A new friend pet

She pushed the door open and a jingle of bells followed. Helena gazed up beaming at the terrariums, cages and aquariums. The place flooded with animals, of all shape, size, colour and breed. She couldn't wait. A fizzy excitment filled her like a bottle waiting to be opened and burst. Her father looked around and a smirk plastered on his face. "Walk around Helena, go on! You may pick whichever you want, a companion for life."
Elated, she strolled through the shop carefully scanning each and individual pet. Toads? No. Owls? No. Rats? No. Cats? Helena felt a passion for felines, their touch, their dainty and elegancy. Felines seemed to be the only other animal she connected with other than owls. Growing up with owls everywhere at home, Helena didn't feel an urge to add to the many. Quickly, she turned around to her father, who was searching at the toads. Skipping towards him she asked, "Father, what should you think I get?"
He shrugged, " Your choice, what type of friend would you like?"
"A feline, definitely!" Helena responded with a determined tone. Pulling her father with her, she once again revisited the cats. All sorts were there, gingers, grey, black, small, large! Such a variety of cats!
"I'll wait for you outside ok? I'm going to head out and do some work." She replied with a gentle nod still facing the cages and cages of the delicate cats. The jingle rang again and Helena quickly turned around. There was an old couple running the store and Helena quietly approached them.
"Hello" she whispered in a soft voice, "My name is Helena. I'm trying to find my perfect friend. Can you help?"
The old man replied, "Hiya Helena! I'm Earnest Whittaker, and my wife Anita" he gestured toward a frail lady. Her hair silver and curled shone in the light. Anita's face with a light layer of make up. Helena though of her as a nice and presentable woman. Her husband carried on, "Our job is to help each and every customer find the perfect animal love of their life." His smile was helpful, representing a love, charm. Helena knew they were keen about their job.
She continued to search around, maybe looking for one she hasn't seen before. A gentle voice came, "Do you know what kind you want?" She returned her gaze back towards the 2 owners as Anita's voice softened. "The breed? Species?"
"Cats. I'm terribly fond of feline." Helena replied. A little too quickly.
Earnest's face represented his emotions, suprised and loving. "Have you checked the ones we have?" he questioned gently, "Let me introduce you to some," Climbing out from behind the counter, he wandered to where Helena stood and faced the varieties of cats. Slowly, he pulled closer a red mackeral tabby and resting it on his arm. The flannel checkered shirt was vibrant against the pale orange tabby. "How about this one?"
The cat looked up at her keenly, big wide eyes. "I'm not sure it's the right one" Helena sighed. They repeated this, Earnest pulling out a cat and Helena simply refusing. After a while of this back and forth, Earnest grabbed a grey mackerel tabby and lay it on Helena's arm. "This one seems to be the right one for you" He beamed a wholehearted smile and Helena mirrored it. The cat bounced and jumped, lively and full of energy. "Yes! Her name will be... JINX!"
Anita grinned with Earnest joining in. Anita walked round and dragged Helena into a bear hug. Helena enjoyed every moment. She found the lost friend she's been looking for. Perfect.
