Where The Blue Meets The Gold

I take walks all the time. It makes me happy. It helps me burn off energy and it takes my mind off of how much I miss home. I love my daily walks. I get to explore the grounds and the castle in such an easy way.

Todays aimless walk took me to the Great Lake. It is so beautiful. The sun is shining off of it just right in this moment. I sit on the grass facing the water. There are people all around but it's almost like they aren't here. The lake is taking all of my attention away from all of the hustle and bustle of this school and the people around me.

The light blue color is merging with a gold color. If I stare at it too long it kind of hurts my eyes but it is just so pretty. There is a slight breeze that is moving the water, causing the gold color to ripple over the light blue color.

There are trees on the other side of the lake. They are tall and their full leaves are dark green. It acts as the perfect contrast to the light blue lake. I often find myself staring out at the lake and the trees during class. It's like I am constantly longing to be here, sitting on the grass near the lake, listening to the churning water and the sing-song birds.

I can smell the water too. It smells sort of like a rainy day. I love the smell of rainy days. I love rainy days in general. They make me feel comfortable and safe. And they make for a great reading day! I am always up for a good day of reading!

As I sit there and watch the sun go down, the other people scattered around the lake start to go inside for dinner so I get up and follow them very reluctantly. If I could stay by the lake and skip dinner, I would.

Prove them wrong. Twice.
