Secret Blossom Ball
The resentment for Erin Ryan sustained even after the false sentiment of friendship that day in the hospital wing. A sentiment she foolishly deemed to be genuine, helplessly embracing Thomas as a pawn to affirm her certifiable behavior. Though as time passed, the lines blurred, muddling how the boy would define their relationship. The girl’s claim she searched for him in his absence would have been honorable if true, but there was evidence supporting her deception. They both maintain a connection to a lovely trio of women, or do they?
Erin Ryan claims to have interacted with them, but if she had…she would have found the boy she claimed to search for. Thus, one day at the lake when the two intertwined, an impulsive plan was formed. To provide clarity for the boy. The crossroads at which he would embrace her friendship if her claims were true, but if proven to be the liar he believed she was, perhaps he would not have minded the risk to be din that evening.
It was academic, when on the receiving end of the part-veela’s ire, she wasted no time broaching the sensitive topic of his mother. A sore spot that Thomas actively attempts to avoid. Any lingering pain from the collision into a chair faded with the increasing heart rate, the adrenaline arriving from the long awaited contest between them. Pressing his lips together with a piercing glare at the girl, Thomas brushed any lingering remnants of grass and dirt in his steady approach, squaring his body with his opponent. The orchestra’s musical notes faded, the surrounding voices muted, and the intervening Fox invisible. It was she and him, Ryan versus Lestrange.
"So sentimental LeStrange, Like the time we met and you were set off with a single comment about how your muggle mother turned you into a mongrel."
“Bad blood, right?” She did not have to say much, the implications that came with any statement of his mother were clear. The blood running through her veins razed the Lestrange pureblood line, placing his family in the doghouse of many pretentious pureblood houses. “Yet you fawn over a muggle-born…” Another reason for Thomas not to trust her, the cringy obsession with the boy she met the night of Thomas’ return. “So desperate for attention, you claim he is Parce.” Erin was many things, but stupid was not one of them. “And you have the nerve to hold me responsible for your ignorance.” Like a storm rolling in, each utterance weighted and louder than the last, it was no secret Thomas has been waiting a long time for this confrontation. “You’re so full of shit, Erin.”
History does tend to repeat itself, much like that day in the library after a comparable heated exchange, Erin would attack Thomas with intent to injure. This time the boy was ready, tilting his shoulder square to her chest in a defensive stance, bracing for her…creative wrestling move. An agile jump to climb the ladder of his frame, providing a brief discomforting visual in the process. With a flexed side-step, Erin slid off harmlessly to the grass in a crouch.
"You're less of a dotard than I thought, No matter, I will remember your protracted suffering fondly,"
Because I’m an idiot and did not post in timeThomas did not immediately respond with an attempted physical blow, instead providing a smug glare his weave game provided. A look Erin quickly tried to erase, launching her body forward with a flying kick that would make any NFL domestic abuser proud [guy in your gif is one]. Thomas jolted in attempt to sidestep another attack, but instead he was forced backwards when a pair of hands gripped his torso. He foolishly struggled the embrace, but the boy was strong enough to help avoid a lethal kick only a few inches from impact, dragging Lestrange’s feet across the grass. Thomas tightened his elbow, turning and twisting to escape the grasp of who has turned out to be a trustworthy ally so far…it was Selim.
Then came the darkness. One by one, the candles extinguished themselves. A collective hush overcame the collection of students, followed by intermittent screams that underlined an urgent sense of paranoia. A buzzing sound progressively grew louder, sporadic flashes of light from students casting lumos, and one badass was setting… that a fire torch? A smirk played onto Thomas’ lips, shouting in the direction of fire boy. “Hey! Fire boy!” If he located the direction of Thomas’ voice and approached, Thomas would yell once more. “Is there more where that came from?” A request for a torch of his own.
A pair of unsheathed knives refocused Lestrange. This was the moment where the students set aside their differences for the common goal of survival, right? Not for Lestrange, his eyes remained locked on where he presumed Erin to be, though he was not sure which dark figure was which in the darkness. Any fear from this unprecedented buzzing threat that activated cumulative fear amongst the ball attendees was outweighed by the back to back attacks from the part-veela.
