The Mischief 2.0 had only done one fun thing for Hogwarts since their initiation. Maddy wanted more for this group before their second year begun.

Secret Santa had gone out perfectly.

Now Maddy wanted to cause more mischief and chaos.

She had noticed that many people had begun to feel pretty low. Probably because nothing excited had happened recently.

Well Maddy's purpose was to change this gloomy mood.

She walked into the study room in casual clothes. She hadn't cared to look professional or made-up for just some interviews. If she was going to add new people in the group (since the old ones had seemingly left due to life problems), she wanted them to know exactly who they were going to be working with.

She had asked her best friend Lily Clarke to join her too, so she knew she would be here in a while.

What she had done you may be asking?

Well Maddy had put posters all around Hogwarts saying:

"For those bored enough to read walls,

Hogwarts has grown dull and the castle feels to quiet;
This simply will not do.

We are searching for a rare kind of witch or wizard:
bold enough to bend the rules,
clever enough not to get caught,
and chaotic enough to enjoy both.

Think you qualify?

Write your name on the back of the parchment.

If chosen, you will be contacted.

If not... perhaps you were never truly built for mischief.

Until then:
keep your head low, your wand ready, and your alibis believable.

Mischief doesn’t create itself."

To Maddy's surprise many people had written their names and signed up. It was a difficult one for Maddy to chose who will join but now the final 5 had been selected.

They were all owled to meet at the Study Room, they were still not told who to meet. Since the main point of the whole group was to remain anonymity so they didn't know who even owled them.

Lily's and Maddy's identity was still a secret. Maddy will quietly assess them and when she thinks its time, her and Lils will both reveal their identity to the new match of chaosmakers.

Let the fun begin.

Lily was both nervous and excited. Today, new members of Mischief 2.0 were going to meet.

Maddy had believed that nothing entertaining had happened in the past few weeks, and to fix that, they needed to recruit new members. So over the past few days, they had been busy making posters about sign-ups and recruitment.

After all the registrations, they had gone through every sign-up, considering whether each person would be a fit for Mischief 2.0.

And now, finally, after weeks of planning and thinking, they had decided on a few names who could be part of their group. Only the most mischievous people (according to them) had been chosen.

The selected people had been owled to a specific location, the Study Room. Although this seemed like a bad plan, come on. A group where Maddy was there? Please, almost anyone with a brain would know something chaotic was going to happen. But she went along with the plan and met up with Maddy in the Study Room.

There, they were both sitting normally, acting calm and collected, like they weren't about to unleash a new wave of chaos.

A new journey was going to begin now. Maybe she would get new friends. Who knows?

You seem pretty sad

He had seen the scribbles all over the castle. It became sort of like a game, to search for them where they were likely to be. Not that it took him long to sign up either. A chance to bring some fun and laughter? Max could always be counted on for that. He was strangely excited about it too, when he got a letter with a meeting place and time. Counting down the days until the day of.

What he hadn’t been counting on was the meeting previously in the day. The new Prefect badge was secured to his robes, and he found himself looking down at it constantly. He still didn’t really know why, or how, he had gotten it. He probably zoned out and missed a bit, but still there were way too few words spoken aloud to justify it in his opinion. The badge was supposed to come with responsibility too, and he dreaded it. It wasn’t fair if everyone else got to have fun while he had to haggle over the rules.

Still, he eyed a small hope as he moved through the corridor on the second floor. If he just turned his back at the right moment, he could both have fun and make sure others didn’t get into trouble. He could deal with that. Not being in the very center of something once wouldn’t kill him.

He crossed the threshold of the study room and paused as he took in the two girls sitting there. A grin spread across his face as the memory of getting hit with mashed potatoes crossed his mind. «You two sign up too, then?» He put himself into motion and settled beside them, sitting on a desk. «I wouldn’t expect anything less after the food fight…» He added it with a bit of a laugh. The situation in the great hall had done plenty to liven things up a bit, and he could think of no one better to create new mischief with.

Briar's heart pounded as she walked close to the Study Room. Why? Honestly speaking, she had no clue, she didn't even know what she was walking into. All she knew was that she was in for a thrill, the best kind. Ever since she had appeared on the face of this planet, her one goal was to cause chaos and never let there be peace for more than a week. Technically speaking, she had never even left it for more than four days.
It had all started when she saw the words on the wall. She didn't know why she chose that particular day to inspect them. As soon as she way faint scribbles, she bent down to read them.
"For those bored enough to read walls,

Hogwarts has grown dull and the castle feels to quiet;
This simply will not do.

