Footsteps
Nell say quietly in the back of the library, reading her book. The room was dark, yet the soft glow of the fire in front of her made it easy to read. She brought her pale knees to her chest and continued to read.
Oak shelves surrounded her like walls. Nell loved to read, and she wouldn’t do it without being in the cushioned red armchair. Her black and blue robes draped of the side of the chair. Nell looked toward the clock. It read 4 am.
Nell rubbed her eyes. “Already?” Nell said to herself. Closing her book quietly, she walked over to a small table. She picked up her quill and parchment and began to write with her ink stained hands.
Nell’s routine was to read, then write for a little. Both were things she loved doing.she wrote quickly and lightly, occasionally dipping her quill in the ink. Nell always did this a t night so nobody would bother her and everything would be quiet.Yes, it was indeed last curfew, but she has been doing this for so long now, and never been caught once.
What Nell didn’t know was tonight wouldn’t be the same.
Quiet footsteps approached the door, and Nell heard it crack open. Her heart began to beat rapidly as she saw a tall figure enter the room.

Footsteps
Sabrina had never really slept well, especially at new places. She often would read, even though she was not a Ravenclaw didn't mean she couldn't read! but tonight she couldn't find her book. she must have left it in the common room. She got out of bed as she saw one that one of her roommates was missing. "Probably pigging out in the kitchen..." she muttered, opening the door to the common room. she walked in and looked at the plants. pretty and delicate, she sniffed a rose. "aah." she heard footsteps down the hall, from the direction where the ravenclaws arrive to the first floor from their common room. Sabrina decided to follow the footsteps.
She opened the small circular door and carefully climbed out. she fell on the floor, no matter her attempts to be quiet. "OW!" she shouted. "SHH! can't you see its after hours?" a painting with a man in a silver robe groaned groggily. "back to bed, pip pip!" a portrait of a woman wearing a beard frowned, shooing her off. Sabrina snuck past in the direction of the library. she heard voices. it was peeves and moaning myrtle. why she was out of her privy, she didn't know.
"Go AWAY, peeves. i'm trying to find that girl who snuck out! she left a wallet outside my door! i want to throw it at her! she woke me up!" Myrtle moaned in her squeaky voice. "Whatever! I want to get that wallet to pay Nearly Headless nick to-" Sabrina snuck past and entered the library. who knew how long that fight would take.

Footsteps
Nell turned around, quite surprised. Her mouth didn’t dare to make a sound. The girl who stood in front of her had caramel colored hair that went to her shoulders and fair skin. Her eyes were a really a pale blue, covered by the glasses she wore.
After studying the girl in silence, Nell turned back around and continued to write. She instinctually dipped her quill in ink every time it ran low.
She grabbed another piece of parchment from in front of her and continued her writing. The girl didn’t seem to move, but when Nell turned around, the girl was not there.
Nell looked around and saw her again. She returned to her writing, not wanting to make any interaction. From what she saw, the girl was a Hufflepuff. She looked about the same year as Nell, so a first year possibly?
Nell heard her feet walk around the library, but Nell kept her head low and scribbling quiet. No interaction. No interaction. She kept repeating it in her head over and over.
The girl then took a seat at the table in front of her, but her back was towards Nell. Good thing she didn’t face Nell, or things would’ve been quite awkward.