"Lestrange, what do we do now?"
“Get to the bag.” Thomas reiterated Victor’s bag, the one he motioned to prior to Erin’s rude interruption. Given it has not moved, Selim could use his directional sense in a bee line to find it. However, since Thomas did not specify, it was possible the AIT confuses which bag Thomas was referring to, instead approaching the one belonging to Vlad. Either one works, as obtainment could serve as a nice bargaining chip. “I will find you.” Whether Selim chooses to leave Thomas or not would not affect his next decision.
"J-Fox, where are you?"
Thank god for Jamie Foxx. In darkness, sound is an ally. Hence the decision to be silent in preparation for his long overdue aggressive attack. Thomas turned to the direction of Erin’s voice in a dead sprint, launching his feet upward into the air in attempt to dropkick her in the chest.

Alexis’s gaze turned to focus on the red haired girl, she sent her a small smile. “No need to apologize, it’s wasn’t your fault.” It’s true, it wasn’t the girl’s fault some people decided that it would be a good idea to fight in the middle of a ball.
She listened as Decipio introduce the boy in quidditch uniform. “Ravenclaw.” She informed the girl shortly and turned to Woodward, “Nice to meet you.” giving him a nod and a smile.
“Yes, I’m fine.” Alexis answered and turned to the girl, she raised her brows slightly as she takes in the state of the girl’s gown, but she said nothing. Instead she willed her eyes to try and adjust to the darkness as quick and as much as possible.
The light at the tip of her wand was enough for Alexis to make out her surroundings as her companions plan their actions. Once again, someone called Decipio’s name, Alexis pointed her wand in the direction, making it easier to identify the newcomer. They speak for a while before another voice cut in. Alexis sensed the distrust in Decipio’a voice as they speak. Skin? What’s that about?
The party is, indeed, over. She nodded in agreement. “Of course, I’ll find a professor. And be careful, whatever you do.” Alexis stood still as she try to figure out a plan to get to the broom stash without encountering anymore disaster but a faint buzzing interrupted her train of thoughts. She heard a boy, Flash, as Decipio called him. He called out something about flower and aggressive, she didn’t catch the first part.
Alexis raised her wand slightly higher, trying to find whatever it is the boy mentioned before he took off. She tried to piece the information she received together as she make her way to the entrance. Buzzing sound, flower and aggressive? Mosp. She abruptly stopped. Bloody hell! Vampyr mosp. She read about it in some boom back home a while ago. She cringed at the thought of its stringer. Better steer clear of them.
Gigantic mosps, what a lucky day. She sighed as she moved her feet again, this time with more caution and she keeps her eyes on the sky as well.

Ariana stumbled slightly as she made her way through the packed crowd, now in search of a certain brunette. Where was Janet? She had barely taken a few steps forward, two drinks clutched in her hands, when she started to notice something strange. Whether it was a trick of the light or not, Ariana did not know, was it? The lights were starting to go out. One by one she watched as they flickered feebly, unable to hold strong against whatever was cutting them out. What was happening? She needed to find James. She needed to find Janet.
A few more paces and the gryffindor began to panic, her quest to find her cousin had been left long forgotten, she’d find him at a later date and rage at him then. For now her focus was on the strange happenings, the candles had nearly all gone out and the pitch was submerged into darkness, leaving Ariana gazing with bewilderment into the pitch black surroundings. People around were panicking, a buzzing was beginning to reach the gryffindors ears, it was strange, eerie, unwelcome. She needed to get out of here fast, yet her desire to find the source of the current upheaval was impatiently stronger.
