Today was the day. Yexian was going to send a letter to her parents, informing them that she was placed in Gryffindor. She didn’t really care enough to send an entire letter for that, especially since she didn’t want her parents to hate her or despise her, or worse, see her as an enemy. The only reason she decided to write the letter was she really wanted to know her family’s reaction when they read the letter.
Earlier, she packed a notebook to write the letter on, a quill and an ink bottle in her black bag. She dressed fully in white, with a black belt and black platforms. Her hair was simply styled and let down. With a slow and steady demeanour, she walked to the Owlery; her footsteps almost inaudible and faint.
She walked into the infamous room where every human can send letters from. Since it’s still the beginning of the year, many students are in the Owlery, either to write or send letters to their families, informing them which house they were placed in, how many friends they made and their life in general. Yexian knew it would be very crowded and not quiet so she already wrote the letter in the library before going to send it.
Dear Father and Mother,
-------I have arrived at Hogwarts safely; it’s bigger than what I expected. The Sorting Hat recognized me as a Wei, however it placed me in Gryffindor. The Headmaster said the Sorting Hat never lies.. I wish you and brother are well.

Yexian had her letter sealed tightly in a white envelope. She reached out her hand to an owl and gave it the envelope. She saw the owl fly out with her envelope tightly tied to its leg “I hope it reaches them.. I’m not writing another one” she thought as she started to head out of the Owlery to continue her day.
