Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: (applying for all of Nadira’s abilities, sorry for the large amount of stuff to read)
Apparition - 7th year
Reducio
Over the years, Nadira had learned to drive a muggle car from her father, learned how to ride a broom, something she had truly enjoyed learning, and traveled from here to there in a variety of ways via muggle and magical means. While there were many ways to get around whether magical or mundane, there was still one way she had yet to be able to do. Being able to apparate at her mind’s will. Being able to go from one place to another place by just focusing her mind would allow her to do so much more with her time and waste less time on the hassle of travel since this would only require her mind. It would also prove useful to be able to travel between Uagadou and home to visit her family whenever she needed to or wanted to. Being able to see her mother and father, her friends, or go wherever she needed to and then still be able to return to her position at the school was something she had set as a goal for herself, and she was determined to achieve it.
The classes themself were very informative, Nadira had no opposition to being in an extra class and in general loved learning. She was careful and diligent with paying attention and taking notes throughout the weeks of classes. At some point she became restless for the end of the classes to finally be able to put what she had been learning into action.
By the time the last class came and time for the final exams had finally arrived, Nadira was hopeful that she would pass. She had prepared very well and worked hard for this moment and she wasn’t going to leave the class a failure. When her turn came to show the official, Nadira stepped up, shoulders back, full of confidence. She was nervous to perform the ability as it was something that if done wrong could have horrible consequences. Nadira closed her eyes to put all her focus into visualizing and successfully apparated to the next room over. Upon her successful apparition, Nadira couldn’t help but be beaming, smiling from ear to ear. This success in the last class’s exam was followed by her obtaining the license from the officials. Once she had the license she celebrated by showing off the new ability to her family by apparating to her family’s home to give them the good news, enjoying a lovely home cooked meal made by her mother before sadly having to apparate back to her dorm back at Uagadou. Nadira enjoyed being able to apparate to different places, often using the new ability to visit the village easier or visit her family as it became an easier method of transportation for herself.

- Please provide more detail on how she used her newly acquired skills to successfully apparate.

Charmer - 1st year
Reducio
From the time she was young, Nadira had this effortless charm about her. She was like a bright ray of sunshine to her family and friends, even acquaintances whom she just met. Everyone was charmed by her grace, her poise and most of all her intelligence. Her parents always liked to say how uniquely special she was with how she was able to meet someone and almost instantly have conversation like they were a friend and were able to make them feel comfortable. She especially loved using her charm as a young child on her family. While she was an only child, she loved visiting her other relatives who would usually fawn over the girl and this usually also meant lots of treats and presents. Before Uagadou she had a group of friends near her home. The group of friends was brought together by Nadira, one after another being added along the way as she introduced them all to each other. There were little fights between some of them on occasion but using her charm she was always able to settle things so there was no tension.
During her school years at Uagadou, she was a radiant beauty and intelligent student. There were people in all different years who knew her, even if they hadn’t talked before, her reputation always seemed to precede her. She never thought of it as a bad thing, in fact, she more so used this fact to her advantage. More than a few times she was able to get away with some specific cases of mischief or sneaking out and was able to remain in the staff’s good graces by charming her way out of getting into trouble.
Multiple times she was able to charm her way out of getting in trouble when she would be out of her dorm room past curfew or when she would work her 'magic' on her professor so they would give her extra attention and tutor her on more subjects than those covered in class. She also was able to charm her peers, usually able to 'wow' and amaze them easily and effortlessly. During her first year even, she was able to charm her fellow students and was left as a favorite underclassman to the upper years at the school. Her personality was just so easy to get along with you couldn't help but love her and be infatuated by her smile and grace. This led her to being a favorite by many for invitations to parties and gatherings of all sorts where at she always dazzled her friends and people who didn't know her.
STATUS: Pending, Santiago, 11/06/2026.
- At present, the application focuses primarily on Nadira being well-liked and socially successful, but it's not clear how she earned that reputation. Please include at least one specific interaction that show how she used charm to influence the outcome.
i did state that she used her charm to get out of trouble