She placed the drinks hastily on a nearby table before running forward, her hands slightly outstretched. Searching for someone familiar in the darkness. The gryffindor was knocked off balance as she unexpectedly collided with someone who let out a squeal of surprise. “Janet?!” Ariana exclaimed, “Jan! Finally! We need to get out of here! I'll find my broom, I need to find out what’s happening so I can help!" she hoped the fact that she was a fairly good quidditch player would bring some comfort to her best friend, Ariana could feel her shaking slightly as she grasped her arm, making their way through the crowd, “don’t worry, James and Fred will find there way out, they will be fine” although as the words tumbled from her lips, they sounded more like a comfort to herself rather than to the sandy haired girl next to her.
They located the school brooms and Ariana hurriedly grabbed one, “Janet you might have to come with me, I want there to be enough brooms for everyone else to escape, il patrol once you are safe, no doubt the quidditch team will be up in the sky already.” She dragged Janet toward her, and mounted her broom, her green eyes narrowed, still scanning the pitch cautiously, the buzzing growing ever louder in her ears.
They rose up in the air, Ariana still gazing cautiously down and across the pitch, “Can you se-” She was cut off by a shrill scream that pierced the air, stinging her ears, “Janet whats wro-” She didn't need an answer, she had already seen them, swerving her broom sharply, she was sent knocked off balance slightly as Janet [who obviously hadn't expected the violent sudden movement] nearly slid of the side. Ariana was forced to reach back and grab her arm hastily, her breths coming in short gasps from the shock. Her heart was still thumping rapidly, she could hear Janet’s shallow, panicked breathing beside her, sounding almost as terrified as her own. The mosps were getting ever nearer. She knew what they were, but how to stop them, she couldn't remember. She veered her broom again panicking as she yelled to anybody who was nearby, "THEY’RE VAMPYR MOSPS! STAY CLEAR OF THEM, DON'T COME INTO CONTACT WITH THEM!” It wasn't the most helpful choice of speech, but she figured it would do to warn people temporarily. She needed to find out exactly what was going on.

Logan silently looked at the chaos around her and Elsian. The fighting around them was not helping her growing anxiety, but she started to calm when some students were able to cast lumos. From their spot near the tables, she was able to see almost everything allowing her to assess whether they would be able to get out or not. With lumos having been cast by the others, she could just see the outlines of everything that was happening.
Logan looked up at Elsian as he spoke to her about leaving, "yeah, yeah..." she trailed off as she noticed the outlines of large buzzing creatures flying towards the flowers and other students. "Vampyr Mosps..." the little Hufflepuff mumbled as she remembered her father talking about a case of them once when she was younger. She couldn't remember much but she knew that it wasn't good if you got stung by one of their two stingers.
Logan could hear the crying of other students but she could already hear other students firing spells at some of them. She assumed that this would only anger the mosps and cause injury to other students. She followed Elsian, although almost ran into him when he stopped mid step. She could see that one of them at flown towards the entrance to the field and probably wasn't going to leave anytime soon.
The young Hufflepuff looked at Elsian as the buzzing around them got louder, only to freeze whenever she saw one headed towards a table near them. She barely even noticed when Elsian pulled her farther from it and slightly behind him. Logan's breathing increased slightly as she moved closer to Elsian, hoping that maybe they would be able to get away unnoticed by the mosp.
'Don't attack it,' Logan heard Elsian mumbled to her as she looked up at him slightly.
"I didn't plan on it." She mumbled as she tightened her hand around her mostly useless wand. Logan could see Elsian looking back and forth between the mosp at the entrance to the field and the one closest to them. "Why haven't they attacked," she mumbled quietly as she kept her eyes on the closest mosp to them. She did not want to have to deal with a sting from one, or have someone anger it causing them all to attack.
Logan could just hear Elsian speaking to her and she glanced at him only to looked at him questionably whenever he stopped talking. Her head snapped towards the closest mosp and gasped whenever she saw another girl casting a spell.
When Logan heard 'Flipendo' being cast, her eyes widened greatly. She took a step away from Elsian, hitting into their own table as her eyes stayed on the mosp. She attempted to back away a little more, knocking into a chair as she moved farther behind Elsian.
