The castle in the broad daylight was as confusing as it was, but at night? It was like a maze, all the moving staircases and complicated passageways. The ancient castle was beautiful but in the darkness of night, it could be a bit creepy with all the portrait's eyes following you everywhere, not to mention the cold air of the night. To be honest, it’s kind of exciting.
But no matter how risky it it, nothing would make Alexis turn back now, she's too far away from her Ravenclaw tower . She wasn't sure what in the name of Merlin possessed her to be here tonight. She was so bored and she missed home. Back there she could have just wandered around in her library or maybe wake her brothers up. A little adventure in the dark wouldn’t hurt anyone. except her ego if she somehow got caught, of course.
She must admit she still have some doubt doing this, detention would be so boring but she was confident she would not get caught, she barely hear her own footsteps in the empty corridor and she didn't even cast any light spell. If she could, she would just stop breathing all together. Maybe I could find some secret passage. more and more thoughts were popping up on her head as she continued to step into the darkness, occasionally glance out the window, observing the beautiful night sky.

Ginevra had always thought that this would be super exciting, sneaking outside the dorm after hour; and she was not afraid to do it even if she was alone. But now that she was truly doing that, it seemed that it would be more fun to do it with a friend.
However, the problem was that Ginevra did not know lots of people in Hogwarts. She did know who was who - at least the most active students, those even from other houses and higher grades - but that just it. The academically exceptional, the Quidditch players, the class clowns. No real close friend.
The first year Hufflepuff shrugged. Of course she could turn back if she wanted, but she just did not feel like doing it. It was nice, really, this atmosphere. The silence, the slight coldness of the night, the little tension (from the probability of being caught and sent to detention). It was as if she were having a true adventure, just like what happened to fictional characters in books and films.
Suddenly her eyes caught a dark-haired girl who was also wandering in the night. Who was she, and what was she doing?
Ginevra was tempted to attract her attention, but she was not sure how to do that without making the girl surprised and - worse - made a noise that would wake everyone up. So she just waited for the other to hopefully notice her...

Alexis continued her journey down the corridor in silence. She gazed around into nothingness, admiring each brick on the wall of the castle. She found nothing interesting, everything looked completely ordinary. This is boring. I need entertainment.
A nightly stroll could always calm her when she feels restless, or bored. But this? This is beyond that level of boredom she has ever been through. Okay. Maybe I’m exaggerating things a bit.
Suddenly, a sound of light footsteps interrupted her thoughts and brought pulled her out of her own head. If years of sneaking around in her own house had taught her anything, it would be how to pick up little sound at night when you’re supposed to be alone. Even though the unexpected sound had startled her a bit, she was pretty sure she has cover it all up. She walked at the same pace as before, acting as if she heard absolutely nothing and grabbed her wand tighter. Her thoughts are running through every spell she had ever read about that could benefit her in a situation that may or may not occur. Alright, no spell that makes sound or bright lights would do, nothing too hard though, that’d be an unnecessary risk.
She didn’t know if she really need to use her wand or not, it could be just another student walking around just like her. After about thirty or so seconds that mysterious person had not made any attempt to attack or dock her house point, she slow her pace and come to a stop, pressing her back to the wall, raising her wand a little higher. Her voice was low and cold but her face was calm and distant, she called out, “What are you doing here?”

The longer into the night Jack had been patroling, the heavier his eyelids became. There was a need for some other distraction from the endless hallways of this ungodly large school. How in the world was he supposed to keep himself awake without any distractions! It was all terribly bland. His footsteps echoed loudly as he sauntered through and down the corridors; However, his boredom would soon come to an end!
The young Hufflepuff had stumbled upon another colleague, in his aimless patroling. Pericles, a Ravenclaw prefect, had crossed paths with the tall first year. After a quick flashing of their badges to one another, they had decided to walk with one another—nothing like a companion to make the hour go faster. Naturally, a casual conversation ensued. It was the type of discussion that could go on forever and not actually say anything substantial at all. Jack was perfectly fine with the company.
After several more minutes of talking, walking, and joking around, the slightest sound of a somebody calling out made Jack pause for a moment. Sticking out his arm in front of his fellow prefect, Jack stopped and put up a finger to his lips. The international sign of 'Shut your mouth!' Looking at his current partner in law, Jack mouthed out the words, "Did you hear that?" His mouthing was followed by a head motion that leads further down the hall. A sudden surge of excitement built within Jack- this would be his first bust if he thought this was what he hoped.

