The devil wears a nervous coat. That was Dido Bleaklane because she did not expect the nasty and angsty commentary.

Amethyst Castillo got caught immediately trying to cob Remy Break, which, if successful, would be greatly appreciated. While Denise wasn't a friend of Elisa Shakestra, she didn't expect the moderator to bully her.

Perhaps it was because she was previously a beater in Denise's team for another unofficial Quidditch match, but she felt back for the poor Slytherin girl, who, despite her Silver Arrow, did not attempt to score at all. Maybe she should have had it, and Denise only had to watch as Sabrina Lyons scored with ease.

Denise basically did nothing, sitting on her bromo and relaxing, which was rather rare. Denise never really spoke with many half-giants, but Remy Break was a violent one, sending an angry bludger towards Ophelia. Ophelia bludgered it away.

But they weren't done. Livia Machavariani sped off and knocked Remy Break off, but unfortunately, Jada Blake caught him.

How annoying... would have been interesting seeing a bloody crash... Denise thought.

It was the easiest Qudditch match Denise has participated in so far, with doing zero effort and actions, she stretched back, ready to see if maybe Elisa Shakestra will finally start scoring again...

Debuff Fouls

As the two players from the Cloudbreakers began to make their way around the pitch on their penalty laps, Dido grinned, proud of her capable and competent moderating. While Dido was ruminating on her achievement, Sabrina, from the Cloudbreakers, began to imitate her team-mate’s earlier foul attempt. The Ravenclaw whom, as a prefect, really should have been upholding the rules rather than flaunting them, made her way towards the now-animated and playing Slytherin chaser, Elisa, and angled her elbow towards the girl. Fortunately for Dido’s belief in her referee-ing capabilities, Elisa must have spotted the Ravenclaw and soared away, narrowly avoiding Sabrina’s sharp elbow jab. By the time Dido noticed anything, both players were metres away from each other with no cheating in site.

In contrast to the missed foul, Dido immediately spotted the first team’s keeper, Cecilia, rush towards Ophelia. Dido immediately shouted, “Hey! Penalty lap, Cecilia!” While the Slytherin Captain did get herself caught, Dido couldn’t help but admire her bravery in charging towards Ophelia who was carrying an extremely heavy bat.

Quaffle Actions

With most of the other chasers busying themselves across the pitch, Dido was excited to see Elisa, the eldest player on the court, in action. Conveniently forgetting her previous comments, she stared avidly as Elisa snatched up the Quaffle, time and time again, before shooting down the pitch and facing Denise at the other end. Dido couldn’t help herself from whooping as Elisa managed to score three time in quick succession, each shot seeming more and more accurate than the last. Dido was just opening her mouth to yell in support again, absolutely inappropriately given her impartial role, when Elisa’s throw seemed wildly off, missing the hoops by a decent few metres. The final shot continued in similar fashion, Dido’s admiration for the Slytherin fading by the second.

The Snitch

Barely able to tear her eyes from Elisa and Denise down at the hoops, Dido quickly glanced over to Dahlia, checking her progress on finding the snitch. The girl seemed like she had still seen nothing and, in slight worry, Dido double-checked the box beneath her feet, making sure that she had actually released the snitch. Perhaps the snitch was just moving faster than usual that day. Or maybe it hadn’t been the best idea for Dido to run a quidditch game with so many unskilled first years…

Bludgering

Somehow, to Dido’s horror, both Jada and the angry boy continued to ride on the former’s broom, working in tandem. Perhaps seeing the two heads as a larger target, Ophelia smashed her bat against the bludger and sent it spiralling towards the pair. Miraculously avoiding being crushed, the first year’s spun their broom, sending Remy to face the incoming bludger and, as Dido winced, he whacked it away from them. The deflected bludger went spinning into Amethyst on the pitch’s circumference, still flying her penalty lap. In response to the sickening crunch as the bludger hit the girl, Dido felt something almost close to joy: Thank goodness it wasn’t her on that pitch.

It seemed that Cecilia decided it was best to channel her energy into something slightly sneaky. Swiftly flying past the opposing beater, she stuck her elbow out in an attempt to nudge her ever so slightly. Unfortunately, she was not as slick as she thought. Not only did she miss completely, but she had made it so obvious. Unsurprisingly, Dido did not hesitate to call her out. “Ah, it was worth a try” Cecilia sighed glumly and blew a stray strand of hair out of her face. Her lips quickly curled into a smile as she made yet another mental note regarding Dido. That keen eye of hers would make a fine addition to the team, along with the previous potential she had demonstrated on the pitch. Clutching her broom handle, Cecilia quickly diverted her path to begin circling the pitch. It seemed that the rest of her team would simply have to make do without her, for now. In hindsight, that was a terrible idea. She truly lacked the finesse that went into cheating. At least her counterpart, Charlotte Winfield, was not her to witness the disastrous display. She shuddered at the thought of another drill being added to their training regimen. Indeed, things could always be worse.

An impatient seeker rarely succeeds. Such was the plight of the Gryffindor witch. She took to the opposite extreme from where she had begun descending in rapidly-paced laps. Yet, there was no snitch to be found.

Dahlia was bored of her broom's lacking speed. Play continued on the field with three goals scored for her team. She did not care much to notice the two missed. It would have been better, yes, to score them all. However, Dahlia was not picky. The quaffle paled in importance to the snitch. Yet she had become distracted by it. Her nose wrinkled at her own hypocrisy— a private thought that had no place on the pitch.

