It's a Saturday morning. The hallways were littered with students going from all directions. One is heard talking excitedly about finally getting her parent's pass to go to Hogsmeade. An older student, Mystery Anne thought. Others were wearing their Quidditch uniforms. She sighed and stared longingly on the brooms they were carrying. She definitely can't wait to try out for the team. Others were just hanging about talking with no particular destination in mind. Much like Mystery Anne herself.

Her feet finally led her to the Library. She hadn't really thought about what to read. She already got the required books bought. She'd skimmed through the books and got a little overwhelmed. She decided, she would just read the required topics as they are given.

It was no secret she loved books. Her own room back in Newcastle was filled with muggle books which are mostly fiction. She also have a few of her mother's books written by witches and wizards. Others were her textbooks when she was a student in Hogwarts. The usual magazines from the magical community could also be found among those scattered in her mother's room. She really enjoyed seeing all those moving pictures. It was like watching the cartoons the muggles have on the television. She wondered if they have comics here like the ones the muggles make with pictures (that are not moving) but definitely had great stories. She liked the superhero ones. Maybe, she'll find one in this place.
As she walks along the corridors she bumps into a familiar face. She knew he was also a first year student. @Alec Mason . She might not be totally sure it was his name. She was really bad at remembering names.
"Oh, hi!"

@Mystery Anne AbbotAlec looked up. Had been a bit distracted by his own thoughts. This happened so often it was hard to tell when he was in his own little world or actually paying attention. He had a bit of a distaste for the large crowds in his common room and had decided it better to just come down to the library for some peace and quiet. You could never get any in that common room. There was always one thing or another going on there. It was completely ridiculous. Not one of the craziest things at Hogwarts, of course. He'd been caught talking to himself in the Small Hall, so it was only fair to assume at times he could be just as loud as everybody else in the common room.Alec finally acknowledged the person who'd said hi to him. He'd seen the person around a few times. Didn't know much about them. Just their face. He'd probably seen them around in classes before, no doubt. But wouldn't remember if he'd had. So for the sake of his sanity. And possibly hers. He said. "Hello.." Back. He wasn't much of a talker unless he knew the person well. So this wasn't unexpected. But it was odd that he replied. He was normally one to ignore the person unless he actually cared. And just pretend he didn't hear.

She smiled a little awkwardly. She wasn't exactly shy. She just had to improve her social skills especially on dealing with kids her own. At least, that was what she heard her Dad told her Mom. She is an only child and had only one friend outside her cousins who was a muggle. There was bound to be some issues on social interactions. However, she loved meeting people and listening to them - you know, preferably when they do most of the talking. As she regarded her fellow student, she wondered if it had been a mistake greeting him. He looked like he would rather read the books that talk to her. But he might just have been surprised.
"Are you studying? Am I interrupting?" she asked. "I was just actually just looking for something light to read. I was just remembering my comics back home. I live in a muggle city, you know. And I don't really know if they have muggle books here. I was just..." She stopped, pink tainting her cheeks. "I was mumbling again. Sorry about that."
She turned to leave, slapped her forehead, and faced her classmate again. "I interrupted you and I didn't even introduce myself. My name is Mystery Anne. Maybe interrupting you had nothing to do with introducing myself, but well. Nice to meet you!" She was sure her face was as red as tomatoes. She was definitely not shy. Maybe awkward?

She tilted her head to the side unsure of what to do next.
Maybe he doesn't really want to talk and I'm disturbing him, she thought. That has always been the case in her life. Not in her own home. No never. She was loved and had all the attention of her parents. But say for example, her mother's family. Zemira Abbor's sister lived in a very pretty house in Ottery St. Catchpole where witches and wizards live with muggles, though separately. It was thinly populated so it was easy for the magical community to settle with muggles - that was what she heard her Aunt Kitty tell her mother once. Mystery did observe that her cousin's household practiced magic more openly than them despite both being in a community where other muggles lived. And her older cousins, old enough that could wave their wands around the house which brought headaches to Aunt Kitty, would talk among themselves about going to places and watching the Quidditch game and they'd be using portkeys. When she would try joining their conversation, they would just look at her, smile, then tell her to go off play somewhere else where she won't disturb the adults talking. Sometimes, even Aunt Kitty would shoo her away when she was knitting or something, and Mystery Anne just wanted to ask a question then.
"They're just a little busy pet. Maybe you can try again later." That was what Mom or Dad would say if she told them about it.
With a sigh, she decided this is maybe one of those times. They were already having lessons. She was supposed to be studying. Then an idea took hold. Whenever she was not feeling up to reading, her mother who was strict when it comes to her education, would give her a treat after she'd do what she was told. And books were her favorite things in the world at the moment. Maybe, she could borrow something she could bring to her room. Then she would read through her first lesson and after she finished she would reward herself with a few chapter on the book she's going to borrow.
With the plan firmly laid out in her head. She turned to the other student and hesitated - just because she would be disturbing him again - before taking her leave. "I'm really sorry, if I disturbed you. I will go now so you can continue reading." She smiled apologetically before speeding away to disappear into the bookshelves as though in a quest to find her next adventure.

Alec watched the girl leave confusedly just as quick as she'd come she'd left. But disturbing Alec? Of course not. He'd just been caught up in his own thoughts, which happened too often. I mean, who wouldn't be? He'd just come up with this crazy plan and had so much to do well for him Clifton and Leonard did. If anything, she was helping bring Alec back to reality for a bit.Alec bit his lip in thought as he processed the girl's name 'Mystery Anne' definitely muggle he'd never heard of it before. Wait.. Had he upset her because he hadn't responded right away? He was just taking a bit to process everything she said. She seemed to talk quite a bit. That and being distracted didn't exactly help. Shoot.. He'd have to apologize to her later. She seemed quite nice after all. And maybe a bit more awkward than Alec. Well, he hoped she was. At least then she'd be able to understand him.Although he was a worrier too. There's no way anybody could understand that one of course. Because of course Alec had to take his worrying to a new extreme by talking out loud. "She's not mad right..? At least I hope not.." Alec mumbled as he spent the rest of the day thinking about the crazy plan he'd come up with, with Clifton and Leo.
