A pure-black pet for a pureblood Pet

Axel wasn't known for being nice. Nor kind. In fact, if you asked most people who had ever interacted with him the words that would spring to mind would be cold, brooding, insecure, self-obsessed, grumpy and a general pain in the arse.

It was a cloudy, overcast day, the type of weather Axel loved. Dark clouds scared away large amounts of people in fear of getting wet. Pathetic. But then again, it meant less people for potential interaction so he should be grateful for the dark clouds and peoples fears.

After a few months of pestering his parents, he finally had enough money sent over from his parents. He went straight over to the magical menagerie. He didn't even glance at the many owls fluttering in their cages, or staring at him with their big wide eyes. He didn't spare a glance for the cats either. The cats were for soft people, and Axel would most definitely not be perceived as soft, never in at least three years? So none of the typical pets for witches and wizards in Hogwarts.

He walked straight past the many small croaking toads, he wasn't a fairytale princess who needed to kiss one to find his 'PrInCe ChArMiNg' thank you very much, he'd leave that to the delusionists. He decided to ignore the mice, rats and ferrets without regret as they are rodents and he wouldn't want to like... care for something which could create an extra five to eight mini replicas. Glad for the cage or he might have let the cats have at them.

He knew exactly what he wanted to get, something which would scare off the potential social interaction, ew, whilst still being fairly low maintenance. For just over a second he stared at the brightly coloured Pygmy Puffs, before sneering at them and moving on. He made a beeline for the darkest corner, where the spiders would be kept. He looked at the spiders and gently (yes he can be gentle, but only occasionally) places his hand down to see if any of the spiders would climb onto his hand.

Out of the shadows, a pure-black spider skitters forwards and hesitantly sits in his hand. Its about the size of a baseball and looked perfect for what he wanted a spider pet for. "Right, you ready to share the hair off the back of people's necks?" He smirks done at the spider in his hand, almost looking... Caring?! Around the area the spider had crawled out of, there was an array of black webbing was created. "Black webbing? Sweet little guy. "
