Though Diana herself wasn't a part of the LGBTQIAP+ community, she was an ally. She believed that no matter who someone identifies as, everyone is unique and no one should be discriminated against. So, when the young Seer saw one of the many brightly colored posters advertising the boat-making workshop that'd take place on Saturday at 3 pm, she knew she had to go.

Diana arrived at the Boathouse alone. She could’ve asked someone to join her. Perhaps if she had asked her roommate, Olivia Evans, she might’ve come. Perhaps Natasha Blackwood would have agreed as well, or maybe one of the students she’d met through her only club, the Hogwarts Volunteer Club. But, Diana hadn’t approached any of them. Decorating a canoe by herself seemed easier somehow, and she didn’t mind the idea of spending the afternoon quietly working on her float.

At the Boathouse, her gaze drifted over the row of small canoes lined up along the dock. They only sat four people and reminded her of the boats she and other first-years used to cross the Black Lake at the beginning of the school year. Standing there now, the young Seer found it strange to think that only nine months had passed since she’d first arrived at Hogwarts. Looking at the canoes, she realized they looked a lot smaller than she remembered.

After looking over the rows of boats and having memories of September, she eventually selected a canoe that sat slightly apart from the others. The canoe wasn’t really different from the rest, she just liked having a little space to herself while she worked. She then looked over at the supplies after setting her canoe down. There was a lot she could choose from. After several minutes passed by with her just looking at the materials, Diana selected silver paint, silver glitter, and a handful of rainbow streamers. She wanted her canoe to represent pride but also represent herself as well. She definitely wasn’t interested in creating the loudest float in the parade. Her goal was to make something that felt meaningful.

Eventually, Diana decided on a night-sky design, where she’d decorate the canoe with stars and constellations connected by silver lines, while the rainbow streamers would trail behind like colorful comets. However, before she had began decorating, Diana looked at the brown color of the canoe and knew that it wouldn’t fit her design idea. Diana then glanced at the seventh year Ravenclaw whom Diana has seen a few times around the house, but she hadn’t really interacted with her much.

“Could you make this one dark blue, please?” Diana asked quietly as she brought her canoe over to the older girl. Once Aly changed the canoe’s color, Diana thanked her and found herself staring at it for a moment before carrying it to where she’d placed her supplies. The rich midnight-blue shade reminded her of the sky on clear summer nights, when the stars seemed to stretch endlessly overhead.

After her canoe had been color-changed, Diana sat down beside it and dipped her brush into the silver paint that she’d chosen earlier. She then began to carefully add stars along the sides of the boat. Diana worked slowly, taking her time with each one, as she didn’t want to ruin her canoe. Some stars were large and bright while others were little more than tiny dots scattered between them. Once enough stars had been painted along the sides of the boats, she used a thinner brush to connect some of them with delicate silver lines, which allowed her to create constellations across the canoe’s midnight-blue surface.

Though she wasn’t copying any real constellation, the young Ravenclaw found herself arranging them in patterns that simply felt right. Every so often, she’d pause and lean back slightly, as she studied her work, before deciding where the next star should go. The sounds of conversation between groups and possible laughter drifted through the Boathouse around her, but she didn’t mind. She was used to working in noise, it tended to happen in Hogwarts Volunteer Club meetings. In fact, the noise of the Boathouse was pleasant background noise while she focused on painting.

When the stars were finished, Diana picked up the silver glitter and sprinkled a light layer across them. The glitter caught the sunlight coming in from outside, which made the canoe shimmer as though it’d been dusted with starlight. Next came the rainbow streamers. Diana attached them carefully along the sides and back of the canoe. Whenever a breeze swept in from the lake, the streamers fluttered behind the boat in waves of color. As Diana watched them move, she was reminded of comets streaking across the night sky.

After working for some time, the young girl finally set her paintbrush down and stepped back to look at her canoe as a whole. It wasn’t the most colorful canoe in the Boathouse nor was it the most extravagant or largest, but she liked it. The dark blue, silver stars, and rainbow streamers felt like a good balance between celebrating Pride Month and creating something that reflected her own interests.

Allowing herself a small smile, Diana brushed a bit of glitter from her sleeve, that she’d just noticed was there, before deciding to take a short break and see what snacks the house-elves prepared. She had a feeling that all the treats would be rainbow themed to fit the theme of Pride.

