enunciated the incantation.

No light shone. As she learned from her Charms class, this spell did not immediately indicate if it was cast correctly. At least, from a light standpoint. From an observational standpoint … well … that was different. Vastly different. Almost immediately, her arm was wrapped in bandages. A slight wince reflected on her face. Pain was never pleasant. This spell was designed to help ease the pain and to hold the bones together. It was very helpful to cast before actually visiting the hospital wing. At least, that was her opinion.

Kaitlyn’s pigtails fluttered in the wind as she immediately headed to the Hospital Wing. Her movements were careful and sure as she moved. No time was wasted on her usual behavior. No posh behavior. No elegant movement. There was nothing graceful about it. Just pure determination. Determination to arrive at the Hospital Wing for treatment. Or, just merely to be seen to verify her condition. Yet, she was well aware that broom racing could cause injuries. Thankfully, nothing worse happened to her. A small smile danced on her lips at her arrival. The Slytherin took a deep breath in, as she opened the door with her other arm and glided into the Hospital Wing.