Wow. It sounded poetic to her, she instantly signed up without even one thought. This just felt like her type of group to be around. Of course, there was the off chance that she wouldn't get selected, but here she was.
She had received an owl telling her she was in, the sheer excitement of meeting new people was the reason she had presented herself nicely, something she didn't usually take notice of.
She walked into the study room and saw a boy as well as....the two girls she had met in the Charms Classroom. Her cousin and Madeline, the other girl, she still remembered how much she had teased Lily that day, the memories of that day flooding her brain.
"Hey! You three signed up? Amazing!"
She sat herself down on one of the tables, her long hair reaching the floor as she waited for what was going to happen next.

It had been an ordinary afternoon — too ordinary — when Silas came across one of the posters. Bored out of his mind, he stood and stared at it. It immediately called him out for that, which prompted a short exhalation of breath through his nose — not quite a laugh, but close. Well, whoever had written this had successfully grabbed his attention. He kept reading, and a smirk slowly appeared on his face as it explained the kind of person they were looking for. He undoubtedly fit — bold, rule-breaking, chaotic, and clever enough to avoid detection when he tried. The poster instructed him to write his name on the back of the parchment if he thought he “qualified” and he did so. Hopefully, he would be chosen and saved from boredom, and maybe even get to meet people like him.

Silas had almost forgotten about the whole thing when he was owled, but it came back to him quickly. He felt a small amount of satisfaction at being chosen, though really it would have been hard for him not to be, in his humble opinion. He had quite the reputation of being a troublemaker, and if the organisers of this were first years, they should know him, at least from a distance — he constantly interrupted class, causing problems, and simply didn’t show up other days. There were also the rumours — things that travelled around the student population uncontrollably, telling of his deeds, some real and some less so. Some were printed in the Hogwarts Headliner, while others spread through word of mouth.

The study room was not a place that had ever grabbed Silas’s attention. He wondered why that of all places had been chosen as the meeting spot, but he could still work with that. When he arrived, a group of students around his age was already forming. They had to be the group he was looking for — he was pretty sure he had also overheard someone asking if the others had “signed up”, which was a good indicator, too. Silas walked over to them without hesitation, cockiness plain in his demeanour. “I don’ spose you lot know anythin’ abou’ some posters?”

Nick was walking along the corridors when he noticed some strange writing on a wall when looked closer he read the words. Once he finished reading them he thought to himself “hmmm, do I follow in my parents footsteps and not get a single detention or should I follow in my brothers by causing some chaos abut then my parents would be disappointed. What the hell let’s just do I don’t want to be a good boy anymore. So he turned the poster around trying not to rip it and carefully wrote his name a few days later he received an anonymous letter to come to the study room wearing his usual full black his eyes scanned the room where he saw only one person he recognised Briar Anderson a fellow Ravenclaw’s first year. The last time he was here there was a girl who stared at him whilst he did his homework but after that he used the enclosed shelves of the library to hide from people’s stares he recognised by sight two people who had lead a food war. Nick thought the prefect had shouted something like mady or something but he when he looked around he recognised quite a few people from the food war

Maddy sat lazily on top of one of the study room tables, one leg swinging slightly as the selected students slowly gathered inside.

Her expression remained calm, almost bored, but her brain was already planning everything.

Very interesting group.

The moment Max walked in and mentioned the food fight, she snorted. “I knew that mashed potato incident would become part of Hogwarts history.” She crossed her arms dramatically. “An honour, truly.”

After he mentioned signing up she played being confused, "Signed up for what?"

Then Briar entered, all excitement and chaos packed into one person. Maddy already remembered her from Charms class. Loud. Confident. Slightly unhinged.

She repeated the same words to Briar: "Signed up for what?"

A slytherin, who she knew as Silas arrived next, asking about posters. How might Maddy knew all their names? Well she selected them after a very keen observation time...

Maddy tilted her head slightly. “What posters?”

She exchanged the quickest glance with Lily winking at her so she can know what she's playing at before looking back at the group, acting perfectly casual despite the fact she herself had practically wallpapered Hogwarts with those parchments.

Nick entered quietly after that, dressed like someone attending the funeral or something. Maddy noticed him scanning the room instead of immediately speaking. Smart. Observant

Finally, Maddy hopped down from the table and folded her arms. “Okay,” she said slowly, eyeing all of them one by one, “clearly I’m missing something because every single person who’s walked in here keeps talking about posters, signing up, anonymous letters, and whatnot.”

Her expression remained suspiciously unreadable.

"So...anyone care to explain?"

It was a trap, obviously.

Not a dangerous one.

Just enough to see who talked too much, who stayed cautious, who picked up clues quickly, and who was smart enough to question why two random first-year girls were sitting calmly inside the exact meeting room mentioned in anonymous letters.

Maddy wasn’t just recruiting chaosmakers.

She was recruiting people clever enough to survive being one.
