OOC note:
Reducio1) While everything written is true for Dido, much is intentionally incorrect (eg: Dido is not in Ravenclaw)
2) Apologies if she comes across as mean in this; I blame... something other than me that I'm sure I can think of.
3) Having written this and then cross-referenced with other Quidditch games, I realised that the word bits are probably a little too Dido focused rather than descriptive but... it's too late to change it! These words are what have been written
4) Also, I am very likely to have made mistakes with this (though I hope not obviously) so please reach out either through Owls or via discord if you think that there is an issue!Round 1 - ModerationTeam 1 - Snitch Find/Catch DC : 20/21

Cloudbreakers Cheat DC (average Team 1 wisdom + 15) : 20.4 = 20As the game begun, Dido was instantly blown away by the speed of it all. Flashes of players moving too quickly to make out who they were appeared before Dido's eyes, pausing for a moment before darting to the next area of the pitch. As she expected most spectators were, her eyes were immediately drawn to the seekers to check if they had seen the snitch but the older seeker, oddly, didn't seem to be looking. Instead, she was near that slightly terrifying and extremely rude boy who was playing the role of a beater. To Dido's shock Amethyst drew even closer to the boy, elbows at the ready and... perhaps noticing the girl's proximity, Remy soared away down the pitch.Debuff Fouls
"Hey! Amethyst! That's a penalty lap!" Dido called, possibly over-zealously, excited to be making her first announcement.

12 < 20 so penalty lapMeanwhile, the Ravenclaw prefect Dido had noticed earlier seemed be tackling the quaffle with ease, soaring in, grabbing the ball before shooting towards Cecilia at one end of the pitch. In fact, Sabrina was catching the quaffle with so little difficulty that Dido had to check up on the other team's chaser, Elisa, who seemed a little dazed.Quaffle Actions
"Scared of a few first years?!" Dido shouted in a mocking tone, entirely undeserved and especially hypocritical given her own fear of even being on the actual pitch herself.
At the hoops, Sabrina was facing off against Cecilia, the Slytherin Quidditch Captain. With a beautiful shot, she sent the quaffle flying towards the hoop and, as Cecilia reached out to block the ball, Dido couldn't help but wince as the quaffle grazed her hand before continuing through the hoop. Fortunately for Cecilia's place as captain, she managed to redeem herself blocking two of the other shots that came her way and only narrowly missing the other two.

Following the confrontation between the chaser and the keeper, Dido glanced back at the seekers to see how the search for the snitch was getting on. Unlike Amethyst, Dahlia was actually doing her job and not cheating, to Dido's immense disappointment, and she gazed across the pitch, concentrating hard. Unfortunately, the girl didn't seem to notice any sign of the snitch and Dido turned back to the rest of the game, dismayed. The Snitch

Not quite. Next time +1Dido almost leapt out of her skin and off the Quidditch stands at the CRACK that came from Remy's bat as he hit the bludger with enough force to topple a building, which, for Remy, was not unlikely to have been his intention. Mouth agape, Dido stared as the bludger flew towards Ophelia, who sat there, patiently, her bat ready. Dido squeezed her eyes shut in anticipation but, when no sickening crunch of broken bone came, opened them in shock. Ophelia had smashed the bludger away from herself and towards another player, Jada, one of the girls Dido recognised. Unlike Ophelia, Jada did not possess a heavy bat with which to deflect the ball but, thankfully, the final blow did not seem as bad as it could have been.Bludgering

At last, Dido turned her attention back to the part-giant boy, possibly waiting for him to explode in rage but, out of the corner of her eyes, she instead noticed Livia, another Slytherin, racing towards him. Instinctively, Dido opened her mouth to warn the boy but, before she could, the tall girl's shockingly fast broom had carried her over to him and sent Remy toppling down from his. With impressively quick reactions having been bludgered only moments before, Jada swooped over to the falling boy and caught him, heaving Remy up onto her broom. Dido watched the pair, making sure the two first years could fly alright, before glaring at Livia and using her most authoritative voice to yell, "Machavariani! Penalty lap!"KOB Fouls
In comparison to her earlier attempts at confidence, this was magnificent, however, without the contrast, it was still rather too mousy for Dido's liking.