*Today was the day. It was the day to take their floats out. This would be Lex's first 'parade', as their father would never take them to one or that, not exactly support half of their role in the LGBTQIA+ community and having younger siblings who didn't need to know about it all yet. They had grouped up with a fellow Gryffindor, Lily, and a Ravenclaw, Ebony, for their float. In the end, they had made a float designed with rainbow painted stripes, glitter over it with some silver saying "Love is love", silver glitter hearts on either end. With it, they had brought along a flag and a sign in the back, reading "PRIDE", matching the rainbow glitter theme with a silver glitter background. On the ends, there were also streamers of each color. Lily seemed to be following this, having come in a cute, rainbow glitter dress, her hair tied up into a bun with two strands out in the front. She was pretty, very pretty in Lex's opinion. What else the non-binary dear found cool was that people were so open to doing this, straight, pan, bi, trans, and even more on that list. With them, just for safety precautions, they had brought sunscreen and a first-aid kit, being how they are. A special perk from Lex, they had made the oars rainbow stripes as well, wanting to match the whole theme with the canoe. They had loved getting to do this, as they recently hadn't felt up to the mood to stuff like this with school work on top of it, having taken the time for reading or writing or whatsoever. It had also given them a chance to be themselves, TRULY, be themselves. Heck, Hogwarts in general gave them that perk, not having a father to tell them they were a girl just because of how their body was and couldn't identify any other way, that being non-binary was seen as wanting attention. It was funny how their friends, teachers, and others could support, but their family couldn't. They knew why, how he expected something different from them, but they didn't at the same time, as their mother was able to support both parts unlike him. Then again, she isn't exactly here most of the time, so it is a bit understandable in a way despite it all. Agh, don't go into it like that, back to the float! Lily's green eyes seemed to glow with the day, shining like emeralds and her kindness. The sun had given a glow to her hair as well, tied up or not, highlighting the rare perks of being strawberry-blonde. She could probably be a model if she wanted to, a thought of Lex's was, maybe giving a glance longer than needed. No way they could admit it, but honestly? They kinda liked Lily, like like-liked her. They really never said anything due to the year difference and not knowing if she was straight or not or had a partner and all that. Just imagine how the rejection would feel, Lex already knew from previous times about it in the past. They liked this kid, but he turned out to be a total jerk, way before they knew it was okay to like girls and the LGBTQIA+ community and further more. They say they definitely had a glow up from back then as well, processes continuing as it went on to where they are now. They used to have a bob like Dora in third, something that'd surely get poked at if they had it now, compared to the wolf-cut. Somewhere around a sixth grade area if considering years at Hogwarts into muggle school was another disaster too, as they had cut quite the spot of their bangs due to gum getting stuck in it, specifically right near the roots of it. Did Lily ever have that problem, whether from just happening accidentally or from potentially being picked on or something? If so, they wondered how she could've and potentially handled it, as well as how anyone could pick on such a sight unless they liked her as well. Friends or more, who couldn't? She was sweet, loyal, and caring, as well as brave and honest, a perfect bundle right there. You don't often find people pure like that, people that are gold, so it was almost like a cool, awe-bringing discovery for them to find. A fifth year, a fourth year, and a second year, not a sight you see everyday for pairing up, and yet soon to move up a year. So much knowledge that could be behind the amazing minds, yet so much that could still be out there to learn, especially after it all. Lex was getting over their head now, they weren't even close to their seventh year yet, they were only going up to their third year, yet it was still there, as well as the worries pouring back in. Would their dad finally support their identity? Would their further family? How would life be after that? Lily had been there to snap them out of it from there though, probably having seen their internal struggles despite how much they tried to keep it out of sight. A hand on their shoulder, asking if they were okay. Remembering why they were here, they had let it go, giving a smile and reassuring response. For being related to Colin, she seemed a lot calmer, not that being chaotic is a bad thing though, taking that's kinda how Lex is themselves. Letting Lily go from their whole spiral, they had turned to Ebony, seeing what she had to say about this. Really, it may have been a way to hide their blushing from Lily as well, as there was no doubt it was there. Lex knew themselves, especially after the whole contact moment of her hand on their shoulder, that there was a blush. There wasn't any pulling a move like 'I forgot sunscreen' because they were literally the one who brought some, not wanting anyone to get sunburn. They had gotten it multiple times, and it was growing to hurt around now, as well as weirdly peeling when starting to heal. Giving a sigh, a hand had dropped to their legs, which had reminded them of the pack showing freely due to the fact they had a black crop-top on with a rainbow paint drip design and a black mesh crop over it. This had also brought them to feel a little nervous too, just having them out, even if they liked them after all the hard work behind them. No going back now though. They're there, and no way they could give them or their typical workout routine to maintain them up. With blushing, they had felt it getting hot, using a hair tie and tying some parts of their hair in the back, the style leaning to a wolf tail ponytail, as it still matched their hairstyle vibe and that. Hopefully Lily didn't see the glances and that, hopefully Ebony either, but it'd probably come out if she did see, so just to see if she'd say anything now....*