Nonverbal Magic - 5th year
Reducio
From the moment Nadira stepped into the amazing Uagadou School of Magic, she was entranced by all the magic there was to learn. Her grades over the years were always amongst the top students in her year, even amongst those in the potions speciality that she chose to specialize in. She didn’t mind putting in hard work to learn the proper incantations and even didn’t mind learning the more European style of using a wand with the correct movements. While not everything was easy going the first time around, over time she became a natural at the spells she had learned, practicing them over and over and putting them to use in duels or classes.
While studying she learned about skilled wizards who were able to use nonverbal magic and was always in awe as they usually could just do a simple gesture and their magic did the rest without even speaking the incantations.
Through her mother, she became rather close with a retired professor whom she had been studying under in an apprenticeship for her potions skills. While working with him she nearly begged for him to train her in the ways he was able to use his magic without speaking. Thus her training of using nonverbal magic began. She was forced to practice often and work hard towards getting the skills needed to master it. By the time her internship with the professor was ending she was able to skillfully use nonverbal magic in her daily practices. Being able to flick her wrist and have her spells work without saying anything was something of a dream for her. She truly felt like this new skill set took her magic to the next level and has since then been a helpful tool in her magical practices. The first spell she was able to successfully perform without having to speak was the unlocking charm as she spent time focusing on unlocking a lock until she could do it without speaking.
During school she was always testing out her nonverbal skills when she learned a new spell. It became a game with herself to see how long she would need to practice a spell before she could cast it without the need to speak the incantation, a game she became quite adept at over time. She also rather enjoyed a little bit of showing off the skill to her friends who did not know how to do it. They would always leave amazed by her control and skills as she would simply cast a spell so effortlessly compared to reciting the sometimes long incantations.
STATUS: Pending, Santiago, 11/06/2026.
- Please elaborate on the practise. Which was the first spell that she successfully managed non-verbal?

Wandless Magic - 6th year
Reducio
After her first instance of magic happened, Nadira was beyond excited to learn how to actually use the powers she had been gifted. When she arrived to Uagadou she began learning so many amazing spells, potions and everything in between. She had heard from her mother how, like the accidental magic she had performed as a child, many students from Uagadou were skilled in Wandless Magic. That thought had been in the back of her head since then and wanted to be one of those students who could excel to the point of only needing to give a simple wave of her hand and let the magic naturally flow from her fingertips. She was less excited about learning how to use a wand, although she did enjoy the somewhat dramatic nature of waving it. She would see many older students in her early years using wandless magic and it looked so effortless, she was determined to be one of them soon.
As her school years went on she started to understand the more simpler spells a lot easier and continued to work on her studies and continuously excelling. With her becoming more confident in her powers and skills, and getting more comfortable with the wand magic, she finally felt like she was ready to start learning how to harness her powers in a way that wouldn’t require that pesky wand. With a little charm and persuasion, Nadira was able to get one of her favorite professors to teach her tips and tricks to be able to get to the point where she would no longer need to use a wand and just her own hands.
Her first few lessons were not as smooth as she had hoped, ending more then once with her going back to her room frustrated at it not working. However over the time they worked together on it, she was able to finally get a handle on some basic spells without the wand. With a snap of her fingers or a wave of her hand she was able to open locked chests or levitate a book off the desk. This was very promising for her as she began to get more of a comfortability with it. Soon the magic effortlessly flowed out of her, something that felt so natural. Truly she felt this was the way magic was meant to be. Something that you could feel within you and rush through you, more personal than just waving the little piece of wood.

Perfectionist - 2nd year
Reducio
After growing up in a modest household, the only child to her mother and father, Nadira knew early on that she wanted to be the best possible. This mindset started with little things like wanting to achieve perfect scores on her tests in her early education and continued on in her education at Uagadou. She always had this immense desire inside, this need to strive for better and perfection. Even if she was among the top of her year it wasn't enough and she had to push to be even better, the need to be perfect.
Of course, this perfectionist trait was not just in her studies. When she played sports or did any sort of competitive activity she had to be the best with that too. Always aiming for perfection, always aiming for number one. People often wondered why she would push herself so hard, why not take breaks or go easy on herself every once in a while? Well, for Nadira, she had bigger aspirations than those of her parents who were content in their more simple lifestyle at home. She wanted to be able to do everything and anything her heart desired. And with those kind of aspirations and dreams for her future she knew early on that she needed to do whatever she could to reach them. Being a perfectionist does turn some people off to her, although not often as she usually wins people over with her kind and caring personality anyways. But even so, those around her either are worried for how hard she pushes herself or just plain jealous for what she has accomplished and wish they were as successful.
While most of the time her perfectionist trait was positive in the way that it pushed her into greater things, the draw backs came from her tending to spread herself out too thin. While she was still so young the pressures of achieving things weighed heavy on her even though she put that pressure on herself. She spent many nights awake for longer than she should have to study or perfect a spell, anything to achieve her goals. She would never show it to anyone, so even when people would worry about her she would just brush it off and tell them she was fine. With this pressure on herself she hoped in the end it would be worth it when she was able to achieve those higher positions, the high honors, and that maybe someday people would look at her in awe and be inspired by her.

