It helped him feel like he accomplished a lot before he went to bed again. Today was different though. He had gone to bed early because he was just so tired. That had led to him waking up at three, and absolutely fail to fall asleep again. He tossed and turned for what felt like forever before he got up. Throwing on a jumper and a pair of trousers, he wasted no time before heading down to the common room. Only problem was that it was empty. School work did not tempt, and neither did sitting down and stare out of the window. So before the clock hit four, he left the Gryffindor tower behind.
He practically skipped down step after step, corridor after corridor, before heading finally stopped outside of the rehearsal room. He had meant to stop by there loads of times during the last couple of weeks, but time had failed to make space for it. Carefully he opened the door and slipped inside. No one here either. But that didn’t matter as much. He could make noise here!
Practically vibrating with energy and excitement he approached the instruments that were so nicely lined up. He was always sort of worried he’d stumble and smash them all by accident. A thought that wouldn’t leave him alone.
Thankfully the instrument he played didn’t often break. In fact it was made to be hit. With a satisfied smile he settled behind a set of drums. He couldn’t help but tap each one. The vibration made sound, and that in turn echoed through the open space. A satisfied smile crossed his face as he picked up the drumsticks. Familiarity in his hands, he set a beat.