Lily was excited for the pride event today. It had been quite the week and she was excited to get away. Ebony, Lex, and her had created in her opinion the best float ever the way they had all designed it. Lily had even dressed the part; wearing a rainbow colored dress. Her hair was up cause it was a hot day and she didn't feel like dealing with sweat soaked hair the entire day. She arrived in a timely fashion and flashed a smile at Lex, her gaze drawn to their veryyy nice abs, before she abruptly pulled her eyes away with a slight blush. "Hiya, Lex! You look great today. And love the hair- it totally rocks the entire look you've got going on."She compliments them and did her very best at hiding the flush and the heat she suddenly felt in her cheeks. Good Lord this was going to be a interesting day. She borrowed some of their sunscreen and put it on her exposed skin, just so she didn't get a massive sunburn. As they waited for Ebony, Lily made sure their float was completely perfect and even added a rainbow streamer to the mix... just because streamers make everything better, right? Right. Her eyes kept sliding over to Lex and she noticed that they were having some struggles, so she placed a hand on their shoulder and asked if they were okay. A nod and that was fine. If she noticed it again later she'd pry a little further. She waited in the boat as her and Lex tried to make small talk. Lily was terrible at small talk and add in the fact that she had to keep her eyes upward wasn't exactly helping. She was relieved when Ebony finally arrived, though she definitely didn't show it.

" I guess all those riddles they make you guys do isn't all for nothing huh?" he teases with a slow clap with his hands. Well- whatever part of his hand that wasn't holding a muffin or a notebook at this time anyway.

" And find out I shall" he says playfully, though there was the tiniest lace of seriousness as if it was something he had already made up his mind to do. Though he choose not to elaborate, half betting that Eun-ji wouldn't want him to explain further. If he were in her shoes, thats what he would do at least. But unfortunate for Eun-ji, Hanako had already started betraying their no-strings-attached relationship. Now just to think about how to bring it up… that was the issue now.

" That's me, Hanako the Gentlemen." He joked with a teasing tone, knowing there was no one sane that would actually call him that. But he liked this banter Eun-ji could feel comfortable enough in bringing out around him. That was the fun with being with her. He hoped it would last, and he was no longer afraid to admit himself that at least.

" Ahahah- righhhtt, you had enough of that huh? But hey, you could trust me to keep you dry still~. I've been practicing my ventus, you won't have to worry about ruining your hard work" he grinned. At the praise and the sight of her rare smile, Hanako instinctively smiled in return, handing her the notebook easily.

At the mention of dessert, Hanako shrugged and took a small bite of the muffin. Easier to do when she became captain of the notebook. " Thats a shame, I would've bought an extra celery stick on the way here if I knew". He steps closer to her, trying to get close enough so they can see the notebook as well if she choose to draw on it. " Oh well, that's just a must isn't it?" He says with a smirk in response to the flowers. " I'm thinking…. maybe the rims of the boat could have it, with less in the middle lining so theres more focus on the sharper edges of the boat. Plus more room for us to hold on to when we get on it. Kinda want to build some sort of canopy over half the boat. Seems easy enough hm? Would make easy use of the fabrics they got there? Honestly confession, I didn't read the errand properly. I thought we were building boats from scratch."

Ophelia had just realized what a nice group she'd chosen, since she knew two of these people, or, at least, had interacted with them. She'd met Dahlia in the common room, a nice and smart girl, but she was quite a good manipulator; she'd give her that. Jay, she'd met in May in the library because of an... ehem, argument a group of people had, but she was a nice kid, too. But she hadn't interacted with Denisse that much yet; I mean, she had seen the girl around, but they never really hung around.

"I believe so, too!" She replied to Dahlia. Then, hearing that Jay had dyed her hair herself, she looked at her, mouth agape, "really? That's so cool!" When Jay tapped the boat, Ophelia first looked at Dahlia and Denisse to see if they had any ideas, and the latter actually did.

