My Happy Place SOLO

I have never really been completely sure why I loved the library so much. All I know is that for as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be in a small nook somewhere in a library reading a book. I can remember all of the other kids always asking to go to the park or play outside. Never me, though. I used to get picked on by all of the other kids because I am a "nerd."

What really makes a nerd? Being smart? If so, then more people should try to be nerds. If reading can help me go to another world when my own is being difficult, and reading makes someone a nerd, then I am more than happy to be a nerd. I think that the people that don't read are missing out majorly, on a great experience. A world where our rules aren't law. Anything could be anything.

While I was thinking about all of this deep crap, I couldn't help but wonder what kind of books are in the Hogwarts library. So I walked through the door instead of standing there like an awkward idiot. At least five people have already passed me to go inside, so I know that they think something is wrong with me. I swear, I am the only person who could ever embarrass me so deeply that I want to crawl into a whole and never come out.

Anyway, I finally walk through the door and make my way to the nearest shelf. There are a couple of people sitting at a table whispering. And I can see about four people on the other side of the library looking for books. Other than that, no one is in here, as far as I can tell.

I look at the shelf and all of the "fancy" books. They are unlike any books I have ever seen. Most of them are dark colors with little indentions in the spine. Very few of them actually have a title on the spine, which is weird to me. The shelves are a chocolate brown color wood, with beautiful architectural additions towards the top. On the side of the bookshelves, there are spiral columns with gold features. This has to be the most beautiful library I have ever stepped foot inside.

I take a closer look at the books that have words on their spine.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Newt Scamander"

This is the first book I see on the shelf. Immediately I am intrigued. So I pick it up. When I open it, I can smell the inch of dust it has collected sitting on the shelf. The pages are thick and a coffee stained color. I could defiantly get used to these types of books. They are so much prettier to look at.

I can't take my eyes off of the words inside the book, so I walk towards a table without looking up. Most people find this hard, but I do it with ease. I have been doing it for a really long time, so I am basically a pro. I bump into a table very lightly and pull out a chair from underneath it. Once I sit and I am settled, I take off. I read the book as fast as I can while still understanding and learning.

I have to admit, this is unlike any book I have read back home, but I still like it all the same. I can't say how long I sit there reading. It must have been at least a couple hours, but eventually I come upon the last page. I have always hated it when a book ends, but I guess I don't have a choice. I get up and put it back in the same place I found it. I decide that that is enough reading for today, so I am going to go for a walk. Maybe I'll go somewhere new, or maybe I will go to the lake. I don't know.
