Bludgers Build Character unofficial game

Without a word, but with a smile still genuine and wide on her lips, Sabrina steered her broom away from the hoops. If she had done so a second later or looked back over her shoulder, she would've seen the slytherin she so enjoyed talking to do the same. It seemed that even without outright stating their actions, they worked in sync. Shame they weren’t on the same team. The uncast spell binding them together broke the moment they both failed to shove their elbow into someone else's personal space, with only one getting caught and send on a round long detour.

Like a moth to a flame, Sabrina's gray eyes tracked after the flame-like hair. Even whilst missing the whole ordeal, with the help of their referee's shouts, she was able to piece together what had happened. Frowning, her eyes then fell on said shouting black haired girl, who now seemed to be focused on the quaffle action the raven had just tried and failed to prevent. Said outcome left her angry not because of their now tied points but because it was unfair to keep her in the game whilst the keeper doing the same was caught. Sure it wasn't the referee's fault, but before deverting her gaze again, Sabrina couldn't help but spare a thought to the young girl's incompetence.

Soaring through the air brought back an array of memories, the sweet feeling of the breeze brushing through her face, hair fluttering as a rather pleasing chill went down her spine. Flying in the sky was something she'd loved from her childhood; it was the beautiful flower in her thorn-filled life that had somehow grown for the sole purpose of preventing herself from drowning in the anger and grief that constantly surrounded her like an old friend.

Her eyes fell on the quaffle, which had received barely any attention this round from the opponents who were foolishly set on causing harm to her teammates, a rather foolish choice. Still, then again, most of them were barely first years, criticizing their actions much would be hypocrisy from her side, as someone who'd walked on that path in the past.

Her grip on the quaffle was quick as she threw, and threw and threw; before she could realise, she'd somehow already scored 30 points, her eyes wide as she felt the adrenaline that had been pumping in her, her focus almost distracted when a familiar sound graced her ears, her guard building up again as her eye, when she saw one of the opponents too close to her in an attempt to cob her.

Her mere reflexes began working, as she instantly evaded, moving away from the girl. She noticed Dido, the girl, acted blind to the foul in broad daylight while handing Cecelia a lap punishment. Frustration began to fill Elisa, her uncontrollable temper slightly rising as she yelled, "Are you selectively blind or what?"

Quaffle Actions

Dido blushed at the third year’s angry shout, ears going as beetroot as the blood that was likely beginning to drip from at least one player’s nose. Almost as soon as the shame hit her, a modicum of reciprocative anger rose up within her, her free hand clenching into a tight fist. Luckily (for there was no way Dido could win that fight), the match was still in full swing and she had to focus.

At last the game was beginning to pick up as, for the first time, more than one player went for the quaffle. Both Elisa and Livia soared in, copying each other’s breakneck speeds on their matching broomsticks. Though they were almost moving too quickly to realise who had or hadn’t caught the ball, Dido couldn’t help but grin as, time and time again, Livia raced down towards the hoops, having caught the quaffle in the scuffle. It served Elisa right, she thought bitterly. Just as Livia was getting into the habit of securing the ball and throwing it into the open hoops, Elisa seemed to gain a slight advantage and managed to snatch it from the younger snake, speeding away to face Denise at the other end. Unfortunately for the first team, this success didn’t become a habit and Livia was able to score two more goals for the Cloudbreakers, increasing their total by 40 points in comparison to Shakestra’s meagre addition of 10.

“70 : 40 to the Cloudbreakers!” Dido called out with excitement. Strangely, this game really was bringing out a newly developed fickleness in the young Slytherin, which would hopefully be to her benefit.

The Snitch

Dido cast her eye back towards the seekers, making her mandatory check to ensure that they hadn’t yet caught the snitch. To her surprise, the lion she had grown so used to seeing fruitlessly search had been replaced by the second year, Amethyst, who had seemingly recovered from her previous bludger to the head. However, one thing that hadn’t changed was the seekers’ apparent inability to locate the elusive snitch as Amethyst also failed to see any sign of it.

Bludgering

As anyone could imagine from the numerous shouts and dirty looks sent towards the half-giant, almost the entire pitch seemed to be angry at Remy, not least of all his own broom-buddy whom Dido felt a genuine stab of pity for.

With another resounding crack, said boy sent the bludger hurtling towards Ophelia who, unlike previously, didn’t quite seem ready enough to deflect it away with her bat and instead got hit in the side. Not one to be stopped by this, she still made a valient effort to send the bludger towards Cecilia, which Dido couldn’t help but feel was a dirty move given the red-head’s position at the circumference of the pitch. Unfortunately, the previous bludger-to-the-side seemed to have thrown her aim off a little as the bludger just missed Cecilia.

Dido had started the game with so much respect for Sabrina and, until just then, it had seemed like the girl was a perfect role-model, having scored various goals and otherwise stayed out of trouble (to Dido’s knowledge). Sadly, this did not last as, the Ravenclaw sped towards the pair on one broom, seemingly meaning to knock them off.
This time, Dido did notice the attempt and, as Jada steered her broom away, carrying her and Remy out of harm’s way, Dido waved her hand in the air and shouted, “Hey! Hey! That’s a penalty!” she trailed off and muttered quietly, “I think…” before hurridly checking the rulebook beside her.

"Shit!" Ophelia muttered under her breath when Elisa snatched the Quaffle from Livia and scored 10 more points for their team. The opposing team was good, there was no doubt, since they had now scored 40 points overall. But Livia had grabbed the Quaffle again and scored 30 more points for the Cloudbreakers, "Yes!" Ophelia cheered Livia when she scored, "Great job, Liv!"