Starting with the base was smart; Ophelia had watched videos at home where artists painted the base with white paint, for example, and then painted on top of that coat, and it actually looked better than if they had instantly started painting over the canvas without the white paint. "I think a base color first is the smart choice," she said, "I've seen videos at home of others painting, and most of the time, if not always, the paintings with base colors looked better than the ones where they directly painted over the canvas," she then patted the wooden boat, "though, I'm not quite sure. I reckon the texture of a canvas isn't the same as wood's texture."

Eun-ji paused. She truly didn’t expect Hana to reply in kind. If anything, she thought he wouldn’t spare that little comment of hers much thought. And yet, despite the mischievous atmosphere and his crooked smile, the witch couldn’t help but feel like he too somehow expected them to find a way into each other’s lives, when all of this was over. The idea both made her heart flutter and unsettled her.

The Ravenclaw always perceived Hana as someone aloof, easily drifting through life and surrounding himself with people without lingering too long. He charmed strangers effortlessly so she doubted he’d ever have a shortage of friends wherever he went. Then there was his persistent fellow Slytherin. Eun-ji somehow doubted he would ever truly be rid of that one. So why would Hana have any need to keep her around? Was she reading too much into this? Possibly. Her mind had a way of taking the smallest things and turning them into something far heavier than they were ever meant to be. Although she felt like the rogue had started changing a little recently, from what she understood, he was a lot like her. Always careful not to get too attached as proven by their own current arrangement. Eun-ji had come to like him so it was only natural she’d start to yearn for his company but what about him? Nothing good would come out of them staying close after graduation. Not with the Hunts always lurking around.

Better not to dwell on it. The young witch thought to herself and instead did her best to keep up with the lighthearted banter. “And a tiny bit delusional.” She countered with a raised eyebrow. They both knew Hana was nowhere close to being a gentleman so there was no harm in teasing him a little more.

Luckily for him, Eun-ji wouldn’t get to torture the boy for much longer as she got a new mission to focus on. Sketching. “You seem to be practicing a lot of things recently. Careful, you might ruin your reputation.” She observed, pencil already moving across the paper with practiced ease. “Though...it’s a good way to ruin it…I’m also glad to hear you have my back, should I decide to go for another unplanned lake dive.” The Ravencaw didn’t raise her gaze from the notebook but the small smile on her lips was genuine. She was playing along but she also meant what she said.

“Indeed, celery stick would be much better choice but it’s okay. I already ate anyway.” After all, Eun-ji had a healthy dose of distrust when it came to food at any school event. Aly organized this one, which probably lowered the odds of any intentional disaster but there were still too many students loitering around those tables to let her guard down entirely. “Alright, flowers it is.” She slowly refocused on her task at hand. “I had a feeling we’d agree on that.” She added, clearly satisfied with his reply. Her hands followed Hana’s description with relative ease. She had also wanted to put flowers along the rim of the boat so it worked out perfectly and while she didn’t consider making a canopy, it did sound like a good idea. Especially in the current summer heat.

“Hmm...I think that should be doable.” She glanced toward the pile of decorations. “Fabrics shouldn’t be an issue but we’ll need something to build the frame for the canopy. Hopefully, Aly has something we could use.” Surely a few wooden poles or sticks wouldn’t be an impossible request?

After another moment, Eun-ji turned the notebook towards her companion so he could take a proper look of what she’d sketched so far. “Something like this? More flowers? Less? Do we want to change the boat color as well? Magic would make that easy.”Image posted by the member

1) While everything written is true for Dido, much is intentionally incorrect (eg: Dido is not in Ravenclaw)
Dido absolutely loved Pride.

Or, at the very least, she assumed she did, and assumed that sort of had to. Despite her mothers’ very clear support of any queer artists, advocates or the general LGBTQIAP+ community, they had never actually gone to any parades or events specifically designed for pride-month. (Unless you count that one partially discounted roller-skating night where Dido somehow managed to break a finger, which Dido didn’t.) She didn’t quite know, or understand, why her parents had never gone to a parade, not even just leaving her at home, but it also had never really crossed her mind until she saw the colourful poster advertising Hogwarts’ float parade.

Had Dido paid more attention to her mothers during the month of June, she might have realised that, while Andy was perfectly enthusiastic, Irene was anything but, often retreating to her study and burying herself in marking in efforts to avoid even the suggestion of heading out. Of course, the easy excuse of “my students’ need me available for last-minute exam help!” was often used, giving Irene a perfect excuse, but, had it not been Dido and Andrea (the most oblivious pair in the world) whom she was lying to, someone would have immediately noticed the differences. Though perhaps Andy did notice her wife’s tendencies. After all, Dido wouldn’t have known any different.