Potion Mastery - 3rd year
Reducio
In the early years of Nadira's education at Uagadou she had quickly became fond of the potions and alchemy lessons. While many found it to be hard or maybe too rigid, she loved the structure and learning the potions process from start to finish. Her potions professor at the time had been a great help in encouraging her love in it as well, often times showing her their rare ingredients or potions they were working on. She enjoyed sitting and reading her potions textbook outside of class, usually always way ahead of where they were in their lessons as she couldn't stop herself from wanting to know everything there was to learn. To say Nadira was fascinated with everything to do with potions is an understatement. In her first year of school she spent extra time after classes practicing making potions and even successfully learned and made some potions ahead of her other classmates.
Often Nadira would be found in the greenhouse or around the herbs and plants, studying the magical and mundane properties of each and keeping track of her own little garden of plants that she tended to in her own time for her own personal potion use. While she never strayed farther than what she had learned she was eager to get to that point in her potions studies where she could maybe one day create her own concoction. She loved to check out the village's shop that sold rare potions and ingredients. Usually she would save money just to be able to obtain an herb or plant that was rare or that she found curious.
When it would come time to decide on if she wanted to apply for one of the school's specialties or not, it seemed to be the easiest choice ever that she would choose to continue her work in Potions and Alchemy through the school specialization program. She often was seen as someone who could easily go on to do great things in the potions world if she wanted due to her fondness and clear skills. She was never one to do poorly on her potions and alchemy assignments and was highly regarded amongst her peers as the person to go to for advice or tutoring on the subject, especially among the first years she was a popular tutor with all her knowledge of potions. She loved being able to help other students with their potions questions and used it as an excuse to talk about her special interests in the rare ingredients and potions, although many weren't as fascinated with it as her. Sitting down to watch a younger year successfully brew a potion after she had tutored them meant the world to her and she only hoped she could continue on with her love of potions in the future.

When Gloria was 5 she desperately wanted a pet cat. So the next day the Shells went to the Magical Menagerie to get a Begal Cat, but on the way out of the store a problem came out of nowhere- literally. A buff dude Apparated right in front of us with a "tough dad" face on. "Hey, my daughter wants that cat more than you do. Give the cat here now." says the dad. He still has the tough face on and my very timid dad cowers down a bit, but my mom goes up to him and says "We got this cat first and you have no right to Oak now that we have payed." Says my mom with a slight smirk on her face. " If that's how you want it, it makes no difference to me whether I beat you up for that cat or not." Says the dad cracking his knuckles. My dad hunkers down even more, but my mom goes right up to him, sticks her finger at his chin and says "You better chill out or I'll call security!" "No, I will not." The dad says as he reaches for Oak. As I am holding Oak I back away abit and he misses his attempt to grab Oak. " Give me the cat now!" He roared, and a lot of heads turned to look but no one came to help deescalate the situation. His face turned a shade of deep red as he misses another attempt at grabbing the cat. He roars I fury and back me into a corner. " Give me the cat now and I won't hurt you." He says with the look on his eyes that says that he totally will. After a split second of hesitation I get an idea: I will stall him until I think of something else. So I start blabing random stuff. " You must really spoil your daughter if you willing to go this far just to get her a cat when there are plenty others still in the store. Like, actually, what did she say to you? 'Daddy go get me a cat that someone else just bought and scare them until it's mine!'" I stutter as I run out of things to say and he starts advancing on me. I panick and say the one thing that comes to mind. "Oak! Save me!" As I hunker down I feel Oak gracefully leap from my arms. A few seconds later I hear a tearing sound and peak out from under my arms. What I see amazes me: Oak has went and started scratching and biting the guy. I stand up, grab Oak and make a run for it, alerting athourities that he is injured. At home I don't think twice about how Oak followed my command, done perfectly.