"Oh no," was the only thing that she was thinking, maybe things wouldn't go badly and everything would be fine. Although she should have known that nothing at Hogwarts goes as expected.

Santario’s wand lit up, which helped settle some of her nerves, but she would still have nothing to do with Erin and Reaper’s fight. It didn’t benefit her to get in between whatever personal issues they had with each other. Would it possibly matter in the future if either of them ever became a friend? Perhaps, but today neither of them were anything to her besides the plausibility of making her collateral damage. So with that, she would take her leave of the fight, with her lit wand making her way to the exit of the stands. If anything, she could help show students how to get out of here in the darkness.Interacting with Anyone that can hear her yell.

Once she arrived at the exit, she heard a buzzing that reignited the fear inside her like a raging bonfire in the country that some moron just doused gasoline on. She didn’t just hear it whatever it was flew past her, ignoring her existence even while being lit up. Santario carefully walked under the archway only to see a giant bulbous… thing. Giant gross bubble butt number six was way too close for comfort, but it wasn’t attacking her; it didn’t even care that she was there. No instead, it had its long gross face straws buried in the box of flowers that had been provided by one of the clubs. Did that mean that all of the other Flying terrifying stinging things just wanted the flowers? Could they just give up the flowers and maybe be saved from most of the attack?
There was only one way to find out. San walked away as far as she dared from the gross purple death on wings and turned back to the probably panicking crowd and yelled as loud as she could. “GIVE UP YOUR FLOWERS. THE PURPLE ONE IGNORED ME OVER THE FLOWERS. IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE WALK CAREFULLY PAST IT AND DON’T HURT IT!” She would continue to hold her lumos high in the air like a beacon hoping to help some kids get out of here alive. The fear, however, of drawing number six’s ire loomed over her like death’s cloak. Would her yelling, even having stepped away from it, cause it to become angry? Hopefully, it was satisfied by the flower power that it would keep to its own business.

Their paranoia and frustrations had reached a boiling point. Erin was in a lot of ways the typical pure-blood, proud of her born status. There was a sense of shame, the notion of being a half-blood, a mutt, a mongrel like so many of the students here. Not that she actively antagonized them, it would be like seeking out a colony of ants for the sake of their suffering. They were beneath her notice but she was always aware that they were there.
There was also a severe miscommunication that was ongoing. One that probably would not be rectified. [Had it been in the hag thread, I would not know] She had looked for him, taking him at his dubious word. It was a foolish notion of course, to believe that a half-breed and a pureblood could have been friends. That they should mix.
“Bad blood, right?”
He was right, not that he could fix what he was. "Yeah," she confirmed, adrenaline still coursing through her.
“Yet you fawn over a muggle-born…”
"A what--?"
Her eyes slid over to Jack Burnett. A muggle born. The first step was denial, a knee-jerk reaction as her first thought was No, not Parce Jack. But that rejection would not last for long, he was not wrong and she knew it. There was not a Burnett among the purebloods that she knew of. They were a rare and a dying breed. A wave of nausea would hit her, that bitter burn would creep up the back of her throat and try to settle in the back of her mouth but she would swallow hard. She did not ask for confirmation, she already knew what Thomas was saying was true.
“So desperate for attention, you claim he is Parce.”
He was not wrong. She wanted something that did not exist, not really. Affection. Companionship. A partnership. Someone to love and someone that would love her back. It was her ultimate aspiration. Her reason. Not that she ever told Parce, or Jack for that matter such a raw truth but it was rather obvious. He saw it. He knew she would look past the inconsistencies if they were small enough. That she would see what she wanted to see. And for a time, that held true. Something that he used to his advantage for an end unknown.
"I thought--" Why was she trying to explain?
“And you have the nerve to hold me responsible for your ignorance.”
