When someone like Jimmy has no friends, they tend to stay in their room a lot. And when they stay in their room a lot they polish their wands. When they polish their wand, the wands turn into snakes. These snakes then start slithering all over the room. And Jimmy learns he can speak Parseltongue in order to control the snakes. Jimmy was proud that he could speak to snakes. He became a little too proud, however, and he started boasting about it to everyone he saw. Everyone thought he was rude and always avoided him. Jimmy didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, though, and kept bragging and showing off in people's faces. Even once, he brought a snake towards someone's face to prove a point. The person who got a snake in their face screamed and fainted, causing everyone watching to run away in fright. After this incidence, most people started to whisper whenever he approached their vicinity. One day, he went up to a stranger, and said, "Hi!" That "lucky" person forced a faltering smile and began to sweat. They knew something was not right with the boy that approached them, but they did not want to come off as rude; so they took a step back, before reaching into their back pocket. Jimmy simply had no respect for personal space, however, and stepped a little too close. The person had reached into their back pocket because their wand was there, and so they carefully took their wand out, prepared to defend themself. But Jimmy realized that the person was grabbing their wand so Jimmy reached for his wand too; he was trying to be prepared.