Mary, along with other first years, made her way to the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch, in the middle of which, stood the flying professor, who’d appeared to be waiting for the students, to begin their first lesson of the year. Admittedly, Mary had tried flying before, her family owned a few child-sized old brooms, that collected dust in the lumber room for years on end, but when the waves got too big, and the wind was quick, the kids would take them out to play quidditch, or simply race above the beach – those were some of the best memories from Mary’s childhood. She loved playing Quidditch with her father, and he was probably the only person that actually matched her skill of Quidditch in the household. He’d always praised her, saying one day she’d become a broom prodigy, and she believed him. None of her younger siblings were as fast and agile on a broom as her, and her father, who’d already been quite old, had a hard time keeping up, but being athletic, and once great in his time, he could keep her on her toes for some time.
Making her way to the field now, she felt confident in herself, and her heart lacked any anxiety, as to approach the broom, pick it up, and fly on it. It all felt familiar, and she was strolling with a relaxed stride, chatting to other students excitedly.
After the group of students reached the standing professor, the lesson began, the eleven-year-olds were told how to act around a broom, and introduced to all the boring basics, that Mary didn’t bother listening to. The only thing on her mind was hopping onto a broom and darting up into the sky at full speed – she was so excited to start. Finally, they were ordered to pick up the broom, by shouting the word “up!”. Her broom was one of the first to shoot up, if not the first out of the whole group. It felt like a natural instinct, to catch the broom so quickly in her fist, and look at the sky with eagerness, as she wished the others would just hurry up.
Finally, once everyone was holding their individual broom in their hands, the students were allowed to gradually rise up into the sky, and fly around carefully, just above the Quidditch pitch. Mary flew up effortlessly, and the flying felt like a part of her, as if she was a bird. The Hogwarts grounds looked beautiful and grand from above, until the voice of the professor shouted out for her to lower down, as she was getting too high.
In the following flying lessons that year, Mary was relentless. She got better, flew higher and faster, and the broom became part of her. Over time, it seemed more and more that the sky was a place for her.

Stelle’s most prominent trait is her curiosity, a characteristic that elicits starkly different reactions from those around her: sometimes it makes her parents laugh, while at other times it leaves both her parents and grandmother feeling utterly exhausted. Her grandfather once said that little fairies were hiding in her grandmother’s garden. She could not be certain whether her grandfather truly believed that fairies existed, or if he only wanted to spark her imagination, but she was fully convinced that he would never lie to her. As a result, she spent numerous afternoons searching for traces of the fairies, barefoot, among the rose bushes and under every stone she could move.Stelle never found the fairies that feature in fairy tales, but she has successively recovered lost buttons, forgotten toys and bird nests, and even tracked down her mother’s wedding ring that had been missing for months. Her family always teases that anyone who loses something can always count on her to find it; she only devotes all her energy to searching after everyone else has given up their hunt for the lost item.It is generally believed that the sole purpose of a search is to locate the item one needs. However, this doesn't only apply to objects. Some of the most important things she found were people. The search for a lost family clock eventually led her to reconnect with a childhood friend she hadn't seen in years, and that was as valuable as any object she had ever found.

Stelle always loves spending long hours in libraries, visiting old buildings, or throwing herself into all kinds of unfamiliar places that few people ever enter, simply because she is obsessed with the joy of capturing unusual details: misplaced books, strange noises coming from behind walls, askew objects, and faint light in corners always catch her attention immediately. But also, more than once her curiosity has led her into situations she probably should have avoided. Yet it has also allowed her to discover hidden places, unexpected friendships, and stories others might have missed entirely. Stelle never regarded her ability to notice her surroundings as a natural talent, but only viewed it as an inherent way to experience the world. She believed that anyone willing to spend time observing can always spot the small details that most people miss because they rush through life. She very rarely fell into that same state of impatience, because she believes that the importance of living in the present is above all else.