Fear is temporary, regret is forever
Okay, yeah, the match started, and everyone got into their position. On her broom, Ophelia took another deep breath and gripped her bat tighter. Let's see how this goes, now, shall we? Her eyes darted everywhere in the training pitch, following the movements of her teammates and opponents. She bit the inside of her cheek as adrenaline rushed in her veins.
Amethyst got caught, trying to cob Remy. He evaded, but that wasn't the biggest issue; no, not when Ophelia saw how Sabrina scored them 30 points. "Yes!" she cheered happily. This match wasn't going as badly as she thought it might.
Then it was her turn to notice something, or perhaps, someone. @Remy Break, the opponent's beater, had hit the bludger so hard that one might've been deaf if they didn't hear the loud sound it made. Ophelia didn't fail to notice that he had targeted her, and immediately attempted, and succeeded, in intercepting the bludger. The bludger hit her bat and redirected toward @Jada Blake. Ophelia winced as the bludger hit her, probably not as painful as it would've been if Remy's bludger had hit Ophelia, but it still would've been so, since bludgers, Ophelia reckoned, were pretty firm.
Livia then attempted in blatching Remy, who was then saved by... Jada? Ophelia was impressed by how the girl could react so quickly right after being bludgered.

Remy furrowed his eyebrows with such anger one could possibly imagine that he was half merged with a storm cloud ready to lash at any moment. He wasn't hurt, no, of course he wasn't! Remy Break doesn't get hurt! But he was scowling just because these lunatics seemed to want him dead, falling to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
He spat towards the ground, that poor soul to whoever the loogie would hit. "LIHDIA CHEAT!" He cried out, hoping she could now be pulled out and put into a corner to think about her actions for, preferably, seven weeks, because Remy didn't like her.
He didn't like that. Oh, she was caught! But unfortunately the penalty wasn't as severe as he wished it was. Man, they needed to toughen up with Livia, she wasn't a weak toddler, she knew what she was doing- premeditated murder!
The other one, Remy couldn't think of her name, tried to intercept his bludger? Nuh uh. Did she lack a brain cell or what. Remy would've happily had hit her on the upside of her head with his beater's bat if she wished to come closer to try to steal the iron ball next time. Unacceptable behavior.
The bludger deflecting away from his target- the same one who thought it smart to intercept his ball- towards Jada? Boy, this girl was loony as hell. And he was definitely ready to teach her a lesson.

It appeared that the scales of fate had initially tilted themselves in favour of the Cloudbreakers. Livia sat, poised, on her broom after having taken off, her observant – perhaps catlike – green eyes scanning the pitch with intrigue. Her opportunity would present itself shortly. It did not come as swiftly as she would have liked; the agreed-upon cheating by way of Amethyst had not occurred according to their plan. However, as reacting to unexpected circumstances was a necessary facet of life, and so she simply lay in wait. Her olive-toned hands, which were – irresponsibly, perhaps – devoid of outerwear, rested daintily upon the finely polished shaft of her broom. She had momentarily swung her legs over it to ride side-saddle.
The crack of Ophelia’s intercept returned Livia to the task at hand. She slowly, almost playfully, turned away from the entertaining Quaffle game, and instead angled her broom towards Remy. The Silver Arrow could easily reach speeds of 68 miles per hour; its effortless acceleration was renowned by Quidditch aficionados everywhere. All it required was a small push, a downwards lean, the intention to fly even faster.
Before she knew it, Livia had arrived at Remy’s side. She did not emote outwardly, instead reaching out and shoving him off of his broom as if it were just a box to be ticked on a to-do list. It required more accuracy than it did strength, which was to the slim Slytherin’s benefit. The right angle, and even a voluminous oaf such as Remy would not be able to remain steadfastly stuck upon the stick.
She had expected the call for a penalty lap. The only indication of acknowledgement she would offer would be a quick, likely unnoticeable glance through lowered lashes at Dido on the ground. She then angled her broom towards the perimeter of the pitch, altogether certain that penalty laps were a waste of everyone’s time.

