Sunshine Season
Lindsey wandered in the corridors on the second floor, alone. Being a Hufflepuff, she seldom passed here, because there’s no classrooms being used as specific ones at the present.
She didn’t know why she had came here, what she did know was that she lost 2 points in a small test yesterday. The test was easy, and everyone——nearly everyone, got full mark.
The History of Magic test was held to make sure everybody learned well from the beginning of this term, so it just had some basic things the first-years had learned. Lindsey got wrong on a date——the easiest one in the test, as the professor had said.
She didn’t know what she was thinking at that time. Her family, the Springhalls, all got great marks in their school years. As a result, she was taught to study hard——this was a good thing, but it could make people feel stressed.
Lindsey remembered once, her elder brother Edmund got an A for his Potions. The whole family felt sorry for him during the summer vacation. Lindsey had never seen Ed being so upset before——really, it seemed contradicted with his optimism those days.
“It’s just a small test…” Lindsey murmured, trying to cheer herself up. But she just cannot be happy.
She looked outside. It’s the best time of the year: the sun was shining brightly, just like calling her to go out for a walk.
Suddenly, she was bumped into someone.
“Oops, I’m sorry…” That student said, raising up his/her head.

Sunshine Season
Cassie just came down from Owlery with the latest result of their class. They got A on the first lesson of the Flying class. Albeit A stand for Acceptable but for them it is NOT ACCEPTABLE for them. Cassie dreaded when they sent the letter to their parents, especially if the one that accept their letter are their father.
Their father will be disappointed with them even though it is just the beginning of the new enrolment year but their father already give a warning way before Cassie attended Hogwarts, anything that below E is a bad performance. They could protested to the Flying professor but then it would not change the fact that their assignment already been given and the score had been graded.
Cassie sigh at that fact. While looking down at the result, they bumped into someone. "Sorry"Cassie said half-heartedly. "Watch where you going!"Cassie snapped to whomever they bumped into. Their foul mood did not help at all. Cassie raised their head up and look at the girl. The girl wearing black robe with Hufflepuff insignia.
"Great! Just great! My day keep getting better and better"Cassie said sarcastically.
Cassie know that they are the one whose in the wrong here, but the arrogant side of them just flared up and in this kind of mood and situation, they just need to blame someone.

“Um, sorry if you feel bad.” Lindsey said carefully. They didn’t want anyone to feel bad of them——especially when they were new to a place.
“May I know your name?” Lindsey asked, cause they somehow liked the Slytherin girl standing in front of them. “I’m Lindsey.” They smiled, after noticing that they didn’t make self-introduction. “Hufflepuff, first grade.”
Actually, Lindsey’s not good at speaking to unacquainted people. It’s somehow a bit difficult for her to tell others her name. But she had to. Friends came from speaking first and introducing yourself to the one you met. Otherwise, you might become nervous and…well, had very few friends.
Ah, the test…Lindsey thought again. Dad wouldn’t say anything, nor would mom. But being competitive, they just cannot bear themselves being bad on anything. Especially, when the thing’s really easy to do.
It’s weird for them feeling sorry for a little test. But this, was life. You must accept it. Lindsey said to themselves. Forget it, and enjoy the sunshine outside.
They looked up to the Slytherin girl. She looked unhappy too. Lindsey thought. Was it about some tests and exams too? Anyway, they would talk with her.
“Um, I’m sorry but what made you unhappy? Maybe we could talk about it and you might feel better.” Lindsey looked into the girl’s eyes, trying to smile despite her nervousness and her own unhappiness.
P.S. I’m not sure if I use all they/them correctly——so please point out if there’s any mistakes!

When Cassie snapped at the Hufflepuff girl, the girl is the one that saying sorry that Cassie feel bad. The way the girl said it make Cassie ponder. Are they not mean enough? Are they not menacing enough? Aarcastic enough? And yet this girl that Cassie barely know, show compassion to an agitated stranger.
The girl requested their name. Then the girl stated that her name is Lindsey and her year. "Phoenix Cassandra Ironwoods"In the lapse of weakness and overwhelmed, Cassie blurred out their first name. Only a few handful people know their first name. "You can call me Cassie"They provides to the other girl.
Cassie looked down on the piece of paper. The red mark of A from their Flying assignment feels like taunting them. When the girl inquires what make Cassie unhappy and offer her ears to lend. Maybe it is not a bad thing that Cassie open up to a stranger. Maybe in the forthcoming weeks, months or even years after both of them graduated from this school they can be good friends or maybe a great best friends to each other.
Cassie let out a sighs and slide down to the nearest wall. Their back against the wall and both of their legs stretched out. The half crumpled assignment result on their laps. "You see, my father has high expectations and hopes for me. Way before I attend here, my dad warn me not to get grade below E and now look at this"Cassie shows their assignment result to Lindsey.
Cassie rubbed their eyes furiously to keep the hot angry tears at bay. "What am I supposed to do then? Any advice?"Cassie questions Lindsey and let out a long sighed. Their chest feel constricted and heavy. Cassie let out a sad laugh and shake their head.
