It was yet another Friday in the Hogwarts castle. Another Friday meant another day of classes. Another day of classes meant a lot of students, a lot of teachers, and a lot of homework. Usually, at least. Not today. No, today, the homework part wasn't that much, but Ophelia was in a rush to finish it all as quickly as possible and then go to Grounds, lie down somewhere quiet in the absence of human beings, or any other beings, really.

The last class of that day was Transfiguration. It was, in general, a lovely subject, and involved physics, too, which wasn't Ophelia's strongest suit, but she managed. That day, the class was exceptionally attentive. If you asked her, she would tell you the same thing, but the class wasn't really acting very differently than it did any other day. Perhaps because it was the last lesson of the day, nobody had the energy to be loud anymore.

When it ended, students hurried to go out, including Ophelia. She wanted to relax, and you couldn't blame her. She quickly put some of her books in her bag, which was way too full, then realized she forgot her pencil case. So, she put some books back on the table and put her pencil case in her bag, and then all three two of those books. The remaining one was forgotten, as she'd thought she had taken it with the other two. Apparently not. But she didn't notice that until it was too late.

When walking in the corridors to the Gryffindor common room, she decided to double-check her bag, because a bad feeling started to rush over her (which she had brushed off until then), she muttered a "Shit" under her breath. Groaning, she zipped her bag and ran toward the Transfiguration classroom, hoping that the book was still there.

The classroom was already empty, the students had quickly packed their things right after the class had ended. Alex had just finished asking the professor his question about the earlier lesson, the part that had left him confused had finally been answered. He was more than grateful that it was already Friday instead of Monday, though the exhaustion never stopped wearing on him.

Alex sighs softly, though it's loud in the empty classroom. When he's just about to leave, he sees a textbook lying closed on one of the tables. 'Do they seriously leave their things behind just like this?' He thinks, mentally shaking his head before picking up the book and flipping open the book cover to see the owner's name.

' Ophelia Vanderbilt '

"Who in Merlin's world is this?" He mutters to himself before walking out of the class. He's terrible at remembering faces, and it's even worse when he's in a new place. Their names are sometimes even hard to pronounce – don't even get him started on Irish names. It's a torture, really. Plus, it's not his fault that he inherited his father's last name.

Just when he turns to his right to the corridors, a student, girl almost crashes into him. "Good grace, pardon me," he takes a small step back before he remembers the textbook in his hand. "Do you perhaps know anyone named Ophelia? Right, hold on-" Alex opens the book once again, scanning the surname. "Ophelia Vanderbilt?" Alex repeats as his other hand is adjusting his bag strap that hangs on his left shoulder.

" The lesson of history is that no one learns. "

"Shit-"

Ophelia almost bumped into another boy when she was taking a turn, a Slytherin she had seen in their just-finished class. That did not mean she knew his name or anything else about him. Ophelia? Yes, her name, but also many other Hogwarts students' names. When he opened the book and said her last name, though, Ophelia beamed. "Yes, that's me," she said, "I was just going back to class to get it, but it seems like you got to me first."

Technically, it wasn't her fault that she'd forgotten the book. She had thought that she'd put it in her bag at the time, while her mind was who knows where. Maybe she should have paid more attention to packing up and thinking less about random, intrusive thoughts, and maybe she should have listened to her 'bad feeling' earlier than she had, so that nobody else could take her book. She was glad she bumped into that person, or else she would probably not get the book any time soon, if she even received it.

"What's your name, again? I believe we have one or two classes together," she asked, wanting to at least know her, so to say, 'academic saviour's name before getting her book and thanking him, "I'm Ophelia, as you already may know, given my response just a minute ago," she grinned.