Y4 Ability: Blindvision (419)
Reducio
Guinevere was nearsighted, although she would never admit it. In her younger years, she would struggle to read the blackboard in class, and desperately avoided small text as if denial would fix her sight. Never, in her life, had she even come close to the idea of wearing glasses, and not even because she feared for her appearance, but instead for the trivial matter of how no matter what new pair she tried, they never fit quite right and left uncomfortable red marks on the sides of her nose. That left her with pretending to have perfect vision (fake it 'till you make it, no, more like schizo it 'till you see it, but that doesn't rhyme), but then, she was sorted into Slytherin.
The school as a whole seemed to particularly enjoy dim lighting, but after day on day of living in the basement of Hogwarts, Guinevere felt that there was a permanent sheer over her eyes and she was seeing out of her muggle cousin's rickety toaster. She had attempted to study in the house common room many times after the library had closed, nose practically touching the parchment she was writing on. The dim, swampy lighting cast by the lake drew shadows across the paper, completely blotting out her vision of the ink, but at least now, she became very familiar with lumos. In addition, on evenings when the moon was dim, Guinevere would often feel her way back to her dorm, and when especially drowsy, would start bumping into doorframes and tripping on items left on the floor, then wake up with her shoulders decorated with black and blue. The floating torches and candles also did not do much to help, still being too dim to be of significant help.
It could have been embarrassing, how long it took for Guinevere to adapt. Slowly, although it could have been due to her growing familiarity with the old castle, she began to subconsciously know when to turn and dodge out of the way. Not only did she not need to see these obstacles when they were about to collide, but just making her way around in the dark became easier too. Outlines became clearer, no longer requiring her to guess at where the wall ended and the hallway started. This was not to say that her vision had healed itself, rather, it was only that the dark had - instead of being an impassable wall across her vision - became just another environment to navigate around.

Y5 Ability: Advanced Casting (426)

Many things could happen when one studied for hours on end. Besides the obvious: backache, headache, eye ache, everything ache, Guinevere also experienced the rarest (and most beneficial) effect of cramming for OWLs: improvement in her spellwork. It was not too much of a surprise, obviously when one puts one's mind to it, it will happen, sooner or later.
The fifth year spent long days poring over textbooks for these tests, muttering to herself and all the usual signs of a spiral towards insanity or schizophrenia. Incantations were often the last thought as she fell into sleep, and her dreams were invaded by academic content as well. She placed a vast amount of value on her coursework, could not let it slip one moment. Imagining the possibility of an Exceeds Expectations, or, Merlin forbid, an Acceptable - no! There would be no end to the regret attached to anything not a gleaming column of outstanding, outstanding, outstanding down her score report. For starters, there was not much else in her life that she could care so much about. She liked knowing things, naturally, she'd lowered herself into the rabbit hole of DADA in her third year, so why not this too?
In the meantime, here she was, alone again in the dueling club after hours, drilling spells for Charms class. Before she even took to the piste, each spell that could be possibly tested was reviewed maybe a hundred and one times, to the point where Guinevere knew the required wrist movement like how she knew to use chopsticks and could probably rap out the incantations. She would prefer not to do that, though.
She found that the theory and mechanics behind spellwork was possibly the most important aspect of all. It removed the moment of thought during casting, which was often the culprit of imprecise spells. She didn't have to fumble for the incantation or suddenly balk midway through the wand movement because it was incorrect, leading her spells to become more successful. It allowed her to refine the strength and accuracy of her spells; she cast one after the other, pummeling the dueling dummies until they fell to the floor. Less of her spells veered off target, often staying in the range of the piste and always showing better results than before her extensive revising regimen. She found that she could see significant improvements in all spells she did, from a simple lumos that stayed lit for longer or a ventus that knocked over the lifeless mannequins with ease; a bowling ball knocking over pins.

Name of Ability that you Are Applying for: Calming Presence
Describe why this fits your character (not why you the player want it):
Back when Evangeline was just a little girl, her mom always used to call her, the silence in her storms. Her mother had her fare amount of physical issues. She got ill very often, then got better, and then just got ill again, which used to put a lot of weight on her mother's mental health as well. But every time Evangeline was around, her mother felt at ease, as if her presence just brought her peace.
Children are often loud, and full of blasting energy, but Evangeline was always very calm, really present in the moment and not rushed into life. She just takes time for everything and tried her best to feel the moment itself, rather than rushing through life and maybe miss a special moment, to be memory or emotion. And only her mother felt that way, but her father too. He too realised that his daughter was very special, and brought peace to her surroundings.
Every time her father was anxious about work, or something just not going well, he would join her in her garden, and just watch her take care of her plants and herbs. The moment would immediately calm him.
Today was one of those days once again, that work wasn't going well, so he decided to join his daughter in her garden once again.
"How do you stay so calm Eva? I can see your plants aren't growing as you expect them to, even tho you take such good care of them?" He asked her. Eva got up from tending her strawberries, which were indeed not growing as many fruits as she intended to. She walked over towards her father and took a seat next to him.
"Well father beautiful things just take time, and how can I expect them to grow the way I want them too? They should live as fruitful as they themselves see fit. So I will gladly take care of them, and give them all the time they need to grow beautiful fruits" He looked at her amazed and she continued "Don't let work stress you out so much, just give it time, stay calm and take a breath, everything will get right on its on terms and time, rushing won't solve nor help anything." She said and gave her dad a big hug before continuing to water her plants. And so to her parents, and surroundings she really was known for her gentle nature and calming presence.

