Not The Brightest
Recently, Mildred had developed a new plan where she would bring Chicken out with her once a week. The term "out" was used loosely, she brought him with her everywhere that one day she picked. Sometimes she picked a random day of the week, or sometimes days where she guessed it would be a particularly hard day. She even brought him to class, and it was during Charms where she was dozing off when she realized that she could teach Chicken! It was a brilliant idea to the eleven-year-old girl as well, perhaps Chicken could tell her answers to certain tests or even help her with homework! Plus, she knew Chicken was a smart individual- he just needed some teaching and she realized that it was up to her to teach Chicken.
At first, She thought of asking a professor to teach her stuffed animal although in the end backed out of that plan when she guessed that she would have been turned away- plus, she was smart enough to teach chicken, right?
With Chicken and a few pieces of paper, quills, and a few items she picked up in a rush in her hands, she set off towards the Library. What should she even teach Chicken? Perhaps the class she most struggled with? or maybe she should let Chicken choose for himself, she never liked it when her parents forced her to study things she found no interest in. She held onto chicken with both of her hands and looked at him, "What would you like to learn?" she asked him- a truly important question for the young Hufflepuff girl. Call it motherly instincts, she felt like Chicken wanted to learn Herbology- which is what she will teach him, perhaps some other classes on the side.
She walked inside the library and immediately walked towards one of the tables nearby the windows, she sat chicken down in one of the seats, she whispered to her faded out friend, "wait here for just a moment! I'll be back with some books."
She stood in front of some shelves wondering where would the herbology books be? She knew that towards the left were more on the Astronomy and that stuff... "Let's not think of those subjects now..." she mumbled towards herself, she wasn't exactly doing the best in those. she decided that perhaps those books would be a little bit before the left? she shrugged, walking towards that area.
It was then that she didn't exactly know where the herbology books were... she picked off any books from the shelves and decided that it would do, she could just teach Chicken herself from previous notes and her memory. She looked at the book she had picked, "All about Clowns and the Cirus" Did she walk too far right instead? She sighed and picked off a few more books and stacked them on top of each other and walked to where Chicken was, the books should be fine anyways.
She walked back to Chicken and had a great idea, perhaps she could advertise this? maybe others could help teach Chicken? She picked up one of her loose paper and wrote "STUDY SESSION" and looked back at Chicken, "Do you want to help?" She guessed Chicken had nodded and picked him up placing a quill between his two front nubs and pressed them together writing, "Feel free to join". She placed chicken down and realized that perhaps she should teach her stuffed animal friend handwriting first....
With that set, she picked up one of the books and flipped it open to a variety of images of people jumping through flaming hoops- some even riding on tricycles, some riding elephants and the outfits they wore were brightly matched with white makeup and a variety of other colors.

OOC: My writing might not match up to yours, but I hope it's okay. ;w;'The Niffler is a British beast. Fluffy, black and long-snouted...' Caitlyn closed her eyes for a second before groaning slightly. She'd spent a few hours going through this book, over and over again. What even was the time? She looked at her watch. It seemed to be broken. Caitlyn groaned again. She had forgotten that muggle technology didn't work on these grounds. With nothing else exciting to do, she looked around. Not too many people were there, just a group of Slytherins, another fellow Ravenclaw and a Hufflepuff who seemed to be– Caitlyn rubbed her eyes. She looked again and, sure enough, the Hufflepuff was talking to a stuffed llama. Now curious, she got up and went a bit closer. Caitlyn heard her mumble something to it before rushing off to the books. Even more curious now, she sprinted over to the toy. It was actually quite big, with a rainbow kind of look made from pastels. It was a bit faded here and there but the shine in its eyes really made it look sentient. She turned her head and saw the girl just about to turn back. Quickly, Caitlyn moved slightly away from the toy and pretended that she was just walking past it.
When she was past one of the shelves, she jumped behind and continued to spy on the Hufflepuff. Caitlyn knew it was rude, but she was just so intrigued that she wanted to know. I'll apologise to her later, she thought to herself. As the girl wrote onto a piece of paper, Caitlyn squinted at it. She could see 'STUDY SESSION' from a mile away, but she just barely made out the words 'Feel free to join'. She stopped spying for just a moment as she thought about the choices she could make. Really, all she could do was not join or join. And due to her curiosity with the stuffed animal...she walked out from behind the bookshelf towards the 'STUDY SESSION' poster. "Umm...hi. I'm Caitlyn," she paused for a second, trying to think of what to say next before continuing, "Do you mind if I...join you?"

