Music is Magic
I knew this place had a ballroom. But this was the rehearsal room. I just finished with transfiguration. I had an hour until History of Magic. This was my perfect chance to check out the rehearsal room. I entered through the large, heavy looking oak doors. The room was huge, with a high domed ceiling. Perfect for reverberating music. The floorboards were smooth, not a lump in sight. The hogwarts crest was painted on the floor. In the centre of the room hung a mesmerising chandelier. It was stunning, I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful masterpiece. It had utmost detailing. It had multiple silver birds attached with lit candles on their back. The walls of the room were lined with multiple paintings. They all looked at me when I entered.
This place had something in it, there was no music playing, but I could feel the vibrations in my feet and my body. I wanted to sing and dance. I set down my bag and took off my shoes. I liked dancing bare foot, it made me really feel the music and the beats. I started slightly pacing around the room. Then as by habit, I stood on my tip toes and lifted my arms, as I started to dance across the room. I started with basic Ballet steps, the first ones I'd learnt, then suddenly I remembered the Swan lake recital I'd watched. I wasn't old enough to earn my pointé shoes yet, or to do such complicated steps in swan lake. But I couldn't help myself, I started hearing the music, and feeling it in my body. I started dancing to Swan lake as though it were by magic. It wasn't the exact steps as in the recital, but it were the simpler ones I could do.
As I swayed, enjoying each step I took, I was getting lost in the bliss of the moment. Happiness was etched on my face. As I stopped, I heard an applause. It was from the paintings. I giggled and took a bow. Suddenly, I heard a voice behind me.

♡♡♡♡♡♡Riley had gotten up early. It was the weekend, and today she figured she would break out her old pointe shoes. She had changed into her old leo & tights and headed down to the rehearsal room. She carried a small back that had her pointe shoes and other stuff to stretch her feet; a block and bands. Not too many students were out this early, and Riley hoped the rehearsal room wasn’t occupied. Then again, she could meet someone new. That would be nice.
She finally reached the rehearsal room and was slipping her pointe shoes on in the hall when she heard a feint sound of music. She sneaked over to catch a glimpse and saw a girl dancing. She looked about the age of herself; a first-year. She watched the girl dance for a moment. She was good. You could tell that she wasn’t en pointe, but her arches were good, and her technique was excellent. Riley could tell that she had lots of potential.
After she finished her combination, Riley applauded the girl. She looked over quickly, with a sort of surprised expression. Now Riley got a closer look at the girl. She had black waves, and soft brown eyes. She was quite pretty; with her long eyelashes and her full lips to her lean face shape. Riley realized that they were both waiting for somebody to say something, so she spoke first.
”Sorry to stare… Your feet are really nice.” Riley paused awkwardly. She realized that sounded worse than it did in her head. But she then continued. ”I dance too. Mind if I come in?”

I always completely lost myself to music, even if it played in my head, it almost felt like magic. I turned to look at a girl with pretty blue eyes and dark hair. We stood there staring at each other for a few seconds. I wondered if I should say something. But then the girl spoke, and I thought, Did she just say my feet were really nice... That's a bit of weird thing to say. What should I say to that? I'm pretty sure she'd meant to say something else, but thus just happened to come out. I just stood there in the awkward silence. I don't blame her really, even I happened to jumble words or say weird things when I was nervous or excited. Sometimes I'd rapid fire questions, making the other person feel awkward.
She then quickly added, "I dance too. Mind if I come in?". Well, look on the bright side, she's a dancer too. How great is that. I replied quite eagerly, "I don't mind at all. Do come in. You do Ballet? I used to go to classes before I came to Hogwarts. What about you?" I suddenly realised that I hadn't introduced myself. "I'm Avery by the way, what's your name?"
