The boy’s attitude to collecting seemed to be much like his own. Of course his was dependent on the time of year as well, but that wasn’t so important right now. He made sure to keep a good hold on the rocks he had picked up for the ravenclaw as he too tilted his head and considered what he said. «I guess that makes sense. I spend a lot of time searching too, but I’ve nearly missed several because I was too busy doing something else…»

The comment about sunscreen struck him as odd. He didn’t have the faintest idea what that was. For a moment he was about to ask, before thinking better of it. It was pretty much in the name of the thing already. A sort of wall to block the sun. Not that he understood why anyone would want such a thing, but he wasn’t one to judge. The boy really was very pale for claiming to spend so much time outdoors. So he settled on a slight chuckle.

The mishap leading to Patton getting a head smack did have him stifle a laugh. Not that it was funny that he hurt himself, no. It just looked so comical. He tried his best to shake it off as the topic was turned back to his leaves. He shrugged a bit. «It depends on the time of year to be honest!» He looked a bit closer at one of the rocks before meeting the boys eyes. «It can be hard to tell in spring, when they have barely sprouted. The same in late autumn when they start turning to mush» He chuckled a bit at his own comment. «But I can usually tell in summer. That’s when I do the most of it too… But that doesn’t mean that I don’t take the cool ones that I don’t know yet!»

He shifted his weight a bit where he stood, and looked between all the rocks. Not that he was to tell this boy how to do his hobby, not at all. But even to him it seemed counterproductive to collect more, only to leave a trail behind on the way back to the castle. «So… Do you want help carrying all these back to the castle?»