All this to say, Dido was incredibly excited for her very first parade, almost bouncing up and down as she painstakingly filled one of her only white shirts with rainbow flowers and polka dots. She had seriously considered trying some of the face paint, or make-up, looks that she had seen some older students sporting in the corridors but, after her first attempt left her scrubbing at her face to remove it for hours, Dido settled for only the multi-coloured top.

She arrived at the boathouse, thoroughly enthused by the sight of so many happy and smiling students, and immediately crossed over to the canoes, choosing to focus on finding a group later. To her delight, a kind seventh year, presumably one of the girls running the event, changed the wood’s colour from a rather uninspiring brownish beige to a much more satisfactory and, specifically, easier to paint on, paler hue.

As she tugged the canoe down to an empty spot, grinning at the students around her and waving at a couple she knew, she also scanned the crowd for similarly unburdened students, in need of a group. Not immediately seeing anyone, she turned back to the wooden canvas, just about content enough to begin creating the float on her own. While Dido had no real flair for creativity, she was fortunate enough that day that pride-themed drawing were fairly simple, only requiring a extensively varied use of the entire colour wheel. So, humming a simple melody under her breath, Dido started to paint small shapes all over the boat: circle, triangles, squares, even a couple of hexagons and failed pentagons began to form across one side.

I was going down to the boat docks alone. Just because today was a nice day. I wore a white top with a pink skirt. Simple, because it was actually hot today. I spotted a strange congeragtion by the boathouse and I went to investivgate. A Pride Boat Parade. It sounded exciting enough. So I made my way through the crowd, careful not to bump into anyone. I saw people decorating boats with balloons and many other rainbow colors. I brushed some hair out of my eyes and saw Dido there with her own boat. I ran over to the supply table to grab glitter, paint, ribbons in every color and balloons. Then I got two lemonades. One for me of course. But also one for Dido. I went back over to where Dido was still with her boat. ” Hi Dido!” I said handing her a lemonade. ” How are you doing? I brought you a lemonade it is quite hot isn’t it? ” I asked while twisting my hair into a claw clip. ” Can I work with you? I mean it does seem quite fun doesn't it?” I said while setting down the supplies. I sat down next to her waiting for her answer.

As much confident as he was in his words, Hanako was completely oblivious to how exactly his words were stirring in the young ravenclaw. In his mind, the goal was clear to him whether or not Eun-ji got a confirmation of it or not. He was still going with the flow, and being arrogant enough to do it without her permission. At this point in time, he was more convinced she was eventually going to hate him. But this was a rare occasion that Hanako wanted to pursue his goal anyway. He didn't press when she didn't say more on the matter, and giving a light laugh at the mention of being delusional.

" Oh psft, my reputation? Oh well - can't be any worse than it already is. Being one of the two only seniors in the dueling team doesn't necessarily inspire confidence to my juniors. I may have a hard time with spells, but I definitely can't let them forget I'm not entirely useless" he shrugged with a grin, as if even if his juniors did think lowley of him (side eyes Ara Villa) he wouldn't care. Besides- he had worse rumours in the dueling team around him. At the mention of having her back, he snapped his fingers and gave her a thumbs up.

While Eun-ji sketched, Hanako intended to finish the cupcake before he got his hands dirty. Nodding along with what she suggested, and giving her an enthusiastic thumbsup at her sketch. " Sure we could. And if we have extra energy later, lets paint it together. Only if we feel like it" he snickered, rolling up his sleeve. " Well then - lets get to it"

Code: Select all

[Further godmodding approved by Eun-ji's writer]
When they started to get to work, they had a comfortable rhythm and dynamic going on. Though they had only started being healer interns beginning of this year, they had always clocked in on time and did work. Eun-ji being the more experienced one seemed a lot more at ease with the work compared to Hanako, but she had been nothing but patient and helpful with helping him get used to it. And perhaps because of all the time spent together in a working environment, building a boat together seemed to put both at ease. There was no storming phase during the process - they knew how to work with the other already and they did considerable progress, the pair doing work on both the canopy and the flowers.

Their boat was about 45% finished already, with the frames of their canopy already attached to the boat, though still looking relatively empty as they haven't placed up the fabrics they wanted. They were both now working on the flower arrangements that (perhaps because both were perfectionists), took way longer than expected.