Danielle Kim Angeles has always been brought up in an environment where issues are not resolved by waving a simple magical wand.
Even before she discovered herself as a witch, everything she did in her ordinary life was based on her own efforts and decisions without the help of any magic. Danielle attended school, used the latest technologies, used public transportation and spent her leisure time reading and studying. There were no quick solutions; if something was broken, she repaired it on her own. If something was lost, Danielle looked for it herself.
The realization that Danielle is a witch did not suddenly make all her ordinary habits disappear.
Arriving at the school, she faced many students, who were born and raised in an environment of magic. All those students have been familiar with magical objects and magical traditions all their lives. They were very confident about the process of solving issues with the help of some spells, which were unknown for Danielle.
Thus, sometimes Danielle acted differently from others.
Not being able to instantly turn to magic allowed Danielle to acquire a habit of analyzing a problem before taking action. She has learned to be observant, analyze situations thoroughly and use any possible resources. The years spent without magic have made Danielle understand that sometimes fast thinking and pragmatic solutions prove to be no less useful than superpowers.

The same approach has helped Danielle in her Hogwarts life as well. Regardless of whether she was taking classes, playing Quidditch or just communicating, Danielle always used to rely on her ability to observe and be prepared. Her previous experiences also made her very adaptable. Transitioning to an absolutely new lifestyle meant for her to learn patience and perseverance. Danielle has had to study a lot of new customs, subjects and ways of life while at the same time preserving her personal character traits.

Danielle is now a practical girl who knows how to analyze and use what she has got. Despite the fact that she has already got accustomed to the magical world, she has never lost the qualities she has gained in the non-magical one. Such characteristics will always play an essential role in helping her make decisions that will help her face all sorts of challenges confidently and determinedly. Instead of completely relying on magic, she appreciates the importance of wisdom and perseverance. Indeed, her strength lies in combining both worlds.

All those years I put in for the American Dream
Is it worth all the work if you can't be here with me?
'Cause I fly Stockholm to LA, leave my feelings on the plane
Worries fade away when I hit the stag.

I was aiming to reference how she did live in the Muggle world, blending in, so to speak. Though her mother does occasionally use and teach of magic, her life prior to Hogwarts was still mostly non-magical in nature…
Ellaine has always found it difficult to be what others are— what they call imaginative, creative, or innovative. An excellent value to have, certainly; but what does it matter, when she has no interest in all of that?

Perhaps it is simply her fear of being wrong, something she knows to be a critical flaw of hers. In the end, she clutches tight the truth— that certainty brings predictability, and that predictability will in time bring her successes; perfections, victories, and whatnot.

Her arrival at Hogwarts is disorienting, in that she finds it oddly easy to adjust to a life full of magic, when every little thing was wholly magical in nature. Her mother had told her stories in the past, yes, as did her grandmother, but it did not prepare her for this. This is a fresh slate for her; a blank, new start. The possibility excites her, and she wishes to achieve— if not greatness, then at least adequacy.

It is only natural, then, that she drowns herself in knowledge. This is a nice world to live in, she would think to herself. With a nice room for her own, the sheer unreality of actually living with magic every single day astounds her. A nice fantasy, in other words, and she is determined not to ruin it.

She does not want to be wrong, and wants certain success. With this, she becomes even more fond of “statistics.” The hard, factual truths. Truths cannot lie, and therefore she can never disappoint anyone. She buries herself in books, quietly practising the spells, ensconced inside the safety of her private dormitory. She says the incantation, drills into her memory the wand movements, and prides herself on her hard-earned Outstandings (and her Exceeds Expectations, and Acceptables, but she doesn’t talk about those). She is not perfect, no. To call herself a perfectionist would be a lie, at least in her humble opinion. She knows what she is capable of. She does not dare to try to break through the roof, striving for— perfection— when she is content with where she stands.