She would have been crying had she been capable. "Because you knew," she could remember still how she felt only minutes earlier. That crushing sense of loss flooded over any embarrassment of shame she might have felt for playing the role of the town fool. "And you knew I would not see," had she been capable of feeling rage, the very reason she relinquished that brass charm into Oliver's possession. Because she still had this irrelevant, impossible affection for Burnett intertwined in her wrath. This quickly dying sense of fondness that would have been quashed by her rage. She did not want to hurt him, but as the seconds passed and logic dictated the wrongs committed in the absence of want and love, affection and sentimentality, she was coming to the conclusion that there was nothing to save. Nothing to love.
“You’re so full of shit, Erin.”
He was not wrong. She should have noticed. Enamored by the prospect of having what she always wanted but never deserved, she accepted it at face value.
She would be the first to attack, however Thomas was both fortunate and unlike Erin cared for. He had allies, one of which being Selim Faust, Jack Burnett's friend. It should not have surprised her that they were associates. The anime wannabe would pull Thomas out of range of Erin's melee.
She would hear her name called out from behind. It was Oliver. He was not nearly as fast as she was, likely winded and tired he would bear witness to the start of Erin's assault. Then everything would go dark. It was habit, perhaps instinct to reach for Jack Burnett's hand. In her deluded mind they had been together for a year and a half. While the mind knew and the heart was absent, there was something intangible about relationships that seemed to exist. Had he taken her hand, she would have immediately remembered her folly and attempted to pull away after calling for him in the dark.
"Oliver. Oliver!" She called in response to him bellowing her name. "Get outta here!" She did not want him there. He did not want him to stay. No, that was not it at all. Rather, "the death witches! RUN!" To her a logical conclusion. The last ball was decimated by a pair of unruly part-giants that decided to make the ball their graves. She had known for some time that the death witches, such as Reid Kovaks and now she wondered if the Jacks or even Thomas were also somehow similarly involved. "Just get outta here before you get hurt!"
She should have taken her own advice, but Thomas was not about to let her leave. No, the death witches and maybe the part giants were reaping their harvest but she would going to stay there and fight. She was not there to save them. She was not there to even save herself. That was the problem with lacking so much, she lacked even fear, that basic impulse necessary for self-preservation. She could hear Thomas moving, the darkness did not give her a keener sense but it limited the distractions. She would let out a shout as she attempted to duck low, before he came at her with a flying kick and attempt to sweep his legs out from under him where he landed.
If she was hit in the face/chest first --

If she was not hit in the face first --

There was no grace or rhythm to her fight style, especially not in the dark. She would twist and writhe, stretch and attempt to catch him once again.
Action: Leg Sweep to knock Thomas down (yes it is a painful attempt, she is making no effort to not hurt him). If successful (more so Thomas knows what she is doing) she will attempt to climb on top of/straddle in with the intentions of punching him in his face once she finds it. This is not a secondary action, this is Thomas knowing what she intends to do.

@Aaron Jones, @Pericles Dralt, @Evelynn Decipio, @Charlie Woodward & @Xailah Alptraum
Sweet Jesus, they were enormous INSECTS.
Like, full out... HUGE BUGS.
Piérre was not familiar with any number of Magical Creatures, only being in his first year and so far only exposed to a Ghost and an Imp, one on his own and the other when Miss Risa had been the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts. As such, he had no clue what in the world these things were.
When he had first heard Peri call to him to make a fly for it, Piérre had nodded, ignoring the fact that the Ravenclaw probably wouldn't be able to see the miniscule movement. He would fly for it as soon as he could... but first he had to see what it was that was slowly making its way towards the hapless students, who were still fighting below. If the bugs wouldn't harm them or maim them in any way, the inner conflict between skittish and very hormonal and definitely terrified students would.
Any way you sliced it, something was going to end badly. Xailah called out to Piérre, and subconsciously, he responded: "Huge bugs. Like, giant freaking insects. I don't think you'd be able to flyswat them..." He glanced over just in time to see the Metamorphmagus slicing at one of the nearby bugs with glittering metal claws which were now poking from her gloves. Man, nothing Xai did failed to impress the Britalian. Why couldn't he do that?
