Saw a Fox, Found a Phoenix
Interacting with @Phoenix Lyre
Ever since that day that Phoenix Lyre approached her at The Great Lake after she felt so all alone, the two girls became close friends and friendships were something that Alina valued greatly. She sat in the grassy area just outside the entrance of the castle and leafed through a book, rather uninterested. She still had a bit of homework to finish for the next day's classes but it was evening and there was still plenty of time.
Upon finishing up supper, Alina had asked Phoenix to meet her outside because the weather was growing warmer and the sun was staying out later as Summer approached. No need to stay cooped up in the Common Room all evening!
Finding one of the answers to what she was looking for, she got out her pad of parchment and her self-inking quill and began to write down the answer. One step closer to finishing this assignment and she could put it all behind her.
When she saw Phoenix come out from the castle door, she waved her on over and thought back on how there had been a chance she wouldn't have met one of the best friends she had at Hogwarts if she stayed being snappy towards the girl when she first approached her at The Great Lake towards the beginning of the year; back when Alina had been all alone and went to be with her thoughts. She was alone until she saw a fox but even he only stayed for the briefest of moments. She saw a fox, just in passing, but she found a friend in Phoenix.

Saw a Fox, Found a Phoenix
Phoenix told Alina she would meet up with her after getting a task done. She had to return a couple of books back to the library. She did not need so many books on Quidditch. She had realized that no amount of book knowledge would help her and was still confused about this magical game. Phoenix hurried to the library. She was excited to meet up with her friend. It was not like they did not see each other often, but Phoenix enjoyed her presence.
Dropping the books off, her hands were finally free. Taking long strides, she headed to the entrance of the castle. She was going to meet Alina there. When she walked out the castle door, it reminded her that summer is near. With summer coming, it meant summer holiday. She will miss Hogwarts and her friends, especially Alina. Phoenix could not wait to have all the time in the world. Warm and long days, with time on her hands.
Phoenix scanned the area for Alina and she saw her, Alina waved at her. She could not hold back her smile and walked her way towards Alina. Almost speed walking. Sitting down across from her friend. "A little bit of History of Magic," she said but already began putting her quill and book to the side. It really was just something to busy herself until her friend got here. "Be glad it wasn't Transfigurations or I might have accidentally thrown my textbook at your head. I've done that... twice now actually..." and always to some poor unsuspecting fellow first year that she didn't know.
She hated that class with the utmost passion. There was nothing worse. But no matter. She smiled, grateful that she would get to spend some time with her friend. "You know....I wanted to ask you something," she paused again because if Phoenix gave an answer like Hippogriffs she was going to have a time on her hands, but that was okay. "What is your favorite thing about this year? Like, something you found out about the magical world or a favorite creature or a favorite thing you really want to try in our upcoming years here?" She just kinda wanted to know what Phoenix's favorite THING was about Hogwarts.
Alina was making gifts for all her friends and wanted to make sure she got them all something they would like. She reached into her bag, pulling out one of her signature lemon drops and held out her bag. "Lemon drop?" she offered.

Saw a Fox, Found a Phoenix
Phoenix giggled, "Oh, Alina. If it was Transfiguration homework, you can hit my head. I would do anything to escape the homework from that class." Phoenix did not hate Transfiguration, she was a bit scared of it. She imagined Alina throwing a heavy book on a small first-year classmate. Wondered how the student reacted. They were probably upset. She hoped they are okay now.
Alina asked her the question. It was a random question, but a good one. Phoenix took a minute to think about it. She was not really someone into materials, she liked the memories and the feelings that came along with it. She has multiple favorite memories. Kind of quirky, if one thought about it. Phoenix's new favorite thing was reading about animals. Animals in the magical world. It might have sounded silly, but Phoenix was deciding to buy a Phoenix (creature). She knew she could not take care of it. If she bought one, she would want it to be healthy and an enormous living space. Thinking more practical. "Hm, this might sound silly but Bowtruckle! I have been so fascinated with them since my first day here. I read about them in Newt Scamander's book and did even more research on them. They are extremely adorable! Also Dittany, it is a wonderful plant. What about you? What is your favorite thing?"

Phoenix liked phoenixes. That would be easy to remember. "My absolute favorite thing about Hogwarts?" It was so tacky she really didn't want to own up to it. "I like learning about the magic. That's nice. I like...being away from Bella," she paused. "I know, that sounds wrong. I love her...but I know I'm not the same person I was when I started here and I think I still would be if we were joined at the hip as usual."
"I really want a pygmy puff someday for a pet. But my favorite thing, is probably," she paused so she could intentionally dig into her bag, pull out a small bag filled with her favorite lemon drops, and she popped one into her mouth, "'fton Tr-ble-ld." She intentionally muttered it. She couldn't say it!
To admit anything else was her favorite part would be a lie and she didn't want to lie to Phoenix but admitting it would be embarrassing. She already could feel herself turning red and just the thought alone! She then grinned at her friend. She really didn't want to know her answer. Maybe Phoenix would breeze over it and the two could start talking about something else.

