Crispy Leaves and Cryptids
It was October and everything would be okay. Ezra had been in Hogwarts for about a month and he was enjoying it immensely. He had learned so much in his classes and he had made friends. Everything was going pretty good for him. He was much less nervous in general, which did wonders on his confidence. He had exchanged a fare share of letters with his family and they seemed to be doing pretty fine. He didn't miss them much. Maybe his sister, but not his mother.
The days were long though, lots to learn and lots of new faces. He still wasn't used to the enormity of the school he was staying at. At times, he felt free, walking the halls as though that was where he belonged. Nevertheless, more often than he liked he became overwhelmed. Everything became too big, too much, too loud. He'd have to find a quiet corner to go and calm down. That was what had happened, that fine autumn afternoon.
He had rushed outside, to the school grounds to find a quiet spot to sit at. He wandered around the crimson pathways for a few minutes, taking in the fresh air and stepping on crispy leaves. He came across a bench in a quiet spot underneath a large tree. Its leaves had faded to a orange, a few days from falling. Ezra made his way to the wooden bench and settled down, watching the beautiful scenery around him.
The sun laid her light gently upon the world waiting below. The breeze blew his soft kisses as the trees shed their feathers. It was autumn and there was peace. Ezra let out a sigh. I'm so glad I live in a world with Octobers. He thought to himself, at last breathing steadily as he gazed at the world around him filled to the brim with contentment.

Crispy Leaves and Cryptids
Ira was too bored to sit back at her common room. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and trying to study evey nooks and crooks of quidditch books she could find in the library but today was not the day. She likes some peace and quiet as well. For a girl who likes to jump around, speak loudly and befriend everyone she comes across on her way, she likes too much of the peaceful stuff.Ira Ray______________________________________

The sky was just the shade of blue for a peaceful day out. Ira looked at the sun for a while, slightly covering her eyes with her hands and smiled at it. The sun couldnt see her but she didnt care. She jumped around wearing her blue top and white bottom and a comfortable slippers as it was the perfect day for it. The grounds were mostly empty except for a few students here and there. Ira admired them for a second, standing and letting the sunshine sink in.
"What a lovely day!" she said, the smile on her face still intact.
Dancing amd jumping around and stopping to look at the autumn flowers once in a while, Ira noticed a boy brownish hair, pretty face, sitting on a wooden bench all alone. Of course she has to see to it! What do you mean you are alone on such a lovely day?
Ira has this weird nature about her. She cannot stand people being all quiet and lonely. Yes, everyone standing alone doesn't mean they are lonely but nobody should be standing alone in and under 20ft radius of where Ira resides. She has this 'elder sister'-ish voice that says she must protect the quiet and kind. Partly because her brother is like this and partly because of her best friend. She just cannot help but feel sorry for people who do not get to lavishly enjoy the life of an extrovert. So what will she do? Adopt them of course!
Ira didnt want to disturb him or anything, she just kept circling around him. She didnt feel shy to approach him or anything but for some reason she thought she might be annoying to talk to, as she was looking for some peace as well so she understands.
Ira was looking at the grass, then the sun and then the weeds or the fallen leaves on the ground from time to time, side glancing if he noticed her. She just didn't want to leave him alone. Who will tell her that not all people sitting alone are lonely...

Crispy Leaves and Cryptids
Ezra shifted in his seat, though the carefree wind swept his hair back and forth, forth and back he felt restless, almost... anxious. Like there was something he should be noticing. He tried to let it be, to let go and to take in what he had been given but he was unsettled. He scanned his surroundings, a fawn startled by as small a noise as a bug crawling on the leaf beneath.
Ezra turned to spot somebody off to his left. She hadn't been there before, nor had he noticed her when she came but regardless, there she was. She too was taking in the sights of the scenery, her caramel skin and dark hair lit up in the evening light. Sparks of golden glory reflected in her irises as they darted across the grounds. He watched.
People watching had always been a favoured hobby of Ezra's. His mother would say it was rude but he couldn't help it. Everybody was so interesting. They all had lives, worries, hopes, loves, fears. It baffled him, how all that he experienced had been seen completely differently by somebody who would walk past him. He would create stories in his brain solely from their appearance and behaviour. It was fun.
He continued to watch her, the crispy leaves fell around her, like crimson rain. Her eyes forever restless, gazing upon everything all at once. Her eyes darted back to his direction. Their eyes met. Ezra froze like a deer in the headlights. Now what? He offered an awkward smile, unknowing what he should do.
Would she find it weird that he was watching her? or like his mother find him incredibly rude? would she ignore him or walk away? As much as he wasn't thrilled by the idea of socialising during his quiet time he would find it considerably boring if his only source of curiosity walked away. He waited, wondering what she would do next.

Ira was taking in the fragrance of the pastel colored Dahlias as the cozy autumnal wind touched her face from time to time. She would occasionally look at the boy sitting on the bench, alone and sad almost like he was asking for company. She would giggle whenever the wind passed by her. She bent down on the ground closely observing a bug trying to crawl on a leaf when she felt someone's gaze, but weirdly enough it was not threatening.Ira Ray______________________________________

She looked back. It was the boy on the bench. He had an innocent face and bright eyes, almost like a hopeful child. He looked rather anxious when their eyes had met. Ira didnt want to make him uncomfortable so she took the lead.
"Hello! I am Ira Ray, First year Gryffindor!" She said smiling brightly and getting up from the ground, stretching her dirty hand out for a handshake. She quickly realised that her hands were covered in mud and took it back. "Oh...uh.... my hands are dirty right now...Please dont mind. Oh look what a lovely bug! Isnt that is adorable?" she said trying to change the subject.
"Damn it Ira dont make it awkward!" she thought to herself.
The bug was now slowly crawling and eating away a nice green leaf. It was a caterpillar but Ira hardly had any interest in bugs. She always hated insects with a passion but wouldn't kill them unless they were on her.
"Oh right! I forgot to ask you... What is your name? I noticed you a while ago. Uh...Are you alone?" she hesitated to ask him thinking he might be hurt looking like a loner.
"Not anymore I guess! Haha..." she quickly added trying to lighten the mood. She wondered if that made him even more conscious as Ira didnt know exactly how to read the room. Maybe this time around she won't mess up.
