The Departure
My parents, my younger sister Eileen, and I just entered King's Cross Station. I was so excited but I hid my feelings. I had my big suitcase, full of books and clothes for this year to come. I saw a family of 4 children with owls, cats and even a rat. I could tell they were wizards too. We went towards Platform 9. Indeed, Platform 9 3/4 was right between Platform 9 and 10. We got there and my mother said:
'There you are. Now you have to run towards that wall. If you scared you can close your eyes or I can hold your hand. You tell me.'
I breathed in and out very slowly:
'I am going to do it by myself'
My mother looked at my father and they were both glad. From now on, I have to do things by myself because they won't be there, at Hogwarts, to help me, to make me feel better.
I held my suitcase strongly and I ran towards that wall. I walked through it and I was on Platform 9 3/4 as the sign said. There were a red train and lot of people talking and running all around. My parents and my sister also walked through the wall and were on the Platform.
'The train leave in 15 minutes', my father said. 'We're going to find a place and put your suitcase in. All right?'
I nodded and we started looking for a place. We found one, right beside a window, in the direction of travel, which was amazing. I put my suitcase in there and we got off the train.
My both parents hugged me:
'Enjoy everything there, you'll see, it's amazing', my mother said.
'And have good grades!', my father added.
I nodded and I talked to Eileen:
'Don't worry, it'll be your turn soon enough'
I know she wanted to come and discover the castle and magic but she wasn't old enough yet.
I got on the train and sat.