She was done with the snitch. Clearly, it thought it was more important than her as it had so swiftly managed to evade her attention not once but twice. It would have been noticed more quickly had it drifted towards the center of play. Hence, Dahlia decided, its pursuit was beyond her.

Rather, the witch turned her attention to her teammates. Remy and Jada were two for one on a single broom but managed to intercept and direct a bludger towards the other team's seeker. It was a wonder to Dahlia that Remy had not pushed his own teammate off. Cooperation and complex thought evaded the boy. Her gaze fell to Elisa, the member of their team who had managed to score. It was important to keep her in play, was it not? Cecilia was occupied with her penalty lap unfortunately after an admirable attempt attempt at cheating. The Gryffindor kept the redhead within her frame of vision as well just in case any saving was needed.

All of Jada’s focus was now on manoeuvring her broom because of a the extra weight coming from the brute sat behind her. Remy was, she thought, not only huge and stupid but also incredibly loud. She looked up momentarily, keeping an eye on Remy, to look around. Even if they couldn’t actively help their team, it was the least they could do to stay in the game.

There! Ophelia, a Gryffindor beater, swung her bat sending another bludger flying towards her. She clenched the handle, eyes widening as pure instinct took over and the two of them swung around sharply. Thwack! She heard the ball hit something and braced herself, expecting either to be falling or her broom to become lighter as Remy fell. But no, that would’ve been too good. Remy was still seated safely behind her, she was still aloft and the Bludger was far away.

As far as she could hear from Remy’s deafening screams, he’d hit it and sent it flying at Amethyst on her penalty lap. Honestly, she would be more than surprised if she wasn’t hard of hearing after this game. She didn’t even care what Remy was yelling, she was grateful to still be on her broom.

Ophelia could hear a faint sound of someone flying, ironic because everyone here was flying, but this sound was getting near to her. She looked around and saw as @Cecilia Merrick flew towards her. Hastily evading the impact, Ophelia sighed in relief, which soon turned into a groan as Elisa scored thirty points; luckily, Denise had caught two of the attempts.

Deciding that she should do something right there and then, Ophelia attempted to bludger @Remy Break, who had been saved the previous round by @Jada Blake, and was now on the same broom as her. They saw the bludger coming, and as Jada turned, seemingly expecting to get hit by the bludger, which did not happen, since the bludger intercepted toward-

Amethyst!

Oh no, that was not good. Amethyst was on a pelanty lap when the bludger hit her, "Amethyst!" She yelled in hopes that the girl could hear her properly through the wind and the frequent noises, "Are you alright? Hurt?" She asked, feeling a genuine concern for the girl. As the beater, Ophelia had the advantage of owning a bat, meaning if a bludger targeted her, she could hit it back toward someone else or just defend herself in general. Other players did not possess a bat, meaning they would either have to dodge or rely on her protecting their bones; the thing that Ophelia apparently didn't seem to be doing very well.

Denise clearly did not expect the lack of fouling from an entire team of Slytherins. And she certainly did not expect such incompetence either.

While Sabrina Lyons failed to foul, well, it's not in her nature as a Ravenclaw prefect, Cecilia Merrick got caught immediately, who indeed was a cunning Slytherin.

Denise smirked in joy as the angsty Ravenclaw screamed at Merrick, and had to snicker clearly.

Well, their joy did not last for long. For some reason, no one on their team, confident in their excellent record so far, chose to score.

Elisa Shakestra, after a moment of incompetence and idiocy, finally chose to move, which was rather a pain. However, Shakestra seemed to get exhausted easily after three successful attempts. It was clearly not fair that Shakestra was riding on a Silver Arrow while Denise was stuck with her tattered Comet 180, which was bullshit either way. On the last two attempts, Denise was able to save easily.

Well, it wasn't a good time for the rest of the team as Ophelia Vanderblit struggled to bludger Remy Break and Jada Blake, whom they redirected to their seeker.

How annoying, Denise thought. She was really hoping to win this match.

The penalty lap had ended up awarding Amethyst with the opportunity to observe what was happening around the pitch.

She finally spotted Elisa and almost raised her hand to wave before remembering the older girl was on the opposite team. Even so, Amethyst could not help but smile as she watched Elisa score the third time.

She had undeniable talent.
At the same time, she felt it was rather unfair to Denise.

What she hadn't noticed was the raging bludger that was sent her way.
She heard it a second too late.

Thwart
The bludger collided with the side of her head, and the world began to spin.

But she maintained her grip on the broom, her fingers tightening around the handle far more firmly than before.

Through the ringing in her ears, she vaguely heard someone shout and ask for her well-being. Distinguishing voices proved to be rather difficult at the moment.

"I am fine," managed Amethyst weakly.
The words were less of a reassurance to her teammates but more of an attempt to convince herself.

Slowly her dizziness eased. She still felt her pulse beating in her head.
Rather loudly.
But she had no time to focus on that.
The first thing she noticed was the oaf's celebration.

Amethyst glared at him across the pitch.
The display was more than enough to reveal who was responsible for that bludger attack.
That. berk.
The absolute berk who had the audacity to celebrate after nearly knocking off her broom.

Her mouth contorted.
Colourful remarks sprang to her mind.
She controlled the urge to not speak them out loud.