Saw a Fox, Found a Phoenix
“Aw, that does not sound wrong. I understand! Pygmy puffs are so cute!” Phoenix says. She never really interacted with Bella, but Alina was definitely her own person. Well, we are all our own person and different. The stereotype of twins being the same exact person did not apply to them. It was easy to tell the twins apart. That might be also because of the small icon on their robes too. If Phoenix thought about it, she changed a bit too. Not much, but minor changes like she wasn’t as shy anymore. Maybe she could be even considered bold.
Alina popped the lemon drop in her mouth, her favorite ones. She ate them often or always had them with her. She mumbled something, face red and grinning at her. Both of Phoenix’s eyebrows curved down, confused but curious. Creating a wrinkle on her forehead. She could not pick what Alina said, other than half of one word. Maybe a syllable. “Huh, What did you say, Alina?” She asked. Coming to the realization that her question sounded demanding and not kind. Forgetting that boundaries exist. "Unless you do not want to talk about what you said, then I get it.” Trying to find a new topic to talk about, “I am excited for the Care of Magical Creature class when I get to the third year!”

"It's crazy that we have to wait until third year! I often thought about going to find out where they keep the creatures just to say hi....but maybe that's not the smartest move," but she looked to Phoenix, rather, she stared at her VERY intently. If the girl wanted to go for it, Alina was up for the task. Alina was always up for an adventure.
She cracked the lemon drop in half so she could talk better and part of her didn't want to say anything at all but part of her considered Phoenix to be one of her closest friends. "And uh...I said that..." be brave, it was just Phoenix. Speak your mind. "I said that Clifton Troublefield was one of my favorite things about Hogwarts." She glanced down and smiled, unable to help it. The mere thought of the boy made her smile and she thought of him so, so very often.
Slowly her gaze lifted back up to Phoenix. "And I thought Bella was the boy crazy one before we came here. I never really was against it but I wasn't boy crazy until I met him." She had it pretty big for her fellow Hufflepuff.

She thought for a moment Alina would say something out of pocket, but this was not out of pocket. Phoenix jaw dropped. It surprised her. Obviously, in a pleasant way. "That is so cute!" Phoenix giggled, almost sounded like she was going to squeal. Hogwarts romance was sweet and adorable. As long as couples were not sucking each other faces off. It was nice to see people make bonds here, friendship or more. Phoenix heard the name before. Phoenix tried to remember if she knew the student that her friend had a crush on. She could not place the name on a face, she probably have seen him somewhere. She was not the one that payed a lot attention to her classmates. Quirky, right?
Phoenix was excited. She did not have a thing for anybody, she was always focused on herself. A bit selfish. Trying to be a better person and all that spiritual stuff, like opening the third eye. But, the feeling of liking someone sounds magical. She loved the idea of romance. It was sweet. She loved hearing people talk about crushes, romance etc., Questioning Alina out of excitement,
"Do you think he likes you back? When did you find out you had a crush on him? Tell me everything! I love to hear it all!"
Phoenix was excited. She did not have a thing for anybody, she was always focused on herself. A bit selfish. Trying to be a better person and all that spiritual stuff, like opening the third eye. She felt unbelievably embarrassed now and like she shouldn't had said anything but she couldn't help it.
"Do you think he likes you back? When did you find out you had a crush on him? Tell me everything! I love to hear it all!" Phoenix seemed quite interested in the details but Alina knew if she began talking about the boy she was never going to stop.
"Well, he's umm, in our House. Our year. And umm...well I started talking to him one evening in the Common Room and I came off sounding a bit extra when it came to feminism and I told him not to worry, that I wasn't out to castrate him... You know, probably not the best of first conversations but I didn't scare him off! Then he sort of had pixies following him and we had to wrangle those up, had to even get the Head of House to help by the end of it," she took a break and knew she needed to slow down.
"To thank me for helping with the pixies he invited me to the Secret Blossom Ball but it was all very last minute. He looked gorgeous but I was rather casual. I don't know if he was nervous or wanted me to feel more comfortable but he suggested we have our own Secret Secret Blossom Ball in the Common Room on that same night. Great too because we avoided the whole mosp incident that occurred. Better because we danced and talked and I even kissed him."
It was hard to be that brave too...initiation her first kiss like that. "And we've kinda been spending a lot of time together since."
"I'm glad that I crossed paths with him. I'm glad that I crossed paths with you too, Phoenix. I'm going to miss you both once Summer comes. You'll have to write."