Jada cried out as a Bludger came flying towards her. Remy had bludgered it at full force towards Ophelia which should've worked. Unfortunately, the girl had enough wits about her to deflect it, right towards her! She dove to the side, able to avoid the worst of it but definately not getting away unscathed. Damn it, she breathed through her teeth, she had to focus. At very least she would try stay conscious this game.
Turning her attention back to the game, she saw Livia speed towards Remy. She watched out of her peripheral vision, her gut told her that girl seemed up to no good. Nobody in their right minds would fly right at a giant with a bat.
THERE! She shoved Remy, subtle but strong. Jada dove on her broom, not ready to lose such an asset yet. She successfully got Remy onto her own broom and the two now flew together. Neither was out yet but they were a much easier target together than they were alone.
The shrill whistle cut through the air as Dido called out Livia's foul and sent the girl for a penalty lap. To her annoyment, Livia seemed barely phased by this and just calmly did as she was told.

Before the game began, Cecilia would return the polite greeting of her predecessor with great shame brewing within her. Admittedly, it was rather embarrassing to face her after failing to secure a win for Slytherin. Perhaps this would be a chance to learn from her.
Another familiar face, Jada, would be met with a smile. Aside from Quidditch, Cecilia had also played water polo with her which had been great fun. Although this was hardly the setting for exchanging pleasantries, she resolved on getting to know the first-string chaser better someday.
Last, but not least, was the recurring figure at most (if not all) of these sporting events. “You don’t say. At this rate, I think it would be odd for us to not run into each other.” she remarked with a short laugh before happily accepting her handshake and returning her fist bump. “Your honesty is appreciated, but I’m also hoping to win,” she admitted with a sly smile. “Let’s not hold ourselves back.”
With that, she quickly ran to her starting position. Once she took to the sky, Cecilia was far too focused on the task at hand to pay mind to the clashes occurring on the rest of the pitch. In that moment, there was only her and her swift sports buddy turned opponent. Merlin’s beard, she thought as sweat trickled down her forehead. How did Lottie even manage this?
Although she managed to block two shots, she absolutely fumbled one. “Let’s pretend neither of us saw that,” she said half-jokingly to the chaser with a grin. If one were looked closely, they would likely notice a faint glow of pink on her cheeks.

That's a penalty lap!
The voice roared in her ears, louder in her head than it actually was.
Amethyst's heart dropped into an endless pit.
That was her very first move in the game and a very bad one at that.
She decided to foul instead of searching for the snitch.
She decided to foul instead of doing her very job as the seeker.
Maybe she was not meant for Quidditch after all, unlike her father.
Meanwhile, she saw Livia taking the fall too because of the agreed-upon cheating.
But perhaps the team wasn't all bad. Sabrina was able to score 30 points, and Ophelia was able to intercept the half-giant's bludger and send it towards one of his teammates.
Amethyst admired her strength because that half-giant was definitely not playing about his bludger.
The bludger that came her way could have cracked her head.
So, maybe the Cloudbreakers could just stay away from cheating and fouling and getting caught and wasting time on a penalty lap.
She looked around the pitch, and her team thankfully did not look too disappointed in her.
The half-giant still irritated her, however. She was grateful he was playing for the opposing team. He even mispronounced a simple word like 'Livia'.
That boy was aggressive over anything and everything.
Still sour about everything, Amethyst soared down towards the perimeter of the pitch to finish her penalty lap.
And if she intended to prove she belonged in the sky, she would simply have to do better.