Amethyst had seemingly recovered after getting bludgered and was now searching for the Golden Snitch. It didn't seem that she had any luck finding it, though. "AH- shit-" She groaned in pain as the bludger sent by @Remy Break hit her side, moving her bat a bit too late for the bludger to hit Cecilia as the heavy ball missed the keeper, "Give it another swing, Remy, would ya? I think my ribs are still intact," she said to him, loud enough so he could hear her. She hoped he understood the sarcasm behind the statement and didn't actually try to break her ribs or kill her if he decided to bludger her a second time.

From the corner of her eye, Ophelia saw Sabrina attempting to blatch Jada and Remy. The former noticed it fast enough to move the broom and dodge the Ravenclaw. Dido, unfortunately for the Cloudbreakers, saw that attempted and announced the penalty lap for Sabrina. Ophelia groaned at that, this time in frustration, and made a face when she felt a small but somehow sharp pain on her side, "Great, just great,"

Cecilia smiled upon hearing Elisa’s protests; it felt good to know her team had her back. She was determined to get her penalty lap over and done with to return to them. Whilst sullenly circling the pitch, she felt a strange sense of deja vu. This lap, like many others she had to complete, was so boring that she had begun entertaining herself by swaying side to side. As she lamented over her lack of involvement in the game, a bludger came barreling out of nowhere and straight towards her. With a swift veer of her broom, she narrowly dodged the attack. It took a moment for her to gather herself, but once she had, Cecilia glanced over her shoulder and stuck her tongue out playfully, feeling no shame. Though it was by no means a foul, it certainly felt like a dirty tactic. Still, she had been in enough matches considered this norm by now. Feeling satisfied with her incredibly mature display, she turned her attention back to the looming clouds and began searching for familiar shapes. One looked like a hare; it could have been a rabbit but she was adamant about labelling it as a hare. An incredibly irritating hare that almost reminded her of – nevermind. With her silly little game keeping her occupied, she nearly forgot about returning her position but she did so upon concluding her lap.

She can't wait to save up for a Silver Arrow, because that's the only reason she feels like both Shakestra and Machiavariani were able to score well. All she needed to do was save up 172 galleons and 9 sickles, which in Muggle money was about £862.65, which was a huge buttload of money that she knew her grandmother could never give her. Well, 10 sickles of stipend a day was helpful indeed, which was about £2.90, not helpful either.

Machiavariani was back again from their rather unshameful penalty lap, and Denise didn't even have to do much, which she was grateful for, as Machiavariani was able to push their total points to 70. She only had to block once, and with Shakestra's gleaming Silver Arrow, she clearly failed.

It wasn't the most boring round, for Merrick was not guarding the hoops at all.

Well, Merrick was doing her shameful penalty lap this time.

She saw Vanderblit being hit by Break and Blake. Well, Blake was mostly the broom rider, while Break was just going violent on anyone he wanted. She winced as Vanderbilt got hit, but clearly she was able to endure. Perhaps due to such an impact, she failed to bludgeon Merrick, which should have been an easier task as she was doing a penalty.

Lyons was attempting to blatch Break and Blake, and Denise looked in anticipation. Sadly, they evaded, and Denise glared at the duo, well, mostly at Break; she rather pitied Blake for sharing a broom with that boy.

Hopefully, their seeker will spot the snitch soon. She really wanted the game to be over with.

Once the pounding in her head eased, Amethyst forced herself to refocus.
The snitch.
That was what she should have been searching for all along.
Guilt settled heavily in her chest as she urged her broom higher, her eyes scanning every corner of the pitch for a flash of the golden wings.
She had wasted far too much time, fouling.
Serving a penalty lap. Losing to a bludger. All waste.
A seeker was meant to seek.
They were doing fairly well, seventy points to forty.
Livia had scored forty points back-to-back for their team, and despite her usual self, Amethyst admired her teammate's performance.
Now would have been the best time to catch the snitch.
They had the lead. They could end the game.
Amethyst darted across the pitch, weaving through players to find the key to their win.
The snitch, however, remained far out of sight.
Frustration gnawed at her.
Her father had won trophies back in the day for Slytherin, and she was flying here, struggling through an unofficial match.
She grimaced for wasting precious minutes on a foolish foul. Her luck and her strategy were equally bad.
Livia seemed to have recovered well.
This match mattered to her.
If she proved herself today, she could finally submit her name to the Slytherin team.
If she failed, well, she did not want to finish that thought.
She had to win.

Leaving the quaffle to Livia's capable hands, through which it slipped just twice, Sabrina angled her broom above the pitch, her eyes were naturally drawn to the rougher orb: the bludger. It came as no surprise, since her prefered and usual position in the sky based game was the one of a beater. This awarness led her to witnessing a harsh collision of said ball with their beater's side. Not enough to throw her over but definitely painful. 'You good?' she shouted out to the black haired gryff (@Ophelia Vanderbilt), eyes already drifting to the only other bat-wielding person in this game, and the one the blow came from.

Angry and fed up with the massive douche, Sabrina leaned forward, urging her broom in his direction. Left without equipment she could redirect balls with, the raven lifted her arm instead, bending it so that her forearm aimed at the opposite beater's side. Unfortunately, the chaser chauffeuring the big loaf around took notice of her agressive approch, moving them out of the way before she could get even close. 'Shit', Sabrina swore, hand grasping at thin air where solid body should've been, only now realising what her impulsive, obviously done foul would cause her.

Flexing her fingers she let her gaze linger on the referee below (@Dido Bleaklane), torso and broom turning to start her lap, 'Oh, so now you decide to see it?' she bit back before quickly whipping her head around, embarrassed and ashamed for the words seconds after they left her mouth.