Well, it looked like students were already starting to take countermeasures, some of them casting light spells to illuminate the skies, others casting Verdemillious. Piérre bit his lip. Verdemillious would probably not do any good unless the students were trying to blind the insects. Periculum would have been better suited for the situation at this point.
He had to warn the people below. Having picked up the words of "Mosp" several times, Piérre figured that was the name of the odd lit_ huge insects. "They're Mosps! Whatever those are... Talk to an upper classman if you don't know, and cast Periculum!"
No sooner did Piérre turn back to face the front, than a giant purple blimp of a Mosp trundled his way, nearly bouncing off of him. Piérre had indeed noticed differences between the red and the purple insects... mostly that the purple ones were attracted to flowers, and the red ones seemed to be going rather aggressively towards people. Had he been lucky enough to end up with a somewhat peaceable Mosp?
Yep.
"Um... hey buddy." Piérre stammered, looking at the multi-faceted eyes. "Y'know, has anyone ever told you how cute you are?" Despite himself, Piérre smiled. "Imma name you.... Um... Philipe! Nice to meet you, Philipe! Now, if you'd excuse me, I need to find a way to warn adults that know how take care of you lit_ big guys."
Piérre gently coasted away from the purple Mosp, not aggressively and not fearfully; just calmly. If aggression is universal, then peace is also universal. No person, or creature, would attack if the one opposing them is calm and not proving themselves a threat.
There was another broom in the air, and with the notorious couple of Charlie and Evelynn. Piérre smiled at them as they joined the sky fray alongside him. "Guys! Guys! Over here!" Piérre waved at them, trying to attract the likely couple's attentions. The party seemed to be going south. If the party was going south, Piérre wanted to at least be able to give everyone the best chance of making it out with as little of a scuff as he could manage...
In order to do that, Piérre had only one plan of action. He was light, he was lithe, he was accurate... and he was ready to be yeeted.
"Alley Oop! Alley Oop!" Piérre waved harder at Charlie and Evelynn, eyes wide and sparkling with total mischief, as if the chaos surrounding him was nothing to be worried about. "Throw me towards Hogwarts Castle!" Was it mad? Yes. Could it work? Perhaps not. Would it be worth the risk and the time of a lifetime? Yes. If this went as planned, help would be with the group in no time!
Standard Action- Prepping to be yeeted and calling for Charlie and Evelynn to help yeet him. (If not yeeted, is going to make a mad dash to the castle to leave topic and get help.)

(And mosp 10)Open to Interactions! When First hearing the faint buzzing sound in the distance, the first thing that came to mind was… well, bees. Or some insect of some sort, unless it could have been some machinery going off, which was unlikely considering they were at Hogwarts. But NOPE, there were no bees, and no machinery. There were only gigantic insects, sort of bee-like, but way larger. «vampyr mosps...», River whispered under her breath. She knew a bit about them, she’d read of these creatures, and she did not have any interest in encountering any. Well, that was a pity, for tonight seemed like the night where exactly that would happen.
She held her wand out, and tried to see how many there were, but the light of her wand only reached so far, and a lot of the pitch was still in darkness. The ravenclaw was relieved to notice none of the mosps had decided River or Katrina looked particularly stingable this evening. And for the time being, they seemed to not be a target. Turning back around to face Katrina, River realized she was not by their table any more. Holding her breath, the girl scanned the vicinity, and managed to see Katrina barely within the range of her spell. Another thing that was in the range of River’s lumos, was a mosp, by the size of River’s own arm as far as she could make out. She started making her way cautiously toward the gryffindor, «Katrina don’t prov-», River attempted quietly, but was interrupted by Katrina mid-sentence. “Flipendo”, River sighed and clenched her eyes shut, «...provoke it».
River knew very well these creatures were aggressive in nature, but there was always that chance of being able to get away from the situation without any attacks going down. As soon as Katrina cast that flipendo, she knew that chance was gone. Or at least way slimmer that previously.