Unofficial Quidditch matches were something Elisa had always enjoyed participating in, from her 1st year when she'd been trying to figure out her interest in broom sports with a stupid school broom to her most recent match, where her own cousin had taken her out of the game by targeting her. But the adrenaline for the sport, despite the broken bones, sore muscles, and broom wood splinters, her love for the sport remained constant.
She groaned as she walked towards the pitch, her hand clutching her broom. She'd practically fainted in her bed with sleep the moment her array of heavy books for the upcoming exams came to an end, her sleep so potent that she'd missed the time on her clocks as she hurried towards the pitch. She knew she was late, but how much? No idea.
Her eyes widened when she saw the flying figures from afar, "Shit", the word escaped her mouth, the game had long started, and she was late, extremely late. Her eyes fell on the people, her supposed teammates, some of them she didn't know, while one was the Slytherin Quidditch captain herself, for Elisa's rotten luck, in her damn team itself.
She looked around, making sure the moderator Dido, some first-year whom Elisa'd barely seen, didn't notice as she mounted her broom and rose, mentally hoping none of her teammates had noticed her lack of time sense, though their opinion'd barely affect her much, it was the disappointment that she felt in herself to be swayed by a stupid thing like sleep.

Smile bright she nodded at the familiar girl's words, 'let's not, there would be no fun in that' noting how swiftly and easily their improvised hand movement went, she commited it into her memory under the 'something that could be reused later' section.
The sky had yet to turn into a blur of battling students when the first, foul announcing shout escaped their referee's lips. The rule breaking act was performed by one of their own (@Amethyst Castillo), a small frame aiming to hit a brick wall, missing it by a strand of hair. Sabrina couldn't bring herself to judge the action, as their, now penalised, seeker's target was noone other than the loud brute. She did, however, momentarily regret not being in her usual position of a beater, acquiped with a bat she could bonk the giant with herself.
Not lingering on the bright future lost, she focused on the present. Gray eyes setting on a different sphere than usual, she reached for the quaffle, taking hold of it with a surprising ease. The luck of a newbie was on her side, her first throw brushing against the red-head's quick fingers and zooming through the hoops. Despite it, a wince replaced the smile on the raven's face, 'I saw nothing, but still – you okay?'
Almost as if taking turns winning and losing, the two girls worked in an unagreed upon rhythm: a score, a block, a score, a block.
Her eyes peeled away from the red flames only when a bang sounded through the air, head whipping around just in time to catch a glimse of their beater (@Ophelia Vanderbilt) – her spring ball dance partner and teammate from games already passed – hitting a bludger that was meant to take her down. Appreciating her quick reflexes with a low whistle, she directed her comment not to the girl herself but to the keeper she probably shouldn't be so buddy buddy with right now, 'That was one of a crazy save, eh?'
Observing the other players for a moment longer, she caught sight of her fellow chaser (@Livia Machavariani), perhaps inspired by their seeker, slamming against the awful boy, 'Yes! Get that prick!' she couldn't help but cheer, arms shooting above her head in excitement, 'That girl is so resilient,' she nodded towards the hurt chaser (@Jada Blake), turning back to her companion, 'And a tad crazy, scooping him up like that,' she shook her head in an honest show of worry for her brave opponent.

Now, to find the golden orb. Dahlia had seen it done many times before. She had visually processed the act a sufficient amount of times to consider herself a true expert in snitch-catch-watching which was, basically, the same as snitch-catching. She was an experienced snitch-catcher in spirit if not in practice.
It was harder than it appeared. Dahlia was confident on her school broom. The stylistic flair or lack thereof disappointed her. However, it was the broom on which she had learned to fly. She was comfortable riding it.
Her fingers wrapped tightly around the wooden handle as to direct her path. She angled upward sharply, above where the rest of the game was passing by. It was easiest to see without clumsy, first-year bodies blocking her view.
The view was, nevertheless, troubling. Her neck craned upwards and was met by an uninterrupted field of blue. Downwards, only flashes of student uniforms on a background of grass. Was the golden fake bird mocking her? It wasn't up high so it had to be down low, right? That seemed logical.
The witch's forearms locked, steering her broom downward in a steep decline. There were limits to how fast her school broom could travel but Dahlia was trying her best with the resources available to her. Her focus darted between where she was going and her surroundings.
Perhaps the girl would benefit from slowing down to look properly...