The scene was like this: Eun-ji already in the boat that had yet to be tested on waters, meanwhile Hanako was right near her- just outside the boat. The front and back of the boat required the most flowers therefore they spent more time there. Conversations between the two have been sparse, with added light banter here and there but mostly regarding the boat, as per usual. Seems like neither of them wanted to risk getting distracted too much. That's work ethic for you.

Though for Hanako it was slightly different, than what he figured Eun-ji's reason for being her usual focused self.

" You know …… I never considered myself a builder" He says lightheartedly as usual, still arranging the florals. " I felt like it was .. oh I don't know.. kinda too much to do. I was thinking maybe it was the case of hating it because I wasn't the best at it when I started. Thats pretty much how most people start off something new, don't they? What about you? You consider ever thought of changing hobbies from ballet to woodworking? I've seen the way you build the canopy parts~ You can't hide your carpenter skills from me" , he joked with a teasing tone.

Eun-ji shrugged at Hana’s comment about his reputation. “I wouldn’t worry about that. Most of the juniors have no respect for anybody these days. They need time to come around.” It was a tad funny that she should be the one to say that, when she held hardly any respect towards the adults around her. Then again, her reasons for that were probably much different from the kids on his team. Hers had been earned. “You should just work hard for yourself.” That was her philosophy at least. Parise always felt hollow if she herself wasn’t happy with the result. Then again, she might have been her own harshest critic. Either way, both of them were in their last year so it hardly mattered what their younger schoolmates thought of them now.

“Right, I would actually prefer to paint it by hand but it might be too time consuming.” The Ravenclaw replied to her partner’s counter proposition. Efficiency was honestly the only reason she suggested going with magic. Considering her love for arts, there was no way she’d prefer a single spell over the brush and a fresh smell of paint. “Well...let’s see how things go and decide later.” The witch concluded eventually, not seeing a reason to dismiss the idea for now.

As the two of them got to work, Eun-ji swiftly switched on her perfectionist mode. At some point, she even took off her shoes, to make sure she worked more efficiently. Luckily, Hana was someone that could keep up with her pace seamlessly. There was an occasional banter here and there but the main focus was at the task at hand. By now, she wasn’t even surprised how well they worked together, though she knew her younger self would laugh at the idea. Before she got to know him, the young witch always thought they were like fire and ice, sparks and frost. Entertaining perhaps, but fundamentally incompatible. As it turned out, even she could be wrong sometimes. Spectacularly so.

“You know …… I never considered myself a builder” The witch glanced up. She found herself listening to his speech, wondering whether there was some deeper meaning behind it. But then, Hana jokingly mentioned her carpenter skills and Eun-ji’s thoughts instantly became a jumbled mess. It was an innocent playful remark. The poor boy couldn’t have known the storm it would unleash inside her jagged heart. Her slender fingers paused for just a second before swiftly resuming their work.

“Ah…funny you should say that. My grandpa used to do woodwork as a hobby and he did let me help sometimes. I was indeed struggling back then since I was quite young but it was still fun to learn bits and pieces. So I guess the failure was actually part of the fun?” The memory arrived uninvited. A small wooden Morgana sitting on her bedside table, craved by gentle hands that no longer remembered her. The figurine remained. Everything else was forever lost to her. Morgana had disappeared years ago, like a riddle that couldn’t be solved. Her grandpa was still there but it somehow made things worse. He was alive, only she ceased to exist in his world. The man, who once carried her on his shoulders and called himself her biggest fan, was gone. Now all was left was a stranger that inexplicably trembled with rage, whenever he heard her name. Sometimes, Eun-ji still dreamed about that hospital visit. About the wrinkled fingers tightening around her throat and the confused hatred flashing across those familiar eyes… All because of Mr. Hunt. She was just a child yet he had stolen so many things from her…for the stupidest of reasons too.

“Coincidentally however,” The witch continued, smiling as though her heart wasn’t cracking all over again. “He was always the one that kept telling me I would grow up to become a prima ballerina so I doubt he would approve of me trading the ballet for carpentry.” And thank God for her ability to mask her emotions like it was a child’s play. After all, none of this was Hana’s fault. She didn’t want to ruin the mood and didn’t want to linger on past memories either. Eun-ji had crawled out of those dark times with all the strength she could muster, falling back in now was simply unacceptable. “Why the question? Are you considering becoming a carpenter?” She teased, though it came out softer than intended.