Weighing her options, River knew that the best one for her own sake would be to sneak off, get out and back to the castle without getting hurt. Though, she also knew that Katrina was now in for a fight with a damn insect with two… TWO, foot-long stingers and an instinct to attack.
«Damn it», she whispered and shook her head defiantly as she strode against her nature to get herself out of danger, she walked up to Katrina, wand in hand, ready to help with whatever was to happen. River had no doubt Katrina would be capable of handling it herself, but just in case, she would stay there. The ravenclaw watched the mosp and waited to see how it was to react to this sudden spell being flung at it.Action || Walk up next to Katrina, Maintaining lumos and observe mosp 10

Secret Blossom Ball
The pit of embarrassment that had completely conquered Ethen’s sense of himself remained firmly lodged in his stomach as he forced his way through the sweet cupcake. Not quite having an appetite for once in his hungry life, Ethen tried to solely focus on the cupcake in his moment of shame. He chewed vigorously, suddenly quite aware of Atlas’ eyes peering over him. The presence of her gaze was disconcerting until she followed suit on her assault of the cupcakes.Interacting with @Atlas Reid
A smile slowly spread across Ethen’s still chewing mouth as he watched Atlas force one of the cupcakes in her mouth. Her mumble deepened the smile and he nodded emphatically as he tried to contain the plethora of frosting in his mouth. He could feel his body’s awkward tenseness beginning to lessen as they shared the messy meal. Nothing like food to get Ethen feeling whole again. He still vehemently avoided direct eye contact with the girl, fearing it would be his demise.
He noticed her eyes drifting towards several other students all dancing with their dates. Ethen’s eyes widened as he considered whether or not she would be expecting him to ask her to dance. They weren’t one another’s dates per se but they had decided to accompany one another. Ethen wondered if that actually meant they were each other’s dates. The nomenclature of such an arrangement alluded him and her continued silence only stressed him further as he tried to figure out what to do. If they weren’t there as one another’s date then he didn’t think there would be pressure to dance. But if they were and he didn’t at least ask if she wanted to, he felt like it would be breaking some rule he didn’t understand.
He didn’t picture Atlas as much of a lover of dance but he couldn’t be sure. Swallowing his pride, and reaching deep into himself he decided that he would ask her. His heart pounded and his jaw felt heavy as he worked up the courage. “Um… do you want to-” he began just as she mentioned the sky. “The sky?” Ethen said confused as he peered up. Immediately he saw what had caught her attention and quick pandemonium ensured.
Wands were drawn and he could see several young witches and wizards casting spells that he didn’t know. He drew his own wand before slipping it in his belt. He was virtually useless when it came to casting and it seemed like the type of situation that would need to be handled by others. Large flying creatures descended on the ball only increasing the chaos. Ethen knew he had to help fend off the mosps but didn’t want to get in the way. The chaos was perfect and normally he would have loved to watch, but a sudden feeling to be heroic struck him and he grabbed a plate of the cupcakes. “With this ball of sugar...I cast you out demons!” Ethen yelled as he began to throw a couple of the red cupcakes at the nearest flying creature. “Atlas we have to help!” he said to her as another cupcake left his hand.

In a blink of an eye, everyone was gone. Alexx had hardly gotten a word in edge-wise, not even really getting to say farewell to Adam before he darted off. "Oh, alright, then," She had said, but by then he was already long gone, and Alexx was alone as the dark settled in.
She could tell that something was happening, albeit she had no idea what, but mostly, she was just hear because if there was anything Alexx knew from her time on the paper, it's that 1) there was almost no way that the adults wouldn't find out about this, and 2) that meant that she could write about it.
After Adam left, Alexx had no idea who was around her anymore, and she couldn't see, anyway, so it didn't matter. The best thing that she could do was quickly cast a spell, so she attempted to bring light to her in order to get a better understanding of what was happening. "Lumos," She announced after whipping out her wand. Otherwise, she would be standing there dumbly, holding her broom and not making herself useful. Everything had happened so fast, and Alexx had been too lost in thought to even pay attention to any of it.