Her mother smiles when she excitedly tells her her grades, during owl-sent letters or breaks; her father’s warm approval, though rarely verbally acknowledged; and the pride she holds when she has something to show to her brothers— never mind the fact that each and every one of them already believes the best of her.

She learns and practices and reads and plays, and she enjoys her way. It is a pity that she doesn’t have the same creativity that others do, but surely her own wisdom is worth the price?

In your application you highlight that Ellaine needs to adjust to magic, when in reality she would've lived with magic since birth, being a half blood. If my assumption is not the case, please explain this in your application, and if I am correct and your character's magical parent does live in her same household, this too will need to be reflected in the application.

- WC: 439 -

Since I was young I was drawn to secrets. When your mother travels the world looking for impossible creatures and your father is an Unspeakable it makes you know that there are things out there -- wonderful, magical things, that are hidden in the world and only the best, brightest and bravest people can find them.

In rebuttal to those who suggest I must be lacking in wisdom or wit to do such a thing -- after all, signs that say DANGER! usually do have danger behind them, I say this: is it not better to know the nature of the danger that sits among you, lest it one day be let loose?

I know my skills, my abilities -- what I do not know, and what I'm keen to discover, are the secret power structures and systems that guide our everyday lives without us knowing.

Surely it is more dangerous to be uncurious, to ignore and choose to be ignorant, and be always surprised? I test my mettle, I seek out those strange and brilliant things that by their own existence reshape the size and meaning of the world. It is my constant curiosity that shields me.

I am one to watch others, I know who is likely to bully or turn to 'unexpected cruelty' by the way they treat others with less power. I know which professors are more likely to wave off a late homework, and which are steadfast in rules and will send me to detention, and so I never get on the wrong side of those that are particularly Draconian.

I know how to see things that people keep hidden, the rough second-hand clothes of a friend who's parents can't afford money, and know never to force him to play expensive games. I know when a muggle-born classmate is feeling overwhelmed with the amount of magical knowledge they have to learn, feeling lonely in this big strange world, and I know to go over and loudly share some anecdotes about muggle life so as to make the wizard-born students awed and lost instead.

I have a keen eye. I look for secrets to know my way in the world, to keep myself safe and others too. And most importantly, I'm going to know all the secret doors where I can hide, or something could appear. Passageways and secret doors are my specialty. Knowing how Hogwarts is going to have a bunch of them, I'm going to be spending most of my time looking for them. I'm going to need a time-turner to get them all, and my classes AND Quidditch. Oh wait -- Dad said not to tell anyone about those...

Childhood:
Rosselia is simply adorable. It's difficult to describe her. Her sweet face inspires gentleness and kindness... but also a strong character, sometimes very stubborn and ready to fight for important things. She is very pretty with her lovely little pink cheeks, lips of the same pink, and dark but soft brown hair... But her most beautiful feature is her eyes. Her large, still childlike eyes shine like a thousand stars with their bright blue.
She often hides her bright face behind a small, elegant hat so as not to attract much attention. How could she leave the house without an elegant hat?
Her cute little feet... she doesn't hide them at all. She shows them off in elegant girl's shoes. That's not all, she loves wearing brightly colored clothes. So she's not really suited to neutral clothing, but if you give her a neutral-colored dress, she can perfectly wear clothes of the same style, 'neutral' (gray doesn't go with bright red). |
(Future) Character Development:
She is growing into a more mature girl, from this active, innocent, joyful, childlike, and stubborn little girl to a girl who learns, memorizes, listens, and can be more patient, gentler, polite. Since her education comes from a residential tutor, she has learned many good manners. You can see the development in her face, her eyes are darker in color, but now one of those sweet looks alone can make a boy fall in love. Her eyes are just distracting; you manage with great difficulty to escape one of her eyes. Her tender eyes are also smaller but still shining. She has cheeks and lips of a softer pink. She still wears hats, but more elegant and large ones. She wears clothes in softer colors like green and blue, which look wonderful with her eyes. She also tries out many more hairstyles; as a little girl, she wore one or two buns rather than a ponytail or nothing at all. She now often wears braids, buns, etc.
.It's true that there are changes, but she still resembles the girl she was . Ross is now more than just 'cute'.She is still pretty, just not in the same way as before. She finds her beauty in who she truly is, a girl with a gentle nature, but she has never used it against others. When somone tel her she is pretty she say thanks say she have from her nature but … only make me somethings that not pretty is becausse i then do not schow my real nature ,so not my real beauty