Completely fascinated with the book on clowns, Mildred was completely zoned out to the outside world. She flipped each page with a newfound hunger for knowledge on the subject, almost even ashamed that she has never known about this... choice of art. Her eyes fixated on the flaming hoops of those who dared to jump through them, or even ride a bike! of course, inside the book was written that they were trained professionals and the bolded, "DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME" warning. Still, she found it completely breathtaking.
She was zoned out to the point where she almost hadn't heard the newcomer, she hesitantly looked up from her book to see a Ravenclaw, as she could tell from her robes. Someone she had never seen before, perhaps they had seen each other in classes or passing however Mildred, most definitely didn't know her which was... strange. As well, her poster did say feel free to join- she never actually expected anyone to join other than perhaps one of her friends that so happened to end up in the library while she was here, she knew that many weren't the kindest or the most understanding towards stuffed animals, hence why she thought only her friends would join her.
She sat there with her mouth slightly gaped, before closing it- blushing a faint pink as she forgot her manners for the moment it seemed. "Hello there Caitlyn!" she smiled at the girl, "Oh where are my manners!" She said as she practically jumped out of her chair, she walked around Caitlyn and pulled out a chair that sat opposite from her, "Of course you can join us!" she motioned towards the chair, "Take a seat, please!" She said as she hastily walked back to her seat.
She pointed to herself, "It's nice to meet you! Name's Mildred Wilson, First year Hufflepuff!" she gently picked up Chicken from his seat and raised him up so she could see him, "And this is my best friend, Chicken! Born in Alpaca Land and raised in my bedroom!" She harshly whispered to Chicken, "Say hello to her!" It seemed Chicken was feeling shy at the moment, which was understandable- new people also set an unreasonable fear in the small Hufflepuff girl, "Sorry..." She said as she placed Chicken back down, "He's a little shy today but don't worry! I'm sure you two could be great friends if you want to be that is."

Caitlyn stood there for a moment before the Gryffindor looked up at her, looking quite hesitant. She was silent for a little while longer as the girl seemed to think about something, possibly Caitlyn considering how her focus was drawn directly to her. Suddenly, she look quite flustered before smiling and greeting her with an informality that Caitlyn had been praying for this entire time. The girl got out another chair, gesturing for Caitlyn to sit next to her. She took it without a moment's notice, scooching up to the Gryffindor and looking more probably at the 'Study Club' that was advertised on the poster. There were a pile of books on one side of the table with a stuffed alpaca leaning onto them, while the other side of the table was occupied by a circus book, currently open on a page about flaming-hoop stunts and a large warning telling you to not try them at home.
She looked back at the girl who noticed she had Caitlyn's attention before pointing to herself and expressing that her name was Mildred. "That's a nice name, Mildred," she smiled at her, before pointing at the alpaca. "Who might this be?" Mildred pointed at the alpaca before saying, "And this is my best friend, Chicken. Born in Alpaca Land and raised in my bedroom!" The girl quite suddenly had a serious look on her face as she hissed at her friend in a quiet voice. All that Caitlyn could make out was the word 'hello'. Mildred then turned back to Caitlyn as she explained that her friend was feeling a little shy, but that it could get used to her. "I'm sure you could be great friends, if you want to be that is," she added, to which Caitlyn immediately nodded. As soon as she set eyes on the stuffed animal, she was quite intrigued with it and now that she knew that he it had a personality, even if it wasn't quite real, she was quite ready to call the alpaca her friend. "Well, anyway...what were you going to teach Chicken?" she said, wondering about the selection of books. "Also, are you sure your friend would be interested in muggle law and how it works?" she added, spying the book in the mountain of others.

sorry for the wait!!What was she going to teach Chicken? Mildred shot a quick glance towards the books on the table, her gaze lingered on her previous interest- the clown book. She couldn't exactly teach Chicken how to be a clown, right? The sudden envision of Chicken having a red nose, and even some makeup made the young Hufflepuff girl hold in her laughter, she even started picturing him juggling. "Pft", soon a cry of laughter escaped her mouth, she placed her head on the table as her whole body shook, "H-HA HA" she cried out. In the background, she heard the harsh shush from most likely the librarian.![]()
She looked back up at Caitlyn, her eyes were sparkling, perhaps due to the tears from laughing. "S-sorry about that, I just pictured Chicken as a clown- I mean, he could become one right? She looked at chicken, as he stood there slightly bent. "Do you think he could be a clown?"
Mildred could still feel a smile beginning to form as she answered, "I wanted to teach Chicken herbology!" When thinking of a subject of Chicken, she supposed herbology would have been best. It would have been perfect for someone as gentle as Chicken, although Mildred wasn't so keen on Chicken getting dirty. "but as you can see... I didn't exactly pick the right books" she motioned towards the clown books, "So! I was going to teach him from my memory, however, I think Chicken would love to learn about muggle law!" muggle law... Mildred, herself wasn't exactly the most knowledgeable on muggle law. She understood the basics, and overall however her parents never went into detail. "I'm pretty interested in muggle law too! please teach us both, Miss Boyne!" She addressed Caitlyn by her last name, almost like she was back in school and Caitlyn was her teacher.