Eloise crept through the dark corridors in relative silence. Despite being warned not to leave after curfew, the first year had left her common room in hopes to learn the school without students around. With her wand clutched tightly in a fist, Eloise began exploring the dark castle.
The girl wandered the stairs and hallways as quietly as she could manage. In the wide corridors, it wasn't hard to keep out of a stray beam of moonlight or tuck into a dark corner. The sheer excitement and adrenaline rushing through Eloise's veins made the adventure all the more thrilling.
Voices could be heard as Eloise rounded a corner. She froze in place, attempting to locate where the sound had come from. Seeing figures ahead, she ducked into a dark corner. Fretting over being caught would do her no good, Eloise decided. She would stay as quiet as possible and hope whoever it was would not go looking in her direction. It's just another first year, she told herself. They probably just wanted to learn the castle too.
In an attempt to remain hidden, Eloise peeked her head out of her hiding place. Maybe it's best to just wait. Watching seemed like the better choice. No use running away when there was a chance she wouldn't be seen anyway.

Just as Ginevra had decided that sneaking around was more fun with someone else, Pericles had found that sharing a patrol would be better done with company. He had spent the start of his shift on-edge, marching about like a little soldier, casting the light of Lumos down dark corridors and jabbing his wand at tricks of the light. The young Ravenclaw took his position quite seriously. That is, of course, until he had a Hufflepuff to wander with. That businesslike focus was disrupted by the sociability of your average eleven-year-old. Peri was pleased for the small-talk, idly posing questions and smiling all the while.@Jack Warren @Ginevra Tsuchiya @Alexis Asterion @Eloise Terrel
How long have you been a prefect? It's been about a month for me.
What's your favorite place to patrol? I like the lake, during the day.
Do you always go it alone? I think we're safer in pairs, really.
The special bathroom is absurdly decadent. I kind of like it.
Friendly prattle would be disrupted by that distant call- “What are you doing here?” Pericles was quick to quiet, having gently bumped into the arm which Jack held up, eyes wide and forehead furrowed. He hastily held up his wand, but that wariness quickly turned to elation as he, too, realized what they had likely stumbled upon. Not some dark wizards creeping around the castle, or some other such conundrum. Students out after hours! Now, Pericles was hardly a glutton for inflicting punishment, but there was something to be said for the excitement of a bust. After all: on the nights when nothing happened, he feared that he had simply failed to catch anyone in the act. This would make their time worthwhile. Nodding to affirm he had heard the voice as well, Pericles hugged the wall and softened his steps, trying to stay silent as a specter while they neared the next corner.

The words left her mouth before she could stop them, realization drawn upon her. She screwed up. Why did I say that? You idiot! She mentally cursed herself. It’s not like she said it loudly, but they’re in the middle of the corridor she can’t even see the end of. Who knows if there was anyone else here.
She still hasn’t ran out of luck yet, the corner of her eye noticed something else. Wasn’t that corner used to be darker? It was as if there was light coming their way. Her eyes widen at the thoughts of Professor catching them lurking around after curfew.
Before the other girl could reply, Alexis lifted her finger to her mouth signaling the girl not to answer. Don't reply. She mouthed silently and beckon the girl to follow her. She wasn’t sure if the girl got the message or not, Alexis reach out to grab the girl’s arm.
Without tearing her eyes away from that corner she took slow steps back with even more caution than before. One, two, three, four, five, six... She counted her steps until she reach another dark corner and stepped in with the girl.
Her eyes met with another girl, she silently begged the girl to stay quiet. She didn’t want to be caught, not tonight. But even with her heart racing, she couldn’t deny that this is exciting, this is kind of challenge she was looking for.

You couldn't exactly call Jack an anti-social creature, but he did enjoy his alone time. However, walking around these hallways in the darkness, he was glad that he had a companion to walk with him. Jack didn't have time to think about how he was delighted to have Peri with him because he was a bloodhound, and he was on the scent. Bringing his index fingers from his lips, Jack slowly pulled his wand from the fold in his Hufflepuff robes. A small part of him wanted a confrontation, but that would always be a little messy. Maybe it was best to change tactics "Alrighty, perhaps you want to step out before things get bad for you." The boy called out. Threats are an excellent means to an end.
Tapping Pericles on the arm, the Hufflepuff prefect briskly started walking towards the suspicious noises. Jack wasn't entirely sure it was a student out after curfew, but when Jack made an assumption, he ran with it. Glancing back, the boy nodded his head at his fellow prefect, indicating that he wanted him to follow behind. It was like they were playing a high stakes game of hide and seek. If the hiders won, they got away scot-free. BUT if they lost, the consequences will be dire—Jack kind of loved that.
Like a panther in the Jungle, Jack prowled forwards towards his prey. On the balls of his feet, one foot following the other. In an attempt to be sneaky, the boy bent low, crouched near the closest wall, and pressed his frame close to the stone masonry. It was time to catch some rule-breakers. Jack was in their position just at the start of the year, and it can be a scary position to be found out. Nobody wants to get discovered while having fun.
